[ad_1] Dhoni and Dube’s partnership helped CSK chase down the total. (PC: X.com) Chennai Super Kings’ middle order once again misfired. Shivam Dube (43) was struggling, with a strike rate of less than 100. With 56 runs required from the final five overs, MS Dhoni walked in at No. 7 and rolled back the years, scoring 26 not out off 11 deliveries to ease the pressure on Dube and help his team chase down the target of 167 in the final over, with three balls to spare, sealing a five-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants. Despite Rishabh Pant’s commendable 63, a strategic oversight proved costly. The LSG skipper did not utilise Ravi Bishnoi’s full quota of overs; Bishnoi was LSG’s most effective bowler, claiming 2 wickets for just 18 runs in his three-over spell. Debutant Shaik Rasheed made an impressive start for CSK, showcasing elegant wristy strokes en route to a composed 27. Partnering with Rachin Ravindra, the duo laid a solid foundation with a 52-run opening stand, steering CSK to 59 runs in the Powerplay. However, the momentum shifted when Aiden Markram dismissed Rachin, providing Lucknow Super Giants with a crucial breakthrough. In the subsequent over, Rahul Tripathi fell to Ravi Bishnoi, and Ravindra Jadeja, promoted up the order, couldn’t capitalise, succumbing to spin once again. Digvesh Rathi, after a brilliant three-over spell, was rewarded with the wicket of Vijay Shankar in his final over. Despite the early promise, CSK’s innings faltered in the middle overs, with LSG’s bowlers tightening the screws and picking up timely wickets. The chase became increasingly challenging as the required run rate climbed, and CSK’s batting line-up struggled to maintain momentum. Dhoni alleviated the pressure with early boundaries. Among LSG bowlers, Shardul Thakur, in particular, was under pressure and conceded too many extras, which ultimately aided CSK’s run chase. Pant’s fifty goes in vain Earlier, Khaleel Ahmed struck early with the new ball, as he often has done in this season, removing Markram in the very first over. From the other end, Anshul Kamboj made an impact by dismissing the in-form Nicholas Pooran, the Orange Cap holder, for just 8, courtesy of a sharp review by Dhoni. With two wickets down quickly, LSG found themselves under pressure. Pant walked in and began the rebuilding process, along with Mitchell Marsh. The pair added 50 runs for the third wicket, but Marsh never quite found his rhythm and eventually fell to Jadeja. Ayush Badoni was promoted ahead of David Miller and looked to attack Matheesha Pathirana, aiming to put CSK on the defensive. But his aggression got the better of him, as he perished trying to take on Jadeja. While Jamie Overton leaked runs, Noor Ahmad tightened the screws with a tidy spell. He even created a chance to dismiss Pant, but Dhoni couldn’t hold on. After Badoni’s dismissal, Pant upped the ante, taking advantage of the dew which made life increasingly difficult for the bowlers. Pant brought up his first fifty of the season, and a crucial 53-run partnership with Abdul Samad propelled LSG to 166. The final five overs yielded 57 runs, aided by several extras, as CSK bowlers struggled to grip the ball in the wet conditions. Ujjain lit up, 11 lakh 71 thousand 78 diyas were lit, name registered in Guinness Book of World Records
Ajendra Trivedi's report from Ujjain
Ujjain: Today proved to be a day of pride for the city. The people of Ujjain have set a new record by lighting 11 lakh 71 thousand 78 diyas together at Ramghat, Datta Akhara, Narsingh Ghat, Guru Nanak Ghat, Sunhari Ghat, breaking the record of 9 lakh 41 thousand lamp lighting made in Ayodhya last November. .
On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan started the Shiv Jyoti Arpan program by lighting 15 diyas brought with him from Bhopal at Ramghat along with wife Smt. Sadhna Singh Chouhan. The Chief Minister said that every year Shivratri will be celebrated in the same way in Ujjain.
Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said on this occasion that due to the grace of Mahakal Maharaj and the devotion, reverence and penance of the general public, he has got the privilege of setting a unique record on Mahashivratri today. The Chief Minister said that Lord Mahakal may shower blessings on the city of Ujjain, may all be happy, may all be healthy and may all be well-being. The Chief Minister said that our successful Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is involved in building a prosperous, prosperous and powerful nation. He said that the Prime Minister is successfully conducting Mission Ganga Abhiyan to rescue the stranded Indians in Ukraine.
