Ryochi gives a half-concerned, half-understanding glance towards Shino before looking back at Suzu apologetically. "Eheh.... Sorry, she can be a bit unfriendly at times...." He leans in a bit, sort opf whispering now "Oh, and just so you know... she very much prefers for people to use her first name, not her surname. Sorry, I probably should have mentioned that sooner...." He leaned back again with a sigh.

"i'm ok with it~!" Sakura, meanwhile, was the complete opposite of Shino in every possible way, as usual. She happily waved her sleeves around a bit "that just means we get to have more friends, riiiiiight~? so yeah!!!!" She smiled a smile that only someone without a care in the world could smile.

For now though.... His smile brightens, both because of Suzu's enthusiasm and the fact that he was able to salvage the mood.

"But no, of course it's not confidential! Actually, if you want, I have a binder at home specifically compiling the results of our research on that kinda stuff. He reopened the notebook, flipping to an earlier page than the one he had been taking notes on. "Let's see... ah! Here we are." He fully opened the notebook once he had found his desired page.

"This is FAR from everything, but: We've done a lot of investigating of local yokai - the tengu that live up on the mountain behind the shrine, for example, though they're... not particularly friendly - we've been actively working on compiling a list of who at our school has some sort of supernatural ability and what exactly that ability is, we've tested out a few rituals and charms and such to see if they actually have any effects or are just hoaxes - same with visiting popular ghost spots or supposedly haunted places, tests of courage, you get the idea - we've done some investigations into that one organization that's been around lately that seems to specialize in supernatural stuff, and," currently they were investigating what may be a legitimate death cult that may or may not be after Sakura-chan, but he was NOT going to say that "that's about all we've done since I got this notebook! I try to keep my investigation notes organized, so I always keep a rough table of contents at the beginning of my notebooks, eheh." He smiles, seemingly slightly embarrassed, before shutting the notebook once more.

Hm. So even before the club leader left, they were still pretty disorganized, huh...? Good to know. ALSO good to know that there wasn't any intentional exclusions going on.

...Well, that Suzu knew of anyways.

He finishes up his notes, shutting the notebook with a small sigh and giving Suzu a thankful smile. "Ok, well I think that's about all I wanted to ask! Oh, and if you'd like to ask any questions about our club as well, then I'd be happy to answer! I'm sure you probably want to talk this whole decision over with your club members too, right?" He knew she had asked him about merging in the first place, but given what he had heard so far he could probably safely assume that this hadn't been discussed by all of the club members yet.

...He felt bad thinking it though. Gahh, he also felt bad about how the conversation had started to go towards the end, but at the same time... it WAS important information to consider. Hopefully he could lighten the mood a bit....

Not a bad number at all; small enough to reasonably manage, but big enough to easily take on larger investigations. "Yukikara-san is... that girl who got in trouble earlier this year for breaking someone's nose, correct?" His tone and expression doesn't really indicate why he's asking this, or whether saying 'yes' would be a deal breaker or not.

"Oh! Yeah, I remember hearing about someone making an official paranormal club this year, but at that point we had already had our own unofficial club for a few years, so I didn't really think to look further into it, eheh...." Part of that was because he didn't think a school-sanctioned club would be ok with some of the lengths he was willing to go to for his research (aka trespassing and/or breaking and entering), but he wasn't about to say that. "But, hm.... Er, well first thing first," He stuck out his hand for a handshake, smiling. "I'm Yūgen Ryochi! Nice to meet you, Suzu-ch- er, Ninomiya-san." He waits for her to return his handshake before continuing, expression shifting to one of contemplation as he crossed his arms. "That said... merging our clubs, huh? Hm...."

It WOULD be beneficial. More members was definitely a plus, as was the funding that would come with being an official club. But there were also... concerns. How school-sanctioned was the paranormal club? Were this club's members as dedicated to researching the occult as himself and Shino were? Why did the club's leader leave, and how would that factor into the leadership of the club going forward?

...This definitely wasn't a decision he should take lightly. Especially when considering....

He briefly glanced towards the now begrudgingly-resigned-to-her-fate Shino and still-excitedly-planning-an-afterschool-hangout Sakura.

Hm....

"...I'd like to say 'it's an easy yes!' but.... I'm still not entirely sure about all of the details, if that makes sense?" He looked back up at Suzu, smiling apologetically again. "That isn't to say I'm not open to it, of course! But I'd like to have a better grasp on the situation with your club, as well as be able to discuss it with the other two," he gestures towards Shino and Sakura "if that's alright with you."

He really hoped that he wasn't coming off as hostile or anything, but he also wasn't about to forfeit the life of his club without knowing all of the details first.

The boy looked up, seemingly a bit surprised at first but very quickly putting on a friendly smile. "Yeah, we are! Man, I didn't know that people actually knew about us, hehe!"

...Shino's reaction, however, was entirely different in tone.

Her glare was piercing, and cold. Very cold. The kind of look that made your spine tingle and your hair start to stand on end. Which was probably expected, going by her reputation, but was starkly opposed to what Hidemi had made her out to be.

There was no universe in which the girl sitting before Suzu could be considered 'cute'.

A few tense moments of silence pass, the air growing heavier with each and every second.

And then suddenly and without warning, Sakura makes her move.

"Gh- Get the hell off of me, Yurei-!" Shino immediately loses all of her intimidating composure as she tries and only sort of succeeds to pry the pink menace off of her.

"aww, but shino-chan~ we haven't seen each other all day~!" Sakura giggled happily, not relenting in her friendly assault.

Ok maybe it was a bit more understandable as to where Hidemi was coming from with the 'cute little sister' stuff now. Maybe.

Ryochi gives Suzu and apologetic look as the Squabbling continues, with Hidemi joining in on the Shino Dotting, much to her dismay. "Eheh.... Sorry, uh, just don't mind them, this always happens...." He rubbed the back of his head sheepishly.
