Foreword: This becomes a deep conversation about life, bear with me. Watching supernatural got me thinking...
Maybe I'm really late to the conversation, but the evil, dark, killer fog of spn season 11 bringing on the end of the world, could be such a metaphor for environmental downfall bringing on the end of the world, or a metaphor for the division of people being the end of the world— likely a mix of the two, and more.
I also saw a video by Hank Green about how big corps burning fossil fuels and such aren't the direct cause of the durastic environmental issues, it really begins with human nature; we want to survive, we want to love, and combined these things further our expectations for living, furthering our innovations that keep us alive longer— more care, then more things, then more people... the amount of people and care in this world is really what drives the end of it all.
That doesn't mean that lack-of-care/love is the solution, nor that the opposite of care or love is the solution.
Pure nature works by ending things as needed. It purges and restarts as necessary. At some point, humanity will reach that too. A bunch of species will. And the Earth will.
Nothing lasts forever— and if we really tried, we may be able to make this round last a little longer— but is it really worth it? As we are now, it's hard to slow down our decline, let alone reverse it, but I think that maybe we should let things run their course. We can try to leave warnings for the next round, I guess. That'd be pretty hard to convince them of how or why to not allow so many people to live or care at once, let alone find a way to inform them.
Maybe it's inevitable that all things exist and then don't exist. It's all just concepts in the end anyways, and it all has value because we give it value. We wouldn't live without attributing value to anything, of course. Some would argue that it's not that anything "stops existing," it's just recycled or reused, possibly in some way you didn't even think it could be.
Thank you for reading my 3am thoughts. ✨️ I hope you find peace in your life and live contently, if not happily.

I can't believe home depot literally produced a wildly successful science fiction musical and we all just pretend it didn't happen. on one hand yes it had a boring white guy main character but like.... home depot just... Made it? And it had shit ton of box office sales? and no one even talks about this. this is like avatar (2009) all over again

it's not that I need a quiet day or a day off exactly; it's that I need a pocket of time that exists entirely outside of linear time as we know it that would allow me to get things done without time passing in the real world, and frankly, I don't think that's too much to ask.

Anytime I’m told by someone how Star Trek is the tamest science fiction I just-
The thing that started the fuck or die trope that led to the A/B/O universe???? The thing that established that the android CAN fuck within the first three episodes??? The thing where it’s canon that a species has two dicks, another species ears are sexual, and another has to fuck every seven years or else they die??? The thing that has to have a fuckboy for every crew??? The thing that had two people turn into lizards and have children??? The thing that canonically has a species that has four in a typical marriage???? The thing that started fanfiction and fandom????
Nah, bruv, you don’t know anything, that ain’t even the worst of it.
