Written for Bella's 4k Follower Celebration Writing Challenge with the prompt "So...I guess we're sharing."
So...I Guess We're Sharing
When your friend Ellie announced that she was marrying Theo Nelson in upstate New York, you had been hoping to run into Matt Murdock at the wedding. It wasn't an unreasonable expectation. Theo was the young brother of Foggy Nelson, Matt's best friend. It was only logical that Foggy'd be invited. And generally where you invited Foggy, Matt followed.
Now your plans for this possible reunion with your old flame had been talking, sharing a dance during the reception, flirting a little if you still found each other attractive, maybe a kiss…
Having you both booked for the same room due some kind of computer hiccup wasn't in those plans. Especially when there were no other rooms at this or the other hotels nearby. Mostly because both Ellie and Theo had very large families and lots of friends…
This left you with the choice to (A) share the room with Matt, (B) bunk with one of your friends, or (C) sleep in your car.
Option C was out of the question. For reasons that only made sense to them, Theo and Ellie decided the best time of the year to get married was January. Which meant it was far too cold to be sleeping in the car. Especially when more snow was predicted, bringing the risk of not waking up often enough to keep the tailpipe clear. Even if you didn't die, that didn't sound restful. And you were a massive bitch when you were overtired.
Option B was safer but has its own problems. You couldn't bunk with Ellie. It was less of a problem tonight but tomorrow it will be. Your bestie deserved to spend her wedding night having her mind blown by her new husband, not restricted to cuddling because her friend was third-wheeling. The rooms of your other friends in the party were less than appealing. You loved their kids but said kids had spent all day either flying or at the airport so right now they were a combination of pent-up energy and cranky. Except for the two babies who had bypassed cranky hours ago and were obviously 110% done with everything. And not afraid to say so, at the top of their little lungs.
Which wasn't their fault. You found flying stressful and you knew what was going on. But all the sympathy in the world didn't make their crying less capable of giving you a migraine.
Matt didn't have a car to sleep in, for obvious reasons. And him bunking with Marci and Foggy sounded nearly as awkward as you staying with Ellie and Theo. Apparently the pair had been looking forward to this trip as a mini-honeymoon. Mama and Papa Nelson's room already had extra people in it…
Which left Option A as the best choice for both of you.
"So…I guess we're sharing."
"I guess we are," you agreed, trying to hide your nerves.
You reminded yourself that while Matt was your ex, the relationship had ended amiably enough. It had hurt but there had been no name calling or a massive fight, public fight in the quad. Just two people agreeing that their lives were moving apart and maybe it was better to end things while you still liked each other.
Apparently all these years apart had not dulled Matt's perception of your moods. "We don't have to. I'll be fine with Foggy and Marci—"
"No, no, it's fine," you said, waving off the offer. "I said I was fine with sharing."
Matt's head tilted to one side. A shiver ran down your spine. You had forgotten how it felt to be the focus of Matt's attention. Even before you learned about his senses, it had seemed to you that being blind never stopped Matt from seeing you in ways that no one else ever had. After a moment, he nodded slowly. "If you're sure…"
"I am." You said, firmly. You could do this. It was fine. It would be fine.
The confidence momentarily wavered when you arrived at the room and discovered that there was only one bed. Matt, ever the gentlemen, immediately offered to sleep on the floor.
"No, no," you said, shaking your head. "Your back would never forgive you. It's a big bed. We can share, no problem."
This statement earned you another intense study from Matt. "Are you sure?"
"Positive." You felt your cheeks warm. "It's not like we've never slept in the same bed."
"True," Matt said, a little smile appearing on his lips. "It will be like old times."
"Just like old times," you repeated.
Except with more clothes, the horny part of your mind reminded you with a pout. Which was, if you were being perfectly honest, was more than a little disappointing. Nearly twenty years had transformed Matt from a very pretty boy to a devastatingly handsome man. The Matt you had known had been coltishall awkward, still not quite grown into his shoulders, with soft, round cheeks. The kind of person you imagined telling your father 'Yes, sir, I'll have her home by nine.'
Now? Now Matt looked like the kind person you could picture saying 'Your daughter also calls me daddy.'
The awkwardness had been replaced with cat-like grace and confidence. That cream cable-knit sweater of his could not hide that Matt had been hitting the gym anymore than those criminally well-fitting jeans could disguise that he still had the best ass you had ever laid eyes on. But far more potent was his face. Those round cheeks had been replaced with sharp cheekbones and a chiseled jaw, both adorned with the beginnings of a beard. A beard that was lightly peppered with gray that matched the touch of the same at his temples.
You couldn't explain why that little detail was getting you all hot and bothered. You just knew that it was making your cunt sit up and beg.
Further increasing your difficulties in keeping your mind out of the gutter was that his mouth still looked the same. It made you wonder if those petal pink lips would still be just as soft when he kissed you…and if he still loved eating pussy. Even dulled by time, the memory of the time he had spent hours with his face buried between your thighs, had your cunt clenching desperately around the empty air.
"Are you doing that on purpose?"
You jumped. When had he moved? He had been by the dresser, searching for something in his bag. Now he was right in front of you, one hand on the wall by your shoulder, the other closer to your hip. Almost but not quite pinning you to the wall. None of him was actually touching you but you could feel his warmth. You had forgotten how much of a living furnace Matt was.
"Doing what?" You asked, sounding more breathless than you expected. But how could you be anything else with him so close, those beautiful hazel eyes displaying the first signs of heat.
Matt arched an eyebrow. "Have you forgotten about my senses, sweetheart?"
"What do your senses have —-" You started before you cut yourself off. His senses… Matt would have heard your heartbeat increase at the sight of him. Would have heard your breath hitch when you realized how close he was, how you couldn't stop yourself from inhaling, wanting more of his good man smell…
And speaking of smell….
"You can smell…." You stopped, feeling your cheeks flush again. You couldn't say it.
Matt had no such qualms. "Your pheromones? How much you are soaking those panties? Yes, sweetheart, I can smell that."
Blood flooded your face. But also moved south as certain parts of your anatomy responded to the knowledge that he had noticed it. A reaction that only increased when you noticed the tenting in his jeans. A growl-like rumble erupted from his chest in response, hands twitching toward you before stopping. He closed his eyes, looking almost pained. "Sorry…I had forgotten how good you smell. It's making it difficult to control myself."
"Then don't."
"What?" His eyes snapped back open.
"Then don't," you repeated. The answer had been impulse but you stood by it. You didn't want to spend this entire weekend pretending that you didn't want him to fuck your brains out.
This time his hand couldn't stop itself from grabbing your hip. Or his body from moving closer, one thick thigh lodging itself between your legs. Your own hands hadn't remained idle, flying up to lay flat against his chest. But not to push him away. You just had to touch him.
You bite your bottom lip. He was even more solid under your hands than he looked. Solid enough to give horny brain thoughts. Thoughts of him pounding you against this wall, your legs wrapped around his waist while his hands gripped your thighs…
His hand on your hip tightened to near bruising. "Sweetheart…"
"Don't want you to control yourself," you panted out. "Want you to fuck me."
His hips involuntarily jerked, his thigh forcing your legs further apart. But what really had your cunt clenching desperately was feeling his growing erection pressed against you. There were too many clothes in the way and the angle wasn't right to do anything about but tease you….but you moaned.
That moan must have been the straw that broke the camel's back because Matt was kissing you. This was not the soft kiss you had imagined days ago, no gentle exploration of your mouths. This kiss was all passion. A fiery battle of lips, teeth, and tongues where neither of you could keep your hands still. Chest, shoulders, back until finally you reached his ass. It was just as good as you remembered, ample handfuls that you could not resist kneading like it was dough.
His hands tried to be just as thorough in their exploration but were stymied by the wall and how tightly his own body was pressed against yours. The frustrated whine was your only warning before you were lifted off the floor. Startled, you yelped and had to abandon his ass in favor of holding onto his shoulders.
Your assessment of how muscle was hiding under that sweater jumped another notch by how easily he carried you from the wall over to the bed. The only hint of strain came after that journey as his hands couldn't seem to decide what they wanted to touch most.
It felt good but you wanted more. Or rather you needed less, less of these clothes in the way of his hands and your hands. With this goal in mind, you started pulling your shirt off. Matt made a soft discontented noise when this impeded his exploration, until he realized what you were doing. Then his hands were eagerly assisting you. The moan Matt let out when his hands touched your bare skin went straight to your cunt.
Matt wasted no time in exploring every exposed inch of torso with his hands, followed closely by his mouth, rediscovering the spots that made you moan and squirm underneath him. It also made your hands even more eager for his bare skin. You pulled on his sweater, demanding, "Off, off, Matt, please…"
He whined against your cleavage but obeyed, leaning back to strip off that sweater. You felt your mouth go dry. You had been expecting muscles but the sight still took your breath away. And as beautiful as they looked, they felt even better under your hands. His torso was like satin…warm satin…you had forgotten how soft his skin was…how that lovely shade of rose would blossom and spread…how delightful those little whines he made when your hands found a sensitive spot…how easily he yielded to your desires…
It had been years (too many years) but you found yourself remembering. Where those spots were, how sensitive his nipples were…even the scars he had acquired over the years (so many scars….) just provided another interesting texture, another way to make him moan for you.
Your hands eventually found their way to his waist, drawing your eyes to the erection straining against the zipper….That must be uncomfortable.
A conclusion supported by the relieved sigh that escaped his lips when you popped the button on his jeans. Sighs that turned into groans when you wasted no time pulling down the zipper and reaching inside his boxers for his cock. Wrapping your hand around him, you found yourself biting back a groan of your own. You hadn't forgotten that he was big. But your fading memory was no substitute for actually having your hand around him — he's so thick…You felt another pulse of want between your legs, torn between having this cock buried deep inside your cunt and wrapping your mouth around it and making him scream…
As if he could read your mind, Matt's hands on your hips tightened…
"Please, sweetheart," he panted out, tugging at the waistband of your leggings. "May I? Please…ah!…I need…my mouth on you. Please!"
Oh his begging was just as sweet as it had been all those years ago…how could you deny him?
"Yes, yes," you said, lifting your hips to help him. Matt was quick to accept that help, peeling off both your leggings and panties in one swift action. You needed no encouragement to spread your legs wide for him.
If you thought the moan he made in response was obscenely loud, it was nothing compared to the one you made at the first lick. A slow, long drag of his tongue across your entrance, soon followed by another and another until you were squirming. Until the heavy weight of his arm laid across your hips to keep you pinned exactly where he wanted you. All you could do was whimper and beg for more.
He eagerly gave it to you. He made his way up to your clit where he applied teasing, kitten licks that sent sparks running up your spine. Then, without any warning, he wrapped his lips around your clit and sucked hard. You cried out, your hips trying in vain to jerk upward but he had no mercy. His arm kept you down and his mouth didn't relent on the pressure. You felt the coil inside you tighten as you drew closer and closer to that edge.
Then he hummed and sent you screaming over that edge.
You drowned in white hot pleasure. Pleasure that only continued to build with Matt lapping hungrily at your entrance, his eager grunts and slurps filling your ears. And just when you thought you could climb no higher, his tongue pressed inside you. You cried out, your hands scrambling to grab onto his hair. Once grabbed, you instinctively tugged on his hair, urging that clever tongue to keep thrusting in and out of you.
A silent order that Matt happily obeyed, moaning with each tug on his hair. The vibration only made you grip him tighter and pull harder…until he suddenly stiffened, letting a moan against your cunt that nearly sent you back over that edge…
The movements of his tongue didn't stop but they began…clumsy. Sometimes long laps, sometimes little licks…sometimes the pressure was featherlight, sometimes it was firm…sometime he swiped across your clit, sometimes his tongue fucked you, sometimes he lathed at your folds…
It was maddening, feeling good enough to bring you up to that edge but not good to send you over it. Even tugging at his hair only added moans that drive you even crazier….you squirmed under his arm. Funny it wasn't pinning you as firmly as before…you could almost just about ride his mouth but not quite…
"Matt," you whined. "Matt…"
Your voice seemed to break through whatever haze had seized his mind because he lifted his head far enough that you could see his face. And despite your recent orgasm, your cunt clenched. He looked positively lewd. Hair amess, lips kiss-swollen and shiny….further wetness smeared on his beard. His eyes were heavy-lidded, glassy…He almost looked drunk…The implications of what he was drunk on had only heightened your frustrated desires…
"Matt," you said. "Please….do I have to beg? Because I'll beg."
He looked confused for a moment before he blinked and the haze cleared a little. He smiled. How did that song go? He looks up, grinning like the devil? If so, that perfectly described that smile. Then you felt a thick finger run through your folds, coating itself in your slick before sliding inside you. "Not this time, sweetheart. All you need to do is ask."
The implication that there would be a next time stoked the growing fire just as much as the finger working its way inside you. You were so wet that it didn't take long for that finger to be buried up to the hilt. Nor did he waste any time fucking you that finger. It felt so good, reaching deeper than his mouth and thick enough to ease that empty feeling but it wasn't enough. "Matt."
"What is it, sweetheart? Do you need another finger?"
"Please!"
"As you wish."
True to his word, a second finger joined its fellow pumping in and out of you. Then those fingers curled and stroked a spot inside you that spent white sparks across your vision. You couldn't have contained your moans if you wanted to. Not that Matt seemed to mind how noisy you were being. Quite the opposite.
"Good girl," Matt rumbled out, his voice gone deeper and huskier. "Keep telling me how good you feel…what you need…"
His breath ghosted over your clit, adding more fuel to the growing fire. Your cunt clenched around his fingers. The resulting moan, the sound and feel of it so close to where you needed him left you whimpering and desperate. Close, you were so close…You tried to arch up into his mouth but his other arm had resumed its task of holding you down. You whined in protest but Matt was unmoved.
"Tell me what you need," Matt whispered. "Another finger? My mouth? What does my sweet girl need to cum?"
"Your mouth," you whimpered. "Please, please."
Before you could get out a third please, he drew your clit into his mouth and began to suck. In a sharp contrast to earlier, the suction was gentle. A tease, if your little nub hadn't already been swollen and sensitive. But it was so almost immediately you were babbling out his name as the fire consumed you — body, mind, and soul.
You barely heard his responding moan but you certainly felt his tongue lapping at the fresh slick flowing around the fingers still buried deep inside you, pressing insistently against that spot that made you burn…
You had no idea how long the pleasure held you under. It might have minutes. It might have been hours. You just knew that, eventually, the pleasure began to ebb. You sank into the mattress, feeling boneless and warm as you watched Matt slowly kiss his way up to your mouth.
This kiss was closer to the gentle, sweet affair that you had imagined but the tang of yourself, the edge of hunger gave it an edge. One that, despite two orgasms, began to kindle renewed heat between your legs. A feeling that only increased when Matt sat up enough to finally take off those jeans. Jeans and boxers that you couldn't help noticing were wet, far too wet to simply be precum. Especially with his cock looking only half-hard…
"Did you?"
"Come just from the taste of you?" Matt said. "Yes."
Your cunt clenched. And, of course, Matt noticed. He chuckled. "That pussy still isn't satisfied?"
"No," you said. "Because that cock still hasn't fucked me into this mattress.”
The cock in question twitched which you took as a sign of interest. Judging by the hunger shining in Matt’s eyes, the rest of him wasn’t opposed to this idea.
“Good point, sweetheart,” Matt said. He leaned down and kissed you again, short but toe-curling. You almost missed the hand sneaking under your back but you didn’t miss the sudden loosening of your bra. Or the eagerness with which he stripped it off of you and cupped your breasts. You breath hitched as his fingers teased one already peaked nipple.
“I can’t leave my sweet girl wanting.”

