@t4tadrienette tags BECAUSE I NEED TO DROP THE WHOLE ITALIAN DUB LORE
I’ve already explained some things in an older post of mine, but it was quite short so I might as well add some more stuff.
AND YES. There’s a lot to unpack… šŸ˜‚
I suspect the anime dub was based on the French version, although in an article I’ve read the dub director (Enrico Carabelli) said they translated from English [ various sources : x | x | x | x ].
Forget for a moment the fact that a bunch of teens sounds like a group of 30 year olds who have two mortgages on their back. They apparently have a Masters of Art in Liberal Studies with a focus on Italian Literature because they keep quoting poets like Dante or Giacomo Leopardi or Ugo Foscolo!
Okay, jokes aside, the writer that translated and did the dialogue writing adaptation (Stefano Cerioni) went for a more ā€œoriginalā€ approach that, if everything, made even more memorable and iconic the Classical Series. Hadn’t been for the dignified and courtly way the characters express themselves, I doubt it would have become so iconic. Still today, it's "cavalieri" and not "saints" for Italian fans.
To be fair, I need to add that most of these changes had been made because… they didn’t have a choice. When I said they had the script in English, I mean they had just SOME lines the characters were saying without any other context (on top of the missing lines, only a few episodes had the intro that explained what was going on). And most importantly, they had one day to translate and dub the episode because the next one it would have gone on-air. This also explains why in some occasions a line from an episode contradicts what was said in a previous one. Couldn’t they use the manga? Well, the first edition made by Granata Press was published after the anime was aired (July 1992 versus March 1990), there was no way to know where the plot was going!
In short to make up for the missed context they had to add something and that’s the reason for the literature quotes (erm. making stuff up). Were those additions faithful to the original? Not really, no. But the STYLE they had is UNSURPASSABLE: the acting alone gave such an emphasis that in the end it didn’t matter if what they were saying was correct or not. And this was thanks to the incredibly talented voice actors: despite the fact that the characters change voice actors quite a number of times during the series (ex. Aries Mu had throughout the whole animated series six different voice actors) or the same actor portraying different characters, what was missing was successfully supplemented by their skills.
Besides... since they are Knights and not Saints, all the talking like medieval knights actually makes sense here.
This is because of censorship, a violent cartoon could not be related to the Christian religion. It’s the same reason why the title ā€œPopeā€ was changed to ā€œHigh Priestā€ (Gran Sacerdote), because a villain could not be associated with the word ā€œPopeā€.
As in many anime or animated products from Japan from the 80s-90s, Italy generally changed the names to some more ā€œItalian sounding onesā€.
Often it was made to allow people to recognize the characters more easily (there was the common misconception of ā€œall cartoons are made for kidsā€, while some are actually for a more mature audience) and for merchandise reasons. As far as I’m aware, back in the days the animated series were imported thanks to some Toys Factory who wanted to sell dolls, action figures, games and other merchandise in Italy (for Saint Seiya, it was Giochi Preziosi). It was in fact easier for parents to remember names like Phoenix or Andromeda rather than Ikki or Shun!
There are a few ways to do it!
Saints are simply named after their constellations or their stars in Italian:
Shun is Andromeda, Shiryu is Sirio, Seiya is Pegasus etc.
Saints have their names changed in their constellation but in English: Aphrodite is Fish, Shura is Capricorn etc.
YES, some characters got more lucky than others. Shiryu gets to have his own name while Seiya has just the name of his Constellation. This becomes a bit weird if you consider that they are called like this even before obtaining their Cloth!
Exceptions also exist.
Aldebaran got the Italian name for his constellation (Toro). And very funny, Saga is known simply as Gemini, while Kanon keeps his name without any problem. I don’t know why.
Another way was to change them for assonance:
Aiolia becomes Ioria
Mu is now Mur
The last way is to simply change the name completely:
Aiolos is Micene (don’t ask)
Hyoga is Crystal (DON’T ASK)
Shaina is Tisifone
Marin becomes Castalia
Lizard Misty is checks notes… Eris…?
Most of them can only confuse people, especially if you started by reading the manga, which usually keeps the original names (except for some cases).
To be honest, I do like some of these name changes, such as Shaina: Tisiphone is one of the Erinyes, better known as the Furies, Goddesses of Vengeance in Ancient Greek mythology (considering her first appearances… yeah… it suits her very well). Oh, in Greek Mythology, this goddess fell in love with a mortal but was rejected, so her hair turned into a poisonous snake that bit and killed her.
I really liked the Italian Dub, although I am too young to be part of that generation that grew up watching the series on television! But, if you want my personal take, the Italian anime translation should be considered its own thing. I know that even in the original Japanese version the anime and the manga are quite different, but the Italian experience can only be seen for itself.
Saint Seiya, from a pure fandom/meta pov is just fascinating.
Most people have very little consideration for the source material. The lore is mainly builded on 8 specific spin offs -none canon. The show has so much inconsistency that you have to play pick and choose about practically anything. Ages and power systems are basically stickers on a notebook, misplaced and scraped off every new trimester. There are somehow fights on what is canon or not. One of the characters sole existence ledd to the introduction of the term ā€œyaoiā€ to the world. The girls in the manga are all 16 and terribly written. It’s considered as one of the most iconic shōnen ever. The older fandom is split on either the ones that accuse the new adaptations of ā€œturning the show wokeā€ or the ones that is like ā€œin retrospect they were all kind of gayā€. There is so much South American content about that saga it might rivaling the Japanese one. The French part may or may not be a cult for an obscure parody that is the backbone of the entire French anime parody game. The name ā€œknights of the zodiacā€ definitely comes from European fans trying to guess the og name. It also, funnily enough, makes more sense on the long term than Saint Seiya. Every 10-20 years the USA will make a weird remake that always flops. It was considered a kid show in the 80s, and is still in the collective unconscious of some countries. The author’s favorite part of the fandom is The Gays.
Everything about this serie is a mess from point A to point ω. I love it.

SHIPPING INFO
Answer the following for your muse so people know how shipping works on your blog.
Read more bc of the length!
WHAT IS YOUR OTP FOR YOUR CHARACTER?:
Castlevania: Richter/Alucard Saint Seiya: Aldebaran/Mu, Camus/Milo, Krishna/Shaka, Aphrodite/Deathmask
WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO WRITE WHEN IT COMES TO SHIPPING?:
My only real hard limits are incest (Aiolia/Aiolos, Saga/Kanon, Richter/any other Belmont) and minor/adult type of ships. Besides those, I have some specific few NOTPs that I'm just straight up, not interested in writing (Annette/Richter).
HOW LARGE DOES THE AGE GAP HAVE TO BE TO MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE?:
Large age gaps between adults? HELL YEAH, GIVE ME. The more the merrier for me, I don't mind it. What about teens in that 16-19 period? In my eyes this is in a grey area of sorts. I get this is like, High school level of new ppl coming in and dating students that are graduating from it. So, in a context like that, I wouldn't mind it too much, like it is not the end of the world for me. But I'd rather not do anything, coming close on the NSFW side of things. We could inferr it as a thing between them for plot progression/character development reasons, but actually write it? Nah, that's too much for me.
ARE YOU SELECTIVE WHEN SHIPPING?:
It heavily depends on whether or not we click as partners and if our muses have a chemistry as well. Shipping with me requires the person to stick for the long run, because I really enjoy delving into things. With that said, I've mellowed out A LOT, from way back in the day. As a result, I'm way more receptive to ships than ever! With that said, as a personal preference, I still hold onto my CanonxCanon bias. It's just overall easier for me to write.
HOW FAR DO STEAMY MOMENTS HAVE TO GO BEFORE THEY ARE CONSIDERED NS/FW?:
Anything in the slightest suggestive, quickly gets tagged as suggestive cw. Smut is meant to be done in my nsfw tumblr side blog, however. I’ve been prefering to delegate those kinds of threads, to Discord.
WHO ARE OTHER THE CHARACTERS YOU SHIP YOUR CHARACTER WITH?:
My shipping partners can be found in the muses’ respective about pages! But here are some of the lovely ships, I got out of rp so far: Shura/Deathmask (Discord), Milo/Camus, Kanon/Hades, Aldebaran/Mu (Discord).
DOES ONE HAVE TO ASK TO SHIP WITH YOU?:
OFC, if you don’t show interest in it, then how else are we supposed to plot and do our things?
HOW OFTEN DO YOU LIKE TO SHIP?:
It depends on the muse you’re asking this for, but generally speaking I’m always open and willing to ship! The only characters I'm not actively looking for ships RN are Shaka and Aiolos.
ARE YOU SHIP OBSESSED OR SHIP MORE-OR-LESS?:
NGL I tend to lowkey obsess I try not to, b u t I tend to slip up a few times here and there.
ARE YOU MULTISHIP?:
With the exception of Shaka and Aiolos, everyone else here IS multiship!
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE SHIP IN YOUR CURRENT FANDOM?:
Aldebaran/Mu my beloved, they are holding my braincells hostage.
FINALLY, HOW DOES ONE SHIP WITH YOU?:
We sit and talk, then hope for the best!

Saint Seiya Question Game
Let us play a little Question game. Remove my answers and puts yours under the questions.
Taken from: @aaravos-startouchelf
How did you get out/found to Saint Seiya?
I actually watched it as Knights of the Zodiac back when Toonami was showing it every Saturday night along with other great anime. That was before they took it off air in the middle of the Sanctuary Arc.
WhoĀ“s your favorite character and why? This is a very hard question for me because I have not seen the whole series include any of the spin offs and OVAs besides Lost Canvas. So I’ll list my favorites from each part.Ā  Saint Seiya Sanctuary: Cygnus Hyoga
Saint Seiya Asgard: Benetnasch Eta Mime Saint Seiya Poseidon: Siren Sorrento Saint Seiya Hades: Aries Mu Saint Seiya The Lost Canvas: Aries Shion and/or Unicorn Yato Saint Seiya Soul of Gold: Aries Mu
WhoĀ“s your absolute hate-character and why? Aw man, that’s tough! I would say the Specter Toad/Frog? Zelos. After seeing the scene where he hurt Camus when he couldn’t even fight back. I don’t like characters that kick people when they are already down.Ā
Shippings you like and why you ship them?
I have a lot... OTL
HyogaXShun: They are absolutely devoted to one another, sacrificing so much for the other. It shows how much they care about each other.
IkkiXHyoga: The dynamic seems interesting to me, mostly because they are almost polar opposites. But I think they would make a very unique couple.
SeiyaXShiryu: The bond between these two are so strong since the tournament. Always worrying about each other, being happy to see each other again. It’s super touching.
JabuXNachi: Okay, a real rare pair since we never get to see any of the other Bronze Saints again. But I think this pair would be interesting, mostly because Jabu needs someone else that would stand by him since he can’t be with Saori.Ā
SeiyaXShun: These two are very sweet to each other. Always having each others back, Shun always saving Seiya, not to mention Seiya always wanting to protect Shun.
