Alright so if Felix is a clone of Adrien but Adrien is a clone of Emilie, and Emilie and Amelie are identical twins, then. What do we call that relationship chart lmfao. And the children of identical twins are already considered genetically half siblings.
Could we say they both take strongly after their moms, like Gabriel and Colt's genetics just got absolutely crushed by the maternal genes. That seemed to happen anyway with their mothers, given that they look exactly like Milly and nothing like Emil. What is going on with this family.
Like I know Gabriel is canonically over six feet tall but Adrien and Felix?? They max out at five foot ten. Milly, Emilie, and Amelie height.
Canon has a habit of modeling children after their mothers (or vice versa), which I think is often because a lot of the fathers have very strong and/or exaggerated features. Think Emil's nose, Tom's build, etc. How diegetic the resemblance may be varies, but I think it's reasonable to say that that is the case for the Graham de Vanilys. Besides, I think them resembling their moms to a freakish degree (whether on accident or intentional as part of amok creation) is a very neat concept!
...I'm very much a sucker for awkward and lanky Adrien*, though, so my head canon thought process has always been that with age he'll eventually develop more of Gabriel's features. Whether it's a natural amok process from not being given orders for years (maybe continuous orders stunts the senti in a way?), or in AUs where he's not a senti it's just a genetic thing, it's really a matter of preference. Slightly sharper cheekbones, tall as fuck (though maybe not the exaggerated 7 or so feet Gabriel is iirc), darker hair etc.
...Back to your point: They're so related in my eyes that I call them brothers half the time just for convenience. Maybe it's because I did not grow up around my cousins—But yeah. Brothers. They're brothers to me in all but name. It's an entirely vibes-based call.
*It is crucial that I specify lanky. Tall Adrien only works if you keep the fact that he's a goofball and don't make him a 6'5" tiktok gymbro. This is also no shade to manlet Adrien because I much prefer the idea of short Adrien as a hypothetical fandom consensus.

I remember seeing a post that said ‘Chat has to earn the right to hand out the miraculous’ but I never really understood what that meant? Like how would he ‘earn’ it?
First off, we’re approaching this from the wrong angle. I recall making a post about the issue of Adrien not getting to be the one to hand out Miraculous, but I’m pretty sure I said at the time that handing out the magic-granting world-altering jewelry wasn’t a “right“, it was a responsibility. No one has a “right” to the Miraculous whether it’s using them or choosing others to use them. That’s the sort of entitlement that got us Chloe and her downward spiral. Saying it’s a “right” is saying it’s based on what you perceive a person to deserve rather than what they are actually capable of handling. It’s a trap of thinking that someone “deserves” something so they are “owed“ that something, regardless of the reality of the situation. At the time, people were saying that Adrien “deserved” to be the one to hand out the magical jewelry—either alongside Marinette or from the general stance I saw from the people making that statement at the time, preferably in place of her.
The sad little meow meow may deserve happiness, but there’s nothing saying that happiness has to or even should come in the form of control over ancient magical jewelry and the gods within that can cause other people harm if the person involved is being irresponsible (like say using his partner’s Lucky Charm for a joke during a crisis when she was already on a time limit in Refleckdoll) or otherwise having a bad day and just not feeling like it (Catwalker).
As such, it’s not about Adrien needing to “earn the right” to hand out Miraculous to people of his choosing, it’s about him needing to show that he is responsible enough to make good choices regardless of his personal feelings and more importantly take accountability for his bad choices.
That is where we have the problem.
In Copycat, Adrien caused an akuma by lying to a guy about dating Ladybug. While he did try to solve the situation himself, he took no accountability in the process and his attempts to catch his double really came off more as his way of hiding what he did rather than trying to fix it. Especially since the episode ended with Ladybug taking the blame and apologizing to the victim for something that wasn’t her fault. At no point did Adrien admit what actually happened, and the truth never came out.
In Oblivio, he cost his, Marinette’s, AND the kwamis’ memories because he was messing around and flirting in the middle of the fight. We literally see in the clip that he is lounging behind Ladybug while she is desperately trying to deflect the blasts by herself to protect them both.
In Papa Garou, he is again flirting with Ladybug and distracting her in the middle of a fight when she is a little busy trying to stop the akuma from crushing a building. A building and specifically the bedroom of a friend of his whom he supposedly cares about and that he has no way of knowing isn’t in there being crushed to death by the akuma he was ignoring.