Buckingham, 1,760 words, for @thefreakandthehair’s Spicy Six Winter Challenge, with the prompt; snowball fight.
Winter, and Christmas especially, has always been Robins favorite time of year.
Or, more accurately, it used to be.
With the heavy snow, December of '85 is starting to become the worst month of Robins year. She can't even bring herself to enjoy the snow. Nothing her parents usually do to cheer her up works either.
"Until the roads are cleared, I've got to walk," Steve repeats. "I'm sorry, Robs. Maybe the snow will clear tomorrow."
"Maybe," she reluctantly agrees, ignoring the fact that he'd said the same thing yesterday... and the day before that... and the day before that. "At least we're on shift tonight, right?"
"Oh..."
Steve's tone only fills her with more dread.
"What?"
"Keith called me before you," Steve says. "Family Video is closed for the day. Something about the snow being too much and no one shopping in this weather anyway."
"So, hey, maybe school will be cancelled too," Robin tries, though they both know school won't cancel.
"I'll walk you home from school," Steve offers. "Or we can go back to my house. I still have that cake we made."
"Yeah, alright, whatever. I'll call you at lunch, yeah?"
"Ok. Missing you already, Robs."
"Love you too, Dingus."
Hanging up, she drops her head against the wall with a soft 'thud', grumbling complaints under her breath.
"No Steve today?" Her mother asks.
Robin turns, glaring when she sees the teasing smirk. "No, no Steve today. By the time he clears his driveway, I could have already walked to school and waiting... whatever. It's not a big deal."
"Mhm," her mom hums, chuckling. "Sure it isn't, sweetie."
"It isn't! It's not like we need to be together all the time. We can go one day."
"Your uncle and I used to use those same excuses, you know. We weren't any more convincing than you two. Now, come on, get ready. You'll be late if you don't leave soon."
Reluctant, and groaning, Robin takes the coat her mom holds out for her. She picks her bag up, sat by the door, and sitting on the stairs so she can pull on her boots.
"Don't rush, there's a lot of ice," her mom warns. "And keep your coat zipped up. And-"
"I know, I know. I love you, too. I'll see you later!"
"Bye sweetheart! Be careful!"
The air outside is freezing. It hits Robin like a brick wall when she steps out and, despite her mom's warning, the idea of spending longer is the cold than she needs to is horrifying.
She jogs, careful to avoid patches of roads and sidewalks that look icy.
She makes it most of the way with only a few stumbles before, inevitably, she slips over.
"Oh my god," someone yelps. "Are you ok?!"
Robin flushes, muttering curses, when she realises that, not only did someone see her fall over and eat shit- Chrissy Cunningham saw her fall over.
"I'm- yeah, fine, totally," she chokes out, forcing a laugh.
"Here," Chrissy pants a little, having ran over to her, offering a hand.
Robin takes her hand, a little surprised at how easily Chrissy pulls her up.
"Thanks," she says, trying to smile.
"Are you sure you're ok?" Chrissy frowns, looking her over. "We have a first aid kit if-"
"Oh, no, that's not... I am ok, really."
"if you're sure." Chrissy shifts, glancing back to the drive. "I'd over to drive you the rest of the way, but..."
Robin leans to look around her, wincing when she sees the drive.
The snow is piled high in the driveway and, despite how much has been cleared, there's no way that Chrissy is going to clear the rest in time.
"Why don't we walk together instead?" Robin suggests.
She almost takes it back, wincing at her own boldness, but Chrissy lights up.
"Yeah? I mean, yeah, let's! Lemme grab my bag, ok?"
"Ok, yeah, that's fine."
Robin wraps her arms around herself, starting to step side to side in an attempt to keep warm while she waits.
Luckily, it doesn't take Chrissy long.
"Ok, I'm ready!" She smiles. She pulls the strap to her back a little further onto her shoulder, the polite smile faltering. "Oh, are you cold?"
"Uh, yeah, but I'm fine, really, it-"
"No, don't worry," Chrissy twists so she can root through her bag. "I've got a spare... aha!"
She pulls out a scarf that's mostly green and white. She wraps it around Robins neck before she can protest.
"You can give it back later," Chrissy easily dismisses, starting to walk down the street. She raises an eyebrow when she glances back at Robin. "Come on!"
Robin stumbles a little in her rush to catch up.
"Careful," Chrissy says, taking hold of Robins right arm and cradling it in both of hers. She glances down at her boots. "Do you have enough grip with those?"
"What? I mean, yeah, these are great, they're sturdy and build for ice- mom got them specifically because they have great grip. The problem is with me, I'm not good at running. Like, I have terrible co-ordination- Steve is always joking about how I run like a windmill and, yeah, I do, but he learnt to walk slower than I did so really, he's the weird one here- I mean, what type of baby tries to crawl backwards, right?"
Robin finally pauses for breath. She glances at Chrissy, who is struggling to stiffle her giggles.
"Steve Harrington?" Chrissy asks, when she finally realizes that Robin isn't going to continue.
"Uh... yeah... don't tell anyone I told you that."
"My lips are sealed."
"No, really, that's- I think he told me that in confidence or something, I shouldn't have told you that, I just can't stop rambling when I get nervous around- and you're- oh god. I'm shutting up now. No more conversations. We're just... having a nice- silent- walk to school together. Just... me and Chrissy Cunningham. Jesus."
"You say that like I'm scary."
"Well, I mean..."
That only makes Chrissy giggle harder. "You think I'm scary? Really?"
She leans heavily into Robins side, one of her hands curling up around Robins bicep. She's looking up at Robin with an expression that's painfully familiar.
It's the same expression she's seen girls pull out when they're hitting on Steve. The same moves too.
But what would Steve do? Robin thinks, panicking.
She's grown so used to old conversations with Steve repeating in her head, his bad jokes and questionable advice a constant and welcome companion.
But, now that she actually needs him, he's nowhere to be found.
After a few seconds of panicking, Robin is desperate to break the tension that is quickly turning from flirty to awkward.
She ducks down, grabbing a handfull of snow, and throwing it against Chrissys coat.
Robin jerks up, standing stiff upright, frozen and stunned at herself, whilst Chrissy is equally frozen, staring at Robin with her mouth agape.
It doesn't take long for the shock and confusion to vanish though, and soon Chrissys grin turns wicked, a dangerous glint in her eyes.
"I'm sorry?" Robin tries.
"Are you?"
'That means she's flirting, just... in a more playful way', Steve voice finally rings in her head. That day had been confusing for Robin- she hadn't known if the girl had been flirting with him or bullying him. 'I kinda prefer it. It's nice to know you can roughhouse a little with a girl, you know? It can be fun. Sexy'.
That had been one of his more successful dates, Robin remembers. He'd gushed about her for the entire week between their first and second date. She can't remember what went wrong, but he was confident that-
Chrissy ducks down, quick, scooping up a pile of snow with both hands.
Nope.
She takes off running, barely darting out of the way of the snowball in time.
"Hey!" Chrissy yells after her. "Get back here!"
But she's laughing as she says it.
So, almost tripping onto her face as she ducks down, she scoops up another ball of snow. She turns, aim going a little wild with how fast she keeps running.
She yelps, stumbling a little heavier when the snowball sent back in return smacks directly in the back of her head.
"Careful!" Chrissy yells.
"Then don't aim for my head!"
"It's not my fault it's an easy target!"
"Hey!"
Robin scoops more snow, turning and sliding to a stop. Chrissy doesn't have enough time to stop, but she does duck out of the way so it hits the side of her head instead of directly in her face.
She realizes her mistake a second too late.
Chrissy, unable to slow her momentum on the same patch of ice that Robin had slid across, slams straight into Robin.
Robin winces when her back slams into the ground, the snow doing nothing to cushion the fall. She feels lucky that her head didn't also slam into the ground.
"Oops?" Chrissy says, pushing herself up slightly but making no move to get off her.
"No, it's ok, that's on me."
"Yeah..." Chrissy trails off, voice weak- distracted.
Robin holds as still as she can, irrationally worried that if she moves then she'll startle Chrissy out of whatever moment she's having that has her looking down at Robins lips, cheeks flushing.
For a moment, Robin is sure that Chrissy is going to kiss her. Her eyes flutter, shifting up so her face is above Robins, tilting her head and starting lean down, to-
Someone wolf whistles, loud.
Chrissy jerks back, throwing herself off of Robin- but she is immediately glaring at the two boys, laughing and leering at them.
"Fuck off!" Chrissy yells. "Jerks!"
She ignores them when they try yelling back, instead focusing on Robin and helping her to her feet.
"Ignore them," Chrissy mumbles, grabbing hold of her hand and gently dragging her along, walking fast. She glances back, seeming to relax. "What assholes."
Robin glances back, relieved when she realizes that they're turned around and started walking in the opposite direction.
"Yeah," she agrees, turning back to stare at Chrissy, awed. "You're so brave."
"What? Oh, no, I'm not."
"Yeah, you are! Scary, too."
"I am not!"
"Scared those two."
Chrissy huffs, leaning in so their shoulders bump together.
"You're something else," Robin continues, emboldened. "It's impressive. You're, like, actually cool. Not just popular kid cool, but... truly, really, awesome."
"Shut up." She's mumbling, but she's smiling. She's blushing. She's looking up at Robin through her eyelashes.
"Nope," Robin grins.

Synopsis: Kevin and crew go skiing in Vancouver but what's hotter, the romantic drama or the chocolate?
Word count: 1.5k
Pairings: Reader x Canada Line??
Warnings: Fluff, very slight Kevin angst, hot tub scene, best friend Chanhee, I think that's all...
Author's note: This is my first Tumblr story sooo take that as you will.
It's HEAVILY inspired by scenes from 'To All The Boys I've Loved Before' and 'Boy Meets World' S5: E14 (but you don't have to know either to enjoy). It came to me after what Kevin said in their Ultimate Bias interview. Also I'm a new deobi so I hope I wrote everyone correctly.
______________________________________
Kevin takes his 11 friends (The Boyz + Y/N minus Jacob) to his favorite ski resort in Vancouver. He chose a resort specifically knowing that Chanhee didn't plan on going out even once. They all arrive in the resort's lobby at around 6 p.m. and sort the rooming situation (Y/N of course getting her own). Once situated, most of the boys rush up stairs to drop off their stuff and put on their gear.
"Ready to see the slopes?" Kevin ask in English, directing his question towards Y/N. Y/N looks at the excitement on Kevin and Eric's face, then sides eyes the boy next to her, Chanhee looking less than happy to be surrounded by snow.
"I think I'll miss out today. The sun looks like it's going to set soon and I'm not trying to learn snow sports in the dark." She rubs her arm.
"Yeah, it gets more dangerous as the day goes on." A soft English voice catches the group off guard, them turning to see a boy around their age in a doorman uniform.
"Ja-Aye-Cobuh." Eric pronounces, sliding his finger across the boy's golden nametag.
"Yes, Jacob's the name, and if you and your friends want to keep cool, I'd suggest staying in tonight and helping yourself to our complimentary hot chocolate bar!"
"Hot chocolate? I'll take a cup, thanks buddy." Eric says patting Jacob's shoulder before turning away. "Anyways Y/N you in or out?"
"Yeah, there's no such thing as 'keeping cool' up here. Come on Y/N." Kevin pleads. She looks at him and ask herself how she could say no to those eyes, but she glances at Chanhee's blank expression and makes up here mind.
"You guys be safe. And save some energy for me tomorrow, okay? How does hot chocolate and Korean skincare sound?" Y/N turning towards Chanhee and speaking so that he can understand. He nods and Kevin sighs before waving them goodbye.
Flash forward to Y/N's solo room, her and Chanhee on opposite sides of bed. Y/N's laying down on her back allowing gravity to keep her Hello Kitty face mask on. Chanhee's sitting crisscrossed and facing her, the TV behind him.
"Why didn't you go skiing with Kevin? I know you're like, in love with him."
She quickly sits up, mask plopping down onto her lap.
"I'm not 'in love' with Kevin and damn it Chanhee, you made me waste good collagen!"
"Sorry but there's no way you came all the way on this trip just to pity me and not to make out with Kevin."
"Sure did, I knew there's was no way you'd stay warm with out your, bestie!" Youngie jumps up to hug Chanhee, him cringing and resisting.
"You know, there's another way we can warm up." The boy teases.
Next thing you know the two are outdoors surrounded by trees bigger than their hopes and dreams. A bright sunset quickly changed to a black sky filled with stars, the deafening silence of the night interrupted by the sound of cicadas shaking their wings.
The hot tub bubbles, a teal blue light illuminating the air around it.
Chanhee steps in first, his gray swim shirt turning darkening where the water meets it. He chuckles a visible breath, a result of the grueling outside temperature. He offers Y/N his hand, her untying her robe before taking it and stepping in.
They aren't alone for long as their friends hurry past them and towards the resort, whooping and hollering as the snow crunches beneath their feet. Kevin stops, and heads towards Y/N's corner of the hot tub, leaning down to whisper in her ear.
"You look nice, Y/N. Do you mind if I get changed and join?"
A chill goes down her spine as he grins and walks away.
"Want me to leave?" Chanhee ask.
"You better not." She sighs. They suddenly hear more footsteps and the pair turns to see Jacob from earlier. He's in a long-sleeve black swim shirt but the sleeves are rolled halfway up. His blue swim trunks littered with rubber ducks work in contrast, showing off his cute side.
"Come to call curfew?" She questions, remembering he spoke English.
"Actually, I'm off the clock. This is my favorite way to wind down." He slowly steps in, taking up one of the remaining empty sides as to not sit next to Y/N or Chanhee across from her.
They chat some more before Kevin and Sangyeon join them, both in their trunks but neither wearing a shirt.
Y/N quickly looks down, growing nervous at the sight.
Kevin sits next to Jacob and Sangyeon's with Chanhee, the two striking up their own conversation.
"You missed the perfect ski." Kevin says, eyes on Y/N.
"I guess, but me and Chanhee created some fun of our own."
"Okay... but promise you'll join me tomorrow?"
"I promise."
"Come here and prove it." He dares, holding out his pinky.
"Can't you just take my word?"
"Nope, get over here." He pats the space next to him, now feeling the eyes of Jacob.
"Why do you want me over there so bad?" She hesitantly stands up making her way to him.
"Don't worry about it." He quickly ends as she sits so close that their legs touch, but neither of them move. She reaches out and connects their fingers, Kevin taking this chance to use his other hand and poke her side. She gasp at the tickle and shoves some water at his chest. "Oh it's on!"
The two splash water at each other, not hearing Jacob's silent objections on the matter.
Finally, Kevin takes a handful of water and throws it blindly, it somehow ending up all over Chanhee's face.
"Bestie!" Youngie shouts, making her way over to him to quickly wipe the drenched hair off his face.
Sangyeon takes Chanhee's side, the two rush inside and upstairs as Y/N grabs her robe and stays with Kevin and Jacob in the lobby.
"I'm so sorry." Kevin looks down. Y/N looks distant, worry for her friend clouding her mind.
"It's okay, but we at the resort take safety very seriously. Maybe let's just have everyone stay in their rooms for the night." Jacob ends and Kevin nods. His eyes flash to Y/N before making his way to his room.
Y/N stays in the lobby, water dripping from her swimsuit as she's lost in thought.
"You're probably cold. Let me grab you a blanket and some hot chocolate." Jacob smiles.
"You don't have to, I know you're off."
"I don't need to be paid to help out." He says. His smile puts her at ease as she takes the mug from his hands. He sips on a cup of his own as he sits down in a large bay window.
She follows, taking in the scent of her beverage.
"So, what's it like working in the mountains?"
"It's great. I always feel best surrounded by nature, which is why I've come here every winter since I was 16."
Y/N hums, sipping from her mug, whip cream covering her top lip.
"Oh, I got you." Jacob slowly leans in, their eyes meeting as their faces sit centimeters apart. He lifts a napkin to wipe her mouth, letting out a soft chuckle as he leans back. Y/N could only pray he didn't hear her heart pounding. "And what about you? What brings you out here?"
"I- I prefer warmer weather, but my friend Kevin has talked about bringing us to his favorite resort for the longest time, I just couldn't let him down."
"Ah Kevin, I see him and his family come in pretty often. The last time was around February, except he only came with one other person. Some girl I didn't recognize."
Wait, Kevin brought a girl here in February? Like his birth month February? Back then Y/N had tried to thrown him a suprise party but he claimed he could make it do to a last minute family emergency. Was he lying?
It's been 10 months since and she's still chasing after someone who's never seemed to like her back.
"I guess it's kind of romantic up here." Y/N looks out at the snow.
"Yeah, I've always dreamed of falling in love, snow falling as I'm snuggled up by a window, hot chocolate in my hands... " Jacob says looking opposite of them at the roaring fireplace.
She smiles up at him and he returns it, his presence making her warm inside and out. She'd never felt this way about anyone other than Kevin before. In fact, right now she wasn't even sure if she'd ever felt this way about Kevin.
They chat some more before their trance gets broken by a group of male voices.
"Last one up the hill buys everyone coffees!" Haknyeon shouts, Changmin and Sunwoo pushing to get in the front.
"Y/N? You're still in your robe?" Juyeon ask, Chanhee by his side, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.
"Yeah, I should probably get changed and ready for bed."
"Bed?" Hyunjae ask, zipping up his puffer jacket.
"At 7 in the morning?" Younghoon's question follows as he adjust his shoes.
"7!? What do you mean 7!?" She whips her head back to the window, the sun rising for what felt like was just an hour into the night. "We talked all night?" She mumbles to herself, not missed by Kevin.
"You talked to him all night?" His voice filled with confusion and hurt.