SagaXMu: Okay, these two are kind a of rare pair. I don’t know what got me into the pairing, but I think Mu’s kind and gentle nature would be good for Saga to help him heal. Being forgiven by Mu and acknowledged as a fellow Gold Saint really helps Saga to heal from all those years he was suffering at the hands of his dark half.
ShakaXMu: Mostly for the elegant feel and the welcome company. Mu cries over all of his comrades, but he felt close to Shaka. So I think they are a very sweet couple.
AioliaXShaka: These two have the companionship dynamic, not to mention they seem to enjoy each other’s company. They would definitely be sparring partners, being careful not to almost have another 1000 day war.
SagaXCamus: A pairing I recently discovered, with it’s own unique feel. I feel these two would be the quiet companions, Camus trying to help Saga with his pain.Ā
DeathmaskXAphrodite: A real devilish pair. They are ones who understand each other, though they see things quite differently. Aphrodite would probably be the one to quell Deathmask when he’s angry.
AiolosXShura: I know this pairing is a little hard to see, but I imagine Shura looked up to Aiolos and regrets being the one who killed him. When he finally apologizes, Aiolos would have already forgiven him for everything.
MiloXCamus: The care with how Milo worries about Camus is so sweet, he even tries to convey his best friend’s feelings to Hyoga and that speaks volumes.Ā
FenrirXMime: I find this pairing to be very sweet, Fenrir enjoying Mime’s gentle presenceĀ as he plays for him. Fenrir would be very affectionate as he grows closer to Mime, even staying with him during very cold nights with his wolves. Poseidon/JulianXSorrento: Okay, partially a loyalty pairing and loving pairing. Julian would be very caring with Sorrento, while Poseidon may be a bit more possessive.Ā  BaianXIo: These two it’s a bit harder for me to say since I haven’t seen the Poseidon Arc yet, but they would be one of those cute pairings.Ā  RhadamanthysXKanon: A pure rivalry pairing, I feel they could learn a lot from one another. HadesXOrphee: Okay, a VERY rare pairing. I feel this one is possible though many may disagree with me. Honestly, I feel Orphee would become closer to Hades over the time he played for he’s played for him. Maybe even to fill the void of loneliness he feels after losing Eurydice.Ā  TenmaXAlone: Of course, these two are made for each other. So protective and loving to each other.Ā  TenmaXYato: A rivalry pairing, but I feel these two could get together after getting to know each other as they fighting together.Ā  RegulusXYato: They are best friends, though Regulus enjoys teasing Yato too much.Ā  DohkoXShion: A bond that goes beyond the hundreds of years they’ve lived. They share so much hardship, they deserve each other. ShionXAlbafica: A heartbreaking couple. Shion tries to pull Albafica out of his shell but loses him. It’s so sad they didn’t get more time together.Ā  KardiaXDegel: The amount of care for each other, that makes this pairing so nice. Degel taking care of Kardia when he’s sick, Kardia defending Degel on the battlefield shows a strong bond between them. I can’t think of any others right now. I will add them later if I do.
Shippings you donĀ“t like/hate and why you dislike them? PandoraXIkki: Um...no? Ikki never felt that way for her, not to mention it’s kinda creepy to me. ^^;;;; ANY ADULT/MINOR Pairings that are way too far apart.
Your favoriteĀ Scene?
So far my favorite scene is when Shun uses his Cosmos to save Hyoga in the Libra Temple in the Sanctuary Arc. It really shows how much Shun is willing to give his all to save those dearest to him.
Your favoriteĀ Attack:
Aurora Execution! Hyoga was my very first favorite, but seeing Camus use this move made me love the Ice Saints even more. It’s beautiful not to mention terrifying.
If you could decide for which god/goddess you fight, which one you prefer and why?
Wow, this is a hard question! There are so many but not many are even mentioned! I would have to choose...either Athena or Poseidon? I really can’t decide. ^^;
If you could choose a Cloth. Which you would prefer? I would want to have the Aries or Aquarius Cloths! I love their design and the power behind them!
From which country you“re from?
I am from America!Ā
Your favorite season / sequel:Ā  So far it’s the Sanctuary Arc! Since I haven’t watch the others yet!
Tag friends who want to play the game too (It can be played by anyone): @starlightofdream @siberianxbreaks

Note
hi friend, i would love to see some hcs for the gold saints (lc too if you want!) on how they would be if drunk, what types of drinks they would like and maybe some fun/silly things you can think of in that regard? love what you write!
Would you believe me if I told you I already have theĀ ā€œdrinkingā€ headcanons for them? I was messing around with various stuff for my fanfic series, and ended up whipping out a legitimate list for their favorite drinks (most of them after researching the most common drinks or most famous drinks of their country).
Also, obligatory major headcanon coming your way: I don’t think Saints can easily get drunk. They’re basically superhumans, so good luck in your drinking competition against them.Ā
Aries Mu He doesn’t drink alcohol and mostly avoids coffee and tea, but makes (moderate) exceptions if he’s out with friends. This also means no one has ever seen him drunk.Ā
Aries Shion (as a bonus) Even though he doesn’t drink anymore, a couple times when he was young he just saidĀ ā€œscrew itā€ and drank his mind out. As one witness (Dohko) still remembers, he would sit down and be sad for a while, and the next second he’d laugh and dance all around. He also liked to answer any questions Dohko might ask him, but luckily no one of his other fellow Goldies ever saw him.Ā
Taurus Aldebaran He often drinks a pint or two, but he mostly enjoys drinks with CachaƧa mixed in them (most popular spirit in Brazil) like the famous caipirinha. He tried it for the first time during his training in Brazil, and always loved it since then. Though, it’s extremely difficult to make him drunk. And when it happens, he’s just a happy drunk laughing at everything and making horrible jokes. He’s also known for switching back to his native language without realizing it.Ā
Gemini Saga Do you think this man can even get drunk anymore with the amount of alcohol he consumed during his tyranny? He doesn’t drink as much anymore, sure, but he’s definitely not going to refuse one more glass of wine. Between Greek, French and Italian wines of all kind, he’s singlehandedly supporting that piece of economy with no effort.Ā
Sea Dragon/Gemini Kanon He drinks more than his brother, but instead of Saga’s beloved wine he mostly sticks around Mythos and some other brands of local beer. He doesn’t refuse a bottle ofĀ Elgood’s Black Dog either (you can thank my fanfic for this, because Rhadamathys). Though, when he’s drunk, it’s almost unbearable to be around him. There’s no way of predicting if he’ll just be safe-to-be-around drunk or run-for-your-life-or-he’ll-punch-you drunk. His fellow Generals/Goldies always make sure to avoid giving him too much alcohol.Ā
Cancer Deathmask Opposite to what half the Sanctuary believes, he doesn’t drink all that much. He also appreciates his country enough to almost always drink only Italian brands. Homemade beer and wine coming from small Italian restaurants and farmhouses (I hope it’s the right term, I triple checked it) are definitely his favorites. He doesn’t get drunk very often, mostly just tipsy at best, but he’s fun to stay around.Ā
Leo Aiolia Not a big drinker, and he generally sticks to craft beer made at the Sanctuary. If he goes out, unless he’s with his brother or a close friend, he orders a cocktail or two. He only got drunk once, so much that Aiolos had to bring him back to his Temple carrying him bride-style. Never again.
Virgo Shaka He cannot drink alcohol at all, and also tries to avoid caffeinated soft drinks. He only drinks a bit of coffee before meditation, because it helps concentrating.Ā
Libra Dohko Probably one of the worst at the Sanctuary, a dedicated drinker that never refuses a pint of beer, a glass of wine, or any kind of cocktail. Also, give him liquor, doesn’t matter what it is, and he’ll be happy. He’s a happy drunk as well, and hanging around him is exhilarating. Though, too much and he’ll flirt non-stop with anyone. One time he got caught flirting with himself in a mirror. No one dared to tell him.Ā
Scorpio Milo Oh, you know he’s a hopeless drinker, just as much as Dohko. Drinking competitions? He’s down for it. A drinking game while reading a book/watching a movie/playing a videogame? Hell yeah he’s gonna do it. Casually drinking during the day? He’s the man. Getting him drunk is almost impossible, and it’s easy to catch him shamelessly flirting with someone (in my case, Camus). But be careful with Milo: if he ends up drinking too much, flirting is not an option anymore. He’ll just start to mull over his past and be sad, to the point of breaking down crying at the slightest inconvenience.
Sagittarius Aiolos One might think the most perfect man of the Sanctuary never drinks, right? Wrong. Give him any kind of European alcoholic beverages and you’ll see him gobbling down glasses and/or pints with no hesitation. But, and this is not surprising in the slightest, he never got drunk. Just slightly tipsy and too giddy for his own good.Ā
Capricorn Shura Although it might come as obvious and stereotypical, he loves Sangria. He’s not that big of a drinker, and he doesn’t fully stick to that one particular cocktail, but if he’s offered one what’s he gonna do? Refuse it? Nah. When he’s drunk he turns into the complete opposite of his normal self, and it’s hilarious. Memorable is the night Deathmask and Aphrodite had to get a very naked Shura down from Camus’ roof.Ā
Aquarius Camus The most hardcore drinker of all the Sanctuary, and the only one that neverĀ gets drunk no matter how much he gulps down. Wine? Sure, what is a bunch of bottles for him? Beer is nothing but a drop in the ocean that is his tolerance. Cocktails? A fun little addition to his habits. Straight liquor? Bring it on. He once drank enoughĀ Spirytus Rektyfikowany (his favorite) to kill a man and didn’t even flinch.Ā
Pisces Aphrodite He’s more of a casual drinker, mostly refusing alcohol and sticking to non-alcoholic drinks when he’s out. Though, he does have a good taste in wine, and has a glass or two if out for dinner or sometimes even more if he has guests at his Temple.

Eheheh yes!!! Yes!!!
Since you've posted the ✨lore✨I add here my impressions + some stuff I thought while reading the rambles since somehow my mind wandered off and started making theories. Some are questions for the worldbuilding bc I’m curious, some others are just chit chat.
Probably I need to update my knowledge a lil bit of the PokĆ©mon Universe, but this is a start (haven’t checked much for this franchise after the Sun and Moon games).
Since Sanctuary is a region does it mean that the marine world is also part of it or it’s a completely different plase (same question for the Underworld)?
Like while I was reading, I imagined it as some sort of ancient underwater ruins on the coast but still in this region or somewhere in a small archipelago not so far, the mainland (still underwater). So, the main PC has to move around and explore, before learning of its existence.
Same for the Hades Arc that is… well… the Underworld. My best guess would be to put it somewhere underground since at one point my mind remembered of the Underground City of Naples. To explain it, there’s the city but you can get in this great network of tunnels, cavities that sort of follow the city on the surface, some parts are actually living spaces while others are actually catacombs (edgy vibe). It's a city under the city.
