La cyberintimidation : fléau poison caché derrière un écran
Tumblr media
 https://www.lapresse.ca/actualites/justice-et-affaires-criminelles/actualites-judiciaires/201503/07/01-4850117-les-travaux-du-comite-sur-la-cyberintimidation-sont-lances.php

when i first started my job i had so much anxiety that i would constantly feel ill and physically vomit (gross, i know) because new things just scare me that’s how i am. now i have been working there 2 years and i definitely got confortable, but the pay isn’t great and i’m too afraid to leave my job and find another one in case the same things happen. i know i should step outside my comfort zone but I’m not sure if it’s worth it. therapy is probably what i need lol but anyway
Hi love,
I know exactly how you feel. I’m going through something similar right now. No, it’s not gross, anxiety manifests differently in every person. It’s completely okay that you’re scared about getting a new job. However, as you said, you need to get out of your comfort zone. It can be hard to do that when you have anxiety, but with the right coping mechanisms, you can get through this. You were able to get through your first job even when you were feeling anxious. So what would stop you from doing the same thing at a better job other than your anxiety? What did you do before that helped you calm your anxiety? These are just some questions to help you think about your anxiety and your ability to get a new job.
When you’re experiencing anxiety, you get bombarded with a bunch of irrational thoughts. One of the key components of controlling anxiety is to recognize them and try to counteract them. What are some thoughts you had when you started your current job? What thoughts triggered you to get ill? Now that you’ve thought about some of those thoughts, how would you counteract them? These questions are based on an acronym that I use for my anxiety. This acronym is called STOP, which stands for:
- Scared. - Thoughts.- Other thoughts. - Praise.
This acronym is very helpful in times when you feel anxious. If you can repeat the other thoughts, you can help lower your anxiety.
In addition, to this acronym, there are other ways that you can cope with your anxiety at the moment. I recommend that you try breathing exercises when you begin to feel anxious. Breathing is the simplest way to activate your “parasympathetic nervous system,” which is your body’s brake pedal, while the “sympathetic nervous system” is the gas pedal. Simple deep breaths would suffice, but if you want to try a breathing exercise, I recommend box or four-square breathing. Here is how to do it: https://www.healthline.com/health/box-breathing. If breathing doesn’t work, I recommend that you try a grounding technique to help bring you back to reality. I like to use the 5-4-3-2-1 method. If this method doesn’t work for you, there are other ones out there that might. Here is the 5-4-3-2-1 method: https://theblissfulmind.com/grounding-technique/.
Here are some resources with more information on how to cope with anxiety:
- https://www.healthline.com/health/mental-health/how-to-cope-with-anxiety#anxiety-red-flags. - https://adaa.org/tips. - https://www.verywellmind.com/manage-your-anxiety-2584184. - https://anxietynetwork.com/content/coping-statements-anxiety. - https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/hide-and-seek/201210/coping-anxiety. - www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/in-practice/201503/50-strategies-beat-anxiety.
Getting therapy for your anxiety isn’t a bad idea. If you feel like you need it, please seek out treatment. There are a few ways that you can get in contact with a therapist. You can contact your insurance company or consult their handbook to see which doctors take your insurance. In addition, you can visit https://www.opencounseling.com/ or https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists to find a therapist near you. If you’re not financially able to afford therapy here are two websites with information on affordable therapy: https://www.moneyunder30.com/affordable-therapy and https://themighty.com/2017/08/affordable-online-therapy-cheap/;
If you’re under the age of 18, please contact your doctor or speak with your parents with getting help.
If you’re not able to get to a therapist or want to speak to someone about your anxiety, I recommend that you utilize helplines. Helplines are free, confidential, and designed to give patrons support on whatever issues they may have. Here are my recommendations:
- Crisis Text Line: Text “HOME” to 741741 to begin chatting with a counselor. - 7 Cups of Tea: Visit www.7cups.com or download their app from the IOS or Google Play store to create an account. After you’ve made your account, you can begin chatting with a trained volunteer or attend group sessions. - The Mighty is an online community and magazine for disability and mental illness. Visit www.themighty.com to create an account. Once you do, you’re able to post thoughts and questions to The Mighty community and receive support and advice that way. - Stop Breathe Think: https://www.stopbreathethink.com/. - Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA): https://adaa.org/.- NAMI: The NAMI HelpLine can be reached Monday through Friday, 10 am–6 pm, ET. 1-800-950-NAMI (6264) or [email protected]
Please don’t let your anxiety hold you back from moving forward in your life. If you continue to stay in a place where you’re not happy, you may end up feeling burned out. I have full confidence that you can overcome this. Remember that you’re stronger than you think. If you need any more support, please don’t hesitate to come back to Asking Jude.
P.S If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, or insomnia, check out our new ASMR channel to relax and rest: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCW-frOIU0fLnTSxOxKnBT8Q