In Glaciator, he got mad at Ladybug for not showing up to a date she herself told him she likely would not make, and took such offense that he refused to work with her in the middle of an active crisis. Second verse same as the first in Frozer as he again put his personal feelings first and refused to work with her in a crisis because she wouldn’t give him the answer he wanted. Both times, she had to be the one to apologize to him for upsetting him, and he took no personal accountability for letting his own feelings dictate his actions in the middle of dangerous situations.
He followed Volpina without hesitation even over his partner and disregarded her suspicions but attacked Alya as Scarabella without trying to listen.
In Syren, he threatened to quit at a time that Paris was flooded and people were drowning because he wasn’t being told a secret that Ladybug was not allowed to share. In Catwalker, he DID quit because Ladybug was relying on people who weren’t him at a time he was consistently letting his personal feelings prevent him from coming out to help.
He has repeatedly let his own personal feelings get in the way of helping during active crises. Crises that are the only reason he was given the magical jewelry in the first place. That tells me that he’s lacking responsibility and that the passing out of the magical jewelry is a desire for making him seem more important rather than a necessity for keeping the city he is supposed to protect safe.
I recall an analogy was made before that compared him to a lifeguard who refuses to go out in the water and help someone who’s drowning because he’s upset. And it is an apt comparison. It doesn’t matter that the lifeguard “needs” this job or “deserves” the benefit of the role; if the lifeguard is letting something personal interfere in his duty to the point he’s refusing to save a person in trouble whom it is his responsibility to help, then he shouldn’t be a lifeguard.
So you’re asking me how I think he would be able to earn the responsibility to hand out the Miraculous? It’s that he be responsible.
Not blame or lecture Ladybug/Marinette. Not refuse to help because he’s mad. Not change his identity to get another chance at dating Ladybug. Not sacrificing his life or free will for the upteenth time and leaving his partner to fix everything on her own yet again.
At this point, he’s a good support and fighter, but he’s not someone I could trust to pick a good person to use a Miraculous responsibly and return it afterwards. Or take action if that person won’t.
Because that’s the thing! Adrien won’t just be responsible for himself here. He will also have to take responsibility for whomever he chooses AND whichever Miraculous he hands out AND whatever results from the situation.
He, as someone who is friends with a bully like Chloe and tries to support a liar like Lila, has a bad judge of character and that person runs off with a Miraculous? That’s going to be on him.
He chooses an ability for someone who can’t use it properly? That’s going to be on him.
The person he picks gets injured or dies? That’s going to be on him.
The mix of person and Miraculous with the situation that he cannot control for results in a bigger mess? That’s going to be on him.
And no, we can’t say that it would just work out and that none of that would be an issue for Adrien. We already have the proof that he couldn’t handle it.
It’s already Canon that Adrien fell apart and got himself taken out immediately after he lost Ladybug in Party Crasher. He refused to listen to Fu or get help—which would have been a perfect time for him to display this responsibility and show he could gather and lead other heroes. He didn’t. Instead, he attacked an enemy he knew had a one-hit takeout ability head on in close combat in immediate range of that ability, got himself caught, and Fu had to step in and choose other heroes to help. You could say it’s because of his love for Ladybug blinding him or that he was enraged, both of which are problematic enough in and of themselves. But you could also say that he can’t handle the responsibility of dealing with the crisis himself.
Adrien is the “nice” guy. He’s the “funny” guy. He’s the guy who will support bullies like Chloe and help make her feel better after she tries to crash a train and takes over the city. I guess he’s good at making people feel good about bad things they did or bad situations they’re in. So he is a hero who can fight bad guys and make people feel better. He’s a feel-good hero and that’s why people love him.
But responsible he is not.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! Please make more of the ml tripletnette au. I love it and need more of them
THANK YOU I LOVE YOU! i needed an excuse to doodle some tripletnette au!
fair warning the sisters designs are no where near permanent, so here’s some old ass concept designs from july! the plan is still for marietta to get the bee while bridgette gets the ox… but part of me really wants to give her the peacock even tho it makes no sense story/plot wise, and another part of me wants to switch their motifs (mostly cause the hair comb miraculous will def work better with longer hair) but we’ll see! all these designs are still pretty up in the air, bridgette is probably going to end up with a low ponytail, and i’m now undecided on if the sisters should be identical or not
Tumblr media
something I really love about this AU is the idea of the triplets meeting the senticousins and just. getting so weirded out by them. CAUSE LIKE

Artzy, I am loving the Miraculous Deconstruction AU!
May I ask what Chat Noir is like in this AU?
