An Ode to Star Catcher ✨🏳️‍⚧️🩷🌀

A little piece I did for an mlp zine I’m apart of (organized by raineydayes in instagram)!!! :D I’m super happy with how it turned out because Star Catcher was one of my favorite gen 3 ponies as a child, I’d watch the ‘Dancing in the Clouds’ movie ALLL the time.

Because of the different color rendering of the computer and phone, it is darker than I saw on the monitor. But it's okay i guess!

in a real Barbie mood but looking at the mattel creations site makes me feel insane. you want me to pay WHAT? I can get a secondhand doll older than my parents for some of these prices. the only reason they get away with this is manufactured scarcity- the scalpers will ensure any exclusives have a skyrocketing price, regardless of whether anyone really wants the damn thing outside of fomo, meaning people buy it asap because they know this is the cheapest they'll ever get it. and while the designs are sometimes amazing, the quality rarely is; have you seen the Wednesday dolls? they aren't totally ugly or anything, but there's no reason for them to be that price for what you get, other than they know people will pay it. it's so stupid