10 January 2025
Snow day. The sense of melancholy is still here. It comes and goes. It was worse today after F left. Not sure why. I don't think it's anything she did. If I'm being honest I think I felt that way before she did or said anything. Worried that I'm clinging to her for any sense of security, or some sort of confirmation that I'm not a bad person.
Tumblr media
I've reflected on it a lot and I don't think I'm in love with her. Which is maybe part of the problem? I don't know.
I care a lot about morals. I'm really glad I never chose to go into philosophy. I think I'd be worse off. Either more constantly sad, or more of an asshole. Something like one of those things.
M and I went out in the snow, which was nice. We got groceries, and walked and drove around in it. More people are back for school (even though it hasn't started yet) and there were groups out sledding at the uni. We were too cold and too sleepy to do anything in a large group, so we stuck to observing (briefly) from a distance.
Tumblr media
E went out with S and K though. M says she thinks he's been spending too much time with them lately. We're worried it's bad for him, but we know it's none of our business. F said something similar, unprompted. I guess we're all just sort of worried. We know it's not our place.
I keep worrying that I'm a bad person, but what does that even mean? Truly probably nothing. I think it's because I've spent so much time with E and F these past few months, and they're both so certain of what good and bad are. I've never really believed in either, and I try to be slower to cast judgement. E believes that everyone is evil, and has to try to be good. F seems to have a clear-cut sense of good and bad, but I can't figure out where she draws the line. I guess that when I'm around either of them for too long I just start to think of myself as awful. It's like all of the Catholicism comes rushing back to me.
There are people at the window. They're rambling in the way that drunk people do. It's warm in my room. I'm sitting on my bed. I have dishes to dry, and some laundry to do. I will probably get to the laundry another day. The dishes are a tonight issue, though.
Tomorrow, I see Calliope again. Going to drive her into town and show her all of the beautiful places. It is so hard losing a friend to an ocean. At least I know she's never gone long. M wants to meet her, so she will probably join. Maybe we'll do lunch. I have to remember to drop the check off, though. I'll probably make Cal remind me.
F said she would try to spend the night. I hope she can, I hope she does. I always sleep so much better when she's next to me. I hope there's nothing wrong with that. I am so worried we make each other worse. Like maybe there are all of these horrible things that we awaken in each other, and we'll never notice because we're so caught up in our own world, and it feels so good in the moment. I think that's just the Catholicism getting to me again, though. She feels so nice and warm in my arms. I hope I see her again tonight.

Sundas, Morning Star 05, 2025
( Sunday, January 05, 2025 )
Dream interpretation first.
So. Alucard was there. My only knowledge of Alucard is from Hellsing Ultimate Abridged (but I need to watch the original anime).
So like. Me and him were heralded as gods because we lived in a very quiet world and we had very loud cars (I hate loud cars by the way), so these four guys heard our cars in the distance and went "Yup. That's divine." But the problem is, they were essentially fascists, so Alucard shot them. Which, fair. I don't like the idea of being heralded as a god either so they deserved it for two reasons.
I lived in this recurrent tower that had a giant mall attached, and I lived at the very top and a key was needed to get to there from the elevator.
As well, in a prior dream, I was cooking and messing with materials and came across a snail. Now, a previous dream gave me a previous snail. So now my snail has a buddy. In my recurrent setting I have a bunch of terrariums and I keep a lot of different creatures.
— ☆ —
So, today, I mostly started and opened up two new sideblogs (I apparently have a penchant for doing that in twos) for Touhou Project and Pokémon PCP/PCW respectively.
It snowed today. Not terribly much, but I collected some snow together. I got a full jar of snow which will be about a third of a jar of water, because snow is mostly air. I wasn't expecting to get so much so easily. I labeled it to not forget, and to not accidentally drink it.
I honored Letty Whiterock and Articuno for the snow. I thank them and appreciate them deeply.
I think that I'm gonna work more on quick starts, because I have plenty of time and want to.
I know how to do it for Pokémon, the spirits that aren't Gods, as a more general thing. Talk about the Pokémon, talk about what you can work with them for, etc, because with something like that everyone is gonna get an entirely different experience.
I'm mostly working on my TES one though, I wrote some for Reimu's quick start before giving up and working on Meridia's.
I haven't done anything much else today. I did the two readings I had to do, and I just got another one that I'll do tomorrow morning, and other than that I've mostly just been setting blogs up and chilling. Until bedtime I think I'm gonna work on Meridia's quick start. It's already partially done, so I just need to finish it, but I won't pressure myself to do so tonight. Then I'll try and work more on Reimu Hakurei's and maybe start Kanako Yasaka's in preparation for year of the snake. But I gotta make sure I get Haki done by the 24th, at least I want to have it done by then. Because I have to put arbitrary binds on myself in order to be properly productive.
I've gotten some more stuff done for the 13 days of January that I do for my TES religion. Just general cleansing. Cleaned my room up some. That was good, makes me feel a bit better.
I think that's all for today. No deep thoughts, no musing, no nothing. Just a sweet and relatively short post tonight.

Whew, what a past few days! I worked (IT/Not CB), ran around the neighborhood for some Christmas presents to ship to my family in the US. I'm a dumb dumb the other day. I went to the Post Office and either forgot a custom form was needed (gifts of small value), or I figured they'd just have me fill out a piece of paper like every other time I've sent stuff out of the country.
It was like 80-85°F in there, packed with people (of course half are coughing, not wearing a mask (I was but I guess I'm a "weirdo" 🙄)... I was there for about 30 minutes. Two women were verbally fighting (in what I assume is Russian or Ukrainian) and the police showed up as I was leaving. 😅 This was after running from store to store to get some gifts to send. I sent my mom somewhat fancy arthritis gel, some chocolate, a candle that has a topper and it spins (via heat, a tealight candle-- Confusing to me but I saw it in action at the store!). I also sent (HAHA) 2 small bottles of water, put in Diet Coke bottles. I have to prove to them that the water here is *the best*! I sent my son some new snacks not available there and a hand-wrirten note, as requested. ❤️
And then I do my regular grocery/ cleaning supplies, etc. shopping. I'm pooped!
So I get home, undressed, and go siiiiigh.
And then Carl texts me and says we need to go to the theatre tonight-- In 3 hours, minus the 30 minute subway ride.
We ordered a 6 play package but we never got the tickets mailed or emailed, so Carl sent them an email, and they called.
I thought, okay, I'm tired, why the hell didn't they just send the tickets? But I felt like dolling up a bit, had something nice to wear (thank gawd for keeping clothes that didn't used to fit!) Got dolled up, Carl would meet me at the theater, and of COURSE, I got lost. They're re-doing the subway. It was raining, then sleeting then snowing. I was freezing and just wanted to go home. I had my phone and don't understand meters or crooked European streets. Blah. Missed the first act, the intermission was in 30 mins, so I said, it's fine (they'd let me sit on the balcony to not interupt the play-- "maybe on a stool". 🤣 Wtf, my prices were the same, but I digress...). I had to pee, I was walking forever, and my coat and previously fabulously looking hair were wet. Dried off, and had a white wine and waited for Carl for the Act II. Act II was great.
I enjoyed it, and I'll try to catch the first one online.
Today was just work, work, work. Tomorrow I plan to go Xmas shopping. The tree is up, with lights and ornaments. It's sooo nice to have a functional living room again! 😄

Oh that sucks that you had to go in when the weather was bad! I know my family got lucky where they live in Ontario and didn't get hit as bad as predicted thankfully. It's not a great day here. Windy and freezing rain at times. I'm so glad I clued up my shopping yesterday so I'm just in PJs and cleaning and wrapping today. A white Christmas is pretty but then the snow can all be gone on Boxing Day ☺
Oh I love a good birthday week spam! I thought about doing a Christmas countdown of my fav pics of the PJ guys but never got around to it lol.. Maybe next year!
I love berries. A fav quick treat lately is toasting a belgian waffle and when it cools down a bit I smother with cool whip and top with raspberries, blackberries and strawberries 😋 It's so good and the berries make it totally healthy, right?
Will you have a traditional turkey dinner? I'm not looking forward to all the time I will have to spend tomorrow cooking it but I am looking forward to a heaping pile of potato, stuffing and gravy!
Hopefully I'll find a little time tomorrow to reveal myself. Then you can expect me in your notes as I go on a dig around your blog! I may have already saved a few things in my drafts 👀
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas 🤶
Glad your parents are okay!! In the GTA it was hell here 😩 I'm sorry that the weather isn't great there either omg. Also glad you got all of your shopping done and now you can relax!!
Oh yeah you're gonna see a Danny spam on his birthday 👀 Oh that's so cool, you totally should do a Pearl Jam one next year, that would be epic!!
YUM and I totally think that's healthy cause berries haha. Pancakes are good with berries too like blueberries but I'm more of a plain pancake and waffle person with maple syrup!
Ahhh that's awesome! We're having roast beef tonight since we don't wanna cook too much before leaving on Monday morning, we're also having roasted and mashed potatoes, carrots, and onions. Also lemon squares, apple pie, and shortbread cookies for dessert!
Yes yes I can't wait for the reveal! We're already fast friends!!! And Merry Christmas to you as well!! 💖