He can’t get a break as Adrien or as Chat Noir. Working with Ladybug is like working with a female version of his dad, just as judgemental but she says it all with a smile
Due to Ladybug and being given no lessons on how to spot abuse, he feels it’s his purpose as the Black Cat holder to take every hit and literally die for her so she can save the day and he gets no thanks for it
He cares so much for civilians, yet the majority just see him as some idiot sidekick who’s only good for breaking things and being the comic relief
He occasionally goes to the more crime ridden parts of Paris that are ignored and protects the civilians or just lends an ear for them
When he starts to fall out of love with Ladybug, her ego takes a huge hit despite her constantly and coldly rejecting him even when he didn’t say anything remotely flirtatious, because she needs attention and boys (no matter how repulsive she finds them) fawning over her

So apparently Cat can use his power to remove the after effects from an akuma. Renna finds out Ladybug has been lying about Gabriel and has Ladybug says she can’t use miraculous ladybug to fix it so Cat uses “miraculous cat noir” to remove that memory so she can stay friends with Marinette (WTF?). Tho I’m pretty sure we have had Miraculous ladybug remove memories before, like in Oblivio. So idk what the point of that was.
That being said, if cataclysm works on something as insubstantial as memories, Cat Noir better brush up on his ‘The Garden of Sinners’ lore so he can start working on destroying conceptual things.
Also they decide on the team name Miraculers but Sabrina called them that in Daddycop so the timeline on that is wonky.
The explanation and introduction of Miraculous Chat Noir were terrible! I was honestly stunned when I read it. I know this series loves its retcon, but this is possibly the most blatant one we've seen.
Cat Noir: How come it didn't work, m'lady?? Ladybug: Nothing's broken...Secrets are not physical damage. (Rena glares angrily at Ladybug as she says the latter part) Cat Noir: Ladybug's power can fix things, not destroy them. Ladybug: (Gets an idea and looks at Cat Noir) This time to repair things we have to destroy them...
I have talked on multiple occasions about the fact that Ladybug's cure is not a Creation-based power. At least, it's not purely creation. While it often creates, there are multiple episodes where it destroys, too. There are even some where it's pure destruction!
I don't like that fact. I'm on the record as saying that Chat Noir should have a sister power that's used on the rare occasions when mass-destruction is needed. It's what I do in my own rewrite! But I never expected or even wanted canon to go there. Like many of the fixes discussed on this blog, I was discussing what the show should have done not what I'd like to see changed in the coming seasons. It's to late to fix this problem in canon since fixing it completely destroys the established lore! I genuinely don't know what this change means for Ladybug's cure moving forward because the way it worked in Revelator goes against the rest of canon.
Anon, you brought up the obvious counterpoint to Revelator: Oblivio, where the cure restored AND ERASED memories:
Fu: You two know your true identities, then. (they look at each other) Adrien: We're not supposed to? Fu: That's okay, the Miraculous Ladybugs will repair everything anyway.
Cat Noir: Wait. Do you think we'll remember all this… afterwards? Ladybug: Apparently, my Miraculous Ladybug reverts everything, so I'm guessing we won't.
Why did the cure erase these memories while leaving the Revelator memories? No idea. It genuinely doesn't make sense. Oblivio's mind-wipe power didn't directly cause the reveal. The reveal was an unintended side effect and yet the cure still undid it because it was akuma-based damage.
Meanwhile Revelator's power was revealing secrets meaning every reveal was intentional akuma damage, but this time the cure leaves the memories? Why? What was the logic? And why is Ladybug acting like her cure can't destroy things? It destroys things all the time!
For example, in Horrificator, the titular akuma covered the school and several people in purple slime. Ladybug's cure destroyed that slime, making this one of the episodes where the cure was pure destruction:
Tumblr media
[Image description: the school boiler room filled with things that look like giant purple alien eggs.]
Here are a few more examples of the cure destroying things:
Timebreaker saw Ladybug's cure erase her clone from a different timeline (which was weird)
The Evillustrator saw the cure destroy all of the titular akuma's drawings
Princess Fragrance, Zombizou, and several other episodes saw Ladybug's cure free people from mind control, an act of destruction that is not physical so I have no idea why Revelator is acting like the cure was only ever limited to physical damage
Syren saw Ladybug's cure destroy an ocean's worth of water
Anansi saw Ladybug's cure destroy spider webs
Frozer saw Ladybug's cure remove the ice that was covering the city
Weredad saw Ladybug's cure remove the vines that the akuma created
Lies saw Ladybug's cure free the akuma's victims by destroying their magical paralysis, which is arguably another example of it destroying something that wasn't physical
In Multiplication, it's implied that Ladybug's cure destroys the Ikari Gozen clones because they only vanish post-cure.
