i was gonna delete this because i checked out the blog and all the rest of the deltarune analysis on there was really good (really wish i had reblogged some of it), but if i'm being completely honest, that just makes the specific post i'm vaguing even more frustrating.

it is very, very clear that toby did not actually intend for players to be looking at tenna on a CRT. his face is nearly completely invisible in all of the examples given. y'all know a sprite can invoke the feeling of a medium without actually requiring its use, right?

idk. it just kinda comes across as yet another example of non-pixel-artists just deciding, against the better judgment of anyone who at all knows what they're talking about, that all pixel art must be """retro""" and that all "retro" graphics must be displayed on a CRT.

if you had to put him through a shitty CRT filter and then ALSO an on an actual CRT just to realize that he was a prerendered 3D model intentionally styled after the SNES era, then you're not as good at analysis as you think you are.

I think it was bad actually for Morpheus to try to wake up Neo. He should’ve let Neo figure it out on his own, really none of Morpheus’s business. It’s kind of problematic to make jokes about waking up from the Matrix, it pressures Matrix-aware men to wake up when maybe they don’t want to.

and it's like. sometimes it's not even particularly dry bread. but the problem is that everything is dry by soup standards. so you just keep scraping at it. pulling pieces off. trying desperately to finish your bread and your soup together. but it never works. and you realize you did not enjoy either half of the meal.

also, i don't think i could even finish an entire loaf of bread all at once even if i wasn't also trying to eat soup. it's just so much bread.

i don't think i actually even like bread bowls. you sacrifice your entire soup to this thing in hopes to satiate its dryness and still it demands more. greedy fuck.
