MY EXPERIENCE IN THE ROLEPLAYING COMMUNITY

📫 my favorite type of ships:

I love slow burn type of ships, romances that are unplanned, and attractions or love that develops over time. And I adore relationships that are platonic but are just as strong as ones that become romantic. And I think most of all I love relationships, whether romantic, friendships, family, etc, I really love when there is obvious growth in characters because of those relationships, whether it is positive or negative progression. It's one of the joys of roleplaying, seeing your character affect someone in a important way, and vice versa.

🖼 my favorite types of characters:

I tend to lean toward characters that have a darker element to their storytelling, origins, or personality - that's probably something that comes out in my own characters, hah. But overall I think I just like characters that are a little different, or are written in a very memorable way. This can be tricky because what my draw me to a character may be tangled in their narrative, rather than the dialogue they present sometimes. So roleplaying may become a little mystery for my characters to poke into, because I do love myself a little mystery too for my characters :).

I'm sure we'll all well aware of the current event surrounding a certain Unovan(?) entrepreneur who stylizes himself as a genius. It is therefore unnecessary to show me news about his latest "innovative endeavors" for the express purpose of "watching [me], an inventor, age about ten years every time."

So to get it out of the way for the thirteenth and hopefully final time:

Yes, I'm aware.

No, I don't know how he got a stainless steel tank, a rocket cobbled together from spare parts, a self-driving car that occasionally ignites into a ball of flames while trapping its driver in thanks to multiple design flaws, or the brain chip past an ethics committee.

Yes, I am "salty" that I made one mistake with one of my inventions, and now I'm constantly scrutinized by the Pokémon Cutting-Edge Technology Research Institute's ethics committee.

No, I do not want the brain chip.

Yes, I want to study the brain chip.

The fifth point is out of morbid curiosity as to how it got past an ethics committee, not respect.

Hopefully, this clears things up.

I found this in the drafts, and I thought it would be hilarious to bring this out and tack on an update post while I'm at it.

But the biggest thing is, I'm . . . actually leaving Tumblr. Now, the main reason for that is my main got super borked up. I've been told by my followers over there it's not shadowbanning, but I'm pretty sure it's random-ass shadowbanning. I cannot receive asks, I can't tag people, I don't have DMs, and I don't show up in notes. As for why, I can't fathom. For the most part, I've kept my nose pretty clean on that account, other than that one time somebody in the writeblr community kinda lost it and tried to use a bunch of random people as a scapegoat for drama reasons. Yeah, idk.

Anyway, the point is, I've submitted a ticket a few months ago and then . . . never heard back. And honestly, for personal reasons, I'm not really inclined on remaking.

Personal reasons being I'm gunning for writing an actual book, as you might know from my last-ish post? Like, non-Pokémon book. Though I'll admit some bits might be familiar to those of you who've hung around the blog for a while. Here's a hint: take powerverse, gender swap it, role swap it, and then stick it into FFXIV and add more steampunk. It's been cooking for the past year you haven't seen me, and I'm aiming to start pitching it to agents by the end of the year. If you'd like to follow along, if you're also a writer who would like to make more writing friends, or if you just like my writing for some reason and want to keep up with me, you can find me at jaxwolffwrites on both Bluesky and Twitter. Bsky moreso, but you'll get progress on this project on either of those other platforms.

Now, I will say this: just to be fair, I'm doing three things:

Closing the askbox. Admittedly, if you've been sending me asks for the past three months, I haven't seen them anyway. Sooooo I probably should've done that ages ago. Sorry about that.

Answering any ask I've saved to the drafts. Any ask. Please note that I don't know if the borking I've described above extends to this blog as well, so Bill won't be replying to replies or reblogs/tags. Apologies for that in advance. There are 49 posts in the drafts, and these will come out fairly slowly as I continue to keep up with my writing schedule on the other project.

Leaving this blog up as an archive. Assuming Tumblr doesn't nuke the main and the backup account that was created in an effort to avoid total nuking, and assuming Tumblr doesn't nuke this blog itself, I really want to leave this up so you can enjoy this pretty much forever onward. You all are the reason why this blog has gone on for so long, and I want to preserve this blog as a thank you for following me for so long.

So yes, after I clear the drafts, you'll likely see one last farewell from Bill and Lanette, and then that will be that. To everyone who's followed, thank you so much for following and supporting this blog over the years. As many ups and downs as running this had, I still look back on every moment as one fun adventure.

Current obsession: I don't know that it meets obsession criteria, but I'm slowly getting pulled back into EXU: Calamity - it's time for a rewatch. The Hamilton rewatch bug is also real.

Looking forward to: I have a couple of days off at the end of the week that are much needed and I'm very much looking forward to. I've also been interacting with some new folks also the last few weeks/months and I'm looking forward to seeing where that goes for my guy here and how things play out as things move forward.

Dick: I don't, but I know Tim does. I've seen him sneak out of Tim's bedroom window before.

Tim: Oh, threw me under the bus when it's convenient, I see!

Dick: I'm worried about the men you date. You should find yourself someone nice like Kon.

Tim: Been there done that.

Dick: WHAT-

Tim: Anyway, Danny is harmless . He's just mad cause I accidentally married him, and now we're bonded for life and he might or might not be pregnant.

Bruce: *clutching chest* Is this a heart attack!?

Jason: What do you mean he might be pregnant???

Tim: We don't know since there only three other Halfas in the world, and normally, the ghosts version of getting pregnant is just their ectoplasm doing a sort of asexual reproduction after devouring enough living energy. Danny and I holding hands might have just been too much living energy, or his own body produced it, but FrostBite says it's too early to tell and-

Steph: Tim, buddy, I need you to get back on topic. Why is your ex outside-

Tim: He's not my ex. We're still together. He's just mad. He'll come inside once he's done crying about the eggs he wasted.

Damian: *coming down the Batcave Stairs* Why is there a man outside sobbing into the grass about poor kids in Africa?

Tim: See?

it is munday! send ‘♡’ for a pointless fact about the mun.

♡ - I prefer to watch people play most video games more than I'll play them myself. Mostly because a) video games are expensive, b) I am typically wanting to do something like art while someone plays and 3) I like listening to let's players talk about a game and observe their reactions during play. I think the only real exception I have to wanting to play something myself is if its an mmo, rpg, or it's a game with a very customized story that is impacted by your choices in it.

♡ - I like to listen to music most of the time when I write or draw. I have some playlists setup for a particular vibe or character, but there is typically a big difference between writing and drawing: I usually go with instrumentals or otherwise lyric-less music, or no music at all when I'm writing, because lyrics are very distracting for my writing process.

♡ - I like to also watch a couple of Youtuber's talk about disturbing case files or supernatural events, because of course I do. I watch them with my daughter occasionally because her interest also runs a little morbid at times. I also remember my own mother being hooked on shows like Unsolved Mysteries and Cold Case Files, so perhaps this morbidity is running in the blood a little. For some reason I prefer to watch Youtubers talk about these things than I do watching a documentary or dramatization.
