Daryl Dixon’s Vest Headcanon

I came up with this the other day when I was watching season two of twd. I noticed during the episode that Daryl hallucinated Merle that Merle’s vest was similar to Daryls one, at first thinking it was Daryls. They both have the laces down the side.

Shortly after this episode the angel wings vest appeared.

Those wings look really new to me, made with not a lot of skill but with a lot of feeling.

I think Daryl sewed the wings on to a vest Merle left behind. I imagine it was out of love to his brother, exceptance that he’ll probably won’t ever see him again, and if not love then a bit of acceptance of himself. It represents something to Daryl, anyway.

I really think this is how the vest came about. Daryls so withdrawn, penting up all of his emotions, I think that he must sometimes express his feelings in artistic ways and that he likes to keep keepsakes, like Beth’s knife.

You can love a character and still admit when they're wrong!! I love Usopp but I can acknowledge his flaws (he has none) and can hold him accountable for his wrongdoings (he's never done anything wrong in his life) and call him out for his actions (which are always correct).

Love referring to characters who are never seen without each other as "bonded pairs" like yuuuup. if you put these two in separate cages they're gonna get real sad and anxious and possibly violent too, one of em is biting the bars as we speak. you gotta adopt both of them or none at all, it is encouraged that you take them both. they are most likely to thrive if they stick together. it is easier for them to get used to new environments and situations because they have each other. they do everything together because they love each other so so much. you COULD separate them but it's gonna do a lot of psychological damage and it's gonna lead to a lot of issues and there's a big possibility they'll never be the same again

I know this is going to make me sound pretensions but I have to get it off my chest. I feel an unimaginable rage when someone posts a photo and is like "this picture looks like a renaissance painting lol" when the photo clearly has the lighting, colors and composition of a baroque or romantic painting. There are differences in these styles and those differences are important and labeling every "classical" looking painting as renaissance is annoying and upsetting to me. And anytime I come across one of those posts I have to put down my phone and go take a walk because they make me so mad
