NINA S.AYERS PORTRAYAL NOTES 1/?, a general summary, inspired by : black swan (2010), nocturne (2020), birds of paradise (2021), suspiria (2018), & many convos with lea.

directly following a rather disastrous audition for both the white & black swan roles, nina comes across a strange book while snooping through beth m.acintyre's (currently cast as the swans) changing room.

without knowing why, nina feels compelled to take it with her. horrified by her own actions, it sits untouched in a hidden compartment of her bedside table [made necessary by her mother's constant privacy invasions] for a week or so.

once nina finally does give into her curiosity, she is mostly disturbed by the contents inside. sketches depicting scenes of both beauty & carnage, an unreadable language spilling across the pages, drawing her in.

she spends hours & hours scouring the ink in the coming days, researching what language it could possibly be in but coming up empty. it's not until she catches a glimpse of a page in her mirror compact that the truth reveals itself, it is simply written backwards in decorative script.

she finds herself enticed by the steps laid out for her,

I. INVOCATION : REPEATING THE WORDS ALOUD, A QUIET SEANCE OF ONE, OPENING THE DOOR FOR. . . SOMETHING. II. ASSURANCE : ONE OF THE COMPANY'S MOST BELOVED INSTRUCTORS, FIRED AT HER WILL. as the steps begin to play out, nina is haunted by an entity that portrays itself as the 'black swan' version of herself.

losing herself more in the role, in the book, in the darker spirit in the mirror, she slowly becomes unrecognizable.

the reality is that these steps are not leading nina to perfection, but to the open mouth of the entity. what she has yet to discover is that sacrifice leads to possession.

she is not being guided to her highest self, the prima ballerina she's always dreamed of being, but being molded into the ideal vessel - ready to be invaded.

KIERAN WILCOX PORTAYAL NOTES 1/? motivations, methods, canon divergence.

kieran's always felt a bit. . . off. well before his dad left, before things with his mom went so south, even as a child, he held a noticeable otherness.

differing from canon, kieran's interest & resulting dynamic with piper is not romantic or sexual in nature. kieran's interest in (lakewood, brandon j/ames, emma) all of it was a means to an end in an effort to get back at his father. beyond that, he simply enjoyed the part he played. the manipulation, the deceit, the kills, IT ALL FED THE BOTTOMLESS PIT that he's discovered inside. having piper to enable his worst impulses & help him with the mess is what keeps him out of trouble.

by the second season, kieran's learned the ins & outs of piper's methods. his motivations by then are not connected to any kind of revenge for her death, in fact he was hardly phased when she died. what actually ended up RATTLING HIM SO DEEPLY was killing his father. to his surprise, it did nothing to fill the pit, or ease the tension in his chest. he was as empty as ever, looking for any way to be numb. to forget. picking the knife back up was just a part of that, the first step of kieran (fully leaning in) to the reaper he believes himself to be.

kieran's kill methods are often chaotic & can become extremely messy. he makes an effort to drag it out : lingering in the moments before he strikes, staying to watch long after the lights go out. things don't always go how he envisions though & his impulsive nature can cause well-made plans to go completely off the rails at times.

QUEEN ALEERA, INFO DUMP : (1/?)

hailing from romania, the three brides of d.racula - verona, aleera, & marishka held dominion over several small villages under the overbearing wings of their sire. despite aleera's hotheaded jealousy & verona's seniority, they were loyal in all things, both to the count and each other. towards the end, many would take note that the brides seemed closer to one another than their betrothed.

following the demise of d.racula at the hands of v.an helsing, along with the death of her fellow brides, aleera is left to the bitter chill of a world alone. despite her fears, she uses the presented opportunity as a way to elevate her own status, taking over the c.ount's role through the loyalty she's built with his remaining allies & the village leaders.

FROM THIS POINT ON : she holds the moniker of queen aleera, her volatile yet unchecked rule entices many more of the undead, along with varying members of the supernatural to her side. she is known to use various forms of violence, seduction, & fear to assert her power.

aleera manages to maintain her grip over the territory for several decades, all while thwarting the many hungry hands that reached for her "implied" crown.

over time, the conflict & uprisings begin to wear on her. the power is addictive, but she senses her time will soon be up. as the paranoia brews, aleera begins to make her plans. she leaves no indication of who should take up her mantle, simply fleeing in the night, in search of distant lands. where she might settle without the burden of sovereignty.

indira petrova — indy is in her second season, but she's more interested in the other girls presenting themselves to society than she is in any of her potential suitors. her mother keeps pressuring her to find a husband, and her father has even threatened to marry her off to one of his friends if she doesn't accept a marriage proposal soon. in her first season, she was proposed to three times, making a mockery of her family ( according to her parents. )

josephine elmsworth — posey has waited her whole life for her season to start. she's idealistic with her head in the clouds and she can't wait to fall in love. her older brother jules is presenting her to society since her father passed away a year ago. at least, he was supposed to be presenting her, but he's too busy flirting with all the other girls with no intention of finding a wife.