-------
You arrived at the door of Rafael's office early once again, knocking this time. You looked like a million bucks. You had taken at least an hour to get ready, your outfit, your hair, your makeup. You were ready to make a move. You knocked again. There was no answer. He should be there, maybe he didn’t hear you. You knocked a little louder. Where could he be? You decided to take a peek and peer open his door to see the most horrifying sight:
Rafael and Olivia, making out on his desk. They both snapped back when they heard the door open.
“Y/N!!” He yelled angrily. “Don't you knock?”
“Oh.. oh my God I'm so sorry sir I'm really sorry. I just brought your morning coffee sir,” You were upset, embarrassed , confused , distraught unable to speak, unable to think.
“Well you should learn not to peep on other people Y/N,” Olivia gave you an evil smirk. “I should get going anyway baby,” she rubbed the lipstick off Rafael's lips. “I have a long day.”
“Oh but I'll miss you carino,” Rafael whined while rubbing his nose against hers in a disgusting fashion.
“I know baby, but maybe we'll have lunch?” She messed with his collar.
“You can count on it,” Rafael growled seductively, smacking her butt as she walked towards the door. “Two can play at your game,” she whispered at you as she walked out
Oh my god. Oh my God oh my god!! How did she know? How was it possible? So many things went through your head at that moment.
“I um, I left something at my desk,” You lied quickly as you headed out the door.
“Olivia!” You called after her angrily suddenly overwhelmed with courage. She stopped and turned and stared at you
“Really? Got some balls on you now do you?”
“What did you do?” You demanded.
“I didn't do anything to him.” She acted innocent. “He just realized that his feelings for me were there all along,” she batted her eyes mockingly. “Isn't that what you did?”
“It's not real!” You barked. “You know it's not real. It'll wear off by tomorrow,”
“Oh I really don't think it will” She held up a water bottle in her purse and it was filled with a….purple liquid? Yep it was purple. Why was it purple? Did she make it stronger? Oh God how strong did she make it?
“Olivia you can't do this to him. I stopped and realized if it wasn't real, I didn't want it.”
“Oh that's bullshit.” She rolled her eyes. “You just brought him his morning coffee. You and I both know that it has that stuff in it. You just needed to refill him but I got there first.”
“No that's not true! You yelled, tears stinging your eyes now. “And he loves me. I know he does.”
“Oh my God you are delusional,” she laughed.” Look I'm happy you had a fun day yesterday but you’re out of your league here, sweetie. He's mine and he always will be? Got it?” She smirked again, then turned and stomped away in her heels leaving you there speechless.
----
You were furious, you were confused, you were upset and then you realized that you had to still continue this day as if nothing was different. Nothing was wrong. You wondered how strong Olivia's stuff was. You wondered what the rules were. Did it block out his feelings for you completely and only focus on her? Did it wipe any memory of you and him at all? Could you break it? You had so many questions you needed to call Chloe but you know you couldn't until your break so you sucked it up and walked back into Rafael's office.
“I'm really sorry about that so earlier,” You did your best to keep from crying. He looked at you with an almost look of disdain.
“Yeah well you really need to be more professional, Y/N.” He scoffed.
"Now you really need to get me copies of these prepositions by noon so that I can go to lunch with my beloved and then go to court.”
“Your beloved?” You spat unintentionally, wanting to gag.
“Excuse you?” He gave you an angry look.
"Look I know that you have some kind of crazy crush on me, but you need to learn that what me and my girlfriend have is something you can't get between so you really need to either control yourself or I will relieve you of your services.” He glared at you.
You couldn't breathe, you felt your heart beating in your chest and your ears. Your palms were sweating, you were having a panic attack. What the hell did she put in her concoction? How did she make him turn so harshly against you?
“I... Yes sir, sorry sir, right away sir,” You whispered grabbing the papers from him running out of the office.
Finally after you got Rafael his copies and he stormed out of his office to go meet his “beloved”, you took the break to call Chloe in tears.
-----
“Oh My God, what happened honey?” She asked, immediately hearing your sobs over the phone.
“She did it,” You sobbed.
“Who did what now?”
“She found the spell! Or some spell. I don't know what she did. I don't know how she could have-- I don't know what she did!!!” You kept sobbing uncontrollably not being able to form coherent thoughts.
“Okay, I'm going to need you to slow down,” Chloe said in a calming manner. “Breathe honey. Use your words. Now explain to me exactly what happened,”
You took several deep breaths trying to compose yourself so that you could explain what was happening to her.
“I went into Rafael's office this morning, and he was making out with that vile woman,” You sniffled.
“What vile woman?”
“Olivia, his ‘beloved’,” you rolled your eyes through your tears.
“His beloved?”
“It's some woman that he works with, and apparently has been in love with him forever. She somehow, I don't know how, figured out what we did to him and she somehow found her own spell. Which I'm pretty sure is not the same one, because it was a purple liquid. AND she not only created feelings for her, she made him hate me!!” You continued to sob.
“...Oh,” Was all Chloe could say.
“OH…?!” You scoffed. “I thought you said that magic laws frowned upon spells like that, controlling people's free will!”
“It does! Good magic anyway,” She sighed.
“What the hell does that mean?” You yelled angrily.
“Well I mean you know there's good witches and bad witches,”
“Oh my God, what in the Wizard Of Oz fuckery--”
“I don't know what to tell you honey. That's how it is. There's good magic and there's black magic. Black magic is all selfish and self-indulgent and instant gratification. She must have gone to somebody who deals in that,”
“Who could it be?”
“I don't know! It's not like they're listed in the yellow pages! WAIT-- Oh my God I think I might have an idea,” Chloe suddenly paused. “...But you're not going to believe me,”
“Oh my God what does that mean?” you asked wearily.
“Well.. you've seen all the movies right? You know like Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White,”
“Oh God. Are you seriously going to tell me that true love's kiss can break the spell?”
“Well.. you really don't have any other options right now, do you?”
“CHLOE those are Disney movies for fuck’s sake!!”
“Hey, remember Once Upon A Time? THAT was the ‘real world’, and true love’s kiss brought magic to our world!” Chloe pointed out.
“THAT’S A TV SHOW!!!!!”
“I don't know what else you want me to say here babe. But you should do it. Unless you want to lose him forever to this “Olivia” person. You said that she had a lot of it, right? She could keep this up for as long as she wants. AND the more she gives him the stronger it's going to be and the harder it is going to be to break. I mean he might end up really hating you and firing you, and then your whole life will be ruined. You not only need to break this spell for you to be happy, but before it impacts your entire life,” Chloe warned.
“Oh my God, oh my god…” You whimpered. “I should have never done this.”
“Hey chin up this will work out I'm sure of it!” She said in a chipper tone.
“Okay Jiminy,” You rolled your eyes as you hung up and went back to your office. You did your best to continue with the rest of the day, trying to stay out of Rafael’s way. Which wasn't hard, considering that he was in court most of the day. Around four he texted you and told you that he was no longer in need of your services for the day so you could go home early. Oh also he just HAD to add that he was going to go out with Liv. You wanted to vomit. You headed home and went to brainstorm with Chloe.
-----
“Okay so I've been researching black magic. Chloe had papers sprawled out all over her bed when you came home. “She must have used a combination of love and hate spells.”
“Wait, so you mean actual love spells? Like actually creating fictitious love? Not just magnifying what he felt for her?”
“Correct” she nodded. “I don't think he ever had real feelings for her.”
“Well he said that she and him had a thing, and that he thought about her like that when they first met. So maybe it was going off of that,” You shrugged sadly.
“Another thing we need to figure out is how to get the rest of the potion from her somehow,”
“And just HOW do you expect me to do that?!”
“I don’t...I don’t know,” She shrugged, sifting through her research.
“Chloe, give me something you DO know,” You rubbed your temples; this was giving you a migraine.
“Okay… well, maybe if I talk to my other friends they can figure out a way to counteract the effects even just a little, if you're not willing to or unable to get true love's kiss,”
“Oh God--”
“Hey, I'm just saying”
“Whatever.” You sighed. “My head hurts, my heart hurts, everywhere hurts Chloe,” You whined. “I just want this to be over,”
“Okay honey just-- just go get some sleep, I’ll figure out a game plan for you to use tomorrow,”
“Okay...thank you,” You gave her a small hug and went to your room.
You went to bed with a deep feeling of dread.

"What time is your flight tomorrow?"
You were resting your head on Joshua's stomach who was laying on your bed, Miu was going to stay with her parents for a few days so you asked him to come at your place instead of going out.
"3PM."
He simply stated as he played with your hair, you looked at your watch for the time, 9PM, nearly 17 hours more before he will go back to  Korea.
"I didn't even realize how two weeks went by so fast, I'm gonna miss you."
You looked at him pouting as he cupped your face and decided to leave his hand as it was, you held his wrist bringing it to your lips and placed a soft kiss.
"I'm going to miss you too."
You played with his fingers as a comfortable silence surrounded you, he could sense you were upset that he had to leave to carry on with the promotion and he wasn't feeling any different either.
"Want me to stay the night?"
You looked at him with shock expressions, what was he thinking? His laugh resonated through your small apartment as you watched him beat his chest a few times to stop himself.
"I mean we won't do something, you know what I mean unless you want to, I'm totally down, but I just want to be with us as much as I could since I know it will take a while till we meet."
"Then stay."
You got up from your place and lay beside him as he brought you closer to his body relishing your sweet scent.
"Y/N it's snowing."
You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion as you looked out of the window, immediately feeling excited about it.
You ran towards your window spreading your arms to catch it in your hands.
"Why is it snowing so suddenly in the middle of autumn?"
You wondered giggling as you felt him come behind you, wrapping his hands around you in a back hug, his one hand came to hold yours which was out of the window and pulled it back inside.
"Don't do that, it can be harmful and you could get cold."
He playfully scolded you, your eyes sparkled like it's the first time you were witnessing the snow, he guessed winter may be your favorite season.
He thought about it, it was your first snow together even though it was falling in the off season, winter was surely his favorite season from now on too.
▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️
He excused himself from you explaining he's going to talk with Seungcheol about his stay as you took your shower.
"Why aren't you in the hotel yet?"
Was the first thing he said as soon as he picked up his call.
"That's exactly why I called you, I'm staying with y/n tonight, I never unpacked my belongings anyway so it won't take much time for me to get ready for the flight, I'll be back in the morning I swear."
"Joshua….you know I won't entertain your idea of staying with her, why did you call me instead of anyone else?"
Joshua sighed looking back to see if you have returned from the bathroom before making his way towards the couch.
"I knew that you'll be the one who would oppose and if it was fine with you then I automatically knew that everyone was fine with it too."
"So smart."
Joshua chuckled at his sarcastic remark.
"So I promise I'll return in the morning, it's going to be the last day I'm going to stay with her, it isn't like I'm getting distracted or something, it's our holiday."
"You're seriously risking Joshua, what if she leaves you just like Soohyun, I wouldn't bear watching you going through all of that again, I'm just afraid of you getting hurt."
The name tucked a few chords in his heart as memories flashed in his mind.
"You can't expect me to be stuck up with her till now do you? Don't worry about me Seungcheol like I said trust me."
The line was silent for a while and Joshua wondered if he cut off the call when he spoke again.
"Tomorrow morning, before I open my eyes, you'll greet me with breakfast."
And the line was cut off.
"Joshua, you're done talking?"
He answered you, making his way towards you, to see you already sitting on the edge of your bed drying your wet hair.
"Look how beautiful you are."
He grabbed the towel from your hand and began drying your hair as you sat there watching him do so.
"You're more beautiful than me."
You pouted as you circled your arms around his torso and put your chin on it, pouting at him.
He laughed and shook his head.
"I've something for you which I bought while me and the boys were out with our manager the other day."
"Something for me?"
You grabbed the towel from his hand and hung it on the clothes stand as he made his way towards his coat to grab whatever he bought for you.
He sat on your bed, patting the spot beside him looking at you and you made your way towards him.
"Give me your hand."
You did as he said and watch him take out a piece of jewelry from a velvet box and wrap it around your wrist.
"A bracelet?"
"It reminded me of you and I know how much you love bracelets so I thought it would be perfect, wear it regularly and it will remind you of me, I have the identical one too."
He excitedly brought his hand beside yours to show the same bracelet. You grinned at him as you hugged him, mumbling how happy his gift made you.
"You didn't have to buy this for me though."
"I wanted to, so please don't say things like that."
"Okay okay, as you wish."
"Think of this as a seal towards my promise to you."
You nodded your head at him, your eyes falling on the clock in your room.
"Now shall we sleep? You have a long flight ahead tomorrow so rest as much as you can."
He tucked you and himself inside the blanket as he hugged you to sleep singing in your ears.

