We walked 1.5 miles this morning. For a 13 year old shiloh shepherd, that’s good enough.

He’s a very good boy. Perfect strangers love petting this beautiful boy. My boy Princeton is the absolute best. I love him!

Well, I gave this stressed out boi a CBD chew in his dinner as he would refuse the chew alone or with peanut butter. After that he was very relaxed, so much so that he laid down to sleep.

I took him for a walk an hour and a half later. Hallelujah! He had normal poop! After pooping we walked back home. Princeton then proceeded to lay down and sleep.

Then, we had to leave to pick up The Pack Leader (Hubbz) from the airport. Touch down was 11:30PM. I was a little concerned that Princeton may have a bout of diarrhea while we were out.

Coming home at midnight Hubbz calls out to Princeton. Prince was lounging so relaxed and needed assistance getting up. He came out to greet Hubbz. There was no whining no excited behavior. Just very calm relaxed slow walk around and receiving of pets.

After their reunion, Prince went to lay back down and sleep. He slept so soundly, until the morning. Gone was the pacing, the frequent water drinking and the constant licking of a hotspot. At his usual wake time Princeton was still very sound asleep. I did not rouse him. I figured, he will get up when he’s ready to eat.

Princeton had breakfast an hour later than usual. He ate almost all his food. I brought his bowl out so he could take his time finishing it. He drank some water and peed in the backyard. Then he returned inside to resume sleeping.

I read that the effects of CBD lasts 8-10 hours. At this point, it’s been well past that time. Prince is still relaxed, with no whine. We’ve come to accept Prince’s high pitched whines (a la Lassie) aa part of his personality. But with CBD, he was not whiney or barkey at least all the time since he had the CBD chew.

I’ll walk him when it’s been an hour after breakfast. Like the calm. Like the lack of constant licking. Not so fond of the lethargy and lack of vocals. All I’ve heard from him so far are grunts, as if he were saying “awe man I don’t want to get up.

I will go back to work today since Pack Leader stays home today for jet lag recovery.

His pack leader had to go away for a few days because of a death in the family. Now Princeton is a total anxiety dog. He doesn’t sleep. All night he paces, whines, groans and poops diarrhea. We kept his routine the same with the exception of his pack leader being around. He is stressed and seemingly mourning his dad’s absence.

What should we do to calm him and alleviate the diarrhea???

I’m considering marijuana or CBD. I don’t know how I can reassure Princeton that his dad will return.

Morning walks with my 12 year old Shiloh Shepherd will never be a chore. He has continued on where his fellow shilohs have crossed over before the age of 10.

He’s precious. My sweet, fluffy, soft, wolfie looking, gray bear is aging. We are doing everything to keep him healthy. His rear legs have gotten weak. On occasion we’ve had to assist him up the front door step up. When we walk, I do my best to let him choose the path he wants.

I don’t think I posted anything about my German Shepherd, Bukhara. The pic above is of our boy Princeton who is now alone, without sweet Buki.

She had crossed Rainbow Bridge on May 20, 2022. That was my son’s college graduation and the first day my husband exhibited COVID symptoms.

We attended my son’s graduation and followed it up with a celebratory lunch.

When we got home Bukhara had already passed peacefully it seemed. May have happened soon after we left for the grad ceremony.

I thought she would have still stayed with us. We were going to take her to the vet after we got back home.

We have her ashes in a special box.

Her often think about her and hope she’s happily romping around in heaven over Rainbow Bridge.

It’s been quite a while Princeton is now 11 years old.

Bukhara had passed away last year May 21st. We miss her.

Now Princeton gets all the attention.

He is pictured with another dog at the dog sitter’s house.