VERSES :

alex claremont-diaz — as the only son of american royalty, alex is very well known, and his hand in marriage has been the talk of the ton. unfortunately for the ladies of the season, he seems to be noncommittal in the pursuit for a wife, as he sneaks around with a british noble, and still a hangable offense.

daniel le domas — daniel would be a rake if he had any motivation. instead of meeting potential suitors, he spends most of the time at the taverns. his family was very well known around the ton . . . for all the wrong reasons but they all died in a tragic house fire. now lord le domas is head of the house and the talk of the ton, but he wants nothing to be disassociated from his family so he can move on.

evie grimhilde — lady whistledown called her the season's sapphire instead of a diamond due to her signature royal blue dresses. she entered her season in a bid to get away from her evil queen mother. the grimhildes were once one of the most loved families in england before their titles and land were stolen away from them.

grace le domas — grace is a dowager after her husband and his family were all killed in a tragic house fire ( except for one of his brothers ) on her wedding day. now she's just trying to survive in the ton without a husband or any land while dispelling any rumors about her and the family she was supposed to be married into.

rebekah mikaelson —  as the youngest surviving member of the mikaelson family, and the only girl, her presentation was highly anticipated about the ton. unfortunately for rebekah, the three brothers in town have a terrible habit of scaring away any of her potential suitors instead of helping her secure an engagement.

rosalie hale — rosalie was orphaned at a young age and taken in by a wealthy family. even though she is not biologically their child, they have always treated her like she was, and that included presenting her into society, but she proved to be difficult, showing no real interest in finding a husband, at least in the traditional way that society expected her to. she participated in three seasons before she stopped and started supporting her siblings in their pursuits.

so right out the gate: my bedivere is a half-faerie. specifically a banshee. his father had a premarital affair with a banshee when the family lived in ireland, and upon learning what she is, he took bedivere and ran away to wales, fearing that she would take their newborn to the fae—or worse, end up killing them if they were to hear her wails. bedivere was raised to keep their voice as quiet as possible, and to never cry where they can be seen. given that this was medieval times, and my bedivere is transmasculine, it was easy for a young "girl" to get away with rarely speaking.

in regards to bediveres gender identity and the time they were born in, their family was luckily rather neutral to having a "tomboyish and queer" family member, and when arthur knighted them, they socially transitioned by.. well, changing their name and never ever bringing it up again. the other knights were largely also chill about it if they ever knew, mostly because they were scared of bedivere.

note: in old times, they were exclusively he/him. bedivere is a he/they in modern times.

in my primary / fandomless verse, bedivere has been wandering the planet with excalibur and the stolen arm of a god for the last 1,500 or so years. they have been cursed with immortality by the prosthetic arm merlin gave them, and bedivere considers this a rightful punishment for letting their king die.

bedivere was made immortal in their late 30s, after having two children who became little helpers around the castle once they were of working age (so, like... 12 at the latest). therefore they are still in their late 30s, physically. however they will often speak in incredibly, absurdly out of date terms due to not getting a whole lot of modern socialization because of their journey.

this post to get everyone who is interested familiar with the intentions and plans for the server. the most important thing to note here is, the server is still very much a work in progress.

what is downoverabq?

downoverabq is a discord server for rp set in the breaking bad universe. it will hopefully follow an overarching storyline set in the gilliverse, and i would love to hear your ideas about what you would want to see.

what are the requirements to apply?

you must be 21 or over to apply. there isn’t a proper application process yet, but it will most likely follow a similar format to other rp servers i’ve seen. for now, you can drop your discord handle in the askbox and i’ll be happy to message you about who you’d like to play and send you an invite.

what are the rules?

just be decent. respect others and their identities. there will be other rules formed of course, but as it’s all taking shape the most important thing is that we’re kind to one another. don’t push ides onto anyone or try to single anyone out.

what should i know before going in?

this is still in its really early stages, and i’m new to this. i haven’t done much discord rp so i’ll have a lot to learn but i’m going to do my best. if you’re triggered by topics such as murder, death, or drugs i would strongly suggest reconsidering before you join. breaking bad deals with very dark topics and while i’ll do my absolute best to respect everyone’s triggers, there’s still a lot that can’t be changed for the sake of fitting into the universe. also, you can play a character who isn’t in breaking bad, wether that’s an oc or a character from a different piece of media entirely. as long as you can find a way to make them for into the universe believably, throw em in there.

by the way i have no common sense and just automatically assume everyone is telepathically linked to my lore brain so just to be clear: rattenfänger is an alias kenneth uses. rattenfänger is kenneth, and is someone else. this was not a planned thing, but rather something he stumbles into when he sees an opportunity to essentially absorb and eat someone else's identity. after one pied piper comes another, from hemlin to rome to san francisco.

before kenneth however, the rattenfänger was one of the sons of python regurgitated back on land when he started to wake, up around when kronos was trashing up the camps and the triumvirate was taking up space. he is naturally serpent-like and is remembered for being terrible to look at, with half his face a patchwork of smoke-black scars. his hideousness serves a business purpose: you should pay your debts when they're due, because you actively do not want to see him a second time.

the rattenfänger is anything from a loan shark to the bargainer; you have a problem, he offers to fix it by mysterious means, then he gets his payment, and if you don't reward him, he'll make himself your next problem. most deals are done under the shadow of a well-structured hub: under the son of python, it was a nightclub where monsters convened frequently underground, and did not have a name. it was simply called omphalos. under kenneth, that place is called nerva's hall, an orchestra house where music pipes around compellingly, enchanting the space that allows no weaponry.