These are just a few examples of times when Ladybug's cure happily destroyed both physical and non-physical things. It has never been limited to creation or to the physical so I have no freaking clue what the point of Miraculous Chat Noir is. Nor do I have any clue when it's supposed to be used because all of the above examples are times when I would have used it as a writer. Introducing it after all of these episodes and having Ladybug state that her power is only physical was just embarrassingly bad writing, though I am curious what this means for Ladybug's cure moving forward. Is it going to be limited to creation or is it going to work like it always has? I have no idea.
It was also wild that this new power wasn't something Adrien unlocked because he's a stronger person now or something that Plagg granted him because Adrien was finally ready for a new power. Instead, Ladybug is the one who comes up with the idea that this might be a thing and Chat Noir tries it out at her prompting because Marinette is the only non-villain character that is allowed to advance the plot. Chat Noir is just another one of her Pokémon:
Ladybug: (Gets an idea and looks at Cat Noir) This time to repair things we have to destroy them... Cat Noir: But isn't that wrong? Rena Rouge: No. Because it's meant to give people the ability to choose whether to share their secret or not. And that's repairing things. Ladybug: You are a good person, kitty. Trust yourself. Cat Noir: But how do I do it? Ladybug: Remember: There's always room to evolve. Cat Noir: Cataclysm (He focuses his energy on the cataclysm lifting it to the sky, it slowly increases in size) Cat Noir: Miraculous Cat Noir!
For those who didn't watch the episode, this is it. This is all it takes to unlock the power. They exchange a few words of dialogue, Chat Noir randomly decides to call out "Miraculous Chat Noir," and he gets this confusing new power. Yay? Lamest upgrade in the history of upgrades! The side characters upgrading to "adult" status was more dramatic! A fact that's especially embarrassing when you remember that the "adult" upgrade happened at the start of this same episode. Big flashy opening, incredibly lackluster ending.
If Adrien is going to get a new power, then he deserves to get it in an episode where he takes center stage. It should NOT happen in an episode that's all about Alya and Marinette. The temp heroes get better treatment than this!
While I like the idea of Miraculous Chat Noir, it's the kind of thing that should only be done in a reboot. I might even forgive it if it's done within the first season. But doing it in season six? Hell no! I know this season is a soft reboot, but soft reboots aren't actually reboots! They're still in the same continuity! In the established continuity, this new power makes no sense. What, did Gabriel secretly wish to change the lore of the miraculous after using most of them and realizing how bad it was? I can't say that I'd blame him. I'd be tempted to make that wish myself!

I love your disabled Adrien! I'd love to hear more about him, if you have the time!
Thank you!
I'm still currently figuring out his injury but I can tell you about the other things I got so far
So first of all I want to explore Adrien's relationship with others way more as I thought it was lacking in the show. I want Adrien and Nino to feel closer; the two got to know each others when they were paired to make a power point together and went at Nino's house to work. Nino wasn't the type to try to befriend Adrien day one beacuse of his status, and Adrien liked that. Adrien didn't get to play much video games growing up, and Nino gets to "nerdify" him a little
I also want Adrien and Rose to bond. I made that Rose had Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and uses mobility aids as well. They get to know each others as both of them are exempted from sports a,d so they hang out during those hours at the foyer. Rose is quite infantilized, and people tend to pity her way more than they do for Adrien because she's not popular (while for Adrien kids usually see as him being "brave" and all that). She doesn't try to hide her disabilities, she's pretty open to talk about it and customizes her mobility aids to fit her aesthetic. Adrien on the other side doesn't like to draw attention to his disabilities and will most of the time let comments on it slide. (something that will change overtime)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I got really inspired by skip and loafers so Marinette and Adrien personalities and relationship will be somewhat similar to Mitsumi and Shima. I want them to become friends and not have the awkward show typical Marinette stuff.
I also want a "crush switch" to happen later on. Marinette will try to move on when she realizes she cannot make Adrien's mask slip, and slowly fall for Chat Noir (I need to develop the super hero side of things more because so far I'm way more interested in slice of life lmao), and Adrien realizes his love for Ladybug was more of an admiration, and falls for Marinette
Also while Adrien is completly human, Felix is still a sentimonster. Haven't fully figured him out but there will be an interesting dynamic to explore there. Kagami is also getting a serious rewrite because I just do not like her lore. Same for Lila. Adrien will get to bond more with Luka as well. I've not thought too much about the other characters yet though.
Gabriel is more down to earth, and does genuinely care for Adrien (in still a very fucked up way). He sheltered him because of the accident and still dictates a lot of his life. Some change may happen to Adrien's mom lore since he's not a sentimonster but idk exactly what yet
Anyway if you have questions don't hesitate to ask! I still got a lot to figure out and asking stuff will also help me to think lol

I know you love Gabenath, so how do you feel about Nathalie and Adrien only having a snugly relationship after Gabriel died? Some of their scenes together look sweet, but it feels like Too Little, Too Late for me.
