y'all ever think about the fact that the episode where yen has an orgy and falls in lust with geralt is called bottled appetites? and before any of that happened tissaia came into yen’s chambers and yeah that little hitch of breath when tissaia touched her shoulders? there is so much tension in that scene and sure maybe most of it is just emotional but they WANT each other but tissaia’s pride won’t let her say it out loud and yennefer’s pride definitely won’t be the first to fold so she lashes out and makes tissaia almost crY before she kicks her out. but yo they’re both clearly dying of thirst for each other and that’s what bottled appetites really means fight me

And now I want you to imagine Yennefer's reaction in 1x08if Tissaia would've said "Dimeritium" and that it was Fringilla when Yennefer asked her what happened (and that it's much nore dangerous that in the show. Like Tissaia would've told her gasping while she got on her knees and Yennefer tried to hold her up. And then you see how the confusion is replaced by pure panic. Yennefer starts to cry quietly while she shakes her head in disbelief because (in this universe) she knows how dangerous Dimeritium can be. And then there is anger, because Tissaia tried to talk Fringilla down alone but it's all because she is so worried. And all she wants to do is to find Fringilla and end her but at the same time she didn't want to leave Tissaias side because she knows how inhaling dimeritium can end and she is so scared that it could be the last time to see her alive if she would leave her now.

And that's why she let her chaos explode when Tissaia asked her to. Because she was afraid that Tissaia might die. And that would be consequences she doesn't want to deal with. So she did it thinking she will die. But if she does at least for Tissaia. And while she While she rained fire on her enemies, she still had the strength to protect Tissaia because she had hope that she could survive. Maybe that they both could survive.

And if they were to come out of the whole thing unscathed, she promised herself to tell Tissaia what she felt.

I would give up the adrenaline of battle to stay by your side and make tea instead. I'm not sure I know who I am without a weapon in my hand because I've had to fight for so long but for you I'm willing to try and figure this out.

It must be hard. To put down your weapon that's protected you for so long. It's allowed you to stay alive it's kept you from getting hurt--physically and mentally. Because you've never had to worry about a real relationship if you think you'll be dead at the next battle. And you feel naked without it and it feels like you're ripping off an extension of yourself. Are you even whole without it? Are you worthy of being loved if you can't prove it by risking your life? And yet they've found someone who's asking them for something much harder than dying in battle on their behalf. They've found someone who wants them to live. And that's much more terrifying.
