Okay but. A Bradley Bradshaw who truly doesn’t know until TGM that Maverick is a little unhinged. He “tried to be the father he lost”, tried to set a good example, didn’t exactly tell an impressionable kid about all the ways he earned his reputation. So for years, Rooster avoided any mention of Maverick and probably dismissed rumors about him pissing off Admirals as so much Navy scuttlebutt - after all, he never got kicked out, he made it to O6, and he’s at least known for being good at what he does. So he figures the stories he heard growing up, and the new ones he’s hearing, are exaggerated.

…until they’re shot down behind enemy lines and Maverick’s happily strolling onto a bombed-out enemy flight line to steal a whole aircraft in an unknown state of repair by taking off from a very short taxiway and is just expecting him to go along with it, like it’s the obvious thing to do.

Smash cut to Bradley running down a LONG list of batshit stories he’s heard about Maverick, trying to confirm what’s actually real, and having to mentally readjust his whole worldview (including realizing that Goose was equally batshit and egging him on from the backseat half the time.)

“This one has to be made up, right, you’d never take an admiral’s daughter on an unauthorized F/A-18 flight — wait what do you MEAN that was Penny from the bar??”

Hello everyone ! Here we have page 19 of my resident evil comic ! This page was rather tiring to work on. This was the page that I worked on before I dissapeared from tumbrl for a few months. I had almost finshed this but then I didn't manage to finsh it in time for sunday. So I burned out in a way. But then I thought I recovered enough to finsh that one panel. But here comes a big problem, photoshop for some reason said my file broke so I had to redo this whole page. Really rough to start from scrath. So I changed how I did it and went for a different feel than before.

Here we see Sergei mutating into a horrible monster. Really disgusting looking, Wesker in the original Umbrella Chronicles had no problems fighting this monster. This time around he isn't alone, his own creation is by his side. And I feel this mutation is really weird, His hands are bond in a odd way...

03/20/2025 Progress Update:

TLDR: Went over draft one more time and got another 600-ish words down. It's editing time.

Just fucking polished the draft with some spit today, idk honestly where the 600 words went. Probably dialogue? I moved around/tweaked a lot of it. It's the most important thing to me, when I draft, to get the dialogue nearly completely solidified before editing. It's gotta sound like the characters in my head first and foremost. And I like when the prose flows around the dialogue, not the other way around.

I'm so fucking tired so apologies if this is wildly incoherent ramblings but another important thing to me when I write is flooowwwwww. When your eyes naturally move from sentence to sentence, like one big stream of thought. That way, it's more of an impact when the flow is interrupted. Puts more weight on certain phrases/words. Like a poem, I guess? A 75K word poem lmao

This is dumb and wildly off-topic (brain doing cartwheels rn) but I don't think I ever said how fucking funny I found it to give Shuichi a resume in chapter 4 lolll. It's like not the important information in that chapter at all, but just imagining Shuichi goddamn Saihara, Ultimate Detective, having a fucking resume was hilarious to me. In early drafts, I had three paragraphs talking about what he included on his resume because I liked it so much, then realized it was probably boring lol and scrapped it.

Y'know what I'm thinking now, though, is Kokichi resume would be even funnier. Not like thwwich Kokichi ('cause it'd probably actually be crazy desirable for an employer lol) but canon Kokichi. I'm gonna put that together eventually for no one's amusement but my own.

Anyway. Fucking Lord I'm tired.

(Void journal, and it's complainy so I'm sorry in advance) I haven't been sleeping well at all these past couple of weeks. Don't know why. It's not even nightmares this time (which I mean, that's nice, I usually have pretty bad nightmares so I'm grateful) but I'm just not sure what else is causing it. Maybe anxiety? That's been pretty bad lately, too. But then I gotta find the source of the anxiety and I'm even less certain of where that's coming from (work? school? family? moving? all of it?? idkkk). Just a general sense of dread all the time. Yay?

I'm wondering if it's just the time of year, though. My mental health tends to follow a predictable pattern, which I honestly should track one of these days so I can be like "Yeah, depression is scheduled for next week, gotta prep for that". But then I'm sure all I'll learn is it follows my menstrual cycle lmao because of course that's what it'll be. Kiwi gets crabby.

I'm gonna shut up and go to bed now. And then edit tomorrow. Hopefully won't take too long. Just gotta put that 115 wpm typing speed to work and it'll be great (subtlest brag ever, look at how humble she is)
