I want a girl with a mind like a diamond I want a girl who knows what's best I want a girl with shoes that cut And eyes that burn like cigarettes
I want a girl with the right allocations Who's fast, thorough, and sharp as a tack She's playing with her jewelry She's putting up her hair She's touring the facilities And picking up slack I want a girl with a short skirt and a long jacket.

Eliza was almost certain she was in some state of shock. For what was probably only the third time in her entire life, she was practically speechless. Hearing Stella speak, she was also made painfully aware of the fact that her heart did not in fact stop, a fact only made clearly the second she heard that nickname. She hadn’t heard it in pretty much a decade, and yet hearing it now felt the same as it did then, as if she’d never stopped hearing it. It was at least half a minute before she realized Stella had stopped talking and that it was her turn. Try as she might to make her brain form actual words, all she could focus on other than the fact that Stella was actually in front of her was the fact that she was absolutely, undeniably beautiful. No, beautiful wasn’t the right word. Beautiful couldn’t even begin to touch her. She was abso-fucking-lutely stunning. And that’s exactly how Eliza felt at that moment. Completely and utterly stunned. All of the emotions she’d avoided over the years were pounding in her chest and she was almost positive that she would die if she didn’t either wake up right now or have the option to stand in that exact moment for the next few decades at the very least. Straightening herself, she crossed her arms over her chest in a last ditch effort to make her look composed and unfeeling, though she was pretty sure it only made her look smaller. That’s definitely how she felt, at least. “I’m fine.” She lied quickly, hoping the fast pace would hide the slight shakiness in her tone. “What are you even doing here?” Why here? Why now? Out of all of the places in the world? “I mean, I always thought you’d end up somewhere way bigger than some place full of people that aren’t even interesting enough for me to put names to faces yet, and that’s after 7 years.” You’re better than this place. Eliza’s tone was joking, and she gave the brunette a soft smile, but even she knew it didn’t quite reach her eyes. “Anyways, I would have had to have had some signal that you were even alive to stalk you, so you were pretty lucky until the last few yards.” I missed you and I hated it. She kept up her playful tone, hoping it would be enough and that Stella couldn’t still see through her after all this time, even if part of her secretly hoped she could. At least it would mean that just maybe she still thought of her half as much as the blonde did her.
Tumblr media
Although the shock of seeing Eliza in front of her, or the shock of having her come up behind her, was undeniably a huge one Stella had managed to keep a lid on that emotion in order to convey speech. Something that she saw Eliza was having more of an issue with. Even after she’d lapsed into silence it continued, leaving her wondering if the girl might actually be angry at her for some reason, hence why she wasn’t saying a word. Eyebrows raised for a second as if it indicate it was no longer her turn to speak, Stella looked at the blonde, willing her to say something so she could work out if she was in the dog house. It had been so long since they saw each other, so much had changed, she didn’t know if she’d done something wrong without realizing it. “Liza babe, it’s your turn to speak, that’s how conversations work.” The woman gave her a small verbal nudge, lips tweaking up in a smirk because her amusment at the others facial expression was undeniable. The way the words came out when she finally did speak did nothing to help Stella understand the situation. In fact they just made it more confusing. She wanted to give her friend a hug, but the arms across the chest made it look like that was the last thing in the world she wanted. “Yeah? Alright, if you say so. I moved over here with my boyfriend, his family live here so we decided to spend some time a little closer to them. What are you doing here?” She shot right back, wondering if the mention of her other half was going to get the girls back up even more, she was treading on eggshells which was an odd feeling when she was with Eliza, it had never been like that before. “America was getting old fast, I thought I’d test out European life for a little while. See what all the fuss is about. Plus I can run the magazine from here since i’m only heading up the online division at the moment, the move seemed like it came at the right time.” Not to mention it will be good to be somewhere slower when I end up having this baby. Of course she didn’t say that, instead she just gave Eliza a winning smile, almost batting her eyelashes in a way she knew would send the girls head spinning because it always had, unless things had changed drastically in the missing years. “You almost ran me over like a bulldozer, I think it was a lucky escape although I don’t know for which one of us. You know you don’t want to come up against me princess, even if i haven’t seen you in a while i’ll still beat you in a throw down.” She was teasing of course, Stella would never touch a single hair on the other girls head, not in a million years, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t joke about it. “Come on let’s go and get a coffee, the water here is shit I don’t want to stand outside all day.” She finally instructed with authority.

