Hello! I was looking for some standing poses yesterday, using all three sites, and I ended up just having to kind of blindly scroll through the âGeneral posesâ DA folder and clicking on the âmore like this!â deviations in the side bar. I ended up snagging a pose or two from you and a cluster from JoonPubStock, I think her name is.
I was specifically looking for poses I could use for costume design/ideation, where I could draw a fairly neutral front-ish pose that still had a little personality in like, how the hips were canted, arms folded, head tilt, etc, that I could draw and then come up with clothes ideas on like, layered tracing paper or something. Character design lineup/paper doll kinda thing. I think I ended up using one of your OG Sailor Moon poses as a jumping off point, since they are more static, though they had a little too much anime sass for me to use for my character. :(
Next time youâre doing file maintenance stuff, could I request adding âstandingâ to the list of pose types/subfolders/tags? And, if itâs not too much trouble for the next round of website iterations, being able to filter using multiple tags at once? Like, being able to specify that I want to look at single, female, slim, standing images instead of having to look through each category individually.
Thank you so much for all the work you and your team do, as well as the network of pose artists you collaborate with! And thank you for offering so much of it for free, and for the other tools youâve developed and shared. As an unemployed, disabled, non-university-student artist, these resources are really, really valuable. I appreciate you!!
I hear you but there's a few challenges with this because *most* poses are standing. It's the same reason I don't tag myself as a model because it's mostly me. But maybe I can still help by directing you to something like my Character Reference Sheet Pack or maybe even some of the standing poses in the free Anniversary Pack. There's also the old 3D model packs which might be *too stiff* for this but could be a jumping off point. The farther back you scroll on in the DA archive the more static the poses will get because I didn't have a camera good enough to catch much movement or action. Here's a few from Shoots 1-25 that might be helpful for the type of thing you're looking to do. I am SO helpful the stock is useful! đ„° Hope this helps and Happy Drawing!

i dont really wanna specify what he is before he gets his f1 seat (not a reserve driver per se but maybe. some type of a junior. development driver idk nawt important to me) but thats not even the point here cause no matter what he is prior to being teammates he rarely ever approached nando even when he had the chance... bro was scared he would cum and pass out on the spot if they as much as shook hands lol
anyway i think theyd first meet sometime in 2014... alonso sucked dry ferrari era... hungaroring would make most sense, marcis dad takes him bts to meet people and the little guy has his scrapbook full of newspaper clippings and printed photos and stuff to get autographs (no one needs to know that the fa14 section is multiply pages longer than some others) and i should draw the photo theyd take together fr... haunting
anyway! first day on the job marc is shaking shivering whimpering like youre not only gonna be doing your first formula one grand prix but youre doing it next to one of your childhood idols youre JOKING. hes in the garage next to me isnt he
longest most overwhelming weekend of his fucking life! i think he would get announced last minute (i also think he would be the last one to get the news lmao) so the moment hes anywhere near track he gets swarmed by people he gets absolutely jumped. sits furthest from fernando during briefings subconsciously (would be so numb to everything he doesnt even register that hes around the guy he likes. worships even) with berta glued to his hip (or hes glued to berta. whos to say they dont really know each other at that point of time). hes fidgety and nervous and itchy and red from ear to ear and kind of just sour vibes overall coming in waves off of him (let the man livvveeee he just got here. he can be nervy) which could be the reason when the first time they speak and go over stuff nando makes a face at him (â> day ruined hes contemplating killing himself. manages a decent race instead) (lance finished p14 in spain i think marc could do that too)
after that the two of them would do some small talk here and there and marci is like a shadow following nando around (he doesnt fucking know what to do or how to act. its pathetic) but that initial "first impression" is like so engraved into his brain hes being weird about everything. like nando chivalrously brings him some espresso at hospitality and asks general questions about his past achievements etc etc and marci is there clutching the small cup in both hands minutely trembling because their fingers touched and also hes too afraid to let nando know he doesnt like coffee so hes taking the smallest sips possible between mumbling out details about his eurocup series endeavours that he knows nando probably doesnt give a shit about
linking these fuckers to the hungaroring like why am i about to bring it up for the like billionth time. anyway its a month into his debut and as one would be hes extra twitchy about his home race (and his father would be there. visiting him in the garage) and i want nando to come up to him as marci is leaving his drivers room and nando puts a big hand on his shoulder and he looks marci in the eyes and squeezes his neck and says something about not overthinking it or whatever and like stop with the jittering because its ANNOYING đ©· and then he laughs and pats marci on the cheeks and leaves and marci is like woagh. im so horny and distraught right now i might crash my fucking car and then my dad will kill me but woah. the interaction would help him loosen up a bit tho so theres that. peace and love
im lowkey too scared to get too into scenarios just yet lol so theyre just hanging out in my head... sometimes sexual style. on that front i think marci would need outside assistance (pĂĄlinka)... like getting a little frisky during some type of celebratory after party or something

