Listen you're never gonna get a nuanced and profound story about mental illness from a Marvel movie but having the central plot of Thunderbolts hinge on turning away from self-isolation and relying on people who care about you to help you pull through and stop you giving in to your darkest impulses is just. Leaps and bounds from what they've done with and to their traumatized characters before, really.
