Ash had brought her back to the safe house, she was shaking and he had witnessed the bullshit her old boss had pulled on her. When he heard her freaking out he grabbed her face and kissed her hard, wanting to refocus her on him. “Breathe, deep,in and out.” He instructed softly. “You’re okay now, he won’t hurt you again okay? You won’t have to get close to him again.” Ash wasn’t a monster, he hated seeing women hurt. Maybe that’s because he didn’t protect his wife when she left, or his daughter he’d never let harm come to the women in his life even if it was his one fatal flaw.

Honestly, he wasn’t sure why he didn’t expect Alice to be on the flight with him. They’d both been invited to their friend’s wedding, a wedding that was too far to drive to – and they’d both have to arrive at the same time. Yet, he’d never thought far enough ahead to realize there was a chance they’d end up travelling together. If he had, he definitely wouldn’t have put his bets on them ending up with seats right beside each other. Things were civil between them, so he wasn’t expecting any screaming matches – but things were still awkward between them. And having to deal with that awkwardness for the several hours they were in the air would become tricky.

They’d sat in silence for around an hour when the pain hit turbulence, and suddenly he felt a hand grasp his. Glancing up in surprise at Alice, the nervous look on her face gave him a hint that she probably hadn’t grabbed his hand consciously, but rather subconsciously to try and get some reassurance. Or maybe she simply needed someone to ground her in reality. Shifting slightly to put his free arm around her, he held himself back from leaning over and pressing a kiss to her forehead.

“You’re okay, it’ll be over soon.” He spoke softly, partly to try and not disturb anyone else and partly because soft spoken words were bound to be more reassuring than loud ones. “Just think about seeing Emily at her wedding. All the flowers. The food you didn’t have to make. The cakes you didn’t have to bake. So you can get all the fun of taste testing without having to put the work in. Think about the dancing and the happiness radiating off the happy couple. Think about... Well all the happy things.”

Repeating the same kind of hopefully calming words until the turbulence was over, Alice let go of his hand, straightened her posture and kept looking ahead of her without glancing his way. Taking the hint, he relaxed back into his seat taking her lead – and pretending the entire thing hadn’t just happened.

General Appearance:   She’s a thin girl who carries herself with a rather nonchalnt air. She’s not a fashion icon, but definitely dresses better than both her fathers. Her hair is dark blond but she tries to keep it as golden as possible.

Personality:  She’s introverted but really sassy. Even when her intentions are always the best, her tongue can get the best of her by putting things the wrong way. You could say she’s awkward and no matter how she tries, it just doesn’t change.

Special Talents:   She’s really good at writing, taking after Emmanuel.

Who they like better:   It’s a tie. Both her fathers are smartasses and very lovely. She usually clings to on

Ash had been watching Jack play in the front yard in the snow building a snowman with another little boy in the neighborhood. He was standing with Kaitlyn in his arms as they watched their boy. “Just think next year we’ll have another joining those ranks out in the snow.” He said warmly as his fingers covered her rounding stomach. He couldn’t be happier this year, he had his fiance and the baby on the way, his little boy was as happy as could be. Looking up he saw mistletoe above them and rolled his eyes. “You know you don’t need some plant to kiss me.” He teased her low knowing all too well she was the one that put it there he kissed her head for a moment before he dipped his head lower to kiss her lips sweetly. “I love you, my beautiful little pixie.”

Micah & Asher

Asher worries about him. A lot. Every day he asks how he’s feeling, if he’s having a hard time, if he needs something in particular. While he can be overwhelming at times, his intentions are the best. Micah brings out his protective side more than anybody else in the world.

Ever since they saw Superman together, every monday is movie monday. Asher makes pop corn or buys treats and he lays down on the couch with Micah to show him some of his favorite movies, mostly super hero movies.

Asher is grabby, in the way that he touches him a lot. It’s unconscious, his way of giving comfort. He always finds himself ashamed because he keeps forgetting time after time that Micah doesn’t like to be touched. He always apologizes for it.

Sometimes, late at night, Asher checks on him. To make sure he’s safe, to make sure he’s sleeping and comfortable. To put another blanket on him when the night’s too cold.