6 month solstice/full moon check-in livejournalstyle

So i've been advised to recap the past 6 months. Especially since this current Capricorn full moon is exacting at 1 degree Capricorn which happens to be the same degree as My Ascendant. (Pinkmoondoll number 1 :@!!!!!)
The Cancer full moon happened at around 5 degrees on december 26th 2023. That is my ex's birthday. On winter solstice 2023, exactly 6 months ago, i cut her out of my life. We were already broken up for a long time before that but i continued to let her stay in my life for a few reason, namely guilt & fear. Guilt because of the emotional turmoil she projected onto me & fear because, well, we are married and i didn't know what would happen to my immigration status if i cut her off. I still don't! This has not changed yet.
Pretty much everything else about me & my life has changed though. internally at least. Having her out of my life has allowed me so much freedom to get back to who i am & live with integrity. The only people left in my life now are ones who are respectful, kind, have their own shit going on, appreciate that i am my own person too, allow me to breathe, don't expect anything specific from me, don't toy with my mind & emotions. They are just glad to let me be who i am. No one tries to control me anymore. i feel so wonderful because no one can control me.
So the past 6 months has been a series of stages of getting back to Me. unraveling all the lies i was fed for years, healing from the pain of being manipulated, feeling that so much of my energy was wasted. Truly truly wasted. i'm not one of those people who can live without regrets lol. i wish i broke free so much sooner, the stress destroyed my health for years. But ultimately, this is how it went down, so i strive towards acceptance.
For the first few months of this year i was really on a huge substance abuse kick! im not gonna specify what, but iykyk. Like i really just could not bear the weight of what i was feeling. Every day i was finding out more and more info about lies i'd been told, stuff happening behind my back. All i could rly do was take pills & tunnel vision into ableton or drawing or whatever. it helped repress my emotions & i got a lot done during this time but it was unhealthy & the more it progressed i saw how unsustainable it was.
around spring equinox shit HIT THE FAN e_e So this would be the quarter year mark. Well it was march 15 when denji ate the ziploc bag and had to get emergency obstruction removal surgery. That immediately halted all projects i was working on. I was still taking a lot of pills to cope with the stress of that situation & at that point i needed them just to function at a base level. Then i think april 4th or 5th was when i found out Sammy died, which...i mean yeah i've spoken a lot on how horrific that was & still remains to be.
I mean , like, that shit, rearranged my whole brain, that shit reset me. this also marked the time period where like... my psychic senses really began evolving. idt it was necessarily linked to sammy's death, it just weirdly shifted around that time. i think the lunar eclipse in late march caused some type of quantum leap idk man idek. Then the solar eclipse in april sealed the deal. Ever since then the craziest stuff that i cant even rly talk about has been happening to me & i immediately felt compelled to like, quit all drugs and just fucking ascend lol.
Sooo first i started w pill numero uno, the really diabolical one, middle of april i just said fuck it, i am done. at this point i had abused it so hard it wasnt even doing shit for me anymore, even when i took tolerance breaks, it was genuinely pointless to continue. i did wonder how the fuck i was ever gonna function without it and i was scared. The final few weeks of april were just a total write off, didnt do shit, totally depressed & grieving & miserable but weirdly hopeful too. Like i knew i just had to suffer and get it over with.
pill 2 was actually pretty easy to cut back on because ive quit it a bunch of times before & know what to expect, and since i was already suffering so bad from pill 1 after about a week i thought yeah i might as well stop the other one too lol. there was no noticable increase in suffering from stopping it. So by the 2nd week of May it had been around 3 weeks of feeling like pure ass but i was starting to feel WAYYYY better and my normal goofy self again.
That is the worst thing about adhd meds for me lol they robbed me of my whimsy and goofiness T_T Like i was so serious all the time T_T it was even kinda affecting my relationship w slimbo. Like i couldnt be affectionate i was just a robot. All i cared about was working and i was so impatient. As i came off the meds i started to remember how nice it is to just be slow, be in the moment, enjoy simple things with my love, not constantly bound to this gnawing neurosis pushing me to squeeze maximum productivity out of every single second.
like i said , i'm 1 degree cap rising sooo this neurosis is something that exists firmly within my personality, for sure. i mean, if u cant tell, I Be Doing Things lol. And i get very competitive with myself. the dark side of me is that i want to be the best at everything. A big part of my adult life has been learning how to relax. learning how to have fun, learning how to be a little pointless. Without the meds this is a struggle for me so with the meds it was genuinely impossible not to be completely controlled by the rabid impulse to work.
So getting off the meds was a big exercise in confronting my fear of Not being the best. my fear of chilling, my fear of being still & unoccupied. But i did it! And i feel so much better. Like holy shit, i feel SO much better.
By the mid-May i was picking up steam in just being able to live again. a lot of the brainfog & physical heaviness lifted. I was still not very productive at art or music, but i was getting really good at not letting that bug me. spending a lot of time working in the garden, got back into yoga, reading, just doing leisurely stuff that felt expansive to my inner world rather than trying to externalize anything. psychic experiences continued to amplify. became interested in tarot again as i no longer felt i was living in fear of my higher self.
after getting off the pills i began feeling really fixated on the notion of quitting weed. Previously this had been genuinely unthinkable to me. Like, me and weed, we were One, every person i'd ever been as an adult had smoked weed, it was weirdly part of my identity, for 15 years i genuinely believed i could not exist without weed, like i would just lose my fucking mind if i stopped. i did not believe in myself.
But as the psychic experiences progressed i felt strongly that i want to go deeper. Previously i had been afraid to go deeper. In that regard i think i was truly afraid of my own potential. I wasn't ready for it, and that's actually fine. A lot of people aren't.. But as May was coming to a close i knew that i was ready, and actually, it was crucial of me to put an end to this. I was enjoying finally having some sense of peace & joy after how crummy it felt quitting the pills , i didn't really want to disturb that state of being, but i also was having that feeling again that i just need to "get it over with".
So when it struck June 1st i was like yeah fuck it. Let this mark a new beginning. as soon as i realize something is no longer in my best interest its almost impossible for me to keep going with it! like i can't live with myself. I guess that's where my fixation on being "the best" can serve me sometimes. if that makes sense.. Like i willllll always end up putting my foot down and saying NO :T
So yeah. it's recent enough that i don't really feel the need to detail how the first 2 weeks of june were sooooo sucky and emotional and generally dysfunctional. couldn't even read or draw or do any minor tasks i was sooo out of my mind. Not much needs to be said about it. i just had to simply allow time to pass. a lot of days spent in bed crying & dissolving.
right around the 2 week mark we went to missouri & this is when i started noticing myself feeling way way better. the whole time i didn;t even think about weed or my symptoms at all. i was so present in each moment and it was so easy to just feel....alive. also had some intense psychic experiences, one of which i haven;t even talked about on here, and i probably wont because its too sacred. The overarching theme between all the experiences i've been having since late march is that they feel too sacred to tell anyone. The high priestess emphasizes secrecy in some matters..
Which brings us to now, june 21, 21 days w/o weed, 3 weeks. I know that sounds like nothing but this has been 15 YEARS coming. that's half my lifespan so far. and now i just feel fine. i got thru the blues of quitting, all the repressed emotions, im sure they'll still pop up from time to time too. but ultimately i am just so fucking relieved to be free of that shit and like, functioning, able to sleep, not riddled with anxiety and self hatred like i was when i started as a grieving baby teenager.
i guess i wanted to write this to remind myself what a monumental shift i have made in my life in the first half of 2024, and how insanely far i've come in the grand scheme of my life, in a relatively short timespan. because i keep getting this feeling of self doubt where i'm like wait... it's almost july and i've barely completed any tasks, i still havent finished my music, wtf am i doing :( But i dont think i was supposed to finish it until i shed all these habits that were causing major roadblocks in my path!
shed my ex, shed pills, shed weed. shed grief! shed self doubt. emptied my vessel & it has allowed room for so much new life to come through. new forces being channeled. my mediumship abilities now are in focus and taking off at an accelerated rate. for the first time in my life i'm not in survival mode. i feel this is my reward for living through it all when i wanted nothing more than to give up for so many years. i prayed for death, every day, i really did. now i am dead! the old me died. and i carry her memory with honor, i carry on the parts of her that wished to remain and be loved, but she is effectively dead.
for the first time in my life i am really proud of myself. i don't feel so competitive with myself anymore. i don't need to prove myself externally. i do not require any validation of my existence. i can sit with myself without feeling extreme self induced dread & despair. i feel worthy even though i am still (from the outside looking in) at the exact same place i was at 6 months ago.
i'm finally feeling ready to work a little harder again, but not because i'm desperate to gain anything from it. just because it's fun, and fundamentally, as stated above, that drive is a part of my personality, a part of me that i love & cherish. number 1 is the magician. the mage patchouli ~~~ the alchemist. create for the sake of creating.
if anyone read this far, thats wild xD but thats dope too.. I guess one thing i'd like for the future is just to inspire people that you can alchemize the tragedies of your life and all the suffering into something much greater than yourself. You can get through it and be happy with your meager little life one day, even if it takes 30 or 40 years, it's worth it to try & worth it to get here. You do not have to wallow in sadness and self doubt forever, even if u see no way out rn.
i'm happy just being me ^_^ i have so much fun when i'm in my mind. bladee voice ~~be in your mind, be in your mind, be in your mind~~. i love how simple everything feels right now. i love how people & entities can come to me because they trust me to receive their messages & understand them. My own projections do not get in the way anymore. I shed so much. I am free. Happy Strawberry Moon everyone.

hi! since you're a big gaster fan and know a lot about him, i was hoping you could explain something to me. a popular theory is the dadster idea, where he is the father to sans and papyrus. but i dont understand why him being related to them is such a common assumption. i cant recall anything in the game that implies they are related. i know there's a couple subtle hints that sans worked for him, but afaik theres nothing that shows papyrus and gaster knew each other at all. if they were closely related wouldnt they bring him up at some point, even in a small way (like papyrus telling you his dad made the core or smth like that)? plus gaster doesnt have a special reaction to their names in deltarune when he does for other characters, and its not hinted anywhere that he had a family. just seems like a pretty big detail for them to all ignore or never bring up. could there be something i am missing?
youâre rightâthereâs actually no evidence implying their relation (unless you wanna talk about grandpa semi but letâs not get into that lmao), so itâs nothing more than a popular headcanon. itâs really just based on the fact that sans and papyrus are two skeleton brothers that speak in special fonts, so unless all skeletons speak in weird fonts in the underground?âthe conclusion most people draw is that theyâre related in some way.
as for papyrus seemingly being unfamiliar with gasterâthis is a part where itâs completely up to interpretation. there are a lot of potential factors regarding this, and thereâs definitely no right answer (that we know of, anyway). iâll try to break down a few different things i think are worth bringing up.
1. the extent of memory retained between timelines/resets is INCREDIBLY ambiguously specified. (this is under the assumption that gaster was forgotten/erased after his âdeathâ, which i talked about here.) we donât know how much sans remembers gaster eitherâwe donât even know if he remembers him at all, which is a very real possibility. sans doesnât have a special power to remember things between resets and timelines, heâs only able to notice them due to 1. prior research on the topic, and 2. generally being a really perceptive guy (as we know from his judgements, his continual observation of the player throughout their journey, etc). he could know that somethingâs wrong or that thereâs parts of his past that he canât remember, but thereâs a real chance that even sans doesnât know who gaster is, only knowing vaguely that he existed. based on his âdonât forgetâ note and how you interpret it, retaining memory is clearly important to himâhence the reminder he wrote for himself.
the deja vu that characters show between resets is never really explained in full; itâs probably meant to be vague, and itâs something that every character seems to have. what it entails or what its extent is, we have no idea. maybe the memory that persists through it varies in some way, depending on circumstances? we have no clue. maybe sans has some vague memory of gaster, maybe he remembers way more; again, thereâs no way to tell. he never directly mentions gaster either, after all.
taking all this into account, itâs possible papyrus doesnât know anything at all. if heâs unaware of resets, maybe he doesnât remember anything. but, if he IS aware of them...
2. papyrus is a liar. heâs incredibly secretive, and honestly more mysterious than gaster imo. we have no way of knowing how much or how little he knows about gaster or anything else; if he does know everything, he certainly wouldnât give us any clues about it. thereâs a lot of analysis on the weirder parts of papyrus, but iâll bring up a few important bits of information.
the most important thing in my opinion is, of course, this:
which, uh...
... yeah! he has those too! what the fuck!
many people have also pointed out that papyrus seems to really hate hotland for some reason, which is where gaster presumably worked as the royal scientist. maybe there's some relation there? and before you enter the core, papyrus tells you that he wonât be able to call you anymore... which is kinda weird, because alphys calls you in the core. repeatedly. (and if you consider gasterâs weird association with phones, specifically with them not working... uhh??)
AND...!!!
we still donât know what this means. iâm afraid to know what this means.
what iâm trying to say is that there is a wealth of strange gaster/papyrus connections. i couldnât possibly go over all of them, but MAN. they are present.
3. gaster actually DOES react to sans and papyrusâs names in deltarune! hereâs a list of all the names that get a special reaction:
notably he doesnât react to any darkner names, but he does acknowledge sans and papyrus. so he definitely KNOWS them, at the very very least.
in conclusion, i forgot this post was supposed to be about dadster. oops. but yeahâthere are far too many connections between the three skeletons to dismiss their relation, and though we donât know how theyâre related, familial relationship is a popular theory.

