hey!!!!! so, i'm getting into leftism, and i've been looking at this account, and i have a question, because of something i saw on the pinned post. what exactly is guevarism? i know he documented some stuff but i just figured he was a marxist-leninist, but it seems like bunny is saying it's distinct. could they maybe elaborate on that??

tysm for ur question, and ur pretty right when you say he was a marxist-leninist, but he did have some distinct ways of thinking, and did publish a few manifesto-like works alive and post-mortem, but one example of his concepts is the new man, which kinda put forward a form of humanist socialism that was different than ml, and caring about the state of the individual worker who can then be subsumed into the proletariat!! he also thought that there should be a vanguard, but run more by small groups rather than a single party. so thats cool, and mao had a similar approach, and in my ideal state, the two ideals would be mixed together. i hope this helps!

it is so strange to me how much documented hispanic immigrants and earlier immigrants will look down upon documented immigrants. like, it wasn't until 1941, and later in 1978 that passports were adopted formally and required. the ancestors of modern italian-americans, german-americans, and irish-americans came with little to no documents, and also faced a nativist movement that did everything in their power to stop them getting there. that being said, most documented hispanic immigrants didn't come until the 60s and 80s, and in the scheme of things, at most have only been here for two-three generations, and yet still, many see themselves as above undocumented immigrants. it sorta reminds me of how prior to the haitian revolution, free blacks would believe that they were better than slaves because they were free, and relatively wealthy, some not even considering themselves black. may it also be noted that free blacks who owned slaves were killed during and in the immediate aftermath of the revolution, for being no better than their oppressors.
