there is sweat gathering on your brow.

it's a thin, glimmering film, a fingerprint of summer. there's heat simmering beneath your skin, not helped by the warm breath of wind curling in through the window.

a chill skims over your belly, rimes your flesh. it sinks lower, pressing into your skin like a promise.

you let out a shuddering breath.

the man sitting across from you pauses. he tilts his head; a few strands of mint hair curl with the movement, like sweet pea tendrils. his eye is sharp with knowing.

"you're distracted," he says bluntly.

you take a deep breath. "professor anaxagoras," you say. "is this really necessary? i haven't seen phainon since—since—"

"since you revealed the truth to him."

you look away. "yes."

anaxagoras hums. "yet you do not think he is gone."

coldness feathers over your neck. the chill from earlier seeps lower, delves between your legs. your thighs twitch, cinching tighter together.

"answer me."

you huff. "you didn't ask a question."

anaxagoras raises a thin brow, but the corner of his lips tick up. "true."

"i don't understand why you're here, professor."

he taps his pen against his notebook, a dull, rhythmic noise. "castorice explained my area of research to you, did she not?"

"sort of."

"either she did or she didn't."

you wince. "you study ghosts, right?"

he sighs. "a gross simplification, but crudely put, yes."

"but i haven't seen phainon in ages."

you bite back a gasp as cold crackles between your thighs, the chill sliding deep into you, pressing, pressing, pressing. you barely keep from arching.

anaxagoras flexes his fingers against the thick tome he has resting on his lap. his eye pierces through you.

"i suppose you try to not lie to me because castorice warned you how difficult it would be," he says.

you stiffen.

"you haven't seen phainon," he says. "but he is here."

"professor—"

he leans back in his chair. he watches you coolly, his bearing regal.

"tell me," anaxagoras says. "how many fingers does he have in you right now?"

literally just generic songbird but with 4 wings. i have a weird route/snowgrave design that will never be used because i ALSO refuse to play it!!! very uncomfortable. at most i will watch other people do it...

mostly just more sharp, with the hooked beak and visible eyes(very familiar looking ones at that)

if this gets noticed: i wanted to say i adore your art so much. kris is coincidentally also my favorite character, and you have one of my favorite interpretations of them i've seen. ALSO, VESS IS SO CUTE WHAT THE HECK. mischievous little critter. ooough...

so cutesy. so creature. i enjoy immensely. do you think this is the face they pull after they eat all the cookies.

“wait hold up, wait ho- it just occurred to me in Grians episode he has the square hole, i’m sure you’ve seen it cause you watch geminitay” (talking to my friend rain) “and he’s going insane about the square hole, thinking back to a dream i had when i first started watching evo, i had a dream where i was Grianmc but, evo Grianmc and i was in my base, and i dug this hole and it was like i dunno 5 by 5? or like, it was a big hole it wasn’t 5 by 5 maybe like 10 by 10 in minecraft, and it was a square shaped hole that went all the way down, it may have been rectangle shaped to be fair, but it went all the way down and each episode it got bigger, that sounds suspiciously like happening in this episode, did i prophesies the square hole? hold up wai- wait did i dream of the square hole like a year before it happened cause is like an oldddd dream. It's just me or The Old Guard 2 felt off? I don't know if it was the pacing or some character choices. Like I go over many things in my head and in the paper I love them but the movie ended and I was like "was that it?" Someone more smart let me know what I'm missing here. Maybe it just needs time to settle but maybe is something more and I need to know.