Ned Talks About Fight Scenes
I write a lot of fight scenes, and I consider it something I'm good at. There are a lot of things to consider when writing a fight scene and they all intersect with each other. I'm going to talk about three things: Clarity, Emotion, and Flow.Â
Clarity is important, because you don't want your reader to stop and say, "Wait, there's another guy?" "Since when did they have an axe?" "I thought they were on the ground?" "When did they get inside?" Anything that pulls the reader out of the story disrupts your flow and is bad. You need things to clip along, so be sure that your choreography makes sense and that you're clear about what's going on. Â
The biggest problem I see in fight scenes is when a transition is missed so a character is over here, and then all of a sudden they're over there or facing a different way. I'm not saying that there needs to be a whole big thing made about the transition, because that will affect your flow and slow you down with excess description, making it feel bloated. But saying, "He turned around," takes up minimal space and will sometimes save you a lot of grief. Â
I think the easiest example to show of this is actually a make-out scene I read ages ago. (Make-out scenes and fight scenes have a lot in common.) It went something like this: "He came up behind her, wrapped his arms around her waist, and kissed her shoulder. She hopped up and wrapped her legs around his waist." ...  The picture I have in my head is that heâs still behind her, but her legs are folded backward like a ballerina. This would be easily preventable with a simple "She turned around and..." Â
Now, this example is a very close example. The characters are attentive to every little moment, so a jump into a different position is jarring. A fight scene example would be if you have a one-on-one duel, and it's emotional and calculating, and your character is very attuned to every movement that their opponent makes. It's a little different if you have a sweeping battle scene with a horde of hundreds of enemies, like if you're writing an Age of Calamity battle. Your main character isn't thinking in minute steps, but rather in sweeping moves, so your reader is fine not hearing that your character has turned around, but wouldn't be fine not knowing that your character is suddenly bleeding from dozens of fatal wounds or is half way through a battle with a big monster that actually matters. So be aware of the scope of your scene, and that will guide you in how detailed you need to be. (Also keep in mind that you can zoom in, like you fight a big Age of Calamity battle, but then things get more personal when you meet the boss and fight them.)
I know that just saying "don't so this" is not super helpful. First of all, sometimes something is so clear in your head that you don't even know that your reader isn't following you. The main solution to that is a beta reader. A second set of eyes can easily point out these moments. You can also draw stick figures (it's fun!). For each sentence, draw where they would be and make sure the change between them makes sense. Â
Sometimes, you might have something very complicated in mind. But if you cant describe it clearly, it's not worth it and it might be worth scaling back. Killing your darlings happens.
Sometimes, the fight will be a huge mess and our hero will be flailing around, not knowing what's going on or which way is up or when it's going to be over. But in that case, you can just say that. Be clear about it. And then tell us what your POV character does know. If they're overwhelmed, tell us what they feel. Adding in emotion can actually be clarifying in explaining to the reader why the character acts the way they do.
Which brings us to
Emotion. It's important for a lot of reasons. First of all, if you leave out the emotion completely and have it be straight action the whole time, then your hero looks as if it's no big thing. This battle is simple and they are a killing machine. Maybe that's what you want. But if there's no tension for your character, there won't be any tension in your reader. If you say that this scene is no sweat, I (the reader) will not be sweating. But if your character is struggling, if they're fearing, if they're exhausted or hurt, I'm going to worry for them and you automatically have tension.
Second of all, I tend to write more character driven things, and what's the point of the fight scene if it doesn't have some effect on the character or show something about them? What purpose does it serve in the story? Maybe it's just to be cool, and that's okay, but don't expect more from it if that's the case.
The other cool thing about including emotion is that if you have a paragraph in the middle of a fight scene where the character is thinking about how hard the fight is or worrying about protecting someone or excited to finally be using a sword again after a long hiatus, then your reader will assume that time is passing while they're thinking, and then when you pull out of that paragraph and back int the action, your character can be in a new place, fighting a new monster. Â It's one way to avoid that jarring lack of transition that we talked about earlier.
So returning regularly to your POV character in a fight scene is a good idea. I tend to do one pass where I just write the choreography (unless some big, climactic emotional moment is the whole point of the scene/story, in which case I'll write that first), then I'll do a second pass inserting some interiority.Â
Flow deals with how the scene reads. You want it to read fast (action packed!) because your character will be thinking fast and things will be moving fast and you want your reader's heart to be beating fast.
You can achieve a lot of this on a micro level with just word and punctuation choices. 1. Commas: a comma is a way to show a pause for breath, so in some cases, misusing commas and using a run-on sentences is your friend. Lists are also your friend, because you can have this happening and that happening and something else over there and they felt dizzy and tired and yet the list goes on. Â
2. Longer sentences tend to pul you forward through the sentence whereas short, choppy sentences have a lot of periods, which are hard pauses. Â
3. To Be Verbs slow you down. A "to be" verb is any conjugation of "to be": was, is, were, are, be, am. You might have heard this in high school English class and rolled your eyes, and I have strong feelings about how this is not a hard and fast rule that should be used in all situations. However, to be verbs DO slow you down, and that's not what you want here. So let's use a test sentence like, "He was running towards the moblin." The thing about this is that "run" isn't the verb. "Was" is the verb. What was he doing? He was existing. Which is more exciting: existing or running? Change this to "He ran towards the moblin," and already that reads faster. Â
4. Over-specificity will slow you down too. There are so many fight scenes out there where I think they're trying not to fall into the trap discussed earlier of being unclear, so they go hard in the other direction and over-specify. If you want to tell me at the very start that our hero has a sword in his left hand and a dagger in his right, go for it, but I don't want to hear about what anyone's left hand and right hand are doing during the actual fight. (Unless handedness is a theme or something in your story?) I don't need to know how many degrees they turned to block a blow. I don't need to know too many adjectives, because each of your adjectives should be hitting me in the face.
There's a lot more I could say about flow. I do a lot of work with numbers of syllables and length of syllables, which means that certain words won't fit in the sentence I'm working on. I do a lot with timing the big moments and arranging the white space around paragraphs so that the reader has a pause to go "oh shit!" when I want them to go "oh shit!" I do a lot of onomatopoeia (sound effects) as shorthand for movement. "ClashClashClash. Boom!" But I feel like getting into all that will be a bit too much and it's kind of more of a feeling than a science, so I'll stop here.