I don't really see it that way. I think the setting is perfect. We saw Nathalie at times holding back in S1-S2 on Gabriel's decision making over Adrien (to which she tries to guide Gabriel into making the right decisions, like sending Adrien to school, which is something Adrien wanted). Also it always seemed to me that Nathalie didn't wanted to get too attached with Adrien on the very first seasons.
S3-S4 is more about on how Nathalie and Adrien started getting closer as Adrien sees Nathalie is getting sick just like his mother had before her, and him realizing that Nathalie has done a lot of things for him ever since his mother is gone.
Nathalie finally decides to stand up fully for Adrien in S5. Even if Nathalie doubts herself about how important she is in Adrien's life now in S6, (something that is quite normal as she isn't Adrien's biological mother.) I think it makes sense with the setting we got from previous seasons.
I really love the writers are touching upon this topic.
S6 seem like Nathalie is warming more to her new role as Adrien official caretaker and mother as he is an orphan now. She and Adrien becoming even more close its important as Adrien is on the grieving stage. He needs as much of emotional help as he can and Nathalie is the adult who can provide that.
It also makes Gabriel's sacrifice not to be in vain, as he gave his life for Nathalie, so Adrien didn't end up alone.

I remember reading a post by @critical-thinking-is-mandatory a while back about how Lila would realistically be disliked by people because of how self centered she is even if they don't think she's lying.
With this logic, Adrien's public friendship with Chloe (a school wide bully) should have a lot of people side eyeing him, if not outright avoiding him all together.
What do you think?
That's a valid point, and one that I and I think a number of others have considered.
Origins played with it but not nearly enough. By all counts, when a bully comes in with their "celebrity best friend" and parade him around the way Chloe does, there would be a mix of people being put off by him being her friend as much as there would be people impressed by Chloe being his friend.
Honestly, it would have been a more interesting setup and added extra layers to the love square dynamics if they started off going from enemies to friends to lovers. Or at least slow down and not dive headfirst right into over the top crushing.
But in that case, it would likely work better as a reverse love square. Ladybug loves Chat who is Adrien who loves Marinette who is Ladybug. Have Marinette be someon who gives Adrien a chance which builds a friendship and starts up his crushing on her.
Otherwise it would just lead us back into cringe with Marinette crushing on Adrien despite having valid reason to not trust him for being Chloe's friend or potential boyfriend.
I'm fairly certain I pointed this out in another essay/critique/salt post that they completely missed out on a potential character arc for Adrien in having him actually ADJUSTING to public school. Having him struggling to make friends with his stigma both as a celebrity and as "Chloe's friend". The effects would be two-fold.
First, it would help the Adrien salters better sympathize with him. Yes, I know there's his horrible HORRIBLE father, but storywise, the "Gabriel sucks" angle doesn't really matter if Adrien isn't having to be the one to face that. In addition, he seems to have no trouble with acclimating to a public school and making friends. Heck, he's not making friends, people are jumping over themselves to make friends with HIM. Part of what makes people sympathize with characters is seeing them try and fail and just generally make an EFFORT for what they want. Turn that around. In the hands of competent writers, this would be a setup that would do that more for Adrien. We see that in some aspects with the manga where it has Nathaniel mistake Adrien as a snob who looks down on comics and him as an artist. It would have been great to see more like that with Adrien getting to know his classmates or being the focus through which we get to learn about the classmates since he is supposed to be the new boy.
Second, it would be a stepping stone/building block to the eventual confrontation with Gabriel—which yes, should happen. Building relationships and forming HEALTHY bonds really helps to understand when other ones you have are not. (COUGHCOUGHScarletLadyCOUGHCOUGH) They can help you gain strength and courage and build a new identity for yourself. They also give you support in dealing with major conflicts. They can help him form attachments that make him NOT so willing to jump in to join his father's craziness. And they can help him become a better hero in his own right.
I'm not saying make Adrien suffer and be friendless. Far from it!
I'm saying to USE this as a plot point to develop Adrien and give him focus and room to grow. Or at least a point that ISN'T just him being half of the endgame pairing and desired by everyone in the city.
Show Adrien try to interact with each of the classmates. Show how Adrien becomes friends with others. Show how he comes to care about people who aren't there just to give him what he wants or tie him to the plot.
And yes, this would inevitably also lead in to some changes for Chloe as well...for good or bad.