I don't know if you've already some ideas for the Shoko Route, but the first thing that came in my mind was for Katya to do the Silver-esque rival. From what I can recall from the manga, she and other 2 silver saints were sent to capture Saori. Can be linked or not to the Sanctuary’s League Corruption problem (Katya works for the Sanc. Then has some regrets or change of heart and change sides) but if you ever need to have a Ikki for the route, here you go.
For the other Saintias, I don’t know, since they never had anything, rivalry related like Seiya’s group had in the Galaxian Wars Arc? Mostly bc Shoko’s main goal is to save her sister and not to fight against the fake Pope like it was for the Bronze Saints (yeah in the manga there’s also the Saga moment but there’s all the Ares plot so uhm I don’t know if you want to do something with that). Maybe Mii, who is Saori’s personal maid can be the first friendly-rival with the excuse of wanting to test Shoko’s skills and determination to serve Athena?
I don't know why I got so interested in the Shoko Route, probably bc I really really liked the manga.
Regarding the BIG EVIL! Organizations ft. Poseidon and Hades, there isn’t really a lot to say here but just to be sure, those two already existed at the ND time and have always been pointed as scapegoat to draw attention away from the corruption problem or it’s something made up by the Elite Four for the occasion?
I picture in my head that the administration for the Sanc. League has always been problematic (the chairman position is often empty, or it passes a lot of time between a leader and another one, so in the meantime there’s a substitute so more problems with it as well etc.) but after Saga’s involvement and activities the whole thing just got so much worse they really needed somebody to blame for the general instability.
I haven’t watched Omega yet so there’s not a lot I can say with. I know I should be adding my silly comment on it but y'all have to wait until I have seen with my two globes of sight the Series U_U
At this point I’ve wrote enough. Time to get to the random comments section of the wall text where I write the stuff my mind thought while reading.
MU HAS A SWABLU OMG AND HE CARRIES LOVE LETTERS OMG
Deathmask is a lil loser šŸ’– I also misread this part and thought actually owned the casino (which can help explain why some people connected to Saga’s got a place in the Elite4)?
Shaka’s as a professional broadcaster needs a fanart. Does he help Saga’s with hiding the real situation of the Sanc. League as well or he just shoves it off (like he doesn’t talk abt it or, at least in public shows to have a neutral/positive opinion of it)?
Old man yaoi
Last thing, I can guess (?) that each Saint lives in a different city in the Region and the PC has to go to all of them in a precise order (zodiac wise) to get the badges. Like, you can’t go in Shaka’s city or asking him to battle you without first having obtained Aiolia’s badge (?).
Okay, so uhm. That was my opinion I got after getting the ✨lore✨do what you want with it šŸ˜‚
Tumblr media
StS x Pokemon AU brainstorming stuff
Now I'll have to publicly share some flow of thoughts rambles, I've been accumulating for an year now.
Bless @ectogusher for listening to my rambles, and @doodlingwren for busting my door open to finally share what I got.
Excuse me as I talk in my notes as if these things were like a guide/romhack shit
All under read more bc it gets long c:
Here's the main skeleton of this whole deal-
Sanctuary = Its own region. No new fakemons, but it's a sizeable piece of land that has gathered up a wide variety of various species found across the globe. This worldwide thing also influences the type of trainers and people from all over the world going there. If we were to touch on the subject of game mechanics: There would be most of them (Mega evolutions, terastalise, Dynamax even Paradox pokemon forms) further showing how mysterious and mythical this region is.
PC - Seiya / Shoko Rivals - Seiya -> The other bronze boys / Shoko ->The other saintias
With Ikki being the Silver-esque type of rival, meanwhile Shiryu/Hyoga/Shun all follow the same line of friendly rival archetype. I still haven't thought that far on the Shoko route.
Other prominent NPCs:
Professor Shion: Former gym leader, he was once offered the champion title but refused it. Claiming that his passion was in research and studies, rather than the battlefield. Due to stepping down from battles, his friendship/relationship with Dohko has strained over time. Shion is the one who brought Mu to Sanctuary down the line.
Schoolkid Kiki: Catching Tutorial NPC. He can be usually found at the Pokemon School in Mu's city. He will inherit Mu's mantle down the line. The pokemon he uses in the tutorial is a Noibat;
League Chairwoman Saori Kido - With Julien Solo and Hades coming in as other seemingly "investors" on the project
Gym leaders: Most of these guys' aces aren't fully evolved, bc they chose to keep them like that. Yadda yadda friendship boosting their favorites.
Mu: Sinnoh - Dragon - Dragonair
Aldebaran: Hoenn - Ground - Rhydon
Saga/Kanon: Alola - Water - Gyarados (Saga)/Kingdra (Kanon)
Deathmask: Kalos - Dark - Murkrow
Aiolia: Sanctuary (native) - Electric - Electabuzz
Shaka: Kanto - Psychic - Alakazam
Dohko: Johto - Fighting - Mienshao
Milo: Unova - Bug - Volcarona
Elite fours:
Aiolos: Sanctuary - Fire - Charizard
Shura: Galar - Steel - Metagross
Camus: Sinnoh - Ice - ? (Either Froslass or Glaceon)
Aphrodite: Paldea - Poison - Roserade
Champion - ??? (the plot twist is that: the PC wouldn't fight the 3rd gym leader, bc Saga was pretending to be the champion. When he really wasn't chosen or appointed to that position)
Evil organisations: They definetely do exist, and they are obviously tied to the aforementioned Julien and Hades figures. But I still haven't thought that far.
Worldbuilding notes:
Muvians are similar to draconids (introduced in ORAS), a small tribe that originates from Sinnoh and has some deep connections and bonds to dragon types. Which means, any muvian = dragon type specialist or in the very least owns one. Muvians are also meant to have a foot in aura sensitivity (see characters like Lucario, Riley, etc.);
Sanctuary's League has a rampant corruption problem, as seen by what I mentioned about Saga. The two evil organisations are basically being pitched against one another, as smokescreen for the real problem. Their current champ is this sort of "elusive" figure. There hasn't been a proper champion in a long time. And yet, according to paperwork and the system, it states that the role is currently filled by someone. Anyone that isn't tied to Saga's schemes is left in the shadows, even those that allegedly should be the closest to him (Aiolos for SURE has no clue of what's going on. He's probably hiding or declared missing in action during the events, and only shows up when the time comes to challenge the E4).
There's a small timeline:
ND folks (a good few years into the past) -> Classic folks -> Omega folks (+20 years into the future)
In ND's setting we see how odd and hapharzadly the League was instated in the region. Which sets up the perfect grounds for Saga to exploit down the line;
Shion and Dohko are recently turned gym leader here. Mu comes onto the picture a good few years after ND's events; In a way, since Tenma would be the PC here and Alone his rival. It could be the Red vs Blue type of ordeal.
In Omega we'd see how the League is trying to remedy its reputation & amend for Saga's schemes, with an entirely new set of gym leaders and League members. + Former league members can still be found and fought in the post game, Silver/Gold style.
Individual notes:
Mu - Obligatory pokemon Aldemu food
Mu used to own a Gible and Alde once owned a Trapinch, at some point they traded pokemon. So now, Alde has a Garchomp in his personal team and Mu has a Flygon;
Mu's battle team against young trainers has a Swablu, which is used as a messenger to carry mail exchanges between him and Alde;
Mu LOVES pokemon dolls and has a huge collection of it. In the post-game: PC can find Mu and Alde on a date at the region's big mall, with them looking at a shop's display window. Mu gets mad at PC for ruining his date, but would give out his pokegear number;
Aldebaran -
Aldebaran gym's city is also where the pokemon day-care can be found. He may not run it, but he often helps out the elderly couple currently in charge of it;
In the post-game: After adding Mu's re-match call number. Alde can ba found on the route between his and Mu's towns, he was on his way to take a meal for him, and he also shares with PC that they bought the doll in the end
Saga/Kanon -
PC doesn't really get to fight for the 3rd gym badge. Rather, it's simply handed out by Kanon, who approaches them to talk about how the leader hasn't been seen in so long;
Saga's "fall from grace" comes from a humiliating match against Aiolos, originally fighting for the E4 member promotion which he lost. Despite the clear type advantage;
It's left implied that these two were meant to be gym leaders, the matches would have been double battles.
Deathmask -
DM gym's city houses a Game corner (Casino) and a contest hall. First sighting of an E4 member is Aphrodite, who introduces PC to them;
DM is a sore loser AND has no qualms with cheating against his challengers, if it means he gets to maintain his "streak". In the battle against PC he would use an overleveled Crawdaunt;
In the post-game: PC will get a hint from Shaka's radio talkshow mentioning DM's whereabouts, in the city's underground game corner;
DM's strength is everything philosophy = DM's entire personal team consists of very strong dark types with some form of 4x weakness;
DM is well in kahoots with Saga's schemes;
Aiolia - TBA I haven't thought anything for him c':
Shaka -
Shaka gym's city is meant to be the largest and the most advanced one (Saffron and Goldenrod cities style), it has the region's largest shop for expensive and important items. It also has a radio tower, which broadcasts various programs (professor talk, loterry ticket, poke flute, etc), Shaka hosts a talk show where he commentates on PC's progress, all while actively putting down/poking fun at his defeated colleagues. Under specific time slots, he will have a guest join him, which will be an exchange between the various league's members. But the most important one is where he will be joined by the region's "champion";
Shaka is a fan-favorite across several trainers in the region, with many NPCs commentating how much they love tuning in to hear him talk & so on;
Shaka is also well known for his psychci prowess (Sabrina style);
Shaka is also deeply involved in Saga's schemes;
Dohko -
Dohko gym's city also houses the pokƩathlon. With Dohko going undefeated in all the challenges, until PC comes along;
Post-game: to get Dohko's number for rematches. PC has to visit Shion after obtaining a certain number of species then, take a mail key item to Dohko. And THEN they get Dohko's number. it's a love letter, an invitation for some tea at noon
Milo - TBA I haven't thought anything for him c':
And "unfortunately", that's all I got x)
I suppose this is a lot better than trying to find all my notes scattered around all over the place. Hope it makes sense or that in the very least, it's fun to read through.
RN I focused on the classic folks bc it's the one I've been working and thinking of for the longest time.

The Inevitable StS Rewatch, Episodes 31-35
YES, I AM STILL MAD ABOUT SHUN!!!!!
- Even though Saori isn't a fighter, I'm glad she feels like part of the team in scenes like this! Shun telling her to watch over Seiya and her "understood" response, hnngggg.
- Recent events must be wild from Saga's POV (uncluttered with confused early filler and misunderstood lore.) There's no way for him to even be sure if Aiolos is really dead at this point, is there? I think you could easily swing a similar setup to the anime with Saga recently becoming paranoid and more brutal ever since the Galaxian Wars aired on TV, even taking out the "oh no everything changed when the pope's evil brother attacked!"
