aromantic theron shan whose only exposures to romance were YA novels followed by occasional sexpionage for work (judging by how flustered he gets sometimes when you pick a flirt line, i’m supposing this was not even remotely a preferred tactic) and one or two relationships that never really lasted
aromantic theron shan just kinda chalking this up to personal difference and deciding he’d much rather just work / keeping up a romantic relationship takes away from time he could be spending elsewhere.
aromantic theron shan meets aromantic hyroh kaah (neither of them are aware of this about themselves or each other) (things happen) (idk i got tired)

random meteor (the miqo’te) facts & vibes (this is all subject to change)
doesn’t know anything (literally) (post-calamity amnesia)
as his name and the above point suggest, he was one of the warriors of light prior to the calamity
his name comes from his one and only memory that he still has - meteor, just the word, and the sense that it was important
himbo
both he and yroh’a are vash the stampede coded but if yroh’a is a mix of like stampede/trimax vash/wolfwood - meteor is much more on the vash of trigun ‘98 side of the spectrum.
leaning much more into the bad omen / angel of death side of the wol. meteor’s a deeply kind guy, but terrible shit just seems to keep happening all around him
currently undecided on starting job but i’m leaning towards ARC/BRD (you can never drag me away from gridania) but MAR/WAR is technically on the table. i know he’s got a beautiful voice either way
gyr abanian (he does not know this) (he may find out in stormblood)
brash and loud and a little obnoxious - seems like the kind of guy who can’t take anything seriously .. until he does. and then he’s a little scary.
fluffy soft hair … fluffy soft tail …
built not Quite like a brick shithouse, but is pretty built. but not very defined muscles - got a nice layer of padding everywhere /lh
mix of like cat/dog mannerisms. wags his tail when he’s happy

In my interpretation of Jane's lore, Loretta Lawrence is in fact her mother despite her infamous statement otherwise. Her base story kind of leaves it up to interpretation with the final line of her father and mother both attending her funeral ( whether that be Loretta or an unnamed woman ) , so my personal take is that Loretta held a lot of resentment for the stain on her image that Jane's open discussion of her absence left, and intended on denying it publicly as a way to save face and also squash Jane's credibility - turning the narrative of her from an absent and career-obsessed mother to an innocent victim of lying by an obsessed stranger trying to use her name for clout. While it worked for a few moments, the almost immediate missing status and assumed death of Jane led to Loretta's image being ruined even more. Especially when in the ongoing investigation, it became public knowledge that she was in fact Jane's mother from birth records and the statement of her father. cw discussion of suicide ( not actually happening )
Post-being taken, Jane's story is somewhat of a mystery, the kind of thing discussed by true crime creators talking about the "strangest unsolved cases" and such. From the public's perspective, she was humiliated on live television by someone she'd consistently claimed was her mother denouncing that fact, and that night she disappeared. Her car ( but not her body ) was found some time later, at the bottom of a lake.
The obvious conclusion was that either it was an accident or she'd taken her own life, but the lack of a body sent conspiracy theorists into a frenzy. Did Loretta have something to do with it? Was it an inside job? Was it murder, not an accident or suicide? What happened to Jane Romero? While it was mostly contained to niche communities of people who liked to discuss this, Jane's status as a household name allowed it to spread further, damaging Loretta's reputation more than she could have imagined.
#ooc.#musing.#loretta in my personal interpretation is.... not a good person#not in the sense that she left jane with her father to focus on her career#but in the sense that when said daughter grew up following in her footsteps and being very honest about the effect that loretta's choice ha#she was unable to take responsibility because it would compromise her hollywood star image and instead sought to humiliate her daughter#ON HER OWN SHOW#like there is no reason she couldn't have resolved it privately the first time it was brought up#this was an attempt at revenge for jane's perceived slander of her.#without turning this named character into basically an oc i have a lot of Thoughts on her#she's not completely evil or anything!!! i think many events happened in her life to make her believe acting this way was the best course -#- of action BUT she's also petty. vindictive. and more concerned with her own reputation than the harm she has caused

