Dang this shit is well written and I still stand by it
First Blog
YEah that’s right, my first blog is actually gonna be a blog and not just a small piece of text or whatever. PLUs right now I only have one follower (hey sarah) but im gonna pretend like i’m talking to a larger audience because whatever it’s my blog i dont have to justify everything, fuck it i could just make this a porn blog and just post big ol’ titties every day be thankful im not
Anyways, moving on. Something that’s been on my mind lately is sex.
Gay sex to be more exact.
Yeah that sounds weird but hear me out.
I’m pissed at how it’s seen. Gay sex for guys is STILL taboo and icky and lesbian sex has been fetishized in the most disgusting way. It’s been twisted to the point that… its somehow for straight people now. If that makes any sense whatsoever. Let’s take porn for example. What is classified as “lesbian porn” is most certainly not for lesbians. It is very clearly what a straight guy thinks lesbians do. Of course me not being a lesbian woman, I can’t say for sure what they do, but I have read several articles and come on, it’s porn. But it’s not just porn that I have a problem with. I’ve watched many a movie about lesbians (seemingly the favorite type of queer to be portrayed in media, not even just bi or something else, they are often explicitly lesbian) where instead of an involving story, it seems to be just some dialogue in between the bits with the titties and the moaning. Even with movies that are supposedly pro-lgbt, I feel like we’re still being exploited, like we’re just something to watch and in the case with lesbians something horny straight guys get off to.
While I certainly am grateful that LGBTQ+ (honestly at this stage it’s just LG) are getting screentime, there’s still a lot more to go. Just once I want to see a queer rom-com or a queer romance without a bunch of pastels or French or indie music or the number of other queer film tropes. or maybe (!!) a plain old movie with a queer main but the fact that they’re queer isn’t a big deal. Don’t get me wrong, I like the queer film tropes, I think it’s become a part of our culture at this point, but at the same time i just want to see if hollywood can manage to make a movie that’s not playing into stereotypes.
Idk, some of what i’ve said may not be said in the best ways, i typed this out in like 10 minutes and didn’t put too much thought into it, just tried to get what I was thinking onto the page.
I don’t know how often I’ll have real posts like this, honestly probably just whenever I need to rant or something. I’ll try to be somewhat active here, we’ll see how that works out.
Until next time, don’t forget to love as much as possible
PS I’ll try to keep my content less about sex and shit, it just happened to be on my mind.

heterosexual teenagers: *busy cuddling in public, kissing in the library, sitting beside each other in mcdonalds while watching a snapchat video, going to the movies and sharing popcorn, meeting each other by their high school lockers before class, fucking, being happy and carefree w each other while no one tells them how to live their damn lives*
lgbt teenagers: *busy being yelled at on the interwebz.org.com.ca.cc/homo-phobia every single time a movie containing a gay character comes out to stop being excited because the movie could possibly be shitty while no one thinks about why all movies containing lgbt characters are shitty*

Can confirm
A weird thing about guys that I haven’t noticed with girls is that whenever you put guys in a group they just get…fuckin crazy. No way around it. You can have 12 girls in a room and it’ll be a pretty chill environment but in a room full of boys someone is playing a fife, there are 3 to a chair, tiny plastic footballs are being thrown, power poses are being struck, ragtime music is heard faintly,

Art
Music is such a strange concept.
There is absolutely no reason why people should make music and yet everyone does it. Everyone has sung, tapped out a beat, hummed, etc. and that astounds me. Art just entrances me it is so fundamentally crazy and useless and yet at the same time we need it. I need art. Dance, music, photography, painting, poetry, literature, these things have had such an immense impact on my life. I almost don’t have words for it.
Art is the only way I’ve found that actually can translate emotions. Dance has and always will hypnotize me. Ballet is so mesmerizing, the way these people use their bodies to express a message and to tell a story is just.. magical. I really can’t call it anything else. It’s magic. Same goes for music. Good god music is so important to me. I’m always listening to it, I have music in my heart, I miss creating music and I want to do it again. I love to sing. When I was severely depressed in sophomore year, I escaped my life through music. When I was alone with my thoughts, I used music to drown out my brain. While ultimately, the music didn’t stop me from a suicide attempt, it helped me before and it helped me after my darkest times, and it helps me now when I feel those emotions return.
Art is beautiful and I love it and artists and gosh wow.

Okay, can I just talk about this comic series for a second? This has got to be the most hilarious comic series I have ever seen. This is AJ & Magnus, a Calvin and Hobbes inspired comic series about an adopted kid, his talking dog, and his 2 gay parents. The humor is really good, very quick and to the point. This series is beautiful, please, give them your love!

What are your thoughts on the mix-up at the Oscars?
Ah fuck. I have two thoughts I guess?
A petty part of me is ludicrously happy that after all these years of cishet white people embarrassing us in media, making fun of us, making us the butt of jokes in their films and/or straight up murdering us in said films, a movie all white cishets adore won the most prestigious film award in all of Hollywood only to have it be ripped away in terse fashion by a stern man who storms on stage, grabs the cards from their hands and tells them that they lost to a movie about a black gay man. Or. Not a movie. Moonlight doesn’t feel like a movie, how La La Land does, all acted out with a ridiculous script both bare and unrealistic, two dead actors pretending to dance in front of a camera trying so hard to inject colour and life into the film its own asshole is nearly tearing apart. Moonlight is reality, both literally - the shudder inducing relatability it sends through you as you watch it - and figuratively, as while you watch it, it doesn’t feel like a movie anymore. It’s a series of images in your head, all falling together in perfect harmony to create probably the most put-together piece of media I’ve ever watched in my life.
And the other half of me is so fucking furious that this incredibly important and one hundred and ten percent perfect film was still sort of made the butt of a joke. This hasn’t happened before in Academy history, messing up the name of the literal fucking movie winning the damn movie of the year award, so why did it have to be the movie about the black gay man that became the first? They took away the platform that the people who made moonlight should have had to really get into their speeches, and unlike other previous winners, many people will not go right to the theatre and watch it; they’ll just be gossiping about the ~drama~ and it’s not fair because moonlight is so fucking pure, it is the least deserving of any controversy surrounding it - the only thing surrounding it should be pure awe and respect - and now people on Twitter are actually going and saying that this was a conspiracy theory or either the all-horrifying “political correctness” that made moonlight win or literally anything other than maybe, just maybe, this movie simply deserved to win.

This brought tears to my eyes
My dear lgbt+ children,
Seven years ago, my mother said having a gay child would be the worst thing that could ever happen to a parent and if one of her kids were gay, she couldn’t love them anymore.
Yesterday, my mother sent me the link to a website about a lgbt+ christmas market and wrote “Your girlfriend would love this!”.
People can change. Sometimes it just takes them a couple years.
Stay hopeful.
With all my love,
Your Tumblr Mom

Missing: Fictional character. Not sure when they were last seen, or in fact, if they were ever seen, but they described themselves as bisexual, and their sexuality wasn’t treated as a joke or punch line. If found, let me know so I may cry tears of joy.
