Lady of the Flies-0013 by Nthmetal Justice Via Flickr: We don't hold back at all, fighting as though there's no tomorrow to down the demon as quickly as possible. Talona grants his body to her flies. 

 "You have done well. Especially this one," she adresses the fly-devil who carried her to the secret room and then here. "I appoint you as queen."

What follows is an orgy among the fly-devils. Nimue calls forth our tower - this room here is big enough to hold it, even if only barely - so we don't need to watch.

Lady of the Flies-0012 by Nthmetal Justice Via Flickr: He wants to go after Talona, sensing in her his natural enemy, and for a moment it does look dangerous, as he can daze with his attacks. But Shiel can shake off the effect soon enough to follow the demon.

With Kerrick and Shiel flanking the demon, Kerrick can lay down a lot of damage. Nimue tries for a double lightning-attack, but is only half successful.

Talona can even convince the flies that now is the time to move against the demons hiding in the flesh tunnels: "I will lead you to victory against the demons."

Suddenly her hunters are snatched from below: A demon pulls the devils through the wall.

Lady of the Flies-0006 by Nthmetal Justice Via Flickr: Sure enough, there is a passage into the secret room, where Talona can take her time to examine the treasures, secretly pick some parts and overpower the artifact of Chauntea with her own hellish power. Only then she opens the door.

Lady of the Flies-0005 by Nthmetal Justice Via Flickr: "Can you bring me into the room behind this door?", Talona asks in the infernal tongue, and without us understanding what's going on, the fly-devil swoops her up and carries her off, recognizing her power in the nine hells.

Lady of the Flies-0004 by Nthmetal Justice Via Flickr: As we learn, these are fly-devils left here by Ba'elzebul, the fallen archdevil. Abandoned, they have founded their own colony, but quickly recognize the power Talona holds. They are eager to serve her.

Lady of the Flies-0002 by Nthmetal Justice Via Flickr: As we don't hear anything from the flesh tunnel, but a strange buzzing from behind the barricade, we opt to check it out before taking the risk of simply resting here.  The barricade is quickly relocated to block the entry of the flesh tunnel.

Behind the barricaded door we find what was once a temple of Chauntea. It has been desecrated, there are holes in the upper region of this hall, though the lower half is still intact, protected by only slowly fading magic. The head of the statue representing Chauntea has been removed. Instead antlers are rammed into the stone. While this appears disturbing to most of us, Talona is less impressed. She can feel the pull of an artifact nearby, a piece of Chauntea's Horn of Plentiful. Sure enough, there is a hidden door beside the altar, but no apparent way to open it, as far as Kerrick can tell. Maybe magic can do something about it?

Lady of the Flies-0001 by Nthmetal Justice Via Flickr: After the fight with the undead, we decide to rest. The others are unsure whether we want to rest above, using our transportable tower, or below in old cellars. The downside with using the cellars should be obvious. We're playing Dungeons & Dragons, after all. The downside with resting above is, that we're putting a 30' tower out in the open. Anyone paying attention is not going to miss that. And we definitely don't wanna rest above, unprotected, with undead patrolling the streets.

In the end we decide to head down below, and find a room, which is curiously barricaded from this side. Through a hole in the wall (barely visible in this photo) we can peer into a familiar decaying flesh tunnel.

The barricade is old, or at least made out of vintage material; not dating to ancient Myth Drannor , but surely a hundred years aged. It's not possible for us to tell, whether these pieces of furniture have been set against the door recently, or if it happened a century ago.

Lady of the Flies by Nthmetal Justice Via Flickr: Just as the heroes thought they were done with the Devourer and the flesh tunnels, they discover another one in the ruins of Myth Drannor.

Menace of Myth Drannor-0006 by Nthmetal Justice Via Flickr: However, the ent managed not only to knock Talona prone, but almost kills her. When the undead soldiers move in to finish the job, Nimue unleashes an assault of radiant damage, which takes care of that and thus saves Talona. Then she moves forward to support Shiel, who is only prone and restrained, but not out. He was dazed for a moment, but when Kerrick attacks, Shiel can act again, so that our rogue can sneak attack.

Thanks to the massive damage before, and taking care of the rider and undead thanks to luck and the right attacks, the ent then isn't that much of an issue anymore. Like this we can save Talona; Nimue takes care of her wounds.
