I kind of agree with the angle this anon is seeing and I agree with you on it being a tabloid with very little validity to its reputation, I'd add that if even a slightly more "reputable" publication were to post about this perhaps they would use less "inflammatory" phrasing or "quotes" and would leave out the part where Reynolds allegedly stated that "If they [CE and AB] ever needed the same in return it would be given" (paraphrased as I don't have the reference). I don't fully believe the article. The angle the previous anon mentions - TikTok gossip accounts would make giant waves if there were more juice to the headline and a wider selection of sources to cite since this one alone would just blend into the sea of other articles about other celebrities allegedly supporting Reynolds and Lively. The problem is that if tumblr blogs are being gaslit a tag on Insta or TikTok may face censorship as well. I guess we'd have to wait for it to possibly spread if there was ever any validity to the sensationalized headline. Again I don't believe that it's true necessarily, but Evans and Reynolds being brought up together at this juncture may at most create a slight ripple in the discourse about Reynolds and Lively.

Just a consideration and I might be wrong, I was just chewing on this so I thought I'd bring it up, do with it what you will.

I just try to ensure people stay safe online as everyone and every type of person can be online and idk it’s easy to get lost in the fantasy of things I guess. I try not to judge, but in the same breath….. boundaries.

So yep, it’s been very fascinating witnessing things and I understand we all have opinions and theories but they are just that, no one knows facts or else I doubt anyone would still be here trying to prove or questioning anything.

Hollywood is a weird place and seems even weirder being on the outside looking in, but things could be as they seem, deeper behind the scenes or we all could be on point in our speculation.

At the end of the day this is Chris’ life and career and Hollywood is a business and doesn’t or shouldn’t affect anyone past a certain point. We don’t know him but as a human, many are just concerned and as far as people in this fandom, I’ve seen people do things that give me red flags so I like to warn other people so if I need to step in and address things I see could possibly go left, I do. ☺️

Besides this shitshow has nothing on the actual real life mess of politics going on in the US and the ramifications of Trump and his piss poor decisions, so I completely understand people using celeb culture as a distraction or break from real life, sometimes we all need something that brings us comfort or entertainment, but we also have to keep in mind the reality of the illusion Hollywood sells and how it’s just putting money in others pockets.

And thank you for looking out for me and everyone else. I absolutely agree with you about celebrity culture being a fair distraction during these times for those who can afford to redirect their attention elsewhere, with every horrible news story coming out on a daily basis, also that we should be careful about whose pockets we're putting our money in. It's truly devastating knowing that families are being displaced and that the morality of racial injustice is viewed as a debate as opposed to racial injustice and violence being viewed as strictly immoral and unacceptable, meanwhile the average person witnessing all of this from a distance can at best donate, organize relief for those affected, help raise awareness and maybe pray for less future destruction and for discrimination to end, while grateful to not be experiencing the same violence. Peace and stability for all shouldn't be luxuries afforded by geographical privilege, they should be universal.

As far as CE goes I think yes of course his life his choices, and his disaster of a PR marriage shouldn't consume the entirety of one's day. I do also believe that his silence being seen as partial complicity is in no way unearned, and that he's made one major mistake of involving himself in politics via his failing platform, as himself somebody who can at best give a few short platitudes in a given discussion and be praised for this bare minimum contribution unless he himself is donating to the appropriate causes. He doesn't have the necessary education and openly discussing politics with your family doesn't follow an ideal educational protocol no matter where your family stands, that may just be my personal bias.

But do I really wholeheartedly believe his participation makes or breaks the political crisis? No. I believe he's highly politically irrelevant. He's rarely directly spoken out about anything globally relevant in the past few years which isn't a good look. His "slip-ups" are so frequent for someone I didn't really hear about too often for 2 decades that it's hard to believe they're just "mistakes".

As I've stated in my pinned community note, I rarely believe a celebrity relationship is real as they come and go too fast at times that look too convenient and frankly this is the first time I've ever been called to consider that an actor is in a "relationship" usually I just follow their contribution to the arts - I was like this with CE until recently when I had to hear him regurgitate the same 5-ish barely sellable, contextually at best barely relevant, bits information about the "wife" every single interview, while consistently looking like he'd taken 3 exams the same day on 30 minutes of sleep (been there).

Curiosity got me here, from being blissfully unaware of his PR shitshow and just checking his career's pulse every few months to now knowing information that prompted me to reopen Tumblr after a decade because simply infodumping on a friend would be exhausting for them. Why? Because everything CE puts out is overshadowed by the PR marriage with an individual that happens to only be seen on the same continent as him with the same frequency of a Venus retrograde but with a shorter duration, somebody who has allowed for damning evidence against her to be found - by providing it herself. I would like to say that I was originally willing to dismiss the little I knew about her as early to mid 20's stupidity, but it has been made abundantly clear to me that what has been pointed out about her isn't just a phase or at least shouldn't be treated as one. I think CE himself is too old to be behaving the way he has been as well. And I agree, everyone is mainly concerned about his well-being, a caring fanbase would be concerned to see someone formerly as vital as him now appear hollow and exhausted beyond comprehension.

One can only hope that there's nothing actually insidious going on in the background. "Don't meet your idols" applies far too often, it would be unpleasant and disappointing to receive actual undeniable confirmation that he is in fact a horrible person, but as far as Hollywood goes - not surprising. I don't fully believe CE is evil incarnate, he might just be negligent (which isn't great). I do think he should take some accountability for what he realistically could be guilty of which us fans can only speculate and dig for proof of. And I'd like more Dodger content!