The shipcourse server red flags:
Allow minors and adults to mingle. As of the roles, there are 8 adults and 4 minors, and 2 who âprefer not to say.â This is a server debating whether stuff like if porn of fictional babies is âcool and okay to makeâ, why are you mixing adults and minors??
8 proshippers and 1 anti ⊠5 âneutrals.â Yikes! Its almost like a server debating the ethicality of getting off on drawings of perceived minors getting r8ped, as an example, isnât gonna be filled with the guys who are against that.
There are 2-3 vent channels??? Why are you having vent channels in a shipcourse server??? If someone happens to vent about their trauma that could absolutely be utilised in an argument. There seems to be 0 foresight on this? This is so stupid
1 admin and 1 owner, according to roles. So definitely not a mod team that can moderate debates and DEFINITELY not unbiased (the shipcourse-culture-is blog is a system who has 3 participating alters (pro, anti + neu), which means at any one time there could be an unbiased mod (and going off of being a system myself, cofronters would not have a solid unbiased ground due to co blurring)
There is one mixed art channel, for some reason, and the most recent image (it was spoilered, Iâll give them the bare minimum) was art of a minor/adult ship kissing đ a mixed art channel in an anti/pro server is just a stupid idea considering antis Dont make art of kids being groomed and proshippers evidently do, but why does art even need to be featured in a server like that???? ESPECIALLY when the majority of the proship debate is Stop making cute shippy art of grooming abuse!
@shipcourse-culture-is your server (assuming itâs yours since itâs linked to your blog) is horribly modded, horribly made up, and overall not a very good idea. A better alternative would be a subreddit, because it is ACTUALLY an open-forum, that people can leave and see without being totally cut out, people can have individual debates on posts without it being group chat style (hard to track and keep up on), and you need a bigger UNBIASED mod team
I dont use the term anti because itâs stupid but i am against proshippers, but i do understand what you were trying to do â it was just very poorly executed. Im going to stick around in the server until itâs active to see what itâs like, but jeeesus i cannot imagine anything productive is going to come of it
Something i noticed too, looking through the members, there are a LOT of accounts that specify theyâre alt accounts specifically for proship stuff. Almost like its something to be hidden from general friends and ashamed of? Even though friends cant see your servers unless theyâre in them? Jeez.

i made a thread on twitter about this but i've been thinking about vanilla vs royal i cant handle how happy i am that royal has made ppl like akechi more, not just for "hes hot" reasons bc ppl love that but winning over reddit* folks who dislike many fanon takes for being too wooby,
not that i particularly care for Wooby bc ive been in fandom for ages and i like seeing ppl happy - i know theres a certain degree of allowance when it comes to twisting canon characterization for content, because you're the content creator, its in your hands and cmon-Â
but especially with royal i think akechi's serious edge "won over a lot of people" who can now respect him for how he approached refusing the dream world, i think thats something they can understand and appreciate - ESPECIALLY when a lot of ppl's beef with vanilla akechi was "daddy doesnt love me boo hoo" which is a GROSS misunderstanding/simplification of his EXTREMELY complex character, which was barely covered or etc bc of vanilla's horrid writing -- over all! its not JUST him - BUT, royal provided such a good opportunity to show off akechi's character, through giving him more screentime and VERY IMPORTANTLY: Plot Relevance like how, say mementos mission shows off joker's need to be helpful bc hes a deep-feeling person, or scramble showing off haru and makoto and the other thieves by drawing them against the new characters to compare and contrast and give them Time to BE, - royal gave akechi time to recover from the frankly AWFUL vanilla narrative decision to shoot and shove him off like chopped liver and never mention him again, so that many ppl's impression of akechi goro was of an incomprehensible, annoying character who blew up and then acted like he dont knowww know bodaay haghnaghnahgna Â
i joke but SERIOUSLY a bad first AND last impression, REALLY...Â
ahh. im just surprised !! every time someone says they like him or that they disliked him earlier but dont post-royal or etc etc it always takes me by surprise even after all this time !! it makes me very happy -though even as i focus on how happy i am that people like his character, even streamers talking about his ass (what ass... ... cindy thats bone) or etc-Â i shouldnt, but i still count it as a sort of win because my standards are so low ;-;.. i dont like sexualizing characters (of any gender or sexuality, dont worry ^-^'') but the point of it all is that the amount of stannery is .. stunning i think, from all ends of the fandom, when i think about how nervous vanilla felt to me. if im wording this all right.
-- that being said. obviously there are ppl who still dont like him, VEHEMENTLY, and everyone gets so passionate about him and everything that tension and fights erupt very very quickly - it makes me wonder what about royal didnt hit with them, but hit with other people, in a Genuinely Curious kind of way. not that im not suuper passionate about goroboying, because, i am !! royal makes me very happy and i stay out of fights as best as i can because i know, ACUTELY, how PAINFUL it is to have a hyperfixation broken. nauseous furious shaking heart aching - its heartbreak !! i'd rather die before i inflicted a pain like that on someone. + id rather remember something for the love i felt for it than the harm.

Amnesty Sylvain Theory(?)
Ok so I was relistening to some amnesty episodes, (mostly 28 and 32 because I love making myself cry apparently) and I had some thoughts. I dont event know if the information I'm basing this theory off of is even 100% accurate but I'm gonna try to make this as understandable as possible because it's just gonna be me rambling for a couple paragraphs. I'm on mobile rn so I don't think I can put a keep reading thing so sorry, this is gonna get long.
Oh yeah and spoilers for up to episode 32
So here's what we know so far and I apologize if I'm getting some of these wrong.
Sylvain, the entity, is missing
Aubrey can hear the thoughts and memories of Sylvain's Interpreter who I cant remember the name of at the moment
Sylvain is missing because a while back some humans went to Sylvain and broke off pieces of the crystal
Aubrey can interact with the crystal, but instead of giving her energy like it does to other Sylvans, (is that the term? Or is it silphs? I cant remember) she gives energy to the crystal
The Flamebright Pendant has been passed down throughout Aubrey's family and is made of the Sylvain Crystal
Aubrey thinks her powers were what caused the fire the night Ned and Boyd robbed her house
Aubrey met Magic when she was trying to revive Deputy Dewey
Dani told Aubrey that recently she realized that she felt at home when she was with Aubrey
Naturally when given this information, some people have come to the conclusion "oh, Aubrey might be Sylvain" but I don't think that's the case. I'm gonna try and go over my thoughts on that and try to be coherent because my thoughts are very scattered as I type this. One big thing that I keep going back and forth on is how Dani told Aubrey that she felt like home. And she even specifies, not sentimentally, literally. There's probably a good couple of ways you could interpret that, but the way I've seen people interpret it as is "Subconsciously, you remind me of Sylvain". But that also doesn't make sense. When Dani is expressing her worries about which side of the gate to land on, she mentions that part of the reason she was having such a hard time with that decision was that Sylvain no longer felt like home.
But here's where my little theory(?) (and I put a question mark with that bc honestly I'm still not sure about it) comes in. What if Sylvain is in the Flamebright Pendant?
Ok, yes, I know, it's a bit of a reach bc for most of amnesty the flamebright pendant has been locked in the back room of the cryptonomica, but hear me out. (I would like to emphasize, there's a whole bunch of connections I'm just kind of bullshitting with no data to draw from so you might want to take this with a grain of salt)
My main reasoning is that if memory serves, Sylvain went missing the day the crystal got broken, so who's to say that she(?) didn't get trapped in one of the shards? And that shard hadn't just been providing the Little Family some luck, but also a little bit of magic that got passed whenever a family member passed the pendant down to their descendant? That could be why Aubrey's powers manifested that night specifically, not just the danger, but because her mother gave her the pendant. She wasnt wearing it, but maybe all it took was Mrs. Little vocalizing that, yes Aubrey was the next owner of the pendant. Then even after Ned took the pendant, that magic was still fairly linked to Aubrey, just not as strong.
The real question is, why would Aubrey's magic suddenly reactivate again at some random magic show? Mama. Mama, who is constantly working with the former inhabitants of Silvain. Mama, who has probably been to Sylvain multiple times. Whatever piece of sylvain is connected to Aubrey might be able to sense that? So her magic sparks again and she's brought back to Amnesty Lodge where there's even more Sylvain energy because not only is the gate right there, but Aubrey, without even realizing it, is closer to the pendant than she has been in years. So now that the connection between Aubrey and Sylvain is stronger than, probably ever, she's now starting to get more access, more control, over her powers.
Why does Aubrey have access to Alexandra's(?) memories? Maybe because they both have fairly strong connections to Sylvain, they have some amount of connection with eachother by association? (Another interpretation could also be Alexandra is Sylvain and Aubrey is the new interpreter?)
With the crystal stuff, I feel like maybe Aubrey is drawing her powers directly from Sylvain? And while the crystal is the battery, Sylvain is the energy source. The crystal only has so much energy to give out before it's drained, but Sylvain was its constant source. So that could explain why instead of giving energy, the crystal takes from Aubrey. (Of course this could be the crystal's reaction to all humans, we just dont know since Aubrey is the only one we've seen touch the crystal so far).
And finally, when Dani tells Aubrey she literally feels like home. I know what I already said but there's something else I didn't mention. The thing that Silvain provides that all of its inhabitants require to stay sane. Everywhere Dani has been, everywhere she has called home, as had that one specific similarity. It had to, or else all of the sylphs stuck on earth would have long gone feral. Whatever energy is given by the crystal and the springs by Amnesty Lodge. Dani also mentioned it was a recent thing. Aubrey getting her pendant back was also a relatively recent thing.