Diarmad; a playlist
Death, Decay, Transformation, and Rebirth.
Songs of mourning with themes of spirits beyond Diarmad's grasp, a master of death and connection, the melodies coexist with something ancient and eldritch all wrapped up in his kingdom of rot. No one knows better than a druid of spores that life is cyclical, life and death running in renewal in tandem with indisputable suffering and agony. Diarmad's magic exists within the physical and the esoteric, his connection to the Dark One and the consistent themes of shedding his understandings in order to push progressively forward.
Composed of mycelial webs and esoteric, Diarmad's magic is not a thing of either rigid structure or celestial grace - but something that writhes uncomfortably. It breaks and devours in a quiet force, slowly unmakes, returns to the earth, and orchestrates the paradox of destruction birthing creation. Not a fire or a howling wind, but the damp breath of the grave, the pulse of roots and splitting of stones.
A hunger that consumes time itself.
In his workings over arcana, his flesh is a map of transformation. A living scripture of his communion with the mycelium. Diarmad's body often forgets what it once was - particularly in moments of spellcraft when his veins darken like soil-rich loam and fungi bloom along his shoulders. Spine shifting with every breath, caps swelling and shrinking alongside the expanse of his pale, taut skin.
"I am a forest, and a night of dark trees: but he who is not afraid of my darkness, will find banks full of roses under my cypresses."

i want so very badly to write the fic that exists in my brain about k'tasi witnessing jaric kaedan's death and having a reaction to it that many jedi - especially friends and colleagues of kaedan's i.e. the council - would likely find ... disappointing, to say the least, as in being frozen in fear and letting the guy who killed him (the emperor's wrath. by the way.) walk away unharmed. but the problem i'm running into is that again i'm not satisfied with k'tasi's design and wanna change it. babygirl you've been three designs now can you chill and make up your mind.
anyway. relatedly. kira is k'tasi's new master after kaedan, not hyroh. hyroh's a bit preoccupied dicking about having a quarter life crisis and trying to figure out who the hell he is again after extreme levels of torture and being constantly dissociated. like, for chapter 3, kira becomes the new protagonist of the JK campaign - because i think it's fucking cool of her and i care her, okay.

rare moment of me posting about the blorbo things that happen in my friends' dms rather than the other way around: i'm still crying about that damn orange cat and his goth elezen bestie (who belongs to @tiredassmage)
the tl;dr is they are each other's Answer to "The Question" i.e. venat's question to the wol in elpis. meteor, who represents the beauty and joy and hope in the world. although he does not hold azem's soul, he does hold their crystal and has inherited their legacy and that was by his own choices, not by fate. to shay, meteor is the tender flame of hope needed to salve the burns of the realm's suffering - a strong sword-arm and bitter resolve are not the only things one need's to save the world, although shay brings both and more to the table. he can slay all the gods he wants, but the world's not going to change for the better without a genuine desire and drive for it to be so. so the journey is worth it, yes, because meteor shows him what can be.
but shay is also meteor's answer to the question. because if meteor shows shay What Can Be, shay shows meteor What Is, and that for all the pain, it is still life, and life by its own virtue demonstrates the reason for its continued existence. because, first of all, it's a miracle and a privilege that any of them are alive at all. it's a kind of "bad miracle" or act of divine intervention that they're alive in the way that they are (the sundering). shay is someone who has gone through and bears great pain. it's threaded throughout the way he carries himself and that isn't to say it's All He Is, but that pain is a defining feature. and meteor looks at shay, and who shay is because of those experiences, and he can say too that the journey was worth it, the suffering was worth it, because where would they be, who would they be, if it'd never happened at all.
it's also like ... it'd be a little shallow, if meteor claimed to love the world wholly and only loved the scions of the world - the alphinauds and alisaies and lyses and so on. not to say those guys are Perfect or Non-Messy either, but clearly there's a marked difference between them and, say, thancred, or estinien, or shay. and the world, frankly, has a lot more messy and complicated and even straight up awful people in it than it does good ones.
but meteor will protect this world. he will love this world. that is what he bears even before he takes up azem's crystal. he will take up the burden of loving the world and its people even if they'll bite and curse him for it, and he'll still want the best for them, and expend his breath to see to it that maybe there's one less lonely child, one less broken home, one less injustice, than there was when he found it. and looking at shay reminds him of that promise. reminds him of the answer that the journey was worth it, because he'd rather live in this "world of suffering" than not at all. the journey is worth it by the simple fact he even got to embark upon it at all.