- It's not a big deal, but every time stuff like the steel ball-wielding Saint or the frisbee Saint pop up, I'm just like... WHAT HAPPENED TO ATHENA FORBIDDING WEAPONS, GUYS? has anyone told dohko that these jerks are stepping on his territory?
- hyouga and shun sure are married. in other news, water wet, sky blue, etc etc
- Hi again, Ikki! Nice to see you back and at least 80% more in character? Still a little too specifically protective of Saori but a big improvement from the last time you were here, at least!
- I MEAN, HANGING OFF EITHER ENDS OF A CHAIN ON A TREE BRANCH CAN BE A LEGIT DATE, TOO, HYOSHUN!
- "Oi, Shun! Oi!" hnnnngggggg, and then telling Shun to go up first, hnnnnggggg. swan may be a dumbass but he is a very sweet boyfriend
- Something about these two as a duo, even - or maybe even especially - lurking in the background together is so fucking charming. I think part of what makes the HyoShun feel oddly real even at this stage is Hyouga's weird insistence on saying Shun's name at every opportunity...? But they really do have this natural chemistry where they feel especially, quietly fond of each other.
- headless ikki is hilarious
- "Heh, if Shun and Hyouga can't survive getting thrown off a cliff on their own, they're losers anyway. Let's beat it" ah yes now there's the ikki i know and love!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- saori nooooooo!
- By the time she officially assumes her role at Sanctuary, Saori definitely hates herself. It's pretty painful seeing that process really get going in these past few eps.
Tumblr media
- Once again, as always, Hyouga comes across as really attentive to Shun. Something about the emphasis on the shot of Hyouga lifting his eyes to him before turning to Shun and addressing him directly when he didn't really need to. The charming thing about Hyouga is that yes, he puffs himself up, but he's also 100% earnest all the time - he doesn't feel self-conscious or defensive about his attentiveness or concern for Shun, either.
- Oh right, the Ikki backstory that for some reason they kicked to the present while cutting Shaka's role. That is a shame. This is one of those things in my grotesque Frankenstein-like personal Saint Seiya canon where the manga version does win out.
- I'M PRETTY SURE THE SETTING WITH ESMERALDA'S DEATH WAS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT IN THE ORIGINAL FLASHBACK...? I MEAN, OKAY, BUT...
- I feel like ordinarily I would be really annoyed by what a flat "I solely exist to make sad doe eyes and then be fridged" female character Esmeralda is, but the whole thing with "teehee, did you mistake me for your little brother again!" "Yeah, you look exactly like him!" "Teeheehee!" is so fucking weird it just drains me of all capacity to be potentially outraged...
- I ENJOY HYOUGA JUST CASUALLY INCLUDING HIMSELF AS ACCOMPANYING SHUN ON HIS IKKI INVESTIGATION LIKE IT'S THE MOST OBVIOUS THING.
Tumblr media
- Between this and his boyfriend's complex about his dead mom......... Shun sure has a hard life..........
- And now we're into Shiryuu's filler arc! Considering how weird the manga-anime relationship in StS is and how both fed into and revised each other, is it unreasonable to assume that Kurumada saw this set of episodes and went: "Tiger-themed character to contrast Shiryuu's dragon... Ohko... Ohko... Ohko........... d......ohko...? DOHKO......? WHOA YES NAILED IT"
- I do like the contrast in this episode between Shiryuu presenting a calm facade and "it'll be okay, any one of us would have done it" to the other Bronzies, but here in private he's having violent nightmares and obviously struggling with what's happened to him.
- I feel so sorry for Shunrei. Her body language and expressions here tell you a lot about the quiet frustration and anguish that she keeps pinned down under that gentle, supportive face. Hm, you and your future husband do have that in common, I suppose, Shunrei...
- It's still hard to see Shiryuu taking his frustrations out on Shunrei, though. Uncool, my dude.
- It's also hard to see Shunrei implicitly devaluing herself and "accepting" that her concern isn't enough to move Shiryuu on its own by bringing up Seiya and the others in order to motivate him - and then catching herself for letting an edge get into her voice.
Tumblr media
- Seiya, his weird early entry from the filler is over. Ikki gonna Ik. Best to just accept it, the way his younger brother mostly does...
- Hey, is this the first time Seiya belts out his "Saori-san"? An exciting occassion!
- I do think it's interesting and nice in the wider context that Saori comes to Ikki's defense here - both understanding that Saori is privately blaming herself for what happened to Shiryuu and Seiya, and knowing that Ikki is also incredibly damaged for things that she and her grandfather was responsible for. Ikki is fucked up and can't communicate well because of things Saori was complicit in, so yes, it's appropriate that she at least urge others to be understanding of him.
- kurumada flying bythe seat of his pants jokes aside ohko is a bad character sorry
- Seiya/Shiryuu fans must have been veeeeeery happy about this setup with Seiya searching for the magic water...
Tumblr media
- It must have taken a ton of courage and frustration for Shunrei to finally "snap" a bit and be honest about what she wants like this. Shunrei is in a painful position where she can't hate Sainthood and what it does to her loved ones, per se - because she was raised by Dohko and owes everything to Saints and has been basically indoctrinated into the SAINTS = NOBLE AND GOOD worldview as well - but it still tears her apart to see Shiryuu volunteer himself to get ripped to shreds, and hate himself and see himself as lesser if he can't do that. So she mostly just locks everything inside.
- I like her including "Seiya and the others will understand!" too, because it reflects her desperation and how much thought she’s quietly put into this.
- She's right, by the way, Shiryuu. You could be so happy with her. You are sort of unique amongst most of the Saints in that you really do have the capacity to find a good life outside of the Sainthood and be happy. RETIRE, GODDAMMIT. (Next Dimension made me a little bit upset, can you tell?)
- Considering Shunrei's courage in putting herself out there in a way she almost never dares to, it really sucks to see Shiryuu just totally reject her in a pretty cruel way. I get that he's hurting, but VERY uncool, man.
- And then Shunrei begging Dohko for help, and just getting "LOL THIS IS THE DESTINY OF SOMEONE WHO LIVES AS A SAINT!" Like, I think Shiryuu is a good guy, but really, Shunrei probably deserves a lot better than a Saint, period.
- And then Ohko and Shiryuu have a shounen fight where Shiryuu regains his self-confidence and Ohko finally grasps the meaning of true strength blah blah blah. Wow, Shunrei really was the most interesting part of this arc, huh?
- All the mumbling Dohko does in these eps about "I must return to my task" is weirdly hilarious to me, though. Like... what, did you take a break from watching the seal for a while? DID YOU LET RHADAMANTHYS SLIP OUT FROM UNDER THE WATERFALL TO OBSERVE THIS DUEL OR
- and then aiolos randomly decides that he wants to take a bath, trolling both graude and sanctuary alike. sure.jpg
Tumblr media
- Shiryuu, you stupid fuck. You absolute dumbass. You moron. You could be so, so, so happy. Goddammit, Shiryuu.
Tumblr media
- JESUS FUCKING CHRIST, MU
- KIKI IS FUCKING EIGHT YEARS OLD. you didn't leave him a note? did you leave him out food? i love the implication that mu disappeared because he's laying low since sanctuary's mooks are probably after him. YOU DIDN'T THINK IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO WARN KIKI ABOUT THIS?
- ESPECIALLY SINCE A SANCTUARY MOOK DOES ACTUALLY SHOW UP LOOKING FOR MU WHEN KIKI IS THERE AND SEIYA HAS TO SAVE HIM?
- and then we spent an entire filler episode watching seiya climb a mountain and punch birds.
- next episode: HE HAS ARRIVED AT LAST. IT'S MILO TIME MOTHERFUCKERS

Sometimes I get nice reviews on FF.net, and I got another one. I think some of the comments the person made are really thoughtful. It made me wonder a few things about my fanfic, its contrast with canon, etc. I want to add words to some of what has been said, first as a form of gratitude for every nice comment, but also in the hopes that others might find my insights interesting.
1) "The other Bronze Saints don't disappear after the Galaxian War, Sanctuary feels like an actual community […]"
Hopefully more people feel this way about my portrayals. One of the major issues with works like Saint Seiya is the vast amount of underused/ill-used characters. We have tons of these, mostly Silver and Bronze Saints. How I did June is already a sign that I want to better portray minor characters.
Please, I wish for others to take this for their stories too, wherever possible and desirable. The best way I found to achieve it is so find uses for those characters: because Sanctuary is a true society, all-out war was necessary to take down the Pope; Marin is Athena's contact on the inside; Jabu and the others are her allies in preparing a rebellion, but their known participation in the Galaxian Wars means they're a target for the Pope; Silver Saints like Crow and Auriga are a part of Sanctuary's intelligence, and appeared way earlier in the story than my readers have noticed, leading to the purge that initiates the war. People like them, Lizard, Centaurus, Cerberus, etc. are not evil, they are all Saints serving Athena, misled by lies. Their deaths are terrible things, and the Bronze Saints respect their corpses and Cloths like any other.
I understand that characters are not real people, but tools for the plot. I try to enrich the plot of SS by ensuring that characters are not oversimplified caricatures, and that they have some use whenever possible. I learned a lot about writing better stories by doing this.
2) "You've done so much work with the Gold Saints, not only clearing up inconsistencies from their canon portrayals, but also making them so much more interesting! Deathmask and Shaka stand out to me in particular; the former because his initial canon portrayal was a) one dimensional and b) really at odds with how he ended up being portrayed in later spinoffs, and the latter because his first appearance had so many personality differences from his later version that they feel like two different characters."
Like the anime, I omitted the manga's random visit that Shaka does in Deathqueen's. This would make his encounter with Ikki in Sanctuary less impactful, so I had to find a way to make up for it. I was always confused about what Kurumada wanted from Shaka, so I instead reinforced his Mahayana Buddhism. He's the first Gold Saint who, instead of using lethal force, incapacitates the Bronze Saints and waits for a word from Mu. Originally, the Six-Path Transmigration could kill someone; in my version, it can only ensnare someone indefinitely. There's tension between Shaka's non-violence and Ikki's bloody past.
That is both consistent and interesting, and the length of Shaka's chapter (the longest so far) is also a demonstration of how long the Bronze Saints were actually trapped with him. It was more than enough time for Hyoga's senses to heal.
These changes fit well to me, Shaka becoming a more stable character. Buddhist mendicants are like that: tranquil, reasonable, and distinguishable. You feel safe near them.
My Deathmask is the opposite, a potential menace. He's not an evil man and certainly serves Athena, though he's also an extreme pragmatist. Sure, he has some distasteful opinions, but that's a personality flaw. We all have flaws.
What was Deathmask in the original? He was an obstacle for the Bronze Saints. Shiryu's question is, "how can an evil man become a Gold Saint?" The canon's answer is that sometimes evil people achieve great power (this is fine, but repetitive due to Saga, etc.), whereas my fanfic's answer is that Deathmask isn't evil at all. Shiryu is mistaken.
