Story Summary:
Phoenix disappears and then returns. He returns after several years presumed dead, with the same wide open smile but sharper eyes, wearing his badge but employed in the offices of Kristoph Gavin. Phoenix doesn't have an explanation for any of it. He's silent, he's distant. There is a new disdain for the law and a greater determination to see the entire legal system completely torn apart and built again. He returns, with allegations of premeditated murder stacked on his shoulders. Miles can't reconcile the Phoenix that left and the Phoenix that came back. Kristoph can— and in that respect, they are two very different men.