Christmas With... The Longbottoms! - Neville x Reader
Tumblr media
A/N: welcome to part two of my Harry Potter Christmas series! Neville is my absolute favorite character so I really enjoyed writing this for him. I hope you enjoy reading it!
Warnings: None
Words: 2,500
*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#
I nearly fell to the ground as Neville and I landed our apparition at his house. Him and I have been best friends pretty much since the first day of our first year at Hogwarts and every year we spend Christmas together. We alternate whose house we spend it at every year. Since we were at my house for Christmas last year we'd be spending it at his house this year.
His house was tall, three stories to be exact, and boxy. The siding is darkly colored and it seemed as if it was leaning forward. There wasn't much character to it unless you count the feeling of gloom it gave to anyone within sight of it. One thing about the house was off though… there were no Christmas decorations up.
"Neville, in the six years that we have been spending Christmas together I have never seen your house sans decorations."
"With the rise of he who shall not be named Gran didn't want to decorate. Said it didn't feel very Christmassy this year."
"That's rubbish."
"I s'pose you're going to gripe about it aren't you?"
"You know me too well. The only reason it doesn't feel like Christmas is because you don't have any decorations up! Voldemort didn't cancel Christmas!"
Neville flinched at the mention of the name and I turned to him and placed a hand on his shoulder, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to shout it."
"S'alright. Just wasn't expecting it is all."
I gave him a hug and held him tightly. Neville and I were always very touchy. I'm not quite sure what the reasoning was behind his touchiness but mine came from the constant want to be close to him. I would easily admit it to anyone that asked but no one really seemed to notice my liking for him, including him.
Neville pulled away from our hug,"you're still wearing my scarf."
"I need it right now too, it's freezing out here."
"We could go inside if you want. It is cold."
"It is. Let's go."
We jogged inside and pulled the door closed quickly behind us. The warmth hit me like a nice cozy wall. The inside of Neville's house was always dimly lit and you could tell that his gran had decorated. That's not to say it wasn't cozy though. I always felt welcome at Neville's. However, I have to admit that his gran is not my favorite person in the World because of the way she treats him sometimes.
Neville shed his coat and then turned and offered to take mine. I peeled my coat off and set it gently in his hands.
"Gran, we're home," he bellowed after hanging up the coats in the entry way closet.
His gran came shuffling out of the kitchen door at the end of the narrow hallway that led to the rest of the house.
"Welcome, y/n. Merry Christmas."
"Thank you, Ms. Longbottom. Merry Christmas."
"It's late. Shouldn't you be preparing for bed?"
"We just got in Gran."
She huffed, "well I'm going to bed. You know where the blankets are Neville."
"Night Gran."
"Goodnight," I added as she began to climb the stairs.
Neville and I watched in silence as she disappeared at the the top of the stairs. She was awfully abrasive tonight. Don't get me wrong she was often grumpy but not usually entirely unpleasant. I assumed it was voldemort's recent re-appearance that probably had her on edge.
"Shall we go up then," Neville asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Sure."
I went to grab my bag but Neville got to it first.
"Let me y/n."
"You don't have to do that, really, I can get it."
"Y/n, I'd carry you up if you let me," Neville said starting up the stairs.
"You're too sweet, Neville," I said following.
Neville's bedroom was on the top floor of the house and down a long haul. I wasn't in the best shape and I hate to admit but I would be put of breath by the time we got to his room. Once, when we were younger, we got an old slab of wood out of the attic and sled down the stairs over and over again until his gran caught us. I swear we never sat still as kids.
Reaching his room, Neville dramatically kicked the door open, having both of his hands full with my suitcase. I laughed at his overdramatic way of opening the door. Every year we spent Christmas at his house we always just slept in his room together. I was surprised that this hadn't changed as we grew older.
"Y'know, either your gran really trusts us or she hasn't really thought this whole thing through," I chuckled.
"I think she just doubts my abilities."
"Your abilities‽" I laughed.
He struggled to try and explain what he meant and was stuttering all over the place. He finally settled on saying, "you know what I mean."
"I really don't," I said pulling blankets down out of his closet and setting them on the window seat.
"Gran sees it as how I tend to be bad at everythin'," he said coming over to make the window seat up for a bed.
"You are not Nev." I cupped his cheek and turned his head to look at me. "Sure you used to be a bit clumsy but first of all there's nothing wrong with that and second of all you've grown out of it."
His eyes were so gentle. I could truly sit and stare into them hour after hour. "It's hard to shake, y'know? That view of myself."
I guided his forehead to mine and practically nuzzles into him. "It's not hard for me. I see my best friend everyday and realize that he's turned into this amazing, gorgeous, young man and we're only sixteen. You've still got growing left to do. I'm not going to be able to handle you by next year." He chuckled. "And I'm so luck to have you. Honestly I'm jealous too, I wanna look this good." We both laughed. "Never doubt yourself Neville, you have no reason too."
"For the record, I think you look better."
I finally let go of his face and he continued to make up a bed with a big smile.
"Why don't you sleep in your bed and I'll take the window seat this time."
"But the window seat's not very comfy. I don't mind sleeping there for you."
I had to take a deep breath and clear my mind before speaking. He was so sweet sometimes that it was hard to not just tell him how much I love him. He's just so good to me. How could I not love him? It's a bit overwhelming but in the best way.
"I'll take it Neville, it's okay."
"If you want to switch just let me know, okay?"
"Okay."
I settled down into the window seat and Neville in his bed. Out the large circle window I could see the moonlight glinting off the snow below. One thing I loved about Neville's room is how at night it filled with moonlight because of this window. It made you feel calm and on a full moon you didn't need any artificial light to see. His room in general was calm, just like his presence. It's funny how someone so riddled with nerves and anxiety could always make others feel so relaxed and safe. I guess he didn't want anyone else to go through what he was going through. I looked across the room to see him gently fiddling with a plant on his nightstand. I always did my best to make him feel calm too. He's been through so much his whole life. A lot of it right here in this house.
"Hey, y/n, do you want to decorate for Christmas tomorrow? You were right, it feels wrong without it."
"I would love to."
"Can't wait. Good night, y/n, sleep well."
"Good night Neville."
"If you need anything, I'm right here."
I rolled over and dozed off quickly feeling safe and excited for the next day.
In the morning I quickly hopped up out of bed, excited to decorate and get in the Christmas spirit. I ran across the room and flopped onto Neville's bed causing him to bolt upright and exclaim.
"Good morning sleepy head."
"You really scared me there!"
"I'm sorry."
"It's alright. I'm excited too. Just let me get dressed."
He tucked himself away in his closet to get dressed and didn't come out until I had told him I was fully clothed.
"You look so festive!" He was referring to my Christmas sweater that had little lights all over it.
"Thank you! You look very cozy."
He and I rushed downstairs to have a quick breakfast before getting to decorating. During which, his gran told us how it was wrong to celebrate when such dark things were going on in the World. Which is exactly why I thought we needed to decorate, it would surely bring some light to that darkness. We asked her for help with decorating since we weren't allowed to use magic outside of school yet and wouldn't have any way to hang the lights. She declined though and we realized we would have to do things the muggle way.
Once up in his attic we struggled to find the string lights and everything we would need to hang them but eventually we found everything. Getting the lights up one the house was certainly going to be the hardest part.
"So we have to use the muggle device," I stared at the tall triangle with spaced out stairs that was folded up and leaned against the wall.
"I think we can figure it out alright," he picked up the odd thing.
We grabbed all of our decorations and the muggle device and lugged all of it to his front yard.
"Where do we start?"
"If you'll hold the ladder, I'll climb up and hang the lights," I offered.
"That's dangerous. What if you fall?"
"Make sure you catch me," I winked at him and giggled as he turned bright red. "I'd trust you with my life any day Neville."
"That makes one of us," he said, leaning the ladder against the house. "Please be careful."
"I will be, try not to worry."
I climbed the ladder with a bundle of lights and looked back down at Neville. Goodness it WAS high up and we're not even to the top of the house yet.
"You alright?"
"Yeah I'm okay, Neville," I shouted down.
He was holding the ladder steady and I'm pretty sure if I was down there I could see his knuckles turning white from how tight he was gripping it. I was very careful to keep my balance as I hung the lights across the eave. I leaned back, keeping a tight hold on the ladder, to see if I had the lights even. When I was satisfied with the way they looked I began to back down the ladder. I stepped down to the third ring from the top and my foot slipped off. Everything was a blur as I fell toward the ground rapidly. I heard a grunt as I landed that I was sure wasn't mind and the ground felt much softer than it ought to.
"Does this count as catching you," Neville groaned from underneath me.
"I'd say so," I groaned, propping myself up on my hands.
"You alright?" He smiled up at me.
"Yes, thanks to you," I wiped a strand of hair out of his face.
We stayed there on top of each other. It was mildly awkward but somehow not at the same time and eventually we burst into laughter.
"I suppose I should get off you now."
"I s'pose."
"You're so warm though," I laughed getting up.
"If you're cold we could go in and warm up," he got up off the ground.
I told him that I was fine and we continued on with the lights. We each took turns going up on the ladder to hang them. Neither of us made the mistake of falling off again. Not only did we hang up lights on the house but we put lights in his front bushes and candy canes along the front path. By nightfall we had his house looking more festive than ever before.
We sat inside now, in his room. With everything going on out in the World right now this was surprisingly shaping up to be one of my favorite Christmases with him. I don't know what it is but I feel closer to him than ever.
"I'm still cold from being out all day. Are you," I asked Neville who sat across the room on his bed.
"Little bit. I had fun though."
He got up and walked over to the window seat and sat down across from me. He grabbed the top layer of his clothes and pulled the sweater off and handed it to me.
"H-Here."
"Thanks," I said slipping it on. "I'm beginning to think I'll be cold forever."
Across the seat the Christmas lights shone in the window casting a light glow of color onto Neville. He looked so handsome, he always did.
He held his arms open for me, "if you're still cold I could help."
I scooted across the bench to lean into him. His arms wrapped around me and I nuzzled into him. We sat like that for a long while, talking about anything and everything, laughing and carrying on. The whole time we've been sitting like this I've been considering telling him how I feel. It would be so easy too. There was nothing stopping me. Well, except for the fact that he can be so shy and if I told him he might just curl up into a ball and never speak again. But maybe it was worth a shot.
"Neville."
"Yeah?"
"I really like you. Like a lot."
"I thought we had established that already," he laughed.
"Wait, you knew I have feelings for you?" I turned around in his arms to look at him.
"You have feelings for me‽"
"That's what I meant when I said I like you a lot!"
"Oh….," He stared off into space as if to contemplate this deeply.
"You know if you don't have feelings for me too that's okay," I said, hopeful that he wouldn't confirm what I had just said.
"No! No! I just didn't want to tell you. I really love having you around and I didn't want that to change."
"Well, I'd like to be around more, if you're okay with that."
"I don't think that's possible," he laughed.
"Even so," I chuckled.
I kissed him on the cheek and settled back down into his arms and as he nuzzled his head into the back of mine everything was as it should be.

OC Characters Involved
Selene ♔ Tethys
Tethys belongs to @ren-meteor! Selene belongs to me!
Tethys had been thinking about this for a while. She had prayed many times but this particular prayer required some rare tribute. She had heard tales, myths, and supposed acolytes talk about Selene. She had many names and that was for certain. She went by Harbinger of Dreams to children to scare the big and bad monsters in their nightmares. She went by the Mother of Light Magic that brings light to the Dark Magic. Maiden of the Moon, was obvious since she was the Goddess of the Moon.
The last name that Tethys had heard was that she is the Mother of the Divine Children. It threw her off entirely because she didn't know how to think of the title. More than likely she was a mother. 'Don't think too deep about this Tethys.' She scolded herself as she got on her knees, remembering a position that Kung Lao had taught her so that she wouldn't be uncomfortable. 'Yes, child don't think about it.' Tethys froze the only thing she could see is the ground and her chest move up and down as she tried to calm her breathing like Raiden and Fujin taught her.
'She's already here? But I haven't even said the prayer yet.' That was a test question. She read the books and listened to the stories she knew of Selene's many powers. But she didn't get a response at least not right away. Tethys continued to walk the misty forest determined to find the praying shrine. She absentmindedly stepped on a twig. Keyword absentmindedly. Not even a second later she heard an animalistic growl.
Her first instincts was to fight even though she didn't know what she was fighting or she couldn't even see what she was fighting. So she ran. Her speed picked up when she could clearly hear footsteps. Footsteps meaning plural! Tethys didn't like that. 'You should run faster.' Tethys didn't know if the voice came from her head or around her but she was too busy running to find out. The voice clearly belonged to a woman. But she had no choice but to shrug it off as she arrived at Neoma Shrine.
Neoma was just another name for the moon. She liked it. She got on her knees, lit a white candle placing it in front of the shrine then took put pendant that moon design aligned with little stars. She placed it around the shrine and finally, she poured some water in a bowl because this was apart of the prayer. If the water turned white like milk that means that Lady Selene appreciates your offering and praise your prayers will be answered soon. But if the water turned it was simple, you have now angered the moon goddess.
Unbeknownst to Tethys Selene herself was sitting in a tree close by. She was always interested in all species coming to pray to and for her specifically. Selene had heard about Tethys but never seen and she was a beautiful woman! But still a child in Selene's eyes, she didn't mean to mess with her mind a few moments ago, Selene was just trying to warn the girl before her darling white wolves would have gotten her and ripped her to pieces whether she was half god or not.
Selene teleported behind Tethys waiting for her to finish the prayer. Selene waited until Tethys finished preaching to her or for her. Tethys opened her eyes and took off her hood she looked at the water and it was white! Tethys clapped her hands in excitement and then dipped her fingers in the water and the texture was surely- "It's bad luck to dip your fingers in the offering water." Selene informed and she watched as Tethys stood up grabbing her blade from her holster then and tried to strike Selene.
Selene caught her hand but did nothing more than speak "You're not an assassin because you would have reacted faster and much earlier. Are you a priestess may be a simple traveler." Selene knew who she was but she wanted to hear it come from Tethys mouth. She knew who those seafoam eyes belonged to. "Tell me who you are, if you wish to live to see another day," Selene said as she let go of her wrist and she wasn't going to hurt Tethys. It was against her morals and her vows.
"I'm Nomad-" Selene put her hand up to stop Tethys "Your real name. Do not make me repeat myself." Tethys would be lying if she said she wasn't intimidated right now the woman was smaller than her but she still had higher authority over Tethys. "My name is Tethys. I came from my village in Earthrealm. I trained under Raiden, The White Lotus, and the Shirai Ryu. I seek you now." Tethys declared. Selene smiled and tilted her head to the side "Do you know what you truly seek, my dear? I have had the dissatisfaction of meeting your father a time or two. Apologies." Selene laughed slightly to change the atmosphere because things had gotten so serious so quickly.
Tethys giggled "Well, I'm not offended I have never met the Almighty Poseidon either. Not much I'm living for." Tethys finished her sentence with a soft but sad smile. "Walk with me, raindrop," Selene said beginning to walk anyway, and Tethys collected her things not taking any notice to the love name that Selene called her then did a small jog to catch up with her. "My temple isn't far from here. You may stay the night if you'd like and as I can see, you are well packed." Selene said raising her brow gesturing to her bags.
"Me meeting you tonight was pure luck, Ms. Selene-" Selene had cut Tethys off again "Don't say luck. Luck is such a boring word to use at least in this situation. I would call this destiny...because neither of us know what the future holds now, do we?" Selene said and took that moment to look up at the sky and then back down at Selene. She could see everything so clearly. Selene had snow-white hair, pale skin with full lips, azure eyes that had no pupil showing another trait of her divine rights. She was wearing a pure white jumpsuit with a cape attached that was flowing behind her even though there was no wind and to top it off she was wearing boot heels that seem to shine and sparkle every time Tethys glanced at them.
Selene raised her hand and waved as blue magic started to whirl around the both of them. Selene then swiped her hands down, and Tethys closed her eyes thinking she was going to hit her. "Open your eyes, raindrop." Tethys could hear the rich laughter in her voice. Tethys did so and she was fascinated at the temple she was in. Just like her outfit, like her hair, and her outfit it was pure white with some black and blue of various shades. "Come. I'll show you to your chambers." Selene was already walking up the stairs. Tethys followed after with a big goofy smile on her face.
"Selene-" Selene cut her off "Don't take my kindness into something to be looked over Tethys." Right she was an elder compared to Tethys and she had to show respect and use the honorifics. "Lady Selene this happening fast I-I think we should talk more! I would really like to know more about you." Tethys spoke truthfully, and they reached a door. "And I you but from my perspective, you don't look in the best of mind to speaking to me in this time. Tomorrow." Selene told her and all Tethys could do was nod.
She had worn herself out collecting information and trying to find this location. Plus she still needed to send word to Raiden or Fujin that her travels were victorious or that she was safe. Tethys snapped out of her gaze as Selene opened the door. "I hope it is to your liking," Selene said and Tethys examined the room she did that with every room she walked in. She could tell immediately that this room had mot been tampered with or...ever used in the first place. She was the first one to enter this room. But other than that it was extravagant. Truly deserving of the meaning spoils of my wins.
Selene had teleported away and she was on top of the temple. She had to think and relax her body before something else internally would happen. She looked up to the moon. It was a full moon. "Who made you complete?" She questioned to herself with a chuckle.
Tethys watched as Selene left and had an overwhelming feeling of guilt. Was she mad that she didn't compliment the room or thank her for the hospitality? She shook her head trying to clear it of wandering thoughts. She set down her stuff then climbed in the bed herself.
By the gods, the bed was pure too!
Don't worry this is getting a part two.