In "A Strife of Silver", I made Athena say this: "We need Saints as sweet as Shun, and Saints as severe as [Shaina]." She believes both mellow and harsh Saints are necessary for a functioning Sanctuary. There is no ideal personality for a Saint, which means Deathmask is good and in his righteous role.
The worst part in my fanfic, however, is that Shaka is just a super strong dude. Deathmask, in the other hand, holds the fabric of existence together. I rewrote the Cancer Saint to be crucial to the Underworld, Sanctuary, and Heaven. If no one tends for the souls in the House of Cancer, reincarnations suffer a great toll.
This makes Deathmask less unidimensional, more useful, more interesting, and forces me to write him with depth. There's background plot that will slowly be unveiled over time for him, and his death will echo until the Heaven Arc.
3) "[…] then you have the early introduction of the other realms, which is phenomenally appreciated! Especially getting a brief glimpse of Olympus here; one of my biggest frustrations with Saint Seiya is that we still haven't gotten a proper Heaven Chapter, even with all the spinoffs still coming out."
I'd like to know, do you have a personal theory on why Kurumada and Toei never gave us that? I never understood it. I feel that there's a disconnect between what fans long for in a popular IP, and the risks most authors and companies are willing to take. Kurumada had a vision for Heaven Chapter, and that's Next Dimension. It's ok, just not what I wanted. Maybe I'm somewhat of a fatalist, but my fanfic has a beginning and an end, no loose threads. We will go from Japan to Heaven, and it will finish there. That's a big bet to make.
Since I know where I'm going, I know the limits of my universe, and I explore it once it's convenient or needed. The Underworld and Heaven had to appear now, because Deathmask affects them too greatly not to. This hints at more visits from Heaven over time. Actually, Pandora is subtly alluded to for the first time in the Dark Saints Arc, so I wonder if any readers noticed that. She's obviously going to be much more of a key character than in the original.
In all fairness, we have the benefit of hindsight, so we can tie up plot points neatly like that. It's a wonderful, privileged position to be in, not unlike, well… Netflix's scriptwriters. I preface this expressing genuine respect for their labor, despite disliking the results.
With that said, here's another reminder that this is my vision for what I wanted the Netflix show to be. It has all of our Western grittiness mixed in: questions of Becoming, morality, love, hate, violence, peace, and a constant exploration of death and its outcomes. Contrasting this with the X-Men: Saint Seiya we got from Netflix gives me a chuckle. I naively hoped for Netflix to give us all of those things we didn't get from Toei, but here I am, 260,000+ words into writing my vision.
If I had been hired by Netflix, I would've pressured executives and leads in the directions I laid down. Alright, let's make wild changes, make June a main character, focus on Jabu and friends some more, give Marin and Shaina space, double down on Hyoga and Shun, fix Deathmask, create new characters, show the Underworld and Heaven early on, turn Seika into someone else… but keep it Saint Seiya.

SHIPPING INFO
Answer the following for your muse so people know how shipping works on your blog.
Read more bc of the length!
WHAT IS YOUR OTP FOR YOUR CHARACTER?:
Aldemu, Deathmask/Aphrodite, Camus/Milo, Hades/Kanon and Saga/Shaka!
WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO WRITE WHEN IT COMES TO SHIPPING?:
It’s hard for me to say tbh, because in a way, I’m open to try almost anything. As I feel like, it can lead to some interesting stories. With that said, my straight up no's include incest (Richter/any other Belmont, Kanon/Saga, Aiolos/Aiolia) and minor/adult types of ships (I'm cool with aging up characters). Besides those, I also have a few NOTPs that also fall under a 'straight no' from me (Richter/Annette, Shaka/Mu and Rhadamanthys/Kanon).
HOW LARGE DOES THE AGE GAP HAVE TO BE TO MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE?:
Large age gaps between adults? HELL YEAH (Looking @ Saga/Shaka's 8 years old gap).
ARE YOU SELECTIVE WHEN SHIPPING?:
It heavily depends on whether or not we click as partners and if our muses have a chemistry as well. Shipping with me requires the person to stick for the long run, because I really enjoy delving/expanding it.
But so far I got (including both tumblr and discord): Mu, Aphrodite, Shura, Camus and Hades!
DOES ONE HAVE TO ASK TO SHIP WITH YOU?:
OFC, if you don’t show interest in it, then how else are we supposed to plot and do our things? Besides, it is always a good time to discuss/plot stuff!
HOW OFTEN DO YOU LIKE TO SHIP?:
It depends on the muse you’re asking this for, but generally speaking I’m always open and willing to ship! It just happens that with some of my muses, I'm generally looking to do other things (see: Shaka and Aiolos)
ARE YOU SHIP OBSESSED OR SHIP MORE-OR-LESS?:
NGL I tend to lowkey obsess I try not to, b u t I tend to slip up a few times here and there.
ARE YOU MULTISHIP?:
Ship policies can be found in each muse's about page. Aiolos and Shaka are singleship. All the others are multiship.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE SHIP IN YOUR CURRENT FANDOM?:
Sweats in currently running an aldemu event in the general fandom............................ Hades/Kanon, Aphro/DM, Shura/DM and Saga/Shaka hold v special places in my <3
FINALLY, HOW DOES ONE SHIP WITH YOU?:
We sit and talk, then hope for the best!

REPOST, DON'T REBLOG
WHAT’S YOUR OTP FOR YOUR MUSE? :
Richter/Alucard Aldebaran/Mu Milo/Camus DM/Aphrodite Saga/Shaka
HOW LARGE DOES THE AGE GAP HAVE TO BE TO MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE? :
I have no problem at all with large age gaps between adult muses! In fact, I quite like it. The more the merrier!
When it comes to age gaps between characters that are like 16-19? That's not the end of the world for me, because to me at least, it is the age range of High schoolers. Those starting and happen to date a student that's about to graduate. Despite that, I can't deny it is in some kind of grey area. so I'd rather not do it.
ARE YOU SELECTIVE WHEN SHIPPING? : Ā
I follow the chemistry between muses! With that said, I've mellowed out quite a lot, from a few years ago. In most cases I'm totally all ears for practically any ship possibility combo!
HOW FAR DO STEAMY MOMENTS HAVE TO GO BEFORE THEY’RE CONSIDERED NS/FW? :
Anything in the slightest bit suggestive gets the suggestive cw tag! I'll put anything NSFW under read more here. Smut threads take place in my smut only side-blog.
WHO ARE OTHER MUSES YOU SHIP YOUR MUSE WITH? :
Kanon & Hades with @hades-kami
Milo & Camus with @acquarius-saint
These are the ships that have been established here atm <3
On Discord I've got some other gems:
Shura/Deathmask Mu/Aldebaran Aphrodite/DM
ANY NOTPS? :
My straight up nos when it comes to shipping are:
Incest - Richter/any other Belmont, Kanon/Saga, Aiolos/Aiolia Minor/Adult - I'm open to the idea of aging up characters for a post-series context. This applies to, but isn't limited to: Bronze saints, some of the marina generals (Sorrento, Bian, Io and Isaak) and the Gods incarnations (Saori Kido, Julian Solo, etc.). My Aiolos hasn't been aged up. These NOTPs - Richter/Annette
DOES ONE HAVE TO ASK TO SHIP WITH YOU? :
Obviously yes, and this goes for any type of relationship not just romantic ones.Ā
Any and all ships require some kind of plotting done, this is just to make sure no plot is being recycled, no HCs are clashing with each other just to name a few.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU LIKE TO SHIP? :
I'm always on the look out for more ships to be added to my collection.
ARE YOU MULTISHIP? :
It depends on the muse.
Aiolos and Shaka: Singleship. Shipping isn't a priority for me, when it comes to them. That's why I'm limiting to a single one, after extensive plotting and writing has been done.
Richter, DM, Aldebaran, Milo and Kanon: Multishipping
ARE YOU SHIP-OBSESSED OR SHIP MORE-OR-LESS? :
My callout right here
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SHIP IN YOUR CURRENT FANDOM? :
Ald.emu, I'll die on this hill for them. Honorable mention goes to Krishna/Shaka.
FINALLY, HOW DOES ONE SHIP WITH YOU? :
TELL ME TELL ME TELL ME GIMME UR HONOR, I WILL HOUND U

|| RP HOOKS
Rp Hooks are scenarios With Your Muse and Helping Information about Your Muse for easier plotting between RP-Partners! Ā Original by @treasurechestrpmemes ! Ā  REPOST, DON'T REBLOG
Stolen from the dash! Feel free to steal it!
|| Who is your Muse? Write down their name and a quick description! Ā
// I've got 6 canon characters as muses here!
Saint Seiya (classic series)
Taurus Aldebaran - Gold saint Virgo Shaka - Gold saint Cancer Deathmask - Gold saint / Renegade spectre (Hades arc) Scorpio Milo - I also have his amazoness version available for interactions - Gold saint/amazoness Gemini/Sea dragon Kanon - Marina general / Gemini saint (Hades arc)
Castlevania (games)
Richter Belmont - Vampire hunter | Castle's master | clan's headmaster
|| Who knows your Muse? Which Groups are they connected with?
// Specifically mentioned = those that carry an important connection to them
Taurus Aldebaran - Aries Mu, Appendix Kiki, Pegasus Seiya, Libra Dohko Virgo Shaka - Leo Aiolia, Gemini Saga, Chrysaor Krishna, Saori Kido (Athena), Andromeda Shun, Phoenix Ikki Cancer Deathmask - Pisces Aphrodite, Gemini Saga, Capricorn Shura, Cancer Deathtoll, Dragon Shiryu Scorpio Milo - Aquarius Camus, Leo Aiolia, Cygnus Hyoga, Gemini Saga Gemini/Sea dragon Kanon - Marina Generals (Krishna, Sorento, Kasa, Isaak, Bian and Io), Julien Solo (Poseidon), Gemini Saga, Saori Kido (Athena) Richter Belmont - Maria Renard, Annette Renard, Dracula, Death, Shaft, Alucard,
|| Where can your Muse be found? In which Places are they usually found?