(Also I feel like they're gonna find some way to bring Sylvain back bc it would make sense that the big loose end of "where the hell did Sylvain go" is something that got tied up at the end and this seems like a good way to do it)

We were given the task of coming up with an idea and creating something for the young creative awards.Â
The first thing I am going to do is start with an idea list of different projects I could create.

Some of these topics/Ideas are rather broad so I am going to look at three of them and think about what route I would go down If I was to go with the specified topic area/idea.
Out of the things listen the once that I would most like to create are, Isometric work, Illustrations and skateboard graphics.
Isometric Work.
I really like some isometric posters and design and have never really given it a try because I think it might be a bit hard to wrap my head around it with it potentially being almost 3d on a 2d platform but I could possibly make a Isometric character or buildings or some sort of scene there are many options and possibility as Isometric Work is more of a style but it is something I am interested in and would like to try out at some point.
Illustration Work.
I really like illustration and would like to make something within illustrator or Photoshop but I am not very good at digital drawing and would like to learn more about it and get better at using Wacom pads but I could also create anything under this topic like animation or character design or just nice poster drawings.
Skateboard Graphics.
I like this idea and have been skateboarding for a few years and have always wanted to make some graphics for skateboard decks. I could do lots of things here and incorporate illustrations or isometric work but If I decide to go with this idea I need to think about If I want to create a deck for a specific brand or company or I could start a fake skate company or just design a set of board graphics.
After thinking about each topic I am going to make skateboard deck graphics as I can go with anything form vector work to more traditional illustrations allowing me to keep developing my idea of what I am going to put on the boards and if I want to capture a certain brand or style.
Neck Face
Neck Face is a anonymous graffiti artist and illustrator and is know for his more dark and grungy work which is also commonly comedic. He was born in California in 1984 where his work is featured on the streets but also in art galleries around the world, his first gallery show was when he was 18-years-old and was sponsored by Rich Jacobs and held at New Image Art gallery in West Hollywood, California. His drawing style is said to be rough and scratchy with bloody violent themes attached to his work. His first skateboard design was for krooked skateboards creating a pro model for skater Mark Gonzales. Neck face uses lots of mediums from marker pens spray paints and pencils but sharp metal masks, felt installations, and sculptures have been featured in his work.
I really like this idea and look of dark illustration and would like to incorporate it in my work. His work also reminds me of other artists I like such as Lumps and Jenkins and Pollynor.

Design process.
The artist Lumps dose not really have a specific he says he gets most of hist ideas from artist inspiration and constantly doodling in other words its more of a waterfall process. He usually starts with doodles then goes to sketches and then finally inking of digital tracing.
Christoph Niemann
Christoph is an illustrator, graphic designer and author of several books but out of these things he is mainly known for his illustrations. He was born in 1970 in Waiblingen in west Germany. He studied in Germany and developed his art but his career really took off when he moved to New York in america in 1997 and worked on and created many covers for the popular magazines and news papers such as the new Yorker, Atlantic monthly and the new York times. His work follows lots of different styles as he uses lots of things to create his work from pencils to paints and painting with coffee.Â
I do really like his illustrations and I think the reason why there so good is because of how creative and abstract some of the ideas are. He does things to help his imagination go wild and to help him create interesting ideas, for example he has multiple sketchbooks with one shape on the front and then he will fill the hole sketchbook with drawings incorporating the shape. One of the things he does to help his work be as creative as possible is that he says when things are going well you should always pick another direction allowing him to really experiment and create complex ideas.
The reason I am looking into this illustrator is because I watched a Netflix documentary and I really like the way he works.
His design process.
He usually does all his work in his office as he says he cant do it anywhere els and he will work from nine in the morning to six at night. He has everything he needs with him before he starts working allowing him to just start and create something. the thing that I like about his approach is that he doesn't plan or wait for inspiration to hit him he will just start drawing and let the ideas come to him, he says âyou haft to trust that crazy things happenâ. He dose not like to put words or titles to his work as he feels that the illustration should explain itself and represent the contents its associated with. When he works to deadlines he dose not allow himself to experiment to much and he will just jump right in by putting pen to paper. He says that its not about waiting around for hours waiting for inspiration to arrive its about turning up and starting because once you start creating something creations and ideas take place and this is something that I really like the idea of and would like to try in my work. Â
Now that I know that I want to make skateboard graphics and have some artist that I like that could help inspire me and influence my work I need to work out what work process I am going to use.
Agile
The agile process is essentially a process where you slowly develop an idea allowing yourself to go back and develop your work working with clients and getting feedback helping you create your finial piece that is suitable for the client or you design project. Essentially your not fixed on one pacific idea you are allowing yourself to develop it and change your idea before the final development process making it a safer working method when it comes to client work or product development.
Benefits: using this method can lead to better customer satisfaction, quicker development time as you may not need to go and change a whole idea because you are working with other minds or a client throughout the design process meaning you are both know the final look and outcome. Sometimes you need people to look at your work as others can help and bring ideas to the table or maybe point out flaws or things you missed.
Problems: You might not want to create exactly what you want. There is a chance that you might be relying on other people to do something and they might not be able to do it as well or as quick as you. Working with people can speed up the process of things but also slow things down if your working with people that do not agree with you or you do not like what they are doing.
Waterfall
Waterfall is a method where you create a set idea and then develop it. This method can work well for projects that are for yourself and also clients if the clients trust in your ability to create what there looking for in one shot. One of the problems with this method is that is can be risky for example if your working with a client and they want a logo so you have an idea and make it then the client might not like it and you haft to go back to the drawing board wasting lots of time but if you use the agile process you can work with people to develop your ideas making it fit the brief resulting in happy costumers. Waterfall can work well but can also be very hit or miss I think it depends on the project your doing.
Benefits: This method can be quick as you do not go back as much as agile and you are potentially setting a goal and finishing it without time to converse or adjust. You are able to do things your way without someone telling you how they might want to build on your ideas/designs. If your using this method with a client it might mean there giving you full creative freedom meaning you can create what you want to make and how to do it.
Problems: Without involving others or conversing with your client as much it might mean you spend lots of time creating a final product and your client does not like It and wants you to try again meaning you have wasted time. Sometimes you do not see the faults in your work and having someone els look at it means that they might be able to help you or bring something to the table but if you are not getting others too look at it your designs might not be as polished as they could be.
There are different ways to plan out your work and your process an you can use things like action plans, lists, graphs and more. There are even webistes out there to help with teams devloping something or helping people get things done essentially using action plans.
Monday.com is a website that allows you to manage tasks so you can do things on the site such as check progress of tasks, set tasks and communicate with the people your working with. This site uses things like action plans and graphs.
There are other sites that offer simular survices such as Mavenlink who also have features that help you keep track of time and budegets allowing you to not just manage your team but also finace.
Because I am creating this project for the young creative awards and there is no specific criteria I can just make what I want to make so I think the waterfall method will work well as I will create the idea I want to create with me being the only person that needs to be happy with the final piece I can develop it how I want. I would like to incorporate a bit of a agile work process into me development to as I feel it is a good idea to get other people opinions on my work which might help me create something that a larger audience likes other than me.
After looking into some artist I want to go down the digital illustration route and want to make something potentially dark and gory. Because these are skateboard decks I might try and incorporate some skate culture. I have been skating for a long time and am familiar with the background, skateboarding still has this rebellious reputation with more grungy brands like thrasher and enjoy promoting a look of skaters being influenced by drugs sex and just being general rule beakers. This idea is a little old fashion now as skateboarding welcomes everyone but this traditional outlaw skateboard scene is often portrayed in skateboard decks especially when there representing skaters for pro models.
I have not really done any illustration so I drew some illustrations to help me get used to wacom pads and start to get the hang of digital drawing. Here is one of the drawings I did.


