Hey idk if you know but that javelin thrower you posted is from nazi propaganda (leni reifenstahls olympia film) and meant to be an example for aryan superiority/ fetishization of "perfect" aryan bodies.

Olympia (1938) is a sports documentary directed by Leni Riefenstahl about the 1936 Berlin Olympics. It’s famous for its innovative camera work like slow motion, underwater shots, and dramatic angles which transformed how sports were filmed.

- Praised for its technical brilliance and influence on sports cinematography.

-Also controversial because it was produced under the Nazi regime and is seen as propaganda glorifying ideals of physical and racial perfection.

Why it matters: Olympia is both an artistic masterpiece and a politically charged work still studied today for its innovations and ethical questions.