Taurus Aldebaran / Virgo Shaka / Cancer Deathmask / Scorpio Milo - Unless they have been specifically sent out on a mission, or if they have left to do some more training. Gold saints rarely leave the Sanctuary/their zodiac houses, which also serve the purpose of being their residences. Gemini/Sea dragon Kanon - For about 10-7 years Kanon is practically free, to come and go as he sees fit. Once he awakens and frees Poseidon's soul, that is. He can be found either in Poseidon's underwater temple, or within the common/normal world while he waits for the time to jump into action. Richter Belmont - The Belmont's lands that are located not too far from Wygol village, in Romania. Otherwise he can be found practically crossing all of the territory, on his hunt for any remaining Dracula's servants and creatures of the night.
|| What Scenarios would you like to play them in? Ā Write 2-5 Scenarios or Plotlines you wish for! Ā
I’m a sucker for slice of life, expanding on the relationships and things we didn’t get to see much in canon. So I’m always down for some chill intermission stuff, type of interactions between muses. Especially if it ties in, with some kind of important/key moment in overarching story;
I actually suck coming up with generic / open types of scenarios for RPs, bc I much prefer coming up with them, as we plot and I get to learn more about your muse!
|| What relationships and dynamics are you seeking in those RPs? Ā
// I'm very iffy in regards to any form of found family stuff, due to some really bad experiences with it in the past. I'll be very selective about it, and might back out if this is forced upon my muses.
I'm always open for discussing and playing rivalries/antagonizing dynamics, and platonic things. Romance is always based off the chemistry, between our muses. Although, I'll definetely be all ears if you approach me specifically for it!

Shipping Info for Multimuses!
Answer the following for your muse so people know how shipping works on your blog.
Repost DO NOT reblog!
WHAT IS YOUR OTP FOR YOUR CHARACTER?:
In no particular order:
Alucard/Richter Aphrodite/DM Mu/Aldebaran Camus/Milo
WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO WRITE WHEN IT COMES TO SHIPPING?:
// I think it's easier to ask what I won't do for shipping.
My straight up "no's" are incest (e.g.: Saga/Kanon) and any adult/minor ship. That's why I'm cool with aging up characters. Which leaves for last, any NOTP (Richter/Annette) I may have around.
HOW LARGE DOES THE AGE GAP HAVE TO BE TO MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE?:
// I have no problem at all with age gaps between adult muses, in fact I quite like it, it is one of my favorite ship tropes! Things however get muddier, if we are talking about like teens-soon to turn adults (like those 17 y/o paired up with a 19 years old). While I don't see too much of a problem there, I'd rather keep this as something that's only really mentioned for HC/character development reasons.
ARE YOU SELECTIVE WHEN SHIPPING?:
// Yes. Because I'm looking for chemistry between our muses, and we should bounce well as writing partners as well. I want our muses interactions to feel natural, and not like we are having to alter everything on them just to force a thread. With that said, I've mellowed out a lot, and it shouldn't take too much to convince me to ship with someone.
HOW FAR DO STEAMY MOMENTS HAVE TO GO BEFORE THEY ARE CONSIDERED NS/FW?:
// Anything in the slightest suggestive, quickly gets tagged and put under read more around here. For smut interactions/threads, I have a full on blog dedicated just to that. With that said, I’ve been preferring to write NSFW on my Discord. I feel like it’s easier to write there in many aspects.
WHO ARE OTHER THE CHARACTERS YOU SHIP YOUR CHARACTER WITH?:
// Chrysaor Krishna/Virgo Shaka, Saga/Milo, Shura/DM, Saga/DM. Kanon is in an odd spot. I really loved the idea of Julien/Sorento/Kanon, until I realized their ages LMAO. Poseidon's generals need to be aged up gdi.
DOES ONE HAVE TO ASK TO SHIP WITH YOU?:
// Yes, obviously. I don’t do instant shipping, even for those I'm already pretty biased to, I really need that plotting and interactions/threads to go alongside it.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU LIKE TO SHIP?:
// Depends on the muse you’re asking. Overall, I’d say I’m always down for discussing a new ship. Although, there are a handful of muses, that I just can’t feel a ship (see: Shaka and Kanon).
ARE YOU SHIP OBSESSED OR SHIP MORE-OR-LESS?:

Gold Saints Power Ranked
So, according to the conversation I had with my friends, that started the previous post about Shaka, this is the result. I am trying to be realistic here, as much as Saint Seiya can allow me. So, no pot bullshit and no miraculous victory for the sake of the show.
Only five of them are properly ranked. All the other ones fall under the same category, sort of.Ā  Mostly anime based, but there’s a few canon information from the manga as well. I wanted to be as thorough as possible.Ā
Under the cut so if you’re not interested you don’t need to scroll down like a madman. This is a really long post, and it contains all the stuff I’ve written over time plusĀ the conclusions I’ve got from talking about this with my friends.Ā
I will hopefully be back with the honest opinions maybe on Wednesday. It depends on what happens the day before.Ā
#1 Virgo Shaka
Tumblr media
ā€œThe man closest to godā€ If this alone doesn’t convince you that he’s the most powerful of the Gold Saints, remember what the premise of this character is.Ā  Eyes closed as to stockpile huge amounts of cosmo, almost a literal deity who has Buddha with him, feared by everyone at the Sanctuary, his ā€œdeathā€ shocked every single Saint in a five mile radius.Ā  He used the Athena Exclamation to awaken the Eight Sense and travel to the Underworld, instead of... you know, just being annihilated from existence thanks to the power of the Big Bang.Ā
He wasn’t the strongest Gold Saint in the past, being overpowered by Aiolos and the twins, but became the most powerful (especially in terms of cosmo) thanks to constant training and refining.Ā  Moreover, he has 13 years of training more that Aiolos, and possibly a good amount of training more than Saga (because come on, you really think he thought about becoming stronger during his tyranny?) and Kanon (was trapped in Cape Sounion for more that 5 minutes, I believe).
All of his techniques are terrifying. His illusions are straight-up dangerous, almost impossible to overcome, and he can get rid of a person’s five and/or six senses in the blink of an eye.Ā  Not even Saga, Camus and Shura, who knew him and were still as powerful as they were before dying, could escape from that.Ā
#2 Saga & Kanon
Tumblr media
Yes, they are more powerful than Aiolos. Why, you ask? Canonically, Saga is the strongest Gold Saint of his generation andĀ the most powerful Saint to have ever served Athena. Kanon is basically the same. They’re not the actualĀ strongest Saints just because it’s really illogical for them to be better than Shaka, and I’m not going 100% canon here, but somewhat 50/50 between canon and ā€œrealismā€.Ā  And...Ā  Well, they’re been alive for longer. For the same exact reason, by the Hades Chapter, Kanon is way stronger than Saga, even though they’ve been on the same level until Saga’s death during the Sanctuary Arc. There’s no way I’ll believe that Kanon didn’t get stronger during the time Saga was dead. It’s unrealistic.Ā
They both have incredible mind controlling power, a claim backed up by the Demon Emperor Fist (Saga successfully mind-controlled Aiolia with this, while Kanon did the same with both Lune and Rhadamanthys), and they're able to conjure extremely powerful illusions.Ā  They’re obviously not on Shaka’s level, because let’s not forget what happened to Saga during the Sactuary Arc: Shiryu, being blind at the time, easily defeated his illusions.Ā  And! Kanon was able to trick Saga when he came back as a Specter, even if he retaliated.Ā  The most dangerous technique they have clearly shows their true cosmo, and I’m not talking about the Galaxian Explosion. Sure, that’s capable of obliterating anything and anyone in its path, but it can be countered.Ā  No, I’m talking about their ability to send people in other dimensions.Ā  Saga’s Another Dimension and Kanon’s Golden Triangle (I think this is the English name, I might be wrong) are something to be afraid of. Not even the Thanos snap can compare to that. One second you’re chilling out in your dimension, the other you’re lost in nothingness for the rest of eternity.Ā
But, in the past, Aiolos was stronger than them. They only got so far, in the present day, because Aiolos died, thus allowing them to surpass him.Ā
Still on #2 Dohko
Tumblr media
To whoever thinks Dohko is not one of the most powerful Gold Saints of this generation... what the hell are you doing!? Seriously, though.Ā  Dohko survived his generation’s Holy War, 100% not out of luck, and is by far the mostĀ experienced of them all. Not only that, his cosmo is clearly out of this world. This man, misopethamenos (I had to do a double take on that one) or not, spent two hundred years without using a single drop of his cosmo.Ā  And believe me, even if his heart slowed down, I doubt his cosmo would have simply stopped growing. It was still two hundred years. Do you want me to believe he just stayed there, idly watching, without gaining anything from that much time passing? Yeah, no.Ā
Still don’t believe me? Saga himself, in the manga, said that he’s the strongest Saint.Ā  Not enough to overpower Shaka, obviously for the reasons stated above, but enough to retain his second place alongside the twins.Ā
#3 Aiolos
Tumblr media
Yes, your heard me right. Third place.Ā  Fair is fair. Aiolos was so powerful that Shion wanted him to be the next Pope. There is no denying that, and there is no denying that canonically he was stronger that Saga.Ā  But... you see the problem, right? Aiolos died in the past. Even if he was the strongest back then, he had no way of keeping his strength going.Ā  I still believe no one, aside from who already was as powerful as him, could be able to become stronger, so that’s the reason he gets third place.
By the time he came back in the Hades Chapter, I saw absolutely no reasons to believe it was still possible to describe him as the strongest of them all. Moreover, I saw no reasons to believe, would Aiolos be still alive, that he could claim the title of Pope as his own.Ā  Realistically speaking, by the end of the show, Aiolos is probably the one with the least experience (having died young this sentence sounds weird) and anyone would be a better choice than him.Ā  But we’re talking about cosmo, and his cosmo gets him the third place.Ā
#4 Mu
Tumblr media
Yep.Ā  Our beloved self-licensed blacksmith gets a spot among the most powerful Gold Saints of this generation.Ā  Why? First of all, his master was Shion. And if you have a good master, you are a good disciple.Ā  Second, he has the strongest psychic powers of his generation. Much like Shion, in fact. No one is better than him at psychokinesis, teleportation and telepathy, and this is backed up by the Sanctuary Arc.Ā  Remember the time Shaka asked for his help because he didn’t have enough power to teleport both himself and Ikki back to Athena’s Sanctuary? Because I do.Ā
He might not be that memorable, in fact even one of my friends claimed he isn’t that good, but I beg to differ.Ā  Mu is experienced, he had Shion to help him become a Gold Saint, he can repair any Cloth thanks to his skill, and he’s dangerous. Even if the classic series doesn’t give us the impression Mu could be a real threat, the Hades Chapter fixes everything.Ā  The Crystal Wall? Impenetrable. The Starlight Extinction? Oh boy, what a treat. In fact, this technique in particular tells you how versatile Mu’s ability with psychic power is, since he’s able to use it both defensively (aka when he teleported Seiya away from the battle) and offensively (aka when he teleported Deathmask and Aphrodite with the objective to kill them).Ā
Don’t tell me he can be underestimated. because he will kick your ass into outer space.Ā
#5 is all of the other ones, in no particular order, because I believe they are mostly on the same level. Well, that... and they haven’t been described asĀ ā€œthe strongestā€ in canon works.Ā
Milo
Tumblr media
Kind of obvious I would still start with him, but at this point you know who my favorite of this 12 idiots is.Ā  Milo’s power is a tricky one. At first it might not seem much, and I’ve been around people who described him as weak, but that’s inaccurate.Ā  First of all, I think many people forget how devastating Milo’s cosmo is, showed to us by the destruction of Andromeda Island, but this is not the point I’m making.Ā
Rather, I want to focus your attention on the Scarlet Needle.Ā  Which, admittedly, is a scary technique, to the point of Milo not using it if the opponent surrenders.Ā  We know that Gold Saints are not spotless heroes. They kill without thinking twice about it, they’re brutal, they never abandon a fight until someone dies. Taking this into account, the sheer fact that Milo refusesĀ to use the Scarlet Needle on someone who surrenders is enough to make you think about it. It is stated time and time again what the Scarlet Needle is and what it does. One single hit can make the victim suffer tremendous amounts of pain, even if it doesn’t kill. If we say that this technique mimics the way a scorpion’s poison works, it’s even worse because of the effect it could have on the body.Ā  Canonically, the Scarlet Needle causes potentially lethal blood loss on top of agonizing pain, and (but I’m not sure about this) could get rid of the five senses. Moreover, the victim can easily go crazy due to the amount of pain, and I’ve always believed a realistic effect would be an early body paralysis. He uses a technique called Restriction, after all.