I am thinking of going down the route of darker illustration for the skateboard decks so I made a mind map to help me think of visuals I can bring into my work.

I then tried to come up with five ideas in five minutes with the visual elements from my mind map in mind.
The one minute ideas that I came up with were.
1 Skeleton with a boner
2 Alien on the moon drinking beer in a deck chair
3 one planet eating another planet
4 the grim reaper cutting vegetables with its blade
5 Pervert ghosts

The Idea that I like and would like to develop further is pervert ghosts as I think I will be able to fit ghosts on a skateboard deck well and I also think it could be funny ghost spying on people in possibly dodgy situations.
I am now going to list some scenarios that you might not want other people to witness.

eating other peoples food

I then got my friend to look at the different options I had written down and she said she liked doing drugs, eating bogies because its relatable and also littering because its a common thing people do.
I like the idea of doing drugs, drinking in mid day so the next thing I did was create quick sketches of some of the things I listed here are the sketches.
After doing the sketches and just thinking off the top of my head I had three ideas for the skateboard decks.
1- for the first idea I wanted to have someone in a toilet cubicle smoking weed out of a bong and then the person will have ghosts around them basically spying on the person. I want to make the artwork look scratchy and grotty like my artists and I also think it would be fun to vandalize the toilet with posters and graffiti. To make things a little more weird I had the idea to put the character with the bong inside the toilet instead of them siting on it.
2- for the second Idea I wanted to make a business man that was sneakily drinking in the middle of the day behind some bins outside some sort of corner shop. And then I will follow the theme of pervert ghosts and out in ghosts spying on the character.
3- the third idea I wanted to draw was a character practicing Satanism so I want the character to have a goat mask on and then maybe a chicken that he is about to sacrifice and then the room the character is in will be filled with things that relate to satanism and the devil.
with my ideas and creation of the illustration I am taking more of a waterfall approach as this is just a project that I have come up with and am not creating it for anyone but me but I like to possibly bring some agile methods into my work to help potentially develop it.
Now that I have done the sketches and have my ideas for the pervert ghosts skateboard series/triptych I went into the design process where I used Photoshop and a wacom pad and pen to create the illustrations.
The plan is to take inspiration from the artists I researched and skate culture. I want my work to have a rough scratchy feel like lumps and pollynors work but I want to follow a design process that fits with christoph niemann so for he illustrations I have a idea but I am mainly going to be looking at my very rough sketches as a guide and the reason I haven't done more detailed sketches of what I want the final piece to look like is because I want to start drawing and hope that different ideas and elements of things I could add to the illustrations come to me as I draw hophally making something a little weird and wacky and this is an approach Christopher niemann uses in his work.
 My design process.
first thing I did was google the size of a skateboard deck for Photoshop and it said 9.5 x 33 inches so I used this but skateboards are a variety of sizes but I trusted google and used that as my dimensions. I then used my sketches as reference and started the designing. The process that I usually do is I would do a rough drawing of the thing I was trying to make in Photoshop to give me a rough guide for when I put in my line work. I then turned the opacity of that layer down and started putting in the line work. Whilst I did this I tried to not make the line work look too clean to fit the scratchy rough style I was trying to incorporate into my work so I would rarely hold shift when drawing lines and if I did I used the pressure sensitivity in the wacom pad to make all the lines different weights and thickness. After I had the line work down for the thing I was drawing I would create a layer bellow which would be the coloring layer, so I then colored in everything under the line work. I tried to make my color pallet for the three boards look a little grotty and dirty and then once I had done the coloring in I created two layers one for shadows and one for highlights. I would then work out where the light source is and using white and black to draw over the color layer and then turn the opacity of those layers down to create more depth and lighting. Then lastly I add another layer and draw in final shadows. When creating I am working of my minimal sketches in the hope that ideas come to me naturally but I will also be doing research to influence my creations. Another thing I will be always thinking about is that this is a skateboard design so the main focus of the illustration will be in the middle because the trucks of a skateboard cover the top and bottom section of the deck.
Once I had my ideas and rough sketches I started to create my first skateboard graphic of the character standing in a toilet. I started drawing the basics such as the things that I knew were going to be involved in the drawing such as the character the toilet and walls to the cubicle. I then started to think of things that could be added to the drawing and one of the main areas where I could just draw and doodle to try and make creations happen much like Christoph Niemann would was the vandalism I wanted to do on the toilet walls. Most of the vandalism will be coming off the top of my head but because I wanted to incorporate elements of an agile design process (involving others in my work) I showed people on instergram my work so far on the drawing and asked them about toilet graffiti to get some inspiration and possible thoughts of the project. The question I asked was what have you seen on toilet walls and here are some of the responses.
I also took a look in to Liverpool and Glasgow toilet graffiti as people were saying that these places had the best toilet graffiti. I was also sent these photos by people from Instagram as a response to my question.
After geting feedback and people involved to help inspire me I was ready to start coming up with the things to put on the walls. Some of the graffiti I came up with were things such as a dick snake, glory hole and a sign that said wash your hands and then hands had bee crossed out and replaced with gran. From this point on for the first board I did not do anymore research and I just drawed and doodled letting ideas come to me, Once I had the basic sketching and line work done for the toilet and walls I started adding posters to the walls and toilet doodles off the top of my head. Because I was working completely Randomly I didn't have very structured layers in Photoshop as I would have an idea start sketching it, then doing the line work, coloring and shading and then once I had finished that I would move onto the next drawing, I did this because I was just trying to start creating and get my ideas for the drawing down much like the artists I have researched but when I wanted to move certain parts of my drawings around I wouldn't know which layers where which so I spent some time grouping things so it would be easier to move around but it still got a little confusing but I was still following the idea of sketch, ink, color then work out where the light source is going from and draw dark and light sections to whatever I was drawing to give the illustrations depth. I was coming to the end of my illustration and I was almost finished but I asked for a second opinion making my work flow have a bit more of a agile approach and the advise that I got was if I was going to fill all the walls up with posters and doodles I should file other parts of the drawing up because I looked a little bare. I agreed so I decided to add some little extra drawings such as toilet roll on the floor and vomit and then where ever there were patches in the illustration where it did not look as full as the other parts I would draw a ghost to fill the space making the hole illustration look full and busy but hopefully not too crammed so you can understand what the drawing is.

For the next skateboard design I wanted to try and plan everything out and just have a little bit more structer to my layers so I would get so confused on which layer and section I was working on and it would make it easier to go back and edit my illustrations which is something that I did a lot when I was drawing shadows and highlights so the plan was to simply keep things in groups and label all the groups and each group would have an outline inking layer a color layer a layer for shadow and a layer for highlights and then possibly another layer for touch ups and extra things I wanted to put in basically so I could go back and change or add things. I still went in with the same plan as the first illustration so I just drew the basics in a digital sketch form going off my very basic sketch and then started adding everything in working with each element or section one at a time.

for this illustration I once again let things just come to my head and drew everything how I wanted so I also didn't have a specific color pallet in mind I just picked colors that I thought would work with the idea that I needed to make all three illustrations look similar because its a trip tic of pieces and I wanted the colors to be a little bit more gross and dirtier..

