LYME DiSEASE + NEUROLOGiC LYME DiSEASE pt: lyme disease and neurologic lyme disease
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
awareness flags for those disabled by long-term / chronic lyme + its neurologic variant. just a visual way to let people know abt your disability, not a radqueer or glorifying flag. i have neurologic lyme and i made these for myself.
LYME - a seasonal tick-borne infection caused by the borrelia burgdorferi bacteria that can affect multiple organs and systems in the body. Named after Lyme, CT, where it was first identified in 1975. NEUROLOGIC LYME - In about 15 percent of cases, Lyme disease affects the central nervous system. When it does, it is known as neurologic Lyme disease. Symptoms are a headache and stiff neck. Other symptoms may include facial nerve palsy (Bell’s palsy), blurred or double vision, spine pain, confusion and fatigue. Neurologic Lyme disease may also affect one’s thinking, memory and ability to process information. src

flag id: the top two flags each have a light grey background. over the background, as tall and wide as the flag itself, is an eye symbol with a dark grey outline, off-white sclera, a grey iris, and a near-black pupil. the top left flag is overlaid with static. in the top right flag, only the iris and pupil of the eye are overlaid with static.
the middle row has the eye symbols from the above two flags; these images are identical to the above images except for the lack of a light grey background. in the left image, the transparent background does not have a static overlay, but the entire symbol does.
the bottom two flags have 9 stripes, with the first, second, eighth, and ninth being smaller than the rest. the stripes are light grey, dark grey, off-white, grey, near-black, grey, off-white, dark grey, and light grey. the bottom left flag is overlaid with static. in the bottom right flag, only the fourth, fifth, and sixth stripes are overlaid with static. end id.
banner id: a 1500x150 teal banner with the words ‘please read my dni before interacting’ in large white text in the center. end id.
eye flag with full static | eye flag with partial static eye symbol with full static | eye symbol with partial static striped flag with full static | striped flag with partial static
alternate visual snow syndrome flags for @thatonefurryartist!
they suggested using dark and light greys and white with a static overlay. i decided to make some flags with an eye shape, isolate that eye shape as a potential visual snow syndrome symbol, and also provide striped flags as an alternative!
the left versions of the eye flag/symbol have static over the entire image, while the right versions only have static over the pupil and iris (since i thought it looked cool). i also made versions of the striped flag with static over the entire flag and static only over the colors taken from the iris and pupil.

Hello everyone!
I've made a Spinal Fusion flag to represent those struggling, recovering or simply living with a fused spine, like me!
I was diagnosed with a S curved scoliosis at the age of 5 and had surgery in summer of 2021, alongside multiple complications.
There seems to be not much representation to this specifically at all despite spinal surgery awareness! Sooo I thought I'll make something myself :]

