i had a professor look at the weather tomorrow, realize its too cold to walk safely (below 0F degrees at the time of day i'd be out to get to class), remember that i reached out about accommodations, and email me to ask if we need to set up a video call to go over what she covered in class instead. this same teacher also included her pronouns in her syllabus.

i think this semester is gonna be ok

#i'm taking an uber to class so i don't need the video call. but like. holy shit #there are So many teachers that wouldn't give a fuck lol #and she's the first teacher i've had from my university's college of engineering actually give out pronouns #(i've had other teachers share pronouns but they were from whatever college(s) cover biology and english and history)#(and the biology TA gave 'part of the family' vibes. and i know the history prof is queer since she runs a bunch of the queer programs)#(the english prof gave more 'well meaning ally' vibes and also i think it was a department requirement. but it was still nice to see)#but the engineering departments don't require it and generally prefer to pretend queer people don't exist #(usually not in a rude way. more of a 'most of us are ESL and also that has nothing to do with force diagrams so we dont care' vibe)#(some of them its definitely a rude way tho. which sucks)
