Hello! And sorry for the long hiatus, college is still beating my ass in the back alley of a chipotle.

To try to relax I’ve been rewatching some cartoons, mainly the original X-men currently. And I have come to quite a few realizations.

First is that gambit has always been and will always be the coolest person in any room

Second is that I actually like cyclops more than wolverine in this show

Third is that cyclops fans and Wolverine fans are just two subspecies of the same larger species, namely people with daddy issues

And finally is that Wolverine was actually kinda weird in the og show. Like there’s a scene where he’s in bed looking at a photo of Jean and Scott, cuts Scott out of the photo and just looks at jean. Jean has also shown repeatedly that she’s happy with and really loves Scott but Logan keeps butting in, its a bit sad really but also the type of thing that if it happened in real life would be pretty creepy.

Needless to say that although I’m happy with what they’ve been doing with wolverines character I wish it didn’t have to come so often with the flanderization of cyclops.

Record of Ragnarok x blue exorcist

This isn’t a full blown au but more of an idea, feel free to take this idea and make something of it

The idea is what if rin okumura from blue exorcist was in record of ragnarok. I know the mythologies are a little different especially with beelzebub, so for the demon world building I’ll be using the blue exorcist world with the character beelezebub as well as the other character coming from ror.

Imagine rin as a fighter in ragnarok, the half-breed son of the demon king fighting for humanity. Imagine the other gods reaction, some might feel betrayed, after all his entire purpose is to destroy humanity, some might feel disgusted by him due to his half human nature. Not to mention the other fighters.

I feel like rin would have a very good relationship with Adam. I feel like rin really needs a good father figure who didn’t die protecting him and Adam is shown to be a caring protective father to the whole of humanity.

I just feel like it’d be an interesting idea.

Sorry I’ve been on hiatus for so long. College has been kicking my ass and I just haven’t been feeling as creative as normal. I tend to have short bursts of creativity followed by very long periods of time where it feels like I can’t write or draw anything.

In regards to my hazbin posts, I personally have kinda left hazbin hotel, I might get around to drawing my Caine character but other than that I don’t see myself posting more hazbin content.

I’ve been getting into other fandoms so I might start posting that.

Design concept

These are a few ideas that aren’t fully fleshed out and might not make it to the final design I mainly want to see how they’d look drawn together which will happen later.

When it comes to his outfit I’m still keeping the outdoorsy style and color palette but I was thinking of incorporating some small cowboy elements to tie back to Satan as in this au Satan was the one who essentially almost tricked Abel into sinning and forced Cain to kill Abel to protect him and in Hazbin hotel the way a sinner dies and how they lived often influence some of the design elements of the character. They would also be tied together as in a previous post I mentioned that Cain would oversee hells agriculture and in helluva boss Satan oversees the wrath ring which is farmlands with a cowboy aesthetic. It wouldn’t be anything big like maybe a buckle or a jacket.

I also mentioned in the previous design post that Cain I was debating if I wanted Cain to have wings. I’m still on the fence about this but I have a few ideas on how it would go. The wings would tie Cain to his family and his heavenly past as he’s the son of Adam the first man, if I were to go through with it though I would imagine his wings being damaged or even atypical where instead of coming out of his back they might come out of his head or his feet. It might even be where instead of full on wings he might just have clusters of feathers on his limbs and other areas. I do know that if I go down this route I want his wings to be ravens because it would work in contrast to the wings heaven, imply some classic fallen Angel imagery, as well as how ravens are viewed in most cultures especially the Bible. Although ravens are often viewed as symbols of bad omens and unclean it is also viewed in the Bible as being associated with prophetic wisdom, gods will in mysterious circumstances, and more importantly gods unconventional ways of provision which would tie neatly with this version of Cains unconventional way of protecting his brother.

Again these ideas aren’t finalized as i want to iron a few more things out not to mention that I don’t want the design to get to overcrowded.

Cain design

So for cain I’m imagining him have to forms his human and his demon form.

His human form is essentially just a man but I imagine him as a more stocky and built character due to his past as a farmer as well as giving off more dad vibes. In both forms I think of him wearing more modern clothes which would contrast with his brother and father who would wear more traditional clothing to show how they’re more stuck in the past and are trying to reclaim it while Cain is more focused on the future and trying to move on and repent for his past.

For his demon form I did a bit of research into symbols of Cain other than his mark and found some pretty interesting things. In the book of dreams by Enoch, Enoch essentially assigns a animal symbol to each person with Adam being a white bull, Abel being a red bull, and Cain being a black bull and while this is cool I found something that I personally like a little bit more. Instead of a black bull it would make more sense thematically in this au for Cain to be a dog, specifically a type of farming dog. The reasoning behind this is that some scholars think that the mark of Cain might have been a dog because in the Bible dogs are seen as violent, unclean, disobedient to god and sinful. Obviously in more modern times this has changed in the western world with dogs being looks at as symbols of loyalty, protection, guidance, and bravery. This would parallel how people view Cain pretty cleanly and might influence how people especially heaven view him where once they viewed him as being sinful now they start to view him as a martyr they also might think that hell is keeping hims chained and collared and that hey have to free him.