9 | The Miraculous Bastards
Tumblr media
Pairing: Zuko x Ama (OC)
Word Count: 6100+
.☽☼☾.
~ Ama ☾ ~
Around the dinner table, we all chatted happily. After all it's been years since we were together like this. And this time we had some new friends. I sat with my cheek resting on my palm while I watched Aang and Katara tell the story of their engagement again.
"Honestly, I don't know what came over him. I was so focused on the sun setting that I didn't even hear him ask the first time." Katara laughed, taking another sip from her wine.
"I thought her being quiet was a no at first." Aang was finishing. "She practically had to threaten me to repeat the question. And when I did she instantly said yes." He and Katara shared a loving look.
"Threaten you with what? No kisses?" Toph taunted them. Everyone laughed as Aang blushed.
         "N-no." Aang claimed.
"Then what?" Toph pushed. Based on the deep red blush on Aang and Katara's cheeks. It must be something a little... different than kissed.
"Anyways." Katara avoided the question, bringing the red wine to her lips again. "Before we all retire to bed. I think Ama had something to announce."
Everyone's eyes immediately turned to me. Gosh, I already regret telling my sister that I wanted to come out to everyone at once. "One moment." I held up my pointer finger as I chugged the rest of my wine while the others chuckled at me. The light burning in my throat made me clear my throat, as I set my glass down.
"Here goes nothing." I mumbled to myself and started picking at my nails. "Okay, well as everyone knows, there were a good two years where I-"
         "Disappeared?"
         "Went dark?"
         "Didn't visit?"
Some of the others finished. My jaw dropped in an offended way as the table erupted in more laughter. "You know what, yes." I admitted. "And in those two years, I sort of fell in love."
         "That's wonderful."
         "What's his name?"
         "Where is he?"
         "How great."
The table erupted in chatter again. "Okay, you all aren't really helping me with my nerves right now." There was a slight shake in my voice as I spoke and they all stopped talking immediately.
"I think I get it." Ty Lee said, mainly to herself. I wondered if she actually knew what I was saying and gave the peppy girl a curious look. "You're pregnant!"
         "Ama, really!?"
         "Congratulations!"
"I'm going to be an aunt!?"
"No!" I shouted, rapidly shaking my head and my arms out in front of me. "It's been a year since I've last seen them. Besides, it was never even a possibility. Cause- well." I looked around the table. They all either had confused or curious expressions.
My eyes landed on Zuko, he was leaning back into his chair. Arms crossed over his chest as he waited to hear me speak. His soft golden eyes bore into mine. Immediately, I felt calmer and just blurted it out. "The whole point of me saying all of this is because I'm bisexual and Mulan was a woman who I was very much in love with!"
"Oh, that's old news!" Toph immediately exclaimed before anyone could say anything.
"Old news? I just told Katara and Sokka this morning. They were the only ones who knew!" I pointed out, motioning to my siblings.
"Oh." Toph realized. "Then I guess it's just old news to me. You're heartbeat always sped up whenever you saw an attractive woman." My face reddened and I buried my face in my hands.
"Moving on. I think that's great, Ama." Suki said, looking at me from beside Sokka, who sat between the two of us.
"Yeah. We're all very happy for your new found understanding of yourself." Ty Lee grinned at me. "Or would it be an old understanding of yourself? Either way, your aura is very purple and bright!"
"So, none of you think differently of me?" I wondered, peeking through my fingers.
"Of course not. You're still the same Ama." Zuko spoke up, giving me a comforting smile. He didn't speak all that much the entire night.
"So what happened?" Ty Lee's curious voice wondered.
I shrugged, a somber expression on my face. "She got really sick one day and died." Some voices expressed words of condolences quietly. "It's been hard, but everything happens for a reason, I guess." I began to feel extremely uncomfortable in the dismal atmosphere. The quiet was eating me up.
"Well," Katara spoke up, standing from her seat. I am so thankful for her ability to see when I'm uncomfortable. "it's been a long day and I'm exhausted." Aang stood up also, ready to go to bed as well.
"So am I." Ty Lee jumped from her seat. "Who knew traveling could suck all the energy out of a person." Slowly everyone left the table.
"Don't forget ladies, tomorrow is the bridal shower." Katara announced quickly before entering her room.
"Good job, sis." Sokka pulled me into him for a side hug. "The execution was a little rocky, but I'm proud of you for finally overcoming your fear."
"Sokka, your breath reeks of wine." I laughed, shoving him off me. "Get to bed."
"Mhh. Bed sounds good." Sokka mumbled happily then gave a sly look at Suki. "What do you think, Suki? Bed? Good?"
The girl smirked back at him seductively. "I think bed sounds great."
"Eww." I said in disgust. "You're going to make me throw up."
"Aww, you're just jealous you don't have someone in your bed tonight." Sokka teased.
"Yeah, it's totally because of that and not because your bedroom is right next to me." I raised my eyebrows and entered my bedroom. A sigh of relief escaped my lips. Finally. I can rest easy, I hope. The walls here are thick, right?

I woke up early with a list of things to do. But of course, everyone needs  their breakfast. Sitting at the dining table with a bread bun in my hands and a book in another.
"Watcha reading?" A familiar but still strange voice asked. Turning my head, I saw the one and only Zuko. I gave him a smile as he sat down, taking a bread bun from one of the bowls in the center.
"A romance novel." I replied, keeping my eyes on my book. "A princess falls in love with the stable boy. But he gets drafted into the war. The princess then disguises herself as a man in order to protect him."
"Sounds interesting." He responded. "I'll need to borrow it when you're done."
Memorising the page I was on, I set down the book. "So, how've you been?" I asked.
"I've been good. Bored, mainly." He shrugged. "You know. When I became Fire Lord, I was never told how much of my time would be spent with paperwork in front of me."
"That's rough, buddy." I quoted something he'd said a long time ago, cracking a smile from him. "How's Kiyi and your mom?"
"Good. Kiyi turned 12 a few weeks ago. And mom still asks about you." He responded with a warm smile.
"Did they get the bracelets I sent? I know it wasn't anything fancy, but-"
"They loved it." Zuko interrupted me. "Kiyi wears it almost everyday, actually."
"That's good to hear." I said, taking another sip from my tea. I grimaced at how cold it got from being neglected. I looked over at Zuko with an innocent look. "Hey do you mind-?"
Already one step ahead of me, Zuko took my tea cup, heating it up with his hands. Giving him a questioning look, Zuko just chuckled. "You're a very predictable person, you know."
"Well, thank you." I said, taking the cup back from him and sipping it. "So, did you boys plan anything for today?"
"Aang wants to go to the market." He answered. "Hey, what are some foods you recommend?"
"Depends." I started, pointing at nothing in particular. "Auntie Ashuna has a booth selling seal jerky. I find that to be pretty filling. There's also a booth selling different sea foods, but fried. Honestly, it's one of my new favorite snacks."
"Anything sweet?" He asked more specifically.
"Oh. Auntie Nalle has an entire bakery. She sells cakes, tarts, and all sorts of things." I listed, my mouth already watering at the thought. "She's going to be at the bridal shower, though, so Uncle Perlu will be running everything. Word of advice, don't stare at him. He'll write your name on a piece of paper and burn it."
He chuckled and looked a bit confused. "Should I ask?"
"It's kinda my fault." I recalled how I told my uncle that burning the name of a person was a great way of both detaching from them and wishing ill-will on them. "Anyways, I gotta get going. Bridesmaid duties." I stated, standing up from my seat.
"Have fun." He said as I was picking up my book, placing it under my arm to pick up my dirty dishes.
"You know me." I smirked. "I'll always have fun."
"Can you do me a favor?" He asked, just before I left. I nodded, for him to continue. "Keep an eye on Suh for me? I know she's a very extroverted person, but she can feel out of place easily."
"You can count on me mister Fire Lord." I assured him. He gave me a thankful smile as I actually felt the dining room this time.
My smile fell as I left. The mention of Suh made me feel... uneasy. I wanted to like her, I really did. But there was something about her that made me wary. I don't know what it is. But I will.
.☽☼☾.
"What a beautiful knife set." Katara opened the last gift. "Thank you, Mai." The Fire Nation woman nodded a 'you're welcome' while she grabbed a biscuit. Katara turned to look at me, as she set the gift to the side. "I didn't think I could get so many plate sets."
"You'll never need to worry about not having one." We chuckled together.
"It was a great idea to host the bridal shower here in the green house." Katara looked around at the place. Vines hung from pots, trees grew strongly, and flowers of all colors filled the clear paneled house. "It sets the perfect atmosphere and it's gorgeous."
"I know." I agreed. "Plus I think the two of us needed a break of the snow."
"Oh, please. You were in here like everyday up until two weeks ago." She mocked me, starting to fold up the gift bags.
"Yeah, some of the bridesmaid duties I were procrastinating on had finally caught up to me." I recalled, looking across the long table I noticed Suh chatting Mai's ear off. The poor girl looked so bored and annoyed.
Remembering my promise to Zuko earlier, I stood up and went over. "Hey, Mai. Katara could use some help organizing the gifts."
"Finally. Something to do." She said dryly and left her seat.
I took Mai's seat and smiled at Suh. "So, how are you liking the South Pole?" I started conversation.
"Oh, it's beautiful." She awed. "I always believed that the Southern Water Tribe was underdeveloped and unstable, but I was obviously wrong."
I tried not to feel offended by her little comment. After all, it wasn't like the Fire Nation was taught a whole lot about the other nations. "You should go to the market one day, you can get a taste of some more Water Tribe culture and food!" I suggested. "Zuko told me that he and the boys were going to be there today?"
"Oh. I didn't know that you and Zu-bear talked today?" It took everything in me not to burst out laughing at the nickname. Zu-bear? Zuko can't possibly like that. "But, anyways. I guess I'll try to go to the market."
"So, how did you and Zuko meet?" I inquired.
"Oh, it was nothing special." She swatted the air with one hand and grabbed her tea with the other. "The Fire Nation Council introduced Zuko to lots of women. We went on a couple dates, and just clicked. With all the competition I really didn't think Zuko would want to be with me, but well. Here we are."
"What does the Council have to do with Zuko's love life?" I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.
"Zuko, isn't exactly getting younger. The Fire Nation is going to need an heir." She spoke like it was common knowledge. "The Council just made sure that all the women eligible to him are fit to be Fire Queen."
It made sense. After all, the royal life is a lot more pristine than I know. The year I spent living in the palace had me following proper etiquette. And that was just scratching the surface. Still, having a group of people limiting who you'd spend the rest of your life with sounded terrible.
"And what did you do before you met Zuko. Were you a diplomat of some sort, academic...?"
"My father was a general in the war. I never really did anything." She answered. The answer was way too simple for my liking. Especially since she likes to talk. "I hope I don't sound rude, but I'd rather hear more about you." She grinned. "Zuko never really talked about you guys."
I was taken aback by that. He never talked about us? Why? Is he ashamed? No. Why would he? "Um, well. What would you like to know?"
"Everything!" She exclaimed excitedly. Her hands intertwined and a hopeful look glimmered in her eye. And I'm starting to see why Mai said she was unbearable.
.☽☼☾.
I rubbed by my temples slowly, stepping inside the palace with Katara behind me. "Remind me to keep Auntie Vik away from the alcohol at your wedding." I grumbled.
"I'll remember." Katara grumbled back. "It's been a long day. Oh, you know what would be nice? A relaxing time at the hot springs."
"That sounds like heaven." I moaned at the thought. "You think the others would want to join us? The sun hasn't even set yet, we have time."
"That's a good idea, actually." Katara grinned. "I'll go get everyone."
"And I'll go get the wine!" I exclaimed, sharply turning to the wine cellar.
And just like that, the second evening with my friends started. With wine in our hands and the hot, soothing water up to our chest.
"...I was so close to using my trusty boomerang on the guy. I mean, who does he think he is?" Sokka complained about some shop owned from the market.
"For not lowering the price by a couple copper pieces?" Haru chuckled.
"I'd already spent most of my money on food. And that dress was perfect for Suki." He grumbled. Suki shook her head, but still smiled at her goofy boyfriend, leaning into him.
"How was the bridal shower?" Aang turned the attention to the girls.
"It went well. And now we have a lot of plates to use." Katara grinned, making me chuckle.
"Props to Ama, though. The girl was hella busy both before and after the event." Toph brought the attention on to me.
"Oh, please it was nothing." I smirked and swatted my hand. "But the chef was so rude. He told me that the dishes I requested were 'too complicated.' I met with him last week to go over everything and he didn't say a word about it."
"I saw the way he talked to you." Suki spoke up. "He was way too bold."
"Seriously though, Katara. You better put as much effort as I am right now when I get married cause I've been busting my ass." I grumbled at my sister.
"Yeah well I won't procrastinate like you did." Katara crossed her arms over her chest and had a fun-loving smile.
"That's assuming that Ama will even get married." Sokka quipped, earning some snickers while my jaw dropped. "Hey, I just realized. Katara is getting married before Ama. Even though Ama is older and still single. Ha! Good luck sis."
"Sokka!" Katara scolded while I actually bent the hot water and splashed his face.
"Ow! Ow! Ama!" He hissed and with his eyes closed, he reached out of the water, using his hand to try and find his towel.
"Don't worry, Ama. You'll find someone." Ty Lee assure me.
"What is with you all?" I chuckled, running my fingers through my hair. "I am perfectly content with my life right now. I got my friends, my family. What more do I need? Besides, I'm not worried about that. After all, I was able to pull in the FIre Lord."
Zuko just shrugged with a cocky smirk and sipped his wine. "Hey, you got good taste I'll tell you that." Suh looked a bit uncomfortable at the mention of Zuko's relationship with me and pressed closer onto him.
"Minus Jet." Aang huffed a laugh.
"And we never got to meet Mulan. So we don't even know what she's like." Suki added.
"You know it would have been nice to meet her, Sis." Sokka said with his chin up in an offended way.
"It wasn't that I didn't want to," I threw my hands up and some water splashed from my hand. "You know, the world isn't exactly all that accepting of same-sex couples."
"I was actually really surprised when I found that out." Aang commented. "The Air Nomads embraced everyone's differences, no matter who they loved."
"Fire Lord Sozin decreed that same-sex relationships be made criminal when he came into power." Zuko said. "I'm still in the process of legalizing it. There's been quite a bit of pushback by the Fire Sages."
"Why?" I furrowed my eyebrows as I started to feel frustrated. "It makes so sense. The Water Tribe prefers for you to keep it to themselves, the Fire Nation will throw you in prison, and the Earth Kingdom families will kick you out."
"Is that what happened to Mulan?" Katara wondered softly.
"Was she kicked out? Yeah." I said somberly. "She was 13."
"I had a neighbor that was gay." Haru spoke. "He had to leave town because his farm hept getting robbed and received death threats."
"So now you can all see why I didn't tell you guys anything?" I raised my eyebrows at them all.
"Yeah, snowcone." Toph punched my shoulder. "But don't do that ever again."
"Yeah, yeah. You can't read, I get it." I chuckled as I rubbed the spot she just punched.
"Ama, I promise you that I will reverse what my great grandfather has done." Zuko assured me. "No one deserves to be punished for who they love."
I broke into a huge grin. "You're all the best I'm going to cry." My hand went up to my eyes, my thumb wiping the tears that started to drip.
"We're just glad you could confide in us." Katara swam over, embracing me in a hug.
"Yeah! You can always trust us." Ty Lee also swam over to embrace me.
"Okay, new conversation before I start bawling my eyes out." I laughed, the two girls left the hug.
"Ama, so emotional." Sokka shook his head in fake disappointment.
"Says the guy who cried when Auntie Ashuna ran out of seal jerky." I retorted. Sokka grumbled to himself as he sank further into the water.
"You know, I'm kind of curious to know about Toph and Kanto." Katara smirked at Toph.
The earthbender smirked smugly, taping a sip from her wine. "All you guys need to know is that we're together and he'll be at the wedding."
.☽☼☾.
Another day had passed and we were one day closer to the wedding. Today was chock full of wedding planning, or at least the finishing touches. Katara and Aang needed to confirm the centerpieces and the decorators were going over how to decorate the venue.
We spent hours there. And it wasn't the stressful atmosphere or the pre pre-wedding jitters Katara was having that made me feel uncomfortable. It was Suh. As best man, Zuko came along to help Aang out. And Suh never even left his side.
She kept talking out of turn, suggesting things that no one asked for, and was way too loud. "What about roses as the centerpiece instead of the panda lilies? They're so much prettier." and "Wouldn't blue be a more 'Water Tribe-y' than yellow?"
I had to constantly remind her that it was both Aang and Katara's wedding and that they wanted to incorporate both of their cultures into it. But it never sank into her head. She'd apologize and do it all over again.
"I can't stand that woman." I complained to the girls. We all, minus Suh, sat in Katara's room as Ty Lee tried different wedding hair styles on her. "Honestly, I don't know what Zuko sees in her."
"I told you." Mai said dryly. Yeah, I need to learn to listen to Mai more.
"Oh, she wasn't that bad." Katara argued with her sweet tone. "Sure she had a lot to say, but you can't hold that against her."
"Of course I can. She was being incredibly inconsiderate of our culture and us." I justified. I didn't know how Katara was being okay with this. I would have thought she'd be on the same page as me since it was her wedding.
"Ama, do you think you're maybe over exaggerating?" Suki suggested.
"Why would I exaggerate?" I huffed.
"Maybe 'cause you still have feelings for Zuko. And she's kinda engaged to him." Toph said without missing a beat.
"Will you all stop with that." I grumbled in annoyance. "I told you. I see Zuko as nothing more than a friend. My problem is with Suh."
"You're problem is with Suh because you like Zuko." Toph was blunt and spoke without holding back. She took pleasure in teasing others, but there was always truth in what she said. Still. She's human and can be wrong.
"You guys simply haven't spent enough time with Suh." Mai came to my defence. "I've had to put up with her for months. The woman has no filter."
Suki giggled from beside me and shook her head. "How convenient that Zuko's two exes are the only ones who don't like Suh." Mai just rolled her eyes and I scoffed. There was no way I'd be able to convince them anything. Not if they thought I still had feelings for my ex.
"I think Suh is nice." Ty Lee spoke up, tying the last band into Katara's hair. "How's this one?" She asked the bride. Katara was the focus of everyone's attention now.
She took a moment to look at herself in the mirror. Her dark hair was put into a loose braid and then swirled into a low bun to look like a flower. The strands by her face were tied with blue string all the way to the end and pinned to the back of her head.
"It's beautiful, Ty Lee." Katara complimented after giving it some thought. "It just feels too... posh. And all of the pins are poking at my scalp." She grimaced at the pain
"Hmm." Ty Lee placed a finger on her chin, thinking about how she could restyle it. "I guess we could try a half-up, half-down style." The girl started to unpin Katara's hair.
"Katara, shouldn't your hair be a bit more on the 'posh' side?" I asked her, stepping up beside to her to assist Ty Lee in removing the pins. "I mean, this is the biggest wedding of the year. Maybe of the generation."
"Oh please." Katara snickered, laced with nerves. "Just because I'm marrying the Avatar doesn't mean everything has to be so elegant. There's only 300 people."
Ty Lee and I shared an amused look. 'Only 300 people.' The vast majority of it were our family and friends, a few others from the tribe. But each nation was also sending reporters to cover the Avatar's big wedding.
Katara didn't want it to be as big of a deal as it was. But one thing led to another while planning, and it became a big deal. She wasn't complaining, though. Because at the end of the day there was only one thing that mattered to her. That she was marrying Aang.
Taking out the last pin from her hair, I looked at my sister. She was zoned out, stared at herself in the mirror with a soft smile. The kind that only a person in love would have. No doubt she was thinking about her loverboy.
"Okay, so what if I tied beads on the top and..." Ty Lee began explaining another style to try, using her hands to run through Katara's hair. I sat back down on the floor next to my sister, seeing how her smile grew at Ty Lee's description.
.☽☼☾.
The sun had barely touched the horizon. The sky was painted in hues of orange and yellow. The blue sea looked dark except to the line where the sun's light touched it.
I took in the sight. My back rested against a large oak tree on a cliff. My left leg was out in front of my while my right leg was close to my chest as I rested my arm on it.
So far, my journey was filled with knowledge and laughter. It was odd, though. I always had my siblings with me. They were my source of joy. Then it was Zuko. And for the past three years, it was myself.
I still saw my friends. In fact, just a week prior, I visited Toph at her metalbending academy. I rarely saw Zuko. Maybe just twice since our breakup. Once when I passed through the Fire Nation and once at Yu Dao. Apparently, he and Aang were planning on creating a whole new nation. The United Republic of Nations.
It was an interesting plan. Using the land that was previously Fire Nation colonies to create an entire independent state. One where benders and nonbenders of all nations could live together.
That was a few months ago. And since then, the United Republic has made advances. Last I heard, there was a vast majority of the population for it. I had no doubt that my friends would be successful in their project.
I sort of felt like a leaf, I guess. Drifting from place to place. Not that I was complaining. It was nice, learning new things and meeting new people. There was just something missing from my life. And I didn't know what.
I didn't let myself dwell on that. I knew I'd find this missing thing eventually. But at this moment, I just let myself be content. An apple in my hand and some stupid song stuck in my head.
Spirits, it was on repeat. It was a song I heard that afternoon from an old man in the town. "When I think of that painter, that beautiful painter. My heart almost bursts and I spin on the spot." It was a beautiful song with a gorgeous melody. But it wouldn't leave my head.
"Hello there, beautiful." A raspy voice interrupted my tranquil evening. "What's a girl like you doing out here all alone."
I craned my neck to see who it was. No one I knew. Just some man, perhaps a few years older than me, leaning smugly against the tree. His black hair slicked back with some sort of gel. His layered style was made up of dark clothing. But the most important part of his whole getup was the willow leaf saber in his hand.
Or in simpler terms. The man literally came up to me with a whole weapon out. I was an unarmed girl just enjoying the sunset. He was a thug.
During the war, it was the Fire Nation soldiers that caused problems in each city. That spot was now filled by criminals and gangs. They bullied citizens for money or food or anything they could get their hands on. I was lucky enough not to come across any of them. Until now.
I remained emotionless and just took a bite from my apple. "You know it's dangerous 'round these parts. You never know who might try to rob you. Especially a pretty girl like yourself." I almost laughed at how this man was trying to sound intimidating.
"Thank you, for letting me know." I replied, covering my mouth with the back of my hand while I chewed. I looked back at the sunset, trying to ignore his staring.
He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "Nice bag." He pointed at my colorful satchel with his sword. "What's in it?"
"Alot, actually. Some copper pieces, some gold, some silver. Passport, hair ties, good stuff like that." I egged him on and looked up at him. He had a mischievous smirk, thinking this would be an easy steal. "You can look through it if you'd like. But you won't find your dignity."
His smirk disappeared and he sneered at me. "You taunting me?" He pointed his sword at my chest.
I sighed with annoyance and got off the floor with my hands on my hips, his sword still pointed at me. "Look man, I was just trying to enjoy the sunset until you got here."
"Funny, I just started to enjoy my evening when I saw you here." He chuckled.
I didn't know how long he wanted to keep bickering like this. And I just wanted to get back to the sunset. So I snapped open my waterskin and bent the water in it to spash it against his sword and then froze it against the tree.
The man's eyes widened and tried to pull the sword out, despite it not budging. "Okay, buddy. It's been wonderful being threatened by you, but as you can see I will be winning any sort of fight against you. So, if you just agree to leave me alone, I'll unfreeze you little toy." I tried to strike a deal.
But my self-assured ass didn't see the man behind me. Pulling on my hair, he drew me close to him and placed a dagger against my throat. "Nuh uh, sweetie." His gross, hot breath was on my ear. "You see, we never travel alone."
Three other thugs came out of hiding. Each of them with disgusting smiles. One of them grabbed my bag and looked through it. "Ha!" She exclaimed, pulling out my bag of coins.
"Jackpot!" One of the others jumped happily.
"Now if you'll just unfreeze my friend's sword, we'll be on our way. And you'll be unharmed." The man who held me growled.
"Gladly." I responded and bent the frozen water off and struck the man holding me in the face. Effectively getting him to remove his grip on me.
The others sprung into action. Mister 'hello there, beautiful' ran over to me, swinging his sword. I dodged it by side stepping to my right, and used my water to, this time, push him onto the ground and froze his hand on the ground.
The woman stomped her foot on the ground, and the earth beneath me rumbled. I jumped back, avoiding the sharp earth that sprung from the ground. I took my water and used the waterwhip to slap her harshly, throwing her onto a tree.
But while I did that, I didn't notice that the other guy bent the earth, holding my feet to the ground tightly. It felt like the earth was cutting off the blood circulation to my feet. In shock I looked down. But when I looked back up the man was sprinting, sword in hand and ready to strike me through.
I called my water to me, but just before I could do anything, a new person entered the fight. A woman. All I saw was a blur of red hair as she tackled the man to the ground. Rolling back up, she lunged again. Punching the man's throat. His hand went up to where she injured him, like he couldn't breath.
The earth around my feet disappeared back into the ground. I was free, but I was right when I speculated that the rock was cutting of my circulation. It was like tiny needles were continuously poking at my feet, and I fell back into a seated position.
The man that held me before was back up and held his dagger tightly in his hand. Swinging it across his body to attack the woman. The mysterious redhead jumped back, grabbing his arm to hold him in place as she then kicking his knee in. The man, with a backwards leg cried out in excruciating pain.
One of the other, that hadn't done anything yet, dropped the bag of money on the ground. He unsheathed his sword and walked over to the woman. She in turn, unsheathed her own sword, a katana to be exact, and the two pieces of metal collided.
Using his own strength against him, she moved to the side and he fell forward slightly. And while he was hunched over, the woman slammed the butt of her katana against the back of his head, making him fall over in extreme pain.
The woman I fought earlier was also back up, bending two pieces of rock beside her, she threw it at the redhead. She dodged both as she ran towards her before sliding beside the woman. And when she jumped back up she kicked the back of her knee, getting the attacker to fall on her knees.
The redhead pointed her katana at the woman's head. And everyone paused. Well, all of them were maimed pretty badly. "You thugs need to watch it." The redhead's voice spewed venom when she spoke to them. "If you ever try to cause pain to another innocent person, I won't be as merciful."
The ones that were capable nodded in understanding. Satisfied, the mystery woman sheathed her katana walked over to me. With some feeling of my feet I stood up to greet and thank her. But I guess there wasn't as much feeling as I thought and my body started to lean forward. Luckily, the woman was right in front of me and caught me before I could fall any further.
"Woah there." She laughed lightly, helping me stand by wrapping her arm around my waist and allowing for me to lean on her. "Are you okay."
"Perfect." I chuckled at myself. "Thank you, so much." I then looked back over to the group of criminals. "That was incredible. The way you moved and everything."
The woman shrugged. "It was nothing. I do this over four times a week." I looked at her curiously. "I'm part of this group. The Miraculous Bastards."
"The Miraculous Bastards?" I laughed and was finally able to hold myself up. She chuckled with me. Spirits, her smile is gorgeous. In fact, now that I look at her, her entire self was beautiful. She had dark red hair that hung loose and ended at her shoulders. Sparkling forest green eyes. And she was taller than me by two or three inches.
"I didn't choose the name." She shook her head.
         "I'm Ama." I introduced myself.
"Ama?" She repeated like she recognised it. "Wait, weren't you one of the waterbenders that traveled with the Avatar?" I nodded and smiled at her excited reaction. "You literally saved the world! Meeting you is an honor."
"Thank you." This kind of attention always left me feeling a little awkward.
"So, what exactly are you doing here?"
I shrugged. "Just traveling around. That is, until something else comes around and my life takes another turn."
The woman tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. "Um, I hate to ask, but would you by any chance want to meet my friends? It doesn't have to be for long and our camp isn't far." She pointed with her thumb towards a direction away from the cliff.
"The rest of the Miraculous Bastards, you mean?" I inquired with a smirk.
         "Yeah." She chuckled.
"I'd love to." I agreed. "Just let me grab my stuff." I crouched down, grabbing my satchel and the bag of coins. Ignoring the groans for help from the criminals.
"I'm Mulan, by the way." The woman said quickly as we left the scene. I smiled at her. I didn't know what it was. But just speaking to her had me feeling something I haven't felt in a long time. Butterflies.
.☽☼☾.
I didn't want Ama's sexuality to be such a big deal. In an ideal world, no one would have to make a big deal or be scared of coming out. Heterosexual is not the default. But after watching Legend of Korra and reading the first comic, I realized that this would be something that Ama would have to confront.