Sure, if he doesn’t use Antares, if the victim doesn’t die of blood loss or succumbs to the pain, this technique can be survived. But I don’t think anyone less than a Gold Saint, a Marina General or a Judge could actually survive without Milo’s help. After all, we doĀ see Milo stopping the course of his technique with both Hyoga and Kanon.Ā  The reason why I don’t believe he’s stronger than the average Gold Saint of this generation (don’t forget that all of them are god-tier warriors in any case) is the random chance this technique bears. One hit cannot kill a strong opponent, and even if his entire fighting style is based on quick actions there’s no way for him to predict if every single needle will hit, and there’s no way for him to know if someone he hit with Antares would 100% die. In most cases the victim dies, but they have a slight chance of surviving.Ā
Camus
Tumblr media
Let’s immediately address the elephant in the room. Camus cannot reach the Absolute Zero.Ā  Now, while in my non-canonic works I go the realistic way and make him master this temperature, I will be keeping my logic ass down.Ā  The only thing that makes Camus different from the other Gold Saints is the fact that he uses his cosmo to stop the atoms, instead of manipulating them in other ways. In one word, cold.Ā  There’s nothing else special about him, and I will not be biased by the fact that I love this character.Ā  He is a cold person, he can appear insensitive and strict, but nothing about him tells me he is more powerful than the average Gold. He’s just different, not stronger.Ā
Obviously, I recognize how dangerous his Freezing Coffin is. If you get trapped in there, it’s over. It might not be deadly (even if it should definitely be, given a normal person is going to suffocate inside a solid block of ice), but it’s something to be afraid of.Ā  However, it has some important weaknesses. One, it’s almost useless against moving targets. It takes too long to create, so encapsulating a person that’s moving around is not happening. Two, anyone who is able to create a lower temperature while being inside it can get out. On a more realistic level, I believe the Freezing Coffin could be an almost instantaneous technique. Camus’ cosmo is definitely able to summon enough cold energy to create one without needing too much time (think about the Freezing Coffin in Saint Seiya Awakening), but! since he’s not actually able to be that fast... you see where I’m going with this.Ā
Aphrodite
Tumblr media
He has the same problem that made me put Milo in the average Gold Saints. I know that he’s dangerous, that his roses are not something to underestimate, but there’s a huge problem with random chance here.Ā  He isĀ said to be one of the strongest among the Saints, and people are terrified of him because of his fighting abilities and personality, but I don’t think he makes the cut to be on top simply because of the fact he mostly relies on items to channel his cosmo. Roses and vines can be effective up to a certain point, cosmo or not.Ā  Even his most powerful technique, the Bloody Rose, can be stopped much more easily than a blow fired with raw cosmo (that is a weird sentence and I know). It can be destroyed before it hits, and a person can successfully shield themselves. I know a Bloody Rose is powerful enough to pierce a Gold Cloth, but it can be stopped. In the end, the effective power of the rose lies in Aphrodite’s ability to use it, but if his opponent knows him or uses a good defensive technique... well, it won’t work.Ā  The vines are similar. Sure, they’re imbued with cosmo, but someone could be able to counteract them, and then what?Ā
Now, if Aphrodite had one particular technique, one that we’ve seen another Pisces Saint use... things would have been different. I would have believed with no question asked that he deserves to be above average.Ā  What technique am I talking about? Crimson Thorn. Albafica’s unique attack, that he can use thanks (ironically) to his poisonous blood.Ā  That technique doesn’t rely on external items. It doesn’t require roses, or vines, or anything else. Just the blood of the Saint. It’s dangerous because it’s almost impossible to counteract, I believe it to be extremely difficult to be aware of if you’re the opponent, and it’s lethal. That’s pure poison shot straight into your body, with no other media used to inject it.Ā  Unfortunately for Aphrodite (or luckily?) he cannot use it, so the random chance of his attacks is very much still there, hindering my ability to put him at the top.Ā
Deathmask
Tumblr media
Right off the bad, I deeply respect his psychic abilities. Being able to reach all the way to China with his cosmo is not an easy feat. This is similar to what Camus did to sink the ship even more, but ten times more powerful, since he actually took control of Shunrei’s body to make it levitate and fall.Ā  But is this enough to win him the top spot? Nope.
Of course, I’m not saying he’s not powerful. Deathmask is able to snatch the soul off of his opponent body and send it straight to theĀ  Yomotsu Hirasaka. That alone is scary. Imagine if there is a man, out there, capable of pointing his finger at you and BOOM you’re not in the realm of living anymore. Your body id still out there, but your soul is trapped with the souls of the dead, ready to die as well.Ā  The thing is... there’s nothing else about him. Sure, he can use his cosmo to travel between the two places, but we don’t know how powerful he really is.Ā  With us knowing just one technique, and with him not getting thatĀ much attention, I have no reasons to say he deserves to be on top.Ā  I have no evidence of him being more powerful than the average.Ā  There is a reason I liked Manigoldo more than him, after all.Ā
Aldebaran
Tumblr media
Ok. Aldebaran is a problem I didn’t account for when writing this.Ā  Technically, he is the strongest of them all. Physically, at least. He might not have that tremendous cosmo of his fellows in the top 5, but he is the most powerful in terms of physical strength.Ā  Because of this, I was conflicted about whether to put him, if above average or among average.Ā  In the end, I decided for the latter. Sure, Aldebaran is an amazing fighter, and could have easily defeated the Bronze Saints at his temple (as stated by Mu, he didn’t fight to his full potential), but physical strength is not the most important characteristic in a Saint. At least, not in a Gold Saint.Ā  There’s a lot of enemies in the Saint Seiya world that are not going to be defeated by using physical strength. And even though I fully believe the physical strength of a Saint can overpower another person’s cosmo, I don’t think that mainly relying on it it’s a successful strategy.Ā
Of course, betting everything on your cosmo is useless as well, and the Hades’ barrier is a perfect example of that, but there is a threshold you can cross with your cosmo (i.e. someone with a divine or almost divine cosmo would not have a single problem against this kind of defenses, realistically). With physical strength... eh, there’s a limit.Ā  Spiritual power can be enhanced infinitely, I don’t see anything preventing you from doing that other than your own mind, but physical strength is different. I don’t care how powerful you cosmo is, how divine your blood is. Your body has limits than cannot be crossed, even supernaturally speaking.Ā  You can refine your cosmo to the point of being able to break a planet in half, but there’s no way I’ll believe something like that is possible with physical strength, and that’s why Aldebaran is not above average.Ā  It’s amazing that he’s so different from anyone else, but relying on something that is, no doubt, limited... eh, it makes him less powerful.
Aiolia
Tumblr media
I can already fell you people coming for me for putting Aiolia among the average Saints. But honestly... can you blame me? I am aware of theĀ ā€œreincarnation of Achillesā€ thing, don’t worry. And I don’t deny in any way that he’s powerful and that he is undoubtedly a skilled fighter. But he doesn’t stand out that much. I asked some people to give me an opinion of him, and the majority of them said that Aiolia has to be really powerful since his master was Aiolos (like the thing between Mu and Shion), but I have my doubts.Ā  First, Aiolia only trained with his brother for a short time. Second, even though Aiolos was his master, I don’t think it’s accurate to use this as an assumption for Aiolia being more than average. This situation was not aĀ ā€œmaster chooses his discipleā€ thing, but aĀ ā€œhelping a little brother outā€ thing.Ā
Now, on a fighting skills level I think he isĀ above average. There’s no way people started talking about him as Achilles, otherwise. He has a fiery personality, I respect that.Ā  Though, his cosmo is notĀ that out of the ordinary. Sure, he has a shit ton of techniques, much like his brother, but I have no evidence supporting the fact that he could be more that what we see.Ā  I love that he has an healing cosmo, I cannot stress this out enough, and I love that people just tremble in fear because of his presence. But in terms of training he did nothing special, if anything all the gossip about him made it even more difficult to develop a cosmo similar to his brother’s. Like I said, I’m looking at the more logical path here, and it makes sense that his past would have taken away something from him.Ā
BUT I am absolutely not forgetting what Episode G told me. He can generate electricity with is cosmo, something that could kill gods. Now that’s something that would put him above average, for sure, if you don’t take everything else into account.Ā
Shura
Tumblr media
He was difficult for me to analyze in terms of power, because it’s never actually himĀ fighting with his raw cosmo, but it’s Excalibur. The sword resides in his arms and legs, so technically you could still say it’s him, but I though about it and concluded that yes, he is the one doing the fight, but without channeling his cosmo through Excalibur I don’t think he’d be that scary.Ā  This doesn’t make Shura less than any other Saints, let me be clear. He is the Capricorn Saint, and the Capricorn Saint always had Excalibur to begin with. His capabilities are measured by looking at how skilled he is with Excalibur, not with his raw cosmo.Ā  The reason why it was difficult for me to understand where to actually put him is the fact that Excalibur alone is a terrifying weapon (I know I keep using that word, but I’m honestly stressed out and my vocabulary is lost somewhere in my stress-free life).
As far as we know, every Capricorn Saint has a different level of skill and power regarding Excalibur. Capricorn Izo, for example, as Hyoga said had a stronger Excalibur than Shura. Capricorn El Cid, on the other hand, successfully used Excalibur to kill a minor god, even if aided by Sisyphus.Ā  Shura as well knows the art of this sacred sword by heart, and in Episode G he reached the power of the gods, but this thing is never highlighted enough for me to actually be able to give him a spot among the above average Gold Saints. The majority of the things we know about him don’t spend particular amounts of time praising his power, and from what I can see I don’t want to gift him a spot he probably doesn’t deserve.Ā  Even if I love him.

