      nodding, gossy grins at the praise, like a little puppy who’s done a trick correctly, “ tha’s silly of you. grizzle’s always around. “ that much she could rely on – a big bowl of stew, a hunk of bread and maybe ( if she was lucky ), some cheese. grubs were just an added bonus to the visits – better than the worms and frogs she’d feast on around her swamp areas.

      another bug is pulled up from the ground and gossamer tears it in twain, pushing half into the older witches face, “ shares. num num, open up. “ so innocent, still, to the world – she was naive and sweet, just wanting to look after her grizzle-friend! filthy little teeth are on show as she snickers, “ my legs are sleepy now. up gossy goes? “ 

Grizelda’s mouth opens, a soft as she can manage explaination that maybe someday she won’t be there any more to take care of her. If her long life had taught her anything, it was that things could go wrong at any moment, and a loved one and carer could be taken away when one least expects it. But little Gossamer has seen enough death already, so the words die on Grizelda’s lips before they are even uttered.

The sudden sight of a grub right before her eyes snaps Grizelda out of her thoughts and she blinks in brief confusion, her nose wrinkling and the corner of her mouth twitching in disgust. Of course, she was no stranger to eating creepy crawlies but that did not mean she had developed a taste for it. Still, it would be cruel to refuse such a bounty, especially when Gossamer is so delighted to share. With a small sigh, she takes the grub in her teeth as though it is her pipe as she hoists the little girl into her arms, balancing her on her hip. “You know,” she murmurs between chewing as she carries Gossamer back to the cottage. “Soon you’ll be big for me to carry.”

The old witch’s brows barely raise at the grub in the little witchling’s hand. To be sure, it is not the worst thing she’s seen young Gossamer handle in their time together and if anything, she’s just glad it’s something that can easily be cleaned up. She herself was no stranger to eating the creeping, crawling creatures of the dirt. They had been the only thing that saved her in the days after her family’s death, when she ran until she couldn’t run and eventually found the land that became her home.

Gathering her tattered skirts, she stoops down to Gossamer’s eye level with the barest hint of a smile on her blackened lips. “Very good,” she murmurs with a small nod. “You should always look for grubs if food is low, or I’m--not around.”

…………..lol. so! like i said the other week, i am back here on a much chiller basis and will dip out from time to time just to remove any pressure for me cause i am a fool who worries too much. 

i’ve been at my boyfriend’s house for a bit  with no laptop so i couldn’t really check in but now self isolation is kind of offically enforced here so now i’m actually, like, self isolating in his house

but luckily my ma dropped some provisions over to his house including my laptop sO i will be here a lot more lmfao

..............lol. so! like i said the other week, i am back here on a much chiller basis and will dip out from time to time just to remove any pressure for me cause i am a fool who worries too much.