It had been a damn long day, though that wasn’t anything new. For Eliza, pretty much every single day that involved leaving wherever she happened to be sleeping ended up being a damn long day. Feeling for the keys in her pocket, she sighed heavily and began her walk down the sidewalk, eyes narrowing in annoyance as she saw someone on the sidewalk a good few feet in front of her, walking slowly enough that Eliza was catching up rather quickly and it was becoming incredibly obvious that she was going to have to slow down to avoid running into them or having to play the bitch once again by asking them to move. It was barely another second before the blonde started feeling uneasy, the reason for the feeling becoming more obvious as she got closer. The person in front of her, even though there was still a pretty good distance between them, seemed..familiar, somehow. The way they carried themselves, the way they walked, something about them felt like something Eliza would have recognized years ago. As she got closer, the same feeling got stronger before she finally brushed it off, almost laughing at how ridiculous she was being. Of course she probably knew them. Who hadn’t she either sassed, amused, or pissed off into tears in Dublin? It shouldn’t be surprising if someone was familiar, and even less surprising if she couldn’t figure out why. It’s not like she put major effort into remembering anything about anyone any more. So why did this feel - different? Something new yet so old? Realizing that staying behind them wouldn’t do anything but give her way too much time to think and overthink, she reached out as she neared them, tapping not-so-lightly on their shoulder. “Excuse me, but your admittedly perfect ass is completely blocking the walk for people who actually have somewhere to be.” She fired off passive-aggressively, a smug grin on her face. That is, until they turned around. She practically felt her heart jump into her throat and stop in the same instant as her eyes met the ones in front of her, causing her words to come out barely above a whisper. “What the hell…Stella?”
Tumblr media
Scrolling through an instagram feed it was surprising that Stella had bothered to leave the house at all. It’s not like she was taking in anything that was going on around her, instead she was looking at the feed of photos just as she would have been inside, trawling to see if she could find anything usable on the magazines’ website. The sooner she found the images the sooner she could start the arduous process of contacting the owners to get permission, it was the part of the job she hated the most and would often pawn off to one of the interns. Only problem was it was either do it herself here or have to face the mountain of boxes that were still piled up in her new living room, an even less appealing idea if that was even possible. Hearing someone over her left shoulder the girls face turned to a look of steely annoyance, did no one in this god forsaken country have any manners, there was nothing worse than having her neck breathed down when she was trying to mind her own business. On the brink of spinning on her heel to tell them to back off when she heard them speak, stopping her in her tracks. Firstly they had complimented her ass which was never a bad thing, but secondly almost at exactly the same time, she got a feeling in the pit of her stomach that she knew that voice from somewhere before. Her head snapped around and before the woman knew what had happed her eyes had landed on none other than Eliza Raven, one of her brothers old girlfriends, or more to the point one of her old….friends. Her eyebrows all but disappeared into her hairline with shock, a bemused grin breaking out onto her lips. “Hey princess, fancy seeing you here. Have you been stalking me a while or just the last couple of hundred yards?” Her tone was teasing, smirk to match as her dark brown eyes flicked across the blonde in front of her. She looked good, really good, they hadn’t seen each other in a couple of years but honestly Eliza hadn’t changed much. She had always been a looker, apparently she still was. “You alright?”

Stella had been in the apartment for the last couple of hours unpacking more boxes and now she well and truly had cabin fever. The woman knew pretty much nothing about Dublin, apart from the few things she’d read in the guidebook on the plane over before falling dead asleep. That would be enough though, it couldn’t be that complicated of a town right? As she crossed the entrance hall of her apartment block looking at her phones display she all but ran into someone, literally, making her look up with a jolt. “Oh shit! You’d have thought these heeled boots would be enough of an announcment warning for my presence.” She couldn’t help but laugh.