For the final illustration which is to do with satanism I used the same design methods as the other illustrations but for this one I had to do some research mainly looking at symbols and reading about satanism practices.
for this illustration I made the layout look simulat to the first one because I really liked having the walls that you could place things on. I added things like upside down corsses and some comedic things such as a poster saying I love mom. I also had the idea to add a moster energy poster and the reason for this is because one the drink is called moster but I remeber watching a video where a lady explains how the monster energy drink is satanic. Evaluation.
What were the final ideas.
The final idea was to create three skateboard illustrations to put on skateboard decks. The title for the three boards is Pervert Ghosts and the concept of the art is ghost spying on people doing things they maybe shouldn't be doing. I am also trying to represent skate culture and artwork and illustrations within the skateboarding scene.
For the first board I wanted it to be drugs related and because marijuana is popular in skate culture as skateboarding emerged from the more hippie surfing scene I decided yo have a character smoking out of a bong surrounded by ghosts in a toilet cubicle.
The second idea was to focus on daytime drinking as lots of business men potentially use drink and drugs to keep them going so I wanted to have a character in a suit drinking behind some bins surrounded by ghosts spying/perving on the character.
For the last board I wanted to explore Satanism as the concept involves ghosts and evolved from me doing idea generation within dark themes so for the last illustration I wanted to have a character sacrificing a animal like a chicken surrounded by artwork and items attached to the culture.
How did you arrive at these Ideas.
To come up with the concept and ideas I was exploring in all the different ways of idea generation and one of them was writing down an idea a minute and I did this with darker themes in mind and I came up with pervert ghosts. I then came up with the ideas for the illustration by doing more idea generation and looking at the different angles and topics I could work with that related to the concept of pervert ghosts.
What inspired me?
I have been skateboarding for a few years so I am inspired by the culture and skateboarding as a whole as it is something I enjoy to do but I also really like art attached to skateboarding and artists that work within street ware and skateboarding. So I looked at some artists that I liked and was inspired by there styles and work methods to develop ideas and the process to creating work.
what specific approaches did you practice?
I looked into different design approaches and I decided to take more of a water fall approach to my work as I came up with the idea and the artwork and final piece will just be for me and not a client but I did also try and bring some of an agile approach to my work as I think its useful to get other peoples opinions on your work and get opinions and tips so I mainly used a waterfall approach so I could create exactly what I wanted to make but then also bring in other people to help develop my work making it appeal to more people than just myself. After researching artist I took influence from there work flow and used it in my work for example there techniques in idea generation such as getting a pen and just randomly drawing letting the ideas come to you and trying to not give yourself to many specific boundaries so you can truly create what your mind can come up with.
What issues did I encounter?
I didn't really encounter many issues but one thing that I did on the first illustration was not label or group my layers making it really tricky for me to go back and redraw or edit certain bits because I was spending a lot of time trying to find the right layers.
How did you overcome them?
For the second and third illustrations I grouped and labeled the elements in my drawings and tried to follow a layer structure for each illustration putting coloring, line work, shadows and highlights into different sections.
what have you learnt during this project?
I have learnt more about different methods to develop ideas and also more about structuring your design process. I have also learnt lots about illustration such as using a wacom pad experimenting with brushes and pressure sensitivity and layer structure when drawing.
What do you like
I really like the first illustration from the character to the posters and graffiti on the wall I also like the scratchy more rough grotty art style I was trying to portray. I think the more dirty looking color pallets look good and I think I did some good illustrations with shadows and highlights thinking where the light source might have been coming from. I also think the composition was okay and I did a good job at keeping the main focus of the illustration in the middle as skateboard trucks would be covering the top and bottom of the illustration I especially think the layout of the second illustration looks nice with all the elements and layers with the bushes at the front and then the character and shops in the middle with a city skate at the top.
What do you not like.
I think the background of the first and last illustrations look very similar compared to the 2nd illustration and it just makes it look out of place because its a triptych they should all look similar so I should of eather made each illustration all in completely different looking scenes or have all three in a the box like room that the first and last illustration have. I also think the last illustration seems a little bare and not as full as the other too. Also the character is not very good and I do not like the goat mask I gave him. I am also not a huge fan of the colors in the second illustration as I do not like the grays in in the skyline I think there a bit too dark and I could of added brinks or more texture like the shops have but I didn't because its in the background so it doesn't have as much focus. I also think the color pallet for all three designs vary to much so I should of been more strict with my colors and stuck to a specific color pallet. I did try and use the same colors from across the illustrations as much as I could but I feel like there is too much of variation of colors throughout the three illustrations. Also the moc up that I made of the designs on skateboards the decks are a little to big leaving a small section at the top and bottom of the board with no illustration on it.

I uploaded my work to the young creative awards but I only uploaded my first illustration as I dint think the other too were as good or good enough.

magic in spectraverse - infodump
so iv e been meaning to make a post abt this for a while so why not now, when im not even sure how my words are right and if i can think of the right things to say
in spectraverse - well, kind of, there are several spectraverse timelines and none have particular names so i cant really specify which one, weâll just call it 2 - there are several different kinda of magic, along with subtypes
There are three different casters a being - typically a human, it is unusual for any nonhuman to call themselves a caster - can be, âcasterâ being the name for the way someone casts a spell. Its a shit name, iâll pick a better one some other time. Anyway. So, you can cast spells. Some make their own spells, others use books or loose paper or they remember it or whatever. Think of it like baking. You can stick it all in together, and it will always make something. Whether that thing is edible, that varies. Casting is like that, you can put in four whatever the fucks and three bees and you might get a puff of smoke or you might blow up your house. You might have been trying to dye your hair magically. Anyway.
A witch is a caster who draw the power of their spells from the environment - heat, light, feelings. A caster can do basically any spell depending on whatever the fuck they are but often, they are spells that give back. So. If you draw power from say, the sunâs heat, it might be a spell to replenish some part of the environment. I really havent thought this through but i just want to talk soo Witches can cast any spell, but drawing power from the environment can be time consuming and troublesome, so their spells tend to be weaker and- i dont know how to say this properly. I have this nice image all ready but i dont know what its words are. Iâd say witches spells tend to be longer lasting? Yeah. Like. You cant draw energy from the environment quickly, but a long term spell being very constantly, slowly replenshed is the sort of things witches excel at. Like, making a plant grow faster, or a love spell, or a happiness spell, or maybe something to increase income - i dont know. Witches arent particularly important at the moment in my story so i havent given them much thought.
At this stage i should probably point out that these are all considered gender neutral. U dont have to be a lady to be a witch, and u dont have to be a dude to be a wizard, and you dont have to be nonbinary to be a mage.
So next up is wizards, who use their own energy. This is the thing that is good for fast acting spells, or things that work in bursts. Setting fires, i cant think of anything else, teleportation, yeah i really have not thought much about this either. Wizards replenish their energy just as any human generally does, sleeping, eating, spending an absurdly long amount of time gambling away your money in Pokemon - okay maybe thats just me but you get the idea.
Wizards are more useful in battle than witches, though armor, cloaks, staffs, etc. Can all have a boost in power by a witch.
Mages are people either born with the natural ability for elemental manipulation, OR people who perform a combination of both witchery and wizardry. Maybe just the latter. Iâll have to think of a name for the former.
There are eight major elements, and beyond those are several subtypes/skills that can only be learnt with particular elements. I havent thought of many of these but iâll work them out.
So- Water Air Earth Fire Lightning Steel/Metal (i wanted to call it metal but my pokemon loving ass kept calling it steel) Light Dark/ness
Everyone has an element 'assignedâ to them in their genetics, but most people dont have the natural ability to manipulate it. Instead, they may have a few personality traits associated with the element, they might excel in a field of study related to that element, they could just really like that element OR nothing in particular. Like. It affects them in no way whatsoever, which is probably the most common. Also people can kinda teach themselves manipulation but it is Hard.
When youâre a 'naturalâ (pretty sure i stole that term from somewhere else but w/e) you will have had the ability to control the element from birth. Natural elemental manipulators tend to have good visualisation skills and decent motor skills, though sometimes they have neither of these things and it ends really fucking badly, because if you cant picture something right you cant control it, and if you cant point your hand where u need to point it, thats bad. Elemental manipulation is largely controlled with visualisation, picturing what you want to do in your mind, but it also has to do with how good you are at controlling your energy. Most people wont be able to say, evaporate all the water from a pool in an instant, actually thats a terrible example for reasons i have not yet explained, give me a moment- Most people wont be able to cause an earthquake the moment they start using magic consciously, and that is because they havent learnt how to control their energy. Some people MIGHT be able to do it, but its more of an âaccidental spontaneous energy releaseâ thing than a 'five year old good at controlli their energyâ thing.
So then you have subtypes. I havent thought of many of these yet, actually im P sure i only have one but lets talk about it anyway.
Temperature manipulation is a subskill of the metal and water elements, largely linked to the control of emotions. Actually, any of the elements that have the states of matter which i am forgetting, will be able to learn this subtype. It means, you guessed it, you cn control temperature. So a water user would then get a sort of sub element of ice, and they can also boil water. Metal users would be able to melt and solidify the metal. It takes time to learn, and oh shit mind blank. Uh.oh right. Speed. So like you might be able to boil water with the ability but u wont be able to do it really fast unless youve practised a lot. Poor emotional regulation + temperature manipulatio can mean Bad because it would lead to the accidental alteration of environemtnt. That was too fancy. Basically u might get road rage and then ur whole fucken car would melt.
Uh also healing? Pretty self explanatory, i havent though abt it much yet, much like everything else in this post.
Humans can also learn magic through objects. Some help to channel energy, some boost it, you can get orbs to give you an extra element, etc.
So then NONHUMANS are so much luckier because magic is like. Their first language. Most nonhumans, or even half humans with ANY nonhuman in them, will find it MUCH easier to learn a second element. Nonhumans have a body built for magic, so like their body can channel energy into multiple elements simulaneously, which is a thing humans find difficult, as they are not particularly made for magic. They still do it though. Nonhumans tend to be manipulators rather than casters, and like i said before, if they are they dont typically use the term caster.
Also, here are some things i forgot to mention/magic which i couldnt work out where to fit in:
- TELEKINESIS: good ole telekinesis. magical story woukdnt be complete without it. Pretty easy for most magical (nonhuman) beings to learn, at a basic level (closing doors, picking up the tv remote bc youre too lazy). You can go further into it and learn how to fuckin slam a dude against a wall like in supernatural. Harder for humans to learn (look i know humans get all this shit but theyre the majority).
-SUMMONING: SUMMON SATAN OR SOME SHIT. first of all, if you summon satan, you will get one of five people who will all tell you that satan is the incorrect term.also, summoning satan isnt particularly powerful summoning magic, it doesnt rely on the userâ s power much, but you gotta give a little blood. Anyway. Summoning is usually assisted by tokens of some sort that depict what you are summonging. Sometimes. To be a summoner u have to make friendship with thingd that CAN be summoned, like angels demons nine tailed fox etc. if it cant talk and make friends then u can generally find their tokens in shops, particualrly when there are a lot of the species existing and they dont exist lhysically outside of the void or something. But sentient beings like demons u goota find, befirend, and then they giv e you their token like some sorta business card. They also can turn down a summon, because they are sentient and if youre sentient it is possible you may be busy.
-TIME POWERS: HAVENT thogubt about this at all but worth a mention. Involves freezing time, travelling time and I FORGOT ABOUT DIMENSIONAL TRAVEL
-dimensional travel: you can travel dimensions, kinda. Ther e is one character who can do this currrently, she uses an unnamed object to help her draw her own power and she can juml timelines and travel different world s without the use of gates, which are often used otherwise.
Anyway thats all i can think of but i am definitely forgetting something

