Listening to our lord and saviour (andy robinson) read the bible (a stich in time) aloud while I fight through thousands of soliders (my thoughts) and get to my goal (sleep).

The book is available on the internet archive
were y'all aware that andrew robinson kept a diary written in character as garak to help him develop his acting. were you aware he turned it into a full length novel and published it. were you aware the entire "diary" is actually a series of letters each formatted as "my dear doctor,"

here's what i don't get about the message of the lilo and stitch remake... nani learning that she has to live for herself wouldn't be a bad thing, but in the original she already does that in the ending scenes? we see her going on dates with david by herself, and cobra, jumba and pleaksley are taking care of lilo and having movie nights.

Y'all say that you're tired of the live action slop and overabundance of sequels and you can't even go watch Elio in theaters. so like what is the message being sent exactly?
Everybody has a million and 1 excuses for how a live action animated movie is good despite being nothing like the orginal or being mediocre compared to the original. But god for bid a new animated movie not be a fucking masterpiece and even then......
Why exactly would Disney stop making live action remakes when only 2 have really flopped in theaters? (4 if you count sequels to Maleficient and Alice in Wonderland) and atleast 3 have made upwards of a billion dollars? Like people can bitch and moan about how Disney doesn't make original movies anymore and blah blah blah but they'll still make atleast 500 mil on their next Live action remake so why should they care?
Their last original animated movie that could even be considered kind of a success still flopped at the box office so like what exactly does anybody think is going to happen? What would be the incentive to make more movies like that? When only the pixar sequels make a billion and nobody liked Moana 2 but it still made a billion dollars so yeah this is where we are going to be for the forseable future cause I will bet hard cash that Zootopia 2 is going to break a billion as well.
disney is first and foremost a business and there is literally no concrete proof that the live-action remakes are a bad business model except for a bunch of people bitching on the internet. if they can just make them mediocre enough and no race swapping and music removal whatsoever (because yeah guess why Snow white and mulan flopped).
Anyway Elio is a good movie and everyone should go see it, it deserves not to be thrown in disney's junk drawer.

every single post i see about the lilo and stitch live action movie reinforces my opinion that we’re never escaping capitalism “guys dont watch it! i watched it and it supports colonialism!” yes yes very good i dont doubt it does, but you see the trouble there, right? you still watched it. disney still got your money. i have a very simple solution for a lot of these movies: just. stop watching them. like holy shit. you dont need a disney comfort whatever movie trust me.
im sorry to say it but disney is never not going to be colonialist and it’s never going to stop being a massively bloated greedy corporation so just stop engaging with it and if you really, *really* need to, find a smaller movie studio

Hopping on the Lilo and Stitch live action hate train cause I noticed something else that they botched, but haven't seen anyone bring it up.
Lilo adopted Stitch and now has the galactic counsel trying to forcibly remove him from her care and confine him with a bunch of other 'evil' experiments, because they do not believe Lilo is properly equipped to look after him. Sound familiar? Nani is an older sister turned sole parent/guardian of Lilo and has cps breathing down her neck to transfer her to the Foster system, because they are unsure if she is capable of properly caring for Lilo. The two of them being parallels of each other is actually super sweet and adds/reinforces themes, and ultimately deepens the bond between the two sisters.
Having Nani relinquish custody of lilo willing is a huge betrayal to the story itself, beyond just the meaning of ohana and opposing the plot. It's far too meticulously written to not be intentional, it's the only plot line in the movie, even though it was split into two storylines. Nani and Lilo aren't just connected by blood or love their stories were intertwined on a basic plot level. Ohana means cute and marketable family, and everyone else gets left behind. Because Nani isn't considered "important enough" or "marketable" they cut up her storyline and slapped a "woke" lable on it, destroying the story in the process.
Honestly, the og movie is actually incredible, and I think we are all able to properly appreciate it beyond just "aww cute" because we were given a version that stripped it down completely.