Meggan

But Enough About Me...
Mid-20’s, abusive boyfriend, loss of father, crippling anxiety. It’s a wild cocktail. This is the recipe for one of my best friends, Cameron’s* life a few years back. Cameron had everything going for her but the pull of a manipulative partner and the sudden death of a parent took a big ol’ toll on her life. My bright-eyed, life-of-the-party babe was feeling like a victim and was downing way too much wine and filling every conversation with her woes. Enter shaky hands and weakening friendships. Then she realized, whoa, Dad probz wouldn’t want me to live like this’.
Cameron is beautiful and has a contagious smile. She changed for a while but as I look at her now, I see the happy Cam I knew 10 years ago when we were frolicking around Manhattan eating Pizza at 2am and screaming musical theater songs. She’s back but it took a while. “I was just drinking too much and only hanging out with this one person and I had friends who felt like my friendship was very one-sided and didn’t want to be friends with me anymore. I had to rebuild those relationships.”
Rebuilding is hard AF and most people don’t know where to start. She had asked me once on the phone if she talked about herself too much, I paused for ZERO seconds and said, “love you but yes.” Cut to Cameron asking me how I was on our phone calls a week later…whoa baby! It was unnatural for her at first. “It felt like I had to think about it..” she tells me, looking up at the ceiling trying to recall this time that seems so foreign to her now. “Then it became second nature every time I would talk to someone I cared about to ask them about themselves”. YASSSSS to the repetition of healthy habits leading to concrete changes!
Tumblr media
Master of Social Work, Wendy Lustbader, says about depression and those stuck focused on themselves, “The light of compassion for others doesn’t reach us in there, yet that is precisely what would help us emerge.” DEEP. In another mind-blowing quote about being of service she says,
“It’s tough to oppose the selfish impulse long enough to reap the ample benefits of reciprocity, the giving-and-taking that in slow increments rewards and enhances relationships.” (Psychology Today, 2015)
Preach, Wendy, preach! We gotta give if we wanna get! When our mind is focused on the world around us rather than inward, we don’t have time to feel bad for ourselves and we climb out of toxic patterns.
What Cameron was experiencing wasn’t a rare phenomenon, Shit happens to us. A lot. And it makes us forget that we aren’t the only people on the planet and that the world doesn’t revolve around us (unless you’re Beyonce and then, well, bow down b**ches). Active listening is a DOPE way to strengthen our relationships, people want to talk about themselves and they want to be listened to. When we step outside of ourselves and involve ourselves in the lives of those around us, we become better friends and happier, more fulfilled people.

Anxiousness Of Teenagers
Adolescence is defined as a confusion period of life, according to there are changes in both terms of physical and mental which completely affect the ways teens behave. Furthermore, because people in this period start looking for self-actualization that most likely to cause an anxiety.

Teenagers’ anxiety about being adults is when teens start to realize that they can not post or express everything they wanted just like children. Therefore, they begin to be scared of being judged by others which both including from people they know and do not. During this period, adolescence initiates to have a question about who they are, what they needed in life, and what they wanted to do in the future or even nowadays.

Pressure from families and societies such as friends from school or an expectation of others are the primary reason for causing teens to an anxious. Parents are also facing the changes of their children like they have to admit that their little princes and princesses are completely growing up and will be flying out of the nest soon. According to the biological reasons from Russell Foster, a chairman of circadian neuroscience Brasenose College, there are the strange physical expressions from having the teen angst such as untidiness, moodiness, and self-consciousness. Furthermore, he also suggests that most of the teens perform better in the afternoon.

Teenagers’ anxiety is not all about the normal hormones that everyone has to deal with. I have seen the phrase describing being teens, “Being a teenager is swinging so high that the chain holding your swing starts twisting and turning and you’re soon enough, you’re twirling around yourself”. It is a fact that sometimes we do not know what we are supposed to do or why are we even here in a place that not even belong to us. These articles just simply indicate the point that it is about self-actualization, to find ones’ intellectual, creativity, and potential. “Body-clock” is something new as well, I am one of those young folks out there who wonder why teens have more energy at night and always sleepy during the day. The hormonal reasons seem to be essential factors for this period of age.