Young Danny's POV
"Dan! Dinners ready!" My mom yells from downstairs. "I'll be right there!" I pause my game and make my way down. It's been freezing in my room lately, New Jersey winter really taking a toll on our house. The heater isn't installed yet, though I wish it was. I only have so many blankets.
"Dana, Leigh, there's new neighbors across the street. They've been here for about a week, I met the woman and her fiance last night, but her kids weren't home. I think it'd be a good idea to welcome them all. After dinner we'll all go down together. Is that a good idea?" My mom and dad have always been really nice like that. I feel wave of anxiety rush over me, it's not that I don't want to meet them, I just feel weird going to their house just to introduce ourselves. Dana nods her head and goes back to eating her soup, so content with her life. I'm not looking forward to this...
After we all finish eating, my mother tells us to get ready and look decent for the neighbors. What would 'decent' be? A regular shirt with jeans? I'll be in my jacket so I guess it really doesn't matter. After I get myself together, I walk downstairs to see Mom and Dad waiting for me and Dana. "Alright, let's go guys!" Dana comes out of her room dressed and ready as well. "I'm ready!" She yells with her childish voice. At least she's excited, because I'm not.
*ding ding dong ding*
A woman opens the door with a smile. "Oh, hello Debbie! What brings you here?" My mom smiles back at the woman, "I thought we could all come welcome you to the neighborhood!" The woman looks shocked a bit before she opens the door wide and invited us all in. "So this is my husband, call him Avi, my daughter Dana, and my son Leigh. He likes to be called Daniel, though." The woman smiles and shakes my dad's hand and mine. Dana has gotten a little bit shy, so the woman kneels down to her height. "Hi Dana, I'm (y/m/n). I work with kids your age all the time! You know, we have a pet turtle, his name is Cheesy. Would you like to meet him?" Dana's eyes light up at what (y/m/n) said. She nods her head frantically as the woman points to a glass talk with rocks and a little bit of water. "He's right there. Go ahead and talk to him!" As Dana runs to look at, what I assume is Cheesy, the woman turns back to us. "My fiance is at work right now. But my daughter and son are here. Y/N!" (Y/m/n) yells upstairs. "I'm coming!!" A little voice yells back. A girl came downstairs into view. She looks my age, but I haven't seen her at school, is she new? "This is my daughter, y/n. My younger son, Jacob is taking a nap in his room. Shes been working on her room all day." My mom smiles at y/n, "hey y/n! How old are you? Do you go to school here yet?" Y/n looks down, clearly a little shy. "I'm 12 years old... I don't go to school yet here, I'm new, I kind of don't want to." She states truthfully. She's only a year younger than me, but she seems very mature for a 12 year old. Then again, I'm kind of mature for a 13 year old.
As time goes on, y/n and her mom start breaking out of their she'll a little bit. Ms (y/l/n) says they just moved here from (h/t), she left her husband a while back and met a man who lived here. So I guess the man who lives here now isn't y/n's and Jacob's actual dad. Something about that is really sad to me, I have both of my parents. I can't really imagine what it's like to only have one in your life. "Is y/n going to go to the same school as Leigh?" I knew that question would come up. And turns out, yes she will. I'm not really complaining. At least she'll have one person she knows. I'm not entirely popular at all, but at least she won't be alone. Y/n looks at me and smiles. She really does have a sweet smile.
~later that night~
"Debbie, she's out there again! Poor kid, I hope she's okay." My dad calls out to my mom. "She's out there almost every night. Do you think she's okay?" I get curious and look at the time. 10:18 pm. Who would be out this late? Sure, it's a Saturday, but it's so cold outside this time. It's probably going to snow soon. I walk out to my mom and dad to see what's going on. "Who's outside?" Mom points out the window and I look out to see a figure sitting in the empty driveway across the street. "Almost every night, y/n just sits on the cold driveway. Her mom works graveyard shifts a lot. I wouldn't doubt it if she's home alone, poor thing." My mom puts her hand over her heart and looks down, her motherly instincts kicking in. "Leigh, could you please go out there and see if she's okay? She's always out there for hours at a time." I comply to what my mom says, mostly because I don't want to disappoint her by saying no. Also, I'm a little curious as well as to why she's out in the cold so late.
Y/n POV
Space is so cool. I've loved the stars and planets since I was a baby. On the nights when my mom is working, Jacob stays with my stepdad at his place. He's only 5, I get it. At this point I'm used to being alone. It's not a bad thing. I like it. When I was younger my dad would always leave me by myself so he could work. I was old enough to take care of myself though, little 7 year old me. I would do this back then as well. Sit outside and look at the sky. Even on days when the sky would be covered by clouds, I'd still stare In wonder above.
I hear a door close across the street and a skinny boy huddled up in jackets walk out of it. I hope he's not coming here, I'm not good with boys one on one. They make me feel awkward. Plus, he's a good looking boy. That makes it way worse. "Y/n, right?" He's standing right above me. I smile slightly, "Yeah, that's right. Aren't you cold?" He's very skinny, probably doesn't have body heat of his own like me. Im on the thicker side of the wall when it comes to looks. I'll probably always will be, but that okay. "Yes I'm freezing. But I saw you out here and I thought I should ask if you're okay."
I look up at him, "I'm okay. I just like looking at the stars. I'd rather be out here looking at the sky than in a quiet house." I tell him truthfully. "Are you home alone?" I nod and smile. "Yea, my mom works at the children's hospital and my little brother is with my stepdad at his house. I dont go because my stepsisters don't really like me. Which is fine, I don't really like them either." He sits down by me, criss crossed and hands in his pockets. "Are you okay on your own, though? My mom is worried too." His mom? Why would she be worried about me? I guess I am out here a lot. "Tell your mom im fine, and thank you for worrying. I appreciate that." He looks back to his house and then to me again. "Do you want me to sit here with you for a bit?" I smile again, "Sure. Just don't get frostbite in my driveway." He laughs and I join in as well.
~1997~
Y/n POV
I've known Dan for almost 6 years now. Since that night he'd be sitting on my driveway with me any chance we could. He's grown up a lot, but so have I. I'm proud of him, really. He just graduated high school, the only thing is, he's leaving for college. I still have 12th grade left. It sucks, my best friend is leaving. In the 6 years I've known him, I've grown to have a massive crush on him. He's gotten a lot taller, his hair has grown more, he's just this tall silly nerd. I'm not one for cliche cheesiness... But I really do love him. The times hes had girlfriends, it's been pretty painful. There's been more than a few nights when I'm on the driveway alone, or I'd have to eat lunch with Joe and Dylan alone because he'd be out with his girlfriend at that time. I'd be in pain, but I would never let it get to me. If he's had other girlfriends, it's clear he doesn't like me like that. And that's fine, I'm okay with just being his friend. As long as he's in my life at all I'm okay.
But he's leaving.
Dan's POV
My last night here in New Jersey is tonight. The flight for Boston leaves tomorrow morning, early as hell too. I'd have to go to bed soon if I really want to catch it. My room looks so empty... All my memories of growing up are in this exact house. I went to go see Ms (y/l/n) earlier today and say goodbye before she went to work, even said bye to Jacob. Y/n wasn't there, (y/m/n) said she was at band practice. I told her not to worry, I'll probably see y/n tonight since I usually sit with her in her driveway at night. Luckily, it's not cold anymore. Summer weather keeping me cool enough to not wear shorts, though. I walk out and see y/n sitting where she usually sits. Except now with a cat in he shirt to keep the cat warm in the cool weather. She looks up at me and waves, and I can't help but smile a little and wave back before starting to walk over.
If I had a choice, I'd take her with me. She's my best friend, I don't want to leave her alone. Joe and Dylan are leaving as well, she'll be alone at school and she'd have no one to sit with at night in her driveway. 6 years spent with her, and I wouldn't want to change it for the world. She's a really good friend.
"Hey.." she says, careful not to wake the cat in her lap. "Hey, I'm leaving tomorrow morning.. I wanted to come say bye to the cat." I say jokingly. She rolls her eyes and nudges my leg as I sit beside her. "Shut up, Dan. I can't believe it, you're going to college." I can't help but agree. I shake out my hair a little bit. "Yup. I really want to be a musician, but my dad said hed pay for my college if I go into advertising. I really don't want to, but I cant pay for myself on my own." She pets the cat again and shrugs. "Soon enough, you will be a musician. You'll have thousands of fans, be on stage rocking out like you've always wanted. You'll have people recognize you in the street wanting a picture and an autograph. You'll be so successful, as long as you put your passion in it." I can't help but smile at her. That is my dream, always has been. "It's gonna be weird without you guys. Senior year... I have one more year before I leave too," she looks at the sky again. "It's kinda scary. I won't be a kid anymore. Growing up in general is scary." I grab her shoulder and look in her eyes. "Hey don't talk like that. You're gonna be a great voice actress like you've always wanted to be. You might even become a singer too. You have to put passion in it too. You'll be in all your favorite anime shows, and video games. You can do it too. Don't forget that." She looks down and nods. "I will. Hey promise me something though." I look at her and encourage her to go on. "Don't forget about me. I know you're gonna grow up and find all the success in the world, just don't forget about this time in your life. Our friendship, who you are. Don't forget, please." I give her a sad smile and lean in to hug her. "I could never forget about you. You're one of my best friends. Don't worry. I'll keep in touch as much as possible, I promise." She smiles and hugs back. I start to walk back to the house when I hear her call my name again, "Dan!......." I turn back to her and she looks down before looking back up to me. "Be safe out there." She stares at me and I nod. "You too, y/n.."
To be continued?~

