[ SLUMBER ]: sender picks up and carries the receiver because they're so sound asleep that they won't easily wake up.

gonna place this under a cut because there's gonna be a lot, but there are some details i noticed after rewatching episode 10 again.

there's a point during the third time around where madoka asks homura to stop her from falling for kyubey's lies. that's why homura's so adamant on stopping her from becoming a magical girl, and i guess i didn't notice on first watch because i watched it dub way back when, while this time around i watched in the original japanese. it definitely pays to watch it in the original language, trust me.

when homura first ditches the braids, there's a quick shot of her using her soul gem that seemingly serves no purpose unless you think about it logically. i'll provide the shot below, but basically you have to think about it for a second. at the beginning of her journey, where time always resets, is right before her first meeting with madoka. her body has been bedridden for six months. she's not going to be in her best form, even if this isn't the homura that should be here. i like to think that her use of her soul gem here is, in some way, shape or form, her way of healing herself from said heart condition, or at least expediting the process so that she can start hunting down witches right away.

the first time the other magical girls fight oktavia (sayaka's witch form), homura apologizes to her for having to use pipe bombs on her when it was established in a previous scene that sayaka didn't want to team up with her because of her bombs. this shows that homura actually does care about the other girls (well, at least sayaka) and not just madoka. she truly cares about the others.

the first time homura and madoka meet in the very first timeline, as they're walking to the nurse's office together, madoka tells her that she should be a cool person, just like her name. it takes a long time for her to get there, but compare that scene to the current timeline and you'll see that she actually does listen to madoka's words, even if she isn't really trying to be cool. she lives up to that just by being herself, even if it means distancing herself from others.

You ever think about how Homura just wants Madoka to herself and seems to not care about how she feels? How in Rebellion she pulls her apart and out of Madokami but never once stops to listen to her? How she doesn't care if Madoka loves her back and just wants to see her "free of suffering" in her eyes and no one else's?

And also how her personality changes when she learns she's become the very thing she's been trying to prevent Madoka from becoming? How she begs to die within her own labyrinth and tries to stop Madokami from saving her bc she feels like she doesn't deserve forgiveness from Madoka?