My mum and dad's combined cost of car insurance on their Range rover sport HSE TDV6 (2.7litre) is around 1200. My dad rang up his insurance broker to get a quote on putting me as a named driver, and we got a quote of a total of about 6,000 per year. I know this is a lot of money, however the insurance company says this is because the car is in bracket 19. I was led to believe by my Land Rover dealer that the TDV6 model was in group 14/15, where it was the Supercharged 4.4litre model which was in group 18/19. Is this quote too much for the model car specified? Ok, so this is a little complicated... Oct 2008 I had a car accident. My car was written off. My car was towed to a garage and was held there while the insurance company evaluated the damage. THAT WAS THE LAST TIME I SAW MY CAR. Because the size of my excess (800) and the amount of damage matched the value of the car (800) I was advised it would be pointless to claim on the insurance and it was written off. The accident was my fault and I held my hands up and admitted it and the other party walked away with everything sorted. No suggestion of fraud and certainly nothing fraudulent on my part. Towards the end of 2008 my insurance company started falling off the radar, not returning my calls or my emails, letters etc. I repeatedly asked what I was supposed to do next (I'd never had an accident before and the whole process confused me because they kept giving me conflicting info) and where my car was. I was ignored (or given incorrect info). In the end I declared a SORN on the car and had so much going on in my personal life, I forgot about it, knowing the car was off the road. Anyway, I'm now trying to track the car down as the SORN is about to run out. Insurance company are still off the radar and refusing to answer. Now they're saying they have no record of me, my policy OR my car. So I've lost my car, I don't know who's got it and yet I'm still liable for it. What can I do? Can I get the police involved? Trading standards? ANYTHING? I don't care about the car, whoever has it can keep it! I just don't want to be liable for it! My boyfriend drives my car occasionally and my full-coverage insurance will cover him and my car if he were to get in an accident. Anita Desai: Every once in a while, a short story pursues you
As the writer becomes 80, she reflects on how tales briefly told are currently under wont of returning
I was always a scribbler. As soon as I was coached the alphabet I pent even before I could spell so that I was always persecuting everybody in private households( includes the cook who knew no English) How do you spell live? How do you spell tree, flame, fledgling, fish?( He responded by making me a superb offering on my birthday of an inkwell carved out of soft soapstone, which I unfortunately spoilt by running real ink into that tender, decorative object .) I crowded notebook after notebook sat on a cane stool at my round light-green table and was named, with an understandably resigned sigh, The Writer in the Family.
What was I writing? Consciously, with awareness and meaning, relatively limited. I simply had an implore to make all that is I considered, hear and experienced on paper, in ink. I had little awareness of categories journals were bibles to me, the imposing leather-bound bibles behind the glass on my mothers bookshelves, the shabby, dog-eared paperbacks on my siblings shelves, and the exciting, inviting ones in all their diversification in the bookshop where I devoted my pocket money. I cant remember when I learned to differentiate between the short story and the novel no, actually, I can: it was when I first decided to send a piece out to be published( producing was important, I knew writing had to be in etch if it was to earn its mention ), and it was, of course, of a short section to fit into a magazine or magazine. But I was also always writing at length with the idea of a book, a suitable record, in my thinker, and a part of me concluded short floors to be neglected novels.
But a short story is not a failed fiction any more than a novella is an extended short story. Each has only one altogether different specified of such standards and upshots. Length is one of them, but portions run wildly. As Hortense Calisher mentioned, How long should a short story be? As long as a piece of string. I mean to tie down the allotment with. I like her practical, workmanlike coming, but there is, in addition, the element of possibility. How did one section I pent be brought to an end a short story, another increase, unwrap itself, saunter, digress and crusade on to a track, a road to a further destination novella, or novel?
It is all a matter of instinct, certainly, and expedition a conviction that dawns on one, while one drives, that one has said what one set out to say: there is no need to go further. For the most side, I have taken longer and watched the stone Id flung into the pond procreate ripples that diversify considerably, reverberation on gurgle, arc on arc, struggling to reach the far coast, and pondered: where will this get? It is the one that renders space both dangerous and forgiving, and lays one open to what may be years of discouragement, gloom, incredulity and segregation while one considers alternatives, makes one tack and then another, sees missteps, redresses them, picks oneself up and strives on, only gradually building up the momentum needed for narrative. But while to participate in so much better that is baffle and exhausting, one may be granted briefly and sporadically that inexplicable breath of breeze that comes up unusually, generate a ruffle, a incite, a ebb that lunges one send and routes one soaring, voyaging, hovering through space and time.
It is the pursuit of that elusive and inexplicable sensation that one attempts in the short story, so different a structure. Instead of those long pulls in which a novelist becomes stranded, the short-story columnist must launch forth on what is a high-wire behave, refusing to look back or down into the abyss, running the length of it at a sprint so as not to lose balance: rapid, quick before you fall! You may go back and start all over again, or change sentences and places, but that initial suggest must maintain its necessity from beginning to end.

But every once in a while, when completing that frenetic dash of the short story, even after this is the case in print, one finds it wont âlets get goingâ of one. It haunts one or, rather, one follows it because there is more to be said, more to be probed into, detected and disclosed. So every once in a while I have found, times and year later, a short story written long ago insisting on becoming a novel.
It is the experience I had when I wrote the short story The Accompanist. I detected then that I had put on paper all I knew very little about that minor figure of the melodic life, the musician in the background, barely detected, all tending being given to the maestro, the soloist. Was he content for it to be so?
Was he or not? There was so much in the life and exertion of that overlooked creator, and I wrote the novel In Custody to give him his due, although I changed the two personas into a poet and student. And again, eventually still, into the novella Translator Translated . One of my earliest short-lived narratives, Scholar and Gypsy, eventually carried on a whole new life as the romance Journey to Ithaca , something I did not even know until a book pointed out the development of the theme: the difference between the specific characteristics who appears the world is all we need and the specific characteristics for whom the world is limited; beyond it there surely lies more. The sought for that other world physical or spiritual that impels them on their tour, had carried on from the short story into the novel as a cartoon might lead to a draw. This subterranean element rising to the surface astonished me, I had not been is cognizant of that development.
Each form requires a different situate of cleverness, even cloths as an creator might necessity pencil or pen and ink, or watercolours or lubricants for one slog or another. Brevity and concision will do for one, while the other involves skepticism, mystery, mistake and staman. If one writes both, which affords the greater enjoyment?
