It warms my heart to watch everyone Tobias comes into contact with immediately assume that he's a free man who does anything he wants whenever he wants it, considering his whole life has been people (his parents, Wammy's) trying to subjugate him into having no self-identity and being their obedient discardable pawn

Blud's whole life is being forced into being a puppet #First by his parents who wanted a guard dog; then by Wammy's who wanted a genius who'll live & die for their cause;#afterwards by the 'father' he had for a few months who wanted an obedient genius who'll boost his mafia's rep & $#Not ONCE has he been free in his first 16 years of life and yet he's the personification of freedom to more people than I can count 🥱#Real tho. His parents tried to subdue him. He killed them. Wammy's tried to subdue him. He squeezed them out of everything #they could offer him then left & managed to manipulate his circumstances into being a W for himself by being allowed to access #Wammy funds & contacts & fellow agents while only really picking up ~1-2 tasks for the orphanage whenever HE feels like it #& when his other 'father' (who Tobias manipulated into adopting him) acted exactly how Tobias thought he would; he killed HIM too #Bro IS emancipation & liberation. Despite always being in shackles no one's ever TRULY managed to shackle him to them 😭#& I lovelovelove how he's perceived as sb who does whatever he feels like. bc he DOES!! but he's never telling ppl jack shit about himself #so they'll never know he's had to fight against everyone & everything daily since he was born to be able to do w/e tf he wants #I also think that despite being a piece of shit; it's symbolic how Tobias has helped SEVERAL ppl (re)gain their autonomy?#He keeps coming across ppl who've been sl*ves or otherwise ppl who've never been allowed to choose for themselves in their life & he just?#keeps liberating them?? he isn't kind so that's typically Not what he goes in to do but he somehow keeps doing it???#Either he ends up liking a person in a situation like that & he figures yeah what the hell sure.
