as a long time follower of your blog I'm astounded at your ability to rollover and take it combined with your persistence in espousing about your mundane life with that AP English parlance
While tone is hard to tell online, and I have a tendency to assume things are negative, this ask has thoroughly confused me. Therefore, I am choosing to take it as a sincere compliment. So, thank you!

Three accounts and two tickets with support later, and I finally managed to place my order for a $9 phone case. It’s almost like they don’t wanna make money on the counterfeit, copyright infringement products they knowingly sell.

I think we need to talk more about men who think they're obese when they have a slightly convex stomach. Like, weight-obsessed gym rats will post a photo of their not-flat stomach with abs and be like "dad bod," or "took the bulk a little too far." Like, hun, you're not fat. You have functional internal organs.

A Doctor who, for some reason, is immune to a Vampire’s powers of persuasion. As a result, the vampire tries convincing the doctor to allow him into the office to get some blood, but the doctor never listens.
As a result, the Vampire stands in the clinic doorway, arms on hips, like, “Let me in Fergeson. You know you to. 😡” and the doctor sarcastically wheels back in their chair and looks over the brim of their glasses like “The answer is still no, Christopher. 😐”

I'm thinking about doing something extremely feral:
Basically, unlike macOS, dynamic wallpapers on Linux work on timers. So, the dynamic Mojave Wallpaper I have set up isn't aware of when the daylight is changing, like on macOS. As a result, 16 photos across 24 hours simply is not enough.
The wallpaper that I initially downloaded, had each of the 16 images evenly spaced out. However, one quick look at the images, and you can tell they are NOT lined up for the changes in day time. Therefore, I went into the XML file and edited the times, myself. I set them up to better reflect what the sun is actually doing, outside.
However.
The sun does not behave the same throughout the entire year. Fortunately, Apple weather has this fun feature that lets you look at how the daylight behaves across the year, on a per-month basis. As a result, what I can do is make a unique XML file, for each month, and then swap them out at the 1st to make sure my dynamic wallpaper stays accurate.
But that's a lot of work for a wallpaper, and having to manually swap them out isn't ideal. I wonder if there's a way to use functions to make a single XML file repeat the daily pattern only a certain amount of days before switching to a new daily pattern for a new month, and then repeating.
Idk. And there's only one way to find out!

I always used to write stories mostly in first person point-of-view, so I never really got to appreciate the literary concept I learned about school known as the unreliable narrator.
Now that I'm getting into writing third person point-of-view... I get it. I love writing in a deceptive way. As the god creating and overlooking this story, you have no choice but to trust me... but that's the one thing you shouldn't be doing with this story: trusting the narrator.

One of my favorite ways to write for fun is improv writing.
Not, like, writing improv comedy or anything. I mean, just taking a vibe, using some of my pre-existing characters, and just using them like dolls.
I just sit down with an empty document, and I just go. No plan, no plot layout, not anything. I just let the words guide me as they're written. Sometimes I make something good, sometimes I make something bad. Sometimes I make something others would like, sometimes I made something that's totally self-indulgent.
But it doesn't matter! Because I'm not writing with the intention of respecting the canon or posting it. I'm just having fun and seeing where the pages take me. Sometimes it's just fun to forgo the lore, the notes, the outlines, and all that fuss, and just write a little 2-5 chapter whatever for shits and giggles.

That was certainly why I wanted to try them over other "cheap shit" sites. At minimum, if I wasn't happy with what I received, I could at least get a refund and send it back. I'm not expecting perfect quality... then again... Apple's own silicone cases aren't exactly known for their quality.
Also, an update on the purchasing situation:
I was going to buy it, but I keep getting an error that prevented me from doing so. I figured maybe I could bypass it (and use Apple Pay instead) on their mobile app, so I downloaded it and tried.
However, for some reason, the case is more expensive on the mobile app. I looked it up, and apparently its common for AliExpress to discount items on their mobile app to encourage people to use it... but this case is the exact opposite.
On the desktop site it's $8.10 total. On the mobile app it's $9.60 total.
So I contacted support, and they "escalated the issue." So now I have to wait 24-48 hours and see if I get an email update.
And you better believe I'm petty enough to wait 24-48 hours if it means saving $1.50.
My CASETiFY phone case broke, and I’ve relapsed into my obsession with Apple’s ultra-slim, silicone cases. Problem is, my phone if four generations old, so Apple doesn’t make their silicone cases for my phone anymore. (Probably for the best, they’re overpriced anyway.)
SO! I’m thinking about trying my luck with an AliExpress knockoff case. Thoughts, everyone?

