「相州梅澤左（そうしゅううめざわひだり）」は、江戸時代の浮世絵師、葛飾北斎による代表作「富嶽三十六景」シリーズの一つです。この作品は、現在の神奈川県小田原市付近の梅沢村（現在の曽我梅林周辺）から望む富士山の景色を描いています。画面の左側に梅の木が配され、その向こうに雄大な富士山がそびえ立つ構図となっています。北斎は、梅の木の枝や葉を大胆にデフォルメし、独特の表現で富士山の美しさを引き立たせています。この作品は、北斎の卓越した構図と色彩感覚が際立ち、富嶽三十六景の中でも人気の高い一枚です。日本の風景美と北斎の芸術性が融合した、日本美術史に残る名作と言えるでしょう。

In 1831 Hokusai created his famous series ‘Thirty-six view of Mount Fuji' – this scene is from the east side of the mountain in what was known as Sagami Province during Hokusai's lifetime. Within the series, the first 20 prints focus on the miraculous daily return of colour to the world with the rising of the sun. In the last 16 (including this print) he explored the effects of full daylight on the rural and urban landscape.