Good, we wouldn't want it getting too big and then you tip over and injure yourself. Your brother would never let you live it down, or else he'd attempt to put a slight puncture in it and I'd hate to be the cause of that. No, the only ones who want to be out in the snow are the kids, and even sometimes I don't mind when playing with the kids -- but to work? No thank you. So bless you for getting out there and doing some kind of work in between because I definitely don't think I could do it without some kind of complaining of something freezing. It is nice to have heat, so I'm not going to complain about that, and getting to spend time together is always nice. Oh plenty of time, I'll figure something out when the time is right for that but I'm not exactly worried either. The good food is always a given that it's going to be enjoyed, kind of like it goes without saying. I'm definitely going to opt for a more simple dress but still something nice to impress. Or hopefully, at least! I already know what I'm making for breakfast tomorrow and I do have to make a few sweet treats for Alec in case he decides to brave the cold. He's a growing boy, he can't help that he's hungry and my food is delicious. Just means you don't get any late night cinnamon rolls to snack on unfortunately. Though the dirty dishes you might want to go track down before you have a field of who knows what growing under his bed or wherever he stores them! Mm you know I could go for one more beer tonight, and I'm thinking a movie. I'll even let you choose if I can steal your body heat and get extra cozy warm. You know this week was nice, I'm not saying I'm ready for domesticated life as they call it but it's good to see how well the kids got along in the same space for more than a day or two. Though Colton may breathe a sigh of relief not having to entertain Rosalyn when he walks into the room, she's obsessed with him I swear.

No, no, tiny little inflation, hardly even noticeable unless you're looking really hard, and I kind of doubt that you'll see it. That's exactly it, and I hate when we think we've got a break in the weather, so we'll start on a projects just to have to turn around and stop, since no one wants to be out working in the active snow. Or ice. This cold snap has been pretty brutal, though, so I can't blame you for wanting a little bit of warmth right now. You have time to figure that out, it's just now February. And you know how it is around here, there's always places looking to hire for the summer time if you don't want to stay on with the school. Plus, good food -- we know how much we both love good food at these events, right? I'm looking forward to it, too, I'll have to dust off something nice but not fancy to wear, I think I can pull that off. Oh good, that's not too bad, we can still be lazy for one more day and get one more good night's sleep in before we head over to see that he's got it in working order and isn't actually just saying that. What, like the rest of the food that mysteriously disappears in this house, not to mention the dirty dishes I will never get back? No, and if it's not the heat, it's something else, so I get you. That means we actually have to make amazing coats, though, or else they're just going to turn around and get them from somewhere else, so… work on that. Video games, I popped in to check, he's playing with his friends. I'm on board with the relaxing, let me grab us a couple of beers and I'll meet you in the living room.

Solis Part 9
Jóhan brought me back to what I assumed was his town. Old buildings nearby a small lake, mixing old and new architecture. Wood, metal, and some old ships making up this town.
"So Tiny-Half." He starts, "You want the ruins yes? You will need guidance!"
We walked into this tiny town, everyone here was human except me and Jóhan. All watching me carefully as the snow leopard next me exaggerated his every move.
"Someone knows the land, who is fearless and strong!"
I throw my paws up in front of him, getting him to stop. "Alright, I get it. I'll let you guide me, one condition though."
His ears tilt and his tail sways in the wind, as he looks down to me with his chest puffed. Amused to hear a demand out of me.
"Alright Tiny-Half, let me hear it!" Says, paws now on his hips clenched into a fist.
"Its me and you alone, no one else should go with us." I point at him, making it clear I didn't trust the humans around here.
He thinks about this for a moment, putting a finger in the air wagging it back and forth. Biting his lip as he thought. "Yes yes.. I do see your point. We will go together then. Me and you, me with the small one!"
"Good" I started, "You at least speak english unlike the others."
He let's out an amused huff, patting my shoulder and leading me to a small hut. "My father spoke english as well, however rarely. But however he made it a point to teach me as well."
"Where was your father from?" I ask him curiously, as he leads me into the small hut. A simple carpeted floor, with a fireplace I was greeted by. A bed and a desk was really all he had.
"I dont remember really," He started. "But my modir told me he wasnt from Iceland, that he crashed her from.. hmm what was it?"
I cock my head curiously. "Go on." I urge him, crossing my arms.
"I believe it was from a place called Mars.. I do not know much of it."
I let out a chuckle, closing my eyes and thinking. "Well, I can say that is very much not from Iceland."
Letting out a deep huff, he puffs out his chest. "Yes, now Tiny-Half! Tell me what you think of my home!" He outstretched his arms, smiling. "You will stay here for the night, as the trek to the ice fields is long!"
I nod in understandment, I had no reason to fully trust the snow leopard. But then again, he was the one with a village full of very functional guns, and was offering help. I guess it could go either way. Though I had to at least tell BB, not that he was really worried. Probably.
"Excuse me though for a moment Jóhan, I need to step outside."
"Of course of course, but do not wander! I do not wish harm to you."
I nod understanding him, stepping out from his warm hut to the icy wind. Humans of all ages stared at me in awe and confusion. I was the only anthro they had seen besides Jóhan, and I certainly did not look like him.
Eyeing them all carefully, I raise my wrist up to my muzzle. Trying to contact BB.
"I wont be back for at least a day or two, made contact with the locals." I tell him, hoping he was listening in.
"Fantastic, they aren't threatening to eat you are they?" His monotone voice provided some relief.
"No, at least not yet. I'll keep you updated though." I sigh for a moment, looking around once more. It was getting late, as I could see the sun starting to set. 'Bit early for that', I thought to myself.
"Though I came into contact with another anthro, the only one here. He seems well enough, but I'll let you know of trouble."
Amused, BB sends his reply. "If you end up in a winter stew, don't say I didn't warn you."
I shake it off, getting a bit annoyed with the AI. "They'll shoot me before eating me, now I'll get to you tomorrow."
Then I shut off my comms and went back inside. The strong smell of fish cooking on the mantle hit me, along with the sound of some other stuff being fried.
"Ah! Tiny-Half you return! I am making dinner, do sit down!"
I take Jóhan's advice and sit down at the foot of the bed, almost sinking into the thick carpet.
"I hope you like paddock, it is all I have to share with you." He tells me, flipping it as oil seared its side. Though the smell of the oil was unfamiliar to me, as it was not normal cooking oil.
"I suppose I'll be fine with it."
He smiles, grabbing an old plate and handing one to me. "Get yourself some then, it is good to eat." I nod, having hardly any time to relax. Getting up I look to the fish. Two white filets in the pan, with a smaller pan next to it. With what looked like tiny potatoes.
Good enough, I took a filet and some potatoes. Sitting back down as Jóhan took the rest and sat himself by the fire.
"So Tiny-Half" He says in between shoveling fish into his mouth. "Enjoy my beautiful country?" I agreed with him, this land certainly was.
"It is.. quite the sight, nothing like my home."
His curiosity peaked, as I saw it rush across his face. "Your home, what is it like?"
"Venus? Oh hm.. It has a major city, Ishtar on its northern continent, also called Ishtar." He listened intently. "Its very tropical and volcanic, with plenty of tropical and desert islands. Toward the center you have Aphrodite, the second continent. Too hot for really any city, it's almost one giant desert there."
His mouth was agape, listening to the wonders of Venus. It was certainly nothing like here.
"I see, I have never left Iceland. This has been my home forever, you are a lucky man seeing so much!"
I let out a quick breath, amused. Not sure if I'd call myself lucky. "I suppose, I have seen many things."
Jóhan quickly finished his plate, putting it near the mantle but not on it. "Well Tiny-Half! I will set up your sleep tonight, so you will be comfortable."
"Thank you but that's not quite necessary" I started, but was quickly interrupted.
"No no, I will! You will be comfortable!" I didn't see a point in arguing as Jóhan had already begun, reaching under his bed and pulling out a roll of bedding. Quickly he untied it, as it made a whooshing sound while un-curling.
"You will sleep here!" He says proudly, standing up and looking down at me. His head almost hitting the roof.
"Well thank you, I suppose I should sleep soon then shouldnt? Busy day tomorrow."
"Yes, yes you should! We will be up with the birds!" He then started to get ready himself, enthusiastically might I add. Packing himself into his bed, the pillow being crushed under his massive weight.
Rubbing my eye, I set my plate on top of his. Laying down on the 'bed' he laid out for me. It wasnt terrible, but it wasnt my bed for sure. Sleep didn't come quickly, though it was mostly from an on edge feeling I got. Though Jóhan himself was quick to fall asleep it felt like hours for me. In the end I did find it, even though it was light.