Similar. I've certainly looked on Amazon, but I'm looking to go an even shadier route.
Specifically, I think that the regular dupes you can find on Amazon are too plain. Apple's OEM cases have an Apple logo here:
Tumblr media
And I think that's a good way to break up the rather plain back. However, to get the Apple logo, I have to go to AliExpress and get a knock-off.
Problem is, I've never bought anything from AliExpress, and the low prices scare me that I'm about to get scammed.
I've found a good potential option. It's decently cheap, plus the "Welcome" discount, and free shipping on my first order certainly sweeten the deal. There are some 99¢ options, but none of them mention MagSafe compatibility, and most don't have the Apple logo.
The review images for this link show the cases have a duped Apple logo, and a few reviews mention that the MagSafe functionality is there.
Also! I'm really trying to find the color in the photo above. Apple released a "Cloud Blue" silicone case for the iPhone 12-series, and I've been searching for something similar ever since. I had one of the Apple original "Cloud Blue" cases, but (as most of Apple's silicone cases do) it started chipping, so I stopped using it. The linked product has a "Cloud Blue" dupe. How accurate it'll be, idk. I'm not holding my breath on a perfect match, but it's the closest one I've found yet.
Most other sellers try to get close, but "Cloud Blue" is less of a baby blue and more of an extremely cool-toned white. Plus the linked product has the official MagSafe accessory animation, which only Apple original accessories (usually) get.
So with this dupe having the Apple logo, the official animation, (alleged) MagSafe support, and a potentially very close (if not identical) "Cloud Blue" color dupe, this product could be a 1:1 dupe of the OEM cases, and if that's the case, I'll be ecstatic. If not, I'm gonna ugly cry.

Oh, uhh, I think I can do this one.
I have a 3-switch light switch in my bedroom, and two of the switches do nothing.
I also have an outlet on my bedroom ceiling. Idk why it’s there or if it even works, but at this point I’m too scared to try. (Also wtf would I even do with it if it did work??)
There was a live outlet behind our shower tile, downstairs. We only figured that out after years of living here and finally tearing out the old, nasty, rotting drywall shower.
There’s a breaker in our breaker box, and we don’t know where it goes. We tried following the wire, but it goes through the right-side, exterior, BASEMENT wall of our house, and we don’t know where it could possibly be going to because there’s nothing but woods in that direction. (And before you ask, no it does not go to an old well pump. The old well is on the front side of the house, and its breaker is properly labeled.)

My cat is currently chasing a bug around the room. However, she's doing a very bad job at it.
The bug is one of those large, hard-shell black beetles. Not a stag or anything, but it's still pretty big. I guess because it's so big, she isn't interesting in swatting at it or trying to play with it. So, instead, she's following it around, occasionally moving to a new seating spot so she can watch it from a better angle.
Any time she gets too close to the bug, in an attempt to smack it or eat, it turns around and begins walking directly towards her. She then gets scared and twists and turns and runs away, and then the cycle continues. So, basically, my cat has taught a beetle confidence and the beetle is now weaponizing it against her.

New: Search operators for better searching!
We hear you, and we share your frustrations: it’s hard to find a specific post. You know it has a particular tag or phrase, and it was posted on this date, or at least, within a specific year. But you can't find it!
So, today, we’re excited to announce that you can use ✨ advanced search operators ✨ in the search bar now! You can now say potato from:staff year:2021 to easily enjoy that video of a potato being microwaved again.
Before we jump into the details, a couple of caveats to note:
These search operators are only available in the main Tumblr search bar. They don’t work in the search bar in individual blogs.
The search operators only work on posts created in 2017 or later.
OK! Let’s go explore these operators!
Exact phrase match
When you surround your query with regular double quotes (not curly quotes), it will match posts with that exact phrase in the post's text content, or that exact phrase as a tag.
For example, "chappell roan is roan of arc" matches posts with that exact phrase in the content, and also matches posts that have the exact tag #chappell roan is roan of arc.
Tumblr media
Match operator
By default, the query matches the post on either the text or the tags.
You can use match:text to specify you want to search the post content, or match:tags to search the post tags. For example:
sword world match:text looks for posts with the words "sword" and "world" in the post content.
sword world match:tags looks for posts with the words "sword" and "world" in the post tags.
Tumblr media
From operator
Use from:blog or from:@blog to find only posts by a particular blog.
For example, halloween from:staff finds all posts by @staff that has the word "halloween" in the post content or tags.
Tumblr media
Year operator
Use year:YYYY to find posts from a particular year.
For example, halloween year:2019 finds all posts from 2019 that has the word "halloween" in the post content or tags.
Tumblr media
Date operator
Use date:YYYY-MM-DD to find posts from a particular date.
For example, halloween date:2019-10-08 finds all posts created on October 8, 2019 that has the word "halloween" in the post content or tags.
Tumblr media
All together
You can combine all the tools above to form even more specific queries:
Tumblr media
Congrats! You’re now a Tumblr search wizard! 🪄
Other syntax
As a reminder, you can already search by a tag, or by multiple tags:
Prefixing your query with # performs a tag search — that is, it will find posts with that exact tag. For example, #star wars will only return posts with the #star wars tag.
You can search for multiple tags at at time. For example, #star wars #art will find posts that are tagged with both the tag #star wars and the tag #art.
You can combine this with the new operators to find what you are looking for!
We will add a guide for this new syntax soon to our Help Center.
Tumblr Patio support
The enhanced syntax makes Tumblr Patio even more powerful. You can now open multiple search columns each with different fine-tuned queries that use the syntax above to get you customized feeds.
Feedback
We’d love to hear what you think! Please share your feedback in the replies and reblogs of this post, or by reaching out to Tumblr Support.

I remember when I was young, going from Disney sitcoms to Teen Nick sitcoms where they were allowed to say “Oh my god,” and I thought that was the edgiest shit, ever.