His demon form despite having dog features would have be more human elements to differentiate him from hellhounds he might have wings I don’t know I’m still deciding on that aspect.

I did some research on color symbolism on the Bible and his primary color would be green as it symbolizes vegetation and new beginnings as well as being a reference to green with envy when people thought that’s why he killed his brother. His secondary colors would be gold to symbolize purification through fire and scarlet. I know that Hazbin hotel is pretty over saturated in reds but there is a reason for this. In the book of Isaiah scarlet is viewed as representing sin but in the book of Daniel it’s viewed as loyalty.

When it comes to outfits I again imagine him in more modern clothes in an outdoorsy fashion to show his love of nature. He would have more royal outfits whenever he’s with the royal family but he prefers comfort over fashion. I think it would look cool if he had gold embellishments of wheat on his outfit or as his crown when he’s all dressed up.

I have an idea that because he can no longer grow earth plants and only hell plants, he’s taken to making metal replicas of the earth plants to bring with him down to hell as a comfort. He might even be wearing some.

This might sound weird but I imagine him having this soft dad energy and just generally being a really sweet guy who’s just trying to live life while repenting for the murder. I’ll work on drawing the ideas once I get my art supplies back.

More ideas for the Cain au

This is mainly regarding the mark of Cain and his lifestyle.

The mark of Cain in the Bible is a mark that denotes Cain as a murderer as well as cursing him where he will wander the earth and nothing he plants will grow. The mark also tells others not to kill Cain as any damage received by him is returned two fold.

In this au he still has the mark bug it only works on earthly plants which gives him even more reason to stay in hell.

I imagine that Cain can travel between hell and earth because of the whole “wander the earth thing” and when he does go to earth he likes to enjoy nature as a kind of reminder of when he was a farmer.

Personality wise I think that Cain feelings about the murder. He feels intense guilt at what he did and because of this is pretty much a pacifist as well as being protective of those he cares about in a “I already failed once” kinda way. He is pretty introverted as he did spend years wandering the earth alone until the Morningstars took him in. In the Bible he also has a few kids and some living descendants and as him being the child of the first humans I’d imagine him viewing humanity as family either like either his children or his nieces/nephews so he cares deeply for them and that’s why he’s helping Charlie with her hotel. In this au he’s already proven how far he’ll go to ensure his family’s place in heaven.

When it comes to the exorcists part of the reason for their existence might also be to try to locate Cain and bring him to heaven. As well as the cherubs when they go to earth as he can be in either place.

I’m working on some designs for Cain but I don’t have access to my usual art supplies so my next post will probably be describing the designs and the design process and reason behind the decisions. I’m also working on a name for the au. I’m thinking of “hotels keeper” in reference to Cain saying “am I my brothers keeper” to god after he killed him. It’s not official or anything.

Yandere hazbin Hotel x Cain Reader headcannon

This has supernatural elements mainly the idea that the reason why Cain killed Abel wasn’t out of jealousy but because whenever Abel thought he was talking to god it was actually Lucifer (satan in this case) so to protect his brother from sin Cain made a deal with Lucifer (satan) where he would guarantee Abel a place in heaven while Cain would be condemned to hell forcing Cain to kill his brother and becoming his soldier after his death.

Once Cain is in hell I’d like to imagine that the Morningstar family take him in because Lucifer might feel bad about the whole Satan thing and also because they’re kinda related because of the whole Adam, Lilith and eve thing. To pay them back for taking him in Cain becomes Charlie’s bodyguard (before Vaggie does) to parody the whole “soldier of Satan thing”. I also imagine the Morningstars as platonic yanderes each one a little different from the last but they all work together to keep Cain with them and away from heaven. After all even before he sinned he was the least favorite child with heaven and Adam preferring Abel so they clearly don’t deserve Cain based on how they’ve treated him.

This would make Cain a pseudo royal member who I imagine as a very responsible and caring person after all he sacrificed his after life for his brother.

Meanwhile in heaven after their deaths Adam, Abel and the rest of heaven find out the real reason why Cain killed Abel and most of them start to realize their mistake. Abel and Adam would also be platonic yanderes with Adam’s take being that he wants his brother back Ann he finally understands his mistake so why can’t he have his brother. Adam on the other hand is a bit more complicated there are two parts of him where one just wants his son back but the other larger part views his kids as his possessions and what hell did as stealing after all Lucifer already stole Lilith (and eve maybe?) and as the person whose subordinates go down to hell he’s probably given the order where Cain isn’t to be killed and if they can try to “bring him back home”. Heaven definitely uses Cain as propaganda against hell martyring him to a degree for his noble sacrifice and this actually causes some people to be more open to Charlie’s hotel idea because it might be a chance to have Cain where he rightfully belongs. Cain of course knows none of this and if he did would want know part of it as he’s quite happy with his new family who love him very much.

Other ideas for Cain is that when Charlie makes her hotel Cain goes with her to still protect her but not to an insane degree (vaggie is still head of security) but he also might have a little garden or farm at the hotel to give the sinners a more productive hobby. He also would oversee hells agriculture as he was a farmer when he was alive.

I’ll probably put more specific aspects like specific characters and Cains role in the story in different posts but when I do I’ll make sure to link them to a master list