Leukemia and Lymphoma Awareness Flags!!
This flag was designed by us, as we currently have a family member with Leukemia and wish to bring awareness to this kind of cancer.
color meaning:
#FF2D34: Myeloma
#00DC0E: Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma
#FF8C2E: Leukemia
#D12DFF: Hodgkin Lymphoma
Below is information all about Leukemia and Lymphoma Cancers.
Leukemia and Lymphoma are both cancers that are not associated with a tumor. Lymphomas are cancers that affect the lymph system and start in cells called lymphocytes. Leukemia is a cancer of the early blood-forming tissues, including your bone marrow and lymph system.
There are many types of lymphoma. Some grow and spread slowly and some are more aggressive. There are two main types of Lymphoma:
1. Hodgkin Lymphoma is cancer that starts in the B lymphocytes (B cells) of the lymph system. Your lymph system helps you fight infection and control the fluids in your body.
2. Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (NHL) is cancer that starts in the lymphocytes anywhere lymph tissue is found:
Lymph nodes
Spleen
Bone marrow
Thymus
Adenoids and tonsils, or
The digestive track.
Leukemia typically involves white blood cells, the cells that are your infection fighters. Leukemia can be divided into categories: fast growing (acute) and slow growing (chronic); and by which white blood cells are affected:
Acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL)
Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML)
Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL
Chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML)
A screening test is used to detect cancers in people who may be at higher risk for developing the disease. With leukemia and lymphoma, there are no early detection tests. The best way to find them is to be aware of the symptoms:
Swollen lymph nodes which can appear as a lump in the neck, armpit or groin;
Fever
Night sweats
Weight loss without trying, and
Fatigue.
Leukemia can have similar symptoms but also can include:
Easy bleeding or bruising;
Recurring nosebleeds; and
Bone pain or tenderness
Myeloma is cancer of the plasma cells. Plasma cells are white blood cells that produce disease- and infection-fighting antibodies in your body. Myeloma cells prevent the normal production of antibodies, leaving your body's immune system weakened and susceptible to infection. The multiplication of myeloma cells also interferes with the normal production and function of red and white blood cells. An abnormally high amount of these dysfunctional antibodies in the bloodstream can cause kidney damage. Additionally, the myeloma cells commonly produce substances that cause bone destruction, leading to bone pain and/or fractures.
Myeloma cells are produced in the bone marrow, the soft tissue inside your bones. Sometimes myeloma cells will travel through your blood stream and collect in other bones in your body. Because myeloma frequently occurs at many sites in the bone marrow, it is often referred to as multiple myeloma.
Signs and symptoms of myeloma include the following:
Hypercalcemia (excessive calcium in the blood)
Anemia (shortage or reduced function of red blood cells)
Renal damage (kidney failure)
Susceptibility to infection
Osteoporosis, bone pain, bone swelling, or fracture
High protein levels in the blood and/or urine
Weight loss
In 2022, more than 62,650 people are expected to be diagnosed with leukemia. In addition:
Leukemia accounts for 3.6% of all new cancer cases.
The overall 5-year survival rate for leukemia has more than quadrupled since 1960.
62.7% of leukemia patients survive 5 years or more.
The diagnosis of leukemia requires specific blood tests, including an examination of cells in the blood and marrow.
Treatment and prognosis depend on the type of blood cell affected and whether the leukemia is acute or chronic. Chemotherapy and blood and marrow transplant are often used to treat leukemia.

depression | anxiety social anxiety | separation anxiety
simplified versions of the depression and anxiety pride flags! i’m a fan of the originals, but i wanted to make a horizontally striped version of the depression flag that’ll be easier to use for icons, and i also wanted to see what the anxiety flags would look like with fewer stripes.

dream anxiety disorder (or nightmare disorder): a disorder in which one experiences frequent nightmares that interfere with their sleep, mood, and/or functioning in areas such as work, school, or relationships. these nightmares imply danger to the sufferer’s life or wellbeing, and when they awake, they typically have a clear memory of the dream and behave in an alert way due to its impact.
dream anxiety disorder flag for myself! this flag includes both those who have dream anxiety as its own disorder and those who experience dream anxiety as part of another disorder, such as ptsd. i normally don’t include a definition in my mad pride flags, since i typically make flags for more well-known conditions, but dream anxiety disorder isn’t fairly well-known and is also often confused with night terrors, so i wanted to include a description! there are other symptoms/characteristics of this disorder, i just included the diagnostic criteria.
this flag uses the same format of my other anxiety flag simplifications, with the top three stripes being purple to represent dreams and sleep!

Echolalia Pride Flag
[pr: Echolalia Pride Flag /end pt]
Tumblr media
Echolalia: a speech disorder unsolicited repetition of vocalizations made by another person. In its profound form it is automatic and effortless. It is a subset of imitative behavior, sounds are imitated "without explicit awareness". Echolalia may be an immediate reaction to a stimulus or may be delayed.
For example, someone with echolalia might only be able to repeat a question rather than answer it.
