I’m debuting a preview of The Lore Keeper at the Massachusetts Independent Comics Expo (MICE) this weekend in Cambridge MA! This is a huge milestone for me and I’m so excited to start sharing my story with the world. I’ll be at table A46 with my long time pal and brilliant storyteller, Cathy G. Johnson. Page one of The Lore Keeper ready for inks.

I decided that I want to ink my graphic novel traditionally. My digital inks lacked life! Nothing beats a juicy ink brush on a nice piece of paper. I also cut the chapter I was working on which was painful, but it needed to be done! I’m much happier now with both my process and the story. I’m starting with a scene that is very dear to me and sets everything up beautifully. I can’t wait to share it with you!

Rough pencils page count: 15 I had to rewrite a scene that wasn't working so I didn't get as many pages done as I wanted to last week. But I'm back on track!

HERE GOES NOTHING! I started my rough pencils for The Lore Keeper this week. I’m nervous and excited and all sorts of emotions!!! These are digital so I’m printing and collecting them in this cute binder. Partly as a physical backup, but also because turning an actual page is really satisfying. I’m going to check in weekly (maybe?) to tell you how it’s going!

Making terrifying goals for 2018 in the early am. Those who have known me the longest know that my one true wish is to be a cartoonist. I’ve had an idea for a graphic novel rattling around in my brain for over 11 years. I’m finally making a real effort to get it out of my head and into the world. I’m so scared, but I owe it to myself to see this through.