Honest Opinion - Pegasus Seiya (Hades)
Tumblr media
I try to drop as few f-bombs as possible in these posts, but my god Seiya makes me angry. I’m (not) sorry.Ā
Also, since this series has overall longer posts, I’m putting everything under the cut to make it less annoying for the people who aren’t interested.Ā
Overall score (character, not looks): still bad 1,5/10
Hades Chapter: Sanctuary
Tumblr media
Overall score: 2/10
If you’ve read what I wrote for him (according to the classic series) you know Seiya is probably my least favorite character of the whole show.Ā  They make him accomplish way too much, even if he doesn’t deserve it, he steals other characters’ merits, and he’s so much of a clichĆ© protagonist that everything hasĀ to revolve around him.Ā  I hate all of this.Ā  And guess what? In Hades, all of this is even worse. From start to finish, Seiya is so annoying every time he appeared on screen I wanted to yeet his fucking attitude out the window.Ā
I know I’m being particularly harsh on him because I don’t like this character at all, but objectively speaking, he was as much annoying as he could be.
Starting off, he interfered in the fight between Mu and the resurrected Saints. I’m not blaming him for not giving a damn about what Athena said, because at this point I’m just resigned to these Bronze(s) sticking their noses in the Golds business, but I will never be tired to say that Seiya should have kept away. By interfering in the fight, he got in Mu’s way. He got in the way of someone who was busy defending the Sanctuary, of someone who needed to concentrate on his opponents andĀ his surroundings.Ā  Basically, Seiya forced Mu to intervene against him, distracting the Gold Saint from what he was doing, and if the show was just a tad more logical that distraction alone would have had awful consequences.
He didn’t even learn his lesson. Instead of staying put (and this is something I accuse every Bronze Saint of), he saidĀ ā€œscrew it, I want to fightā€ and went back there. This you/ng man has no sense of self preservation, and has no understanding of things that are above him (again, this applies to all of the Bronzes who tried to interfere in this chapter, but Seiya has been doing this since the very beginning, so it’s kinda worse that he didn’t learn his lesson).Ā
Of course, against Myu he proved himself useless. Of fucking course. What did he expect, coming on top as he always does? It was so satisfying seeing him getting beaten up for his stupidity, because finallyĀ there’s no protagonist bullshit going on. One of the very few moments of peace.Ā
But fine, let’s move on. Let’s move on to the next bullshit. And I mean it.Ā  The Athena Exclamation face-off, as I like to call it. This is not inherently Seiya’s fault, because that’s just a bullshit the show itself pulled off, but... yeah, guess who suggested this.Ā  Guess who suggested that four Bronze Saints could stop not one, but two Atena Exclamations.Ā  You want me to believe Shun, Hyoga or Shiryu decided this? Yeah, no. They just went along with that, and boy was I disappointed. I’m not blaming the protagonist shenanigans for their intervention working, though. That was just the whole show throwing everything out the window. One Athena Exclamation has the force of the Big Bang, and what was happening was twoĀ of that. No way in hell anyoneĀ less than a god would have stopped those six from annihilating the entire planet Earth.Ā
And then, everyone’s happy and all ended wellĀ Athena died. Shion told them the truth about all the resurrected Specters and their mission, and cue Seiya being entrusted with the deux ex machina of the show once again (aka Athena’s Kamui).
I have to admit, I liked the part where he (and Shun) bid goodbye to Saga. I liked how they showed him reallyĀ care about him. This is an honestĀ opinion, after all. This doesn’t get rid of all the times he straight up didn’t care about other Saints’ safety (again, see Mu), but I appreciated it.Ā
Hades Chapter: Inferno
Tumblr media
Overall score: 0/10
Yes, I gave him a 0. He doesn’t deserve anything better.Ā  Since he stepped into the Underworld, Seiya became the most annoying and disrespectful he’s even been on this show. Not to mention he was dumb and blind all the fucking time.Ā
First of all, he straight up attacked Charon. Didn’t even think about it, justĀ ā€œPEGASUS RYUSEIKENā€ and that was it. Strike one. Hadn’t it been for Shun, he would have 1. died then and there or 2. never crossed the Acheron.Ā  Strike two happened when he (and Shun for being fair) trusted Charon to ferry both of them to the other side. The only one with a token was Shun, I screamed at the screen for five minutes that Seiya wasn’t going to make it.Ā  Surprise surprise, Charon tried to throw him off the ferry halfway through the river.Ā  Strike three was him deciding to fight against Charon on the other side of the river, which resulted in something that shouldn’t have happened. Seventh Sense or not, Seiya wouldn’t have won so easily against a Specter, especially judging by how much he sucked against Myu. Plot necessities aside, that decision alone showed Seiya’s carelessness and overconfidence.Ā
Moving on, the part I absolutely loved. Balrog Rune judging Seiya for the sins he committed, and me agreeing with every single thing (even though Shun was right and no one has no sins). Sure, most of it was Kanon’s doing, but I think Kanon is just as pissed off at Seiya as me, so it’s a win-win situation.Ā  The main reason I loved this part is, believe it or not, not the fact Seiya got annihilated, but the fact Seiya was faced by the truth. The fact Seiya looked back at all the awful stuff he did in the past, and faced the consequences.Ā  This scene alone won him the 0/10 score.Ā
I’m not going to concentrate on the part where they meet OrphĆ©e, because nothing noteworthy happened, but I will say Seiya’s reaction to everything in this part was appropriate. So... maybe he gets half a point, I don’t know.Ā
And now, what really made me feel good ad frustrated at the same time.Ā  Seiya getting the absolute shit getting kicked out of him in the most realistic depiction of a Bronze Saint against a Specter I’ve ever witnessed on this show.Ā  I will say: Seiya’s reaction to Shun being possessed by Hades was good. It was genuine confusion and fear, it was him wanting to understand what was going on and wanting to believe it wasn’t real. It was a realistic reaction to shock.Ā  This will not be earn him any points, because it’s legit the only time this happens, but I appreciated it nonetheless.Ā  I am not, in any way, approving the fact he managed to damage Rhadamanthys, because bullshit, but I approve how this burst of strength was similar to an adrenaline rush. Maybe it’s just my clever thinking, but I liked it.Ā
It’s just... what happened next started his protagonist bullshitā„¢ all over again. I’m not talking about him ticking Valentine, because that was the least he could have done considering he is a Saint and should be a tad smarter than any normal person. I’m talking about him refusing to let go of Athena’s Kamui in his miserable state andĀ in his unconscious state.Ā  And Athena giving him (and him only) enough strength to do whatever he needed to do to be a protagonist once more. She was there, she could have helped her Saints along, but nope. Seiya was more important, until the plot decided her intervention was needed elsewhere.Ā  This puts both of them at fault, but at the time I was so pissed Seiya had to be the first receiving her help I just cannot bring myself not to blame his very existence.Ā
To finish this chapter off, as soon as they reached the Wailing Wall, Seiya proceeded to be so fucking annoying I had to pause the show and take a walk around my room.Ā  What the fuck was he thinking about?! Shaka, the most powerful of the Gold Saints still alive, didn’t manage to make even a microscopic dent in that wall. But nooooooo, he feels so fucking powerful and entitled that of course the wall will break down under his punches.
I don’t fucking care you’re in distress about Athena being trapped with Hades, you shouldn’t even have though about doing that. No sense of self-preservation, and an annoying behavior that would have killed him. This is not what a Saint should be like.Ā  I get you’re terrified for your beloved deity, but that’s not what a Saint should do. I was mad at Shaka for trying to be stupid, and that was Shaka.Ā
But fine. The goodbye to the Gold Saints was good. Seiya put aside his protagonist issuesā„¢ and respected them fully.Ā  I have nothing to say about the Hyperdimension. Let’s move on before the veins on my forehead explode with anger.
Hades Chapter: Elysion
Tumblr media
Overall score: 1/10 for excessive protagonismā„¢
Oh, this is a treat. A very bad treat. An expired treat not even the trashcan wants.Ā  The only point he got into this whole chapter is thanks to his sister, because I appreciate and respect how much he loves Seika.Ā  All the rest, throw it away.
He was so fucking stupid here, to the point of straight up ignoring a deity and subsequently trying to fight that same deity. He kept being inappropriatelyĀ ā€œfunnyā€, like when the nymphs (were they called nymphs in English? i don’t know, I’m sorry) ran away in fear and disgust (thank you), and severely underestimated the danger he was in.Ā  No wonder he got his ass kicked into oblivion, I saw that coming since the beginning.Ā
I have to admit, the scene of his Divine Cloth finally appearing was cool. Objectively, it was well made.Ā  What bothered me was the build-up for that to happen, because the whole scene made me feel like Seiya was the only one who could get a Divine Cloth (even though I knew all the others would eventually follow). The wholeĀ ā€œfeeling Athena’s presence and friends inciting himā€ was too protagonist-driven for me to appreciate it. If something, in any show, is going to happen to everyone and not just to the protagonist, it doesn’t seem right to still put said protagonist at the center of it.Ā
I hate Seiya. I would have complained if he would have been the only one to get the Divine Cloth (favoritism aside). I’m biased against him.Ā  But, if I have to speak objectively and not subjectively, I would have enjoyed the build-up scene of everyone talking to Seiya way more if no one else would have gotten that sweet divine upgrade.Ā  It’s not appreciable anymore if you want everyone to be equal, but still refuse to make things actually equal.Ā  This might be something petty, but it bothers me. Here, and in any other piece of media where this kind of thing happens.Ā
I’m not calling protagonist bullshitā„¢ on him defeating Thanatos because, at least this time, there was an actual reason for Seiya to be powerful enough. Realistically, a Divine Cloth’s purpose is exactly that, and neither of the twins was expecting something so surprising to happen. So, for once, it’s fine.Ā
I cannot say I hated his way of confronting Hades, but I did dislike how disrespectful he acted. Even Athena refused to be offensive in his regards. I just don’t like people being disrespectful towards any deity in Saint Seiya (and in real life), so maybe it’s just that.Ā  The fight against Hades? Nothing memorable, Seiya was pretty much useless against a major deity, and that was accurate. Divine Cloth or not, that’s not a minor deity or a personification of something.Ā
As for the end... I saw it coming. Even the very first time I learned Seiya was willing to sacrifice himself, I saw it coming way earlier in the series.Ā  And you know what? As twisted at this might sound, I would have been happy to learn he died. For one single reason. It makes sense for him to die.Ā  He just got stabbed by Hades’ sword. By a divine artifact. He should have died as soon as that sword hit him, if not for the wound itself for the cosmo the weaponĀ definitelyĀ imbued with.Ā  When, some time later, I learned he didn’t die... well, I just saidĀ ā€œFuck this bullshitā€ and never appreciated this scene again.Ā
I might hate him, but it doesn’t fucking make sense that he survived, just for the sake of him being a protagonist. He should have died. Period. Even if he was the most perfect protagonist to have ever protagonist, even if he was my favorite character. He. Should. Have. Died.Ā