Stella Ursha - Biography
Death tw
Stella Ursha was born in Chicago in the middle of a blizzard, and it is possible that froze her heart. Maybe not that bad, but the woman is known to be ruthless and driven if she wants something, not letting emotion get in the way of reaching the goal. Her father is a former marine who was killed on his eighth tour of Afghanistan in 2014, and her mother was the head of human resources at a tech company before becoming a stay at home mother when her children were born, wanting to look after her children herself instead of passing the job off to a nanny. Since their father passed she has been committing herself to working for veteran related charities to try and commemorate their fathers memory, but she is a shell of who she once was thanks to the tragic event.
When she was only twelve the girl began to get interested in fashion, pouring over the magazines she would find in doctors offices, hair salons, on her mothers coffee table, and anywhere else she could get her hands on them. There was something other worldly about the photos in their glossy covers and she decided pretty quickly that she wanted to one day create her own magazine to further push the boundaries of what fashion could be or could represent. When she graduated from UCLA at twenty three she set up Upwards Magazine, what had former been a campus centric publication quickly became nationwide, before becoming a worldwide attraction thanks to it’s launch online in 2013. At first the woman was incredibly hands on, taking a lot of the photos included in the content herself, writing the odd article, and meticulously checking every page before it went to print. Work consumed her. This magazine was her baby and when her father passed away she used it as a way to channel her emotions in order to be able to get on with her life when all she wanted to do was break down as much on the outside as she was on the inside.
They were a very close family, even when the girl was away at collage her younger brother Archie would come and visit at least once a semester so they could spend time together. They were best friends, therefore his girlfriend were often friends of Stella’s by default just through her extreme need to vet them before she would give them her blessing. Not all passed, she was not an easy woman to please by any stretch of the imagination. When Stella and her boyfriend decided they were going to move to Dublin to be nearer to his family for a while her brother was furious. Feeling like his sister was abandoning him and his mother, he refused to speak to her, not uttering a single word to her since that moment right up to this one. It played heavily on Stella’s mind a lot of the time, she felt like she’d let him down, but there was a reason for her agreeing to go despite the anger it had caused and that was the baby. Not long before they left she found out she was pregnant, something she hadn’t told anyone, which spurred her to go in order to have a slightly calmer day to day life. She appointed an editor in chief for the physical magazine back in the states and became the head of running their online presence, something she could do no matter how pregnant she was, and could carry on with once the baby arrived.
This didn’t mean she’d let go of the physical magazine by any sense of the word, in fact her boyfriend and herself get in a lot of arguments on how hard she is still holding onto control even from half way across the world. She is dedicated, controlling, vicious, and incredibly sharp when it comes to her work, and pulls no punches whatsoever. She is also loyal, very, if you’re on her good side then you are protected for life. If you’re on her bad side though, you might as well be in the arctic tundra because you’ll feel like you are.

Hey y’all - it’s me again!
New character alert! This is Stella, she is awesome, i’m excited. Okay cool. As per usual hit me up for plotting or connections! Or like this and i’ll reach out to you etc :)
⤥ have you seen STELLA URSHA? the TWENTY SEVEN year old CIS FEMALE that looks a lot like PHOEBE TONKIN? it’s always hard to catch the MAGNET since they work as a OWNER AND EDITOR OF UPWARD ONLINE MAGAZINE; no wonder STELL is said to be BOSSY & ABRASIVE TRAIT, but my mate insists they can be quite WITTY & CHARISMATIC on a better day. do you think it’s true SHE is from CHICAGO? wait, i think i hear SHORT SKIRT/LONG JACKET by  CAKE - they must be nearby.
Death tw
Stella was born in Boston, went to UCLA, then was between Boston and New York until about 3 days ago when she moved to Dublin with her boyfriend (currently a NPC but if you wanna fill the connection i’d be DOWN. Putting up a WC in a second.)
She owns and runs a fashion magazine called Upwards which is a physical publication in the USA and an online magazine everywhere else. She’s now running the online one since she moved to Dublin, anouther Editor in Chief running the physical one back from America but she’s still VERY much in control of both.
She’s six weeks pregnant, has told no one, it’s still under wraps. Even her boyfriend doesn’t know at this point.
Her father was a marine, he died in 2014, her mother is a stay at home mother, she has one brother called Archie who’s 25.
She was very close to her brother until she moved, now he won’t speak to her which tears her apart A LOT.
She is vicious, smart, funny, and pretty damn scary when she wants to be. She’s extremely loyal, passionate, and can be a bit of a rebel.
OKAY COOL