Ujjain's birthday will be celebrated on Gudi Padwa (Varsha Pratipada)
Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that we bow at the feet of Lord Mahakal. Devadhidev Mahakal is such a god, in whose eyes there is no small or big. Lord Ashutosh, the innocent steward, is pleased only after receiving the gift of Bilva leaves. They do not want fifty-six bhog. They are happy only with cannabis. The Chief Minister said that I want to appeal to the people of the state that the way Lord Shankar drank poison, fought to save the world and was called Neelkanth, in the same way we should think how to sacrifice for the service of others. He appealed to the common man to take education from the naive. Those who have more than they need, give to those who need them. Lord Shiva burns the ashes of the cremation ground and thus he says that the body of all of us is mortal. He said that I thank the people of Ujjain from the heart, who did an unprecedented work today. The Chief Minister said that the birthday of Ujjain city would be celebrated on Gudi Padwa (Varsha Pratipada). The Chief Minister said that not only Avantika but every village and every city of the state would have its own birthday.
In the Shiv Jyoti Arpan program, the work of lighting the lamp at Ramghat started at 6.42 pm today. 11 lakh 71 thousand 78 lamps were lit simultaneously. At 6.47, the lighting of the Ghats was switched off and the Shipra beach was bathed by the light of the lamps. The counting of lamp lighting was started by the representative of Guinness Book of World Records at 6.53 pm and after some time it was announced by Mr. Nischal Barot of Guinness Book that the city of Ujjain broke Ayodhya's record and broke the new record. If it has been established, then there was a wave of happiness among the lakhs of people present at the ghats of Shipra. Right after that there was a lot of fireworks.
After lighting the lamp, Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, his wife and other guests took a boat ride in Shipra and witnessed the unique shade of the lamps. The Chief Minister's wife Smt. Sadhna Singh Chouhan, Culture and Tourism Minister Ms. Usha Thakur, in-charge and Finance and Commerce Minister Mr. Jagdish Deora, Higher Education Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, MP Mr. Anil Firojia, MLA Mr. Paras Jain, MLA Mr. Bahadur Singh attended the Chief Minister's program. Chouhan, Chairman of Mela Authority Mr. Makhan Singh, Collector Mr. Ashish Singh, Superintendent of Police Mr. Satyendra Kumar Shukla, Municipal Commissioner Mr. Anshul Gupta, Smart City CEO Mr. Ashish Pathak, former MP Prof. Chintamani Malviya, former MLA Mr. Satish Malviya, Mr. Vivek Joshi, Shri Jagdish Agrawal, Shri Anil Jain Kaluhera, Shri Vishal Rajouria, Shri Sanjay Agarwal, Shri Jagdish Panchal, Shri Iqbal Singh Gandhi and other dignitaries were present. [ad_1] Mumbai vs Haryana at the Ranji Trophy at Eden Gardens (PC: BCCI Domestic/X) By Atreyo Mukhopadhyay in Kolkata The Ranji Trophy quarter-final between Mumbai and Haryana remains evenly poised after Day 2. In reply to Mumbai’s 315, Haryana reached 263/5. With three days to go, the 42-time champions will aim to keep the deficit to a minimum or even take the lead, while the underdogs will look to extend their first innings advantage. The highlight of the day at Eden Gardens was a flawless century by Ankit Kumar. The Haryana skipper anchored the innings with a knock of 136 off 206 balls, his second century of the season. The right-hander shared an 87-run opening stand with Lakshya Dalal (34) and added 81 runs for the second wicket with Yash Dalal (36). After rescuing Mumbai with the bat, Shams Mulani and Tanush Kotian returned to trouble Haryana with the ball. The left-arm spinner and the off-spinner took two wickets each, preventing the opposition from gaining control. Each time Haryana seemed to be edging ahead, the spin duo struck. Mulani’s late dismissal of Ankit was a major blow to Haryana’s hopes. For the Latest Sports News: Click Here Mumbai vs Haryana at Eden Gardens (PC: BCCI Domestic/X) Earlier, Mumbai failed to capitalise on the new ball as Shardul Thakur and Mohit Awasthi struggled with their lines. Thakur, despite having four catchers in the slip-gully region, bowled incoming deliveries on an off-middle line to the right-handers. Later, Awasthi bowled outside off-stump despite having two catchers positioned in front of square on the leg side. Left-armer Royston Dias was more disciplined but was unable to make the batters play as often as his captain would have liked. Kotian, who had made 97 and shared a 165-run eighth-wicket stand with Mulani, turned the game in the final session with two wickets. Switching to around the wicket after two overs, he trapped Yash leg-before and later dismissed Nishant Sindhu, who dragged an attempted cut onto his stumps. Mulani struck in between, removing Himanshu Rana before taking the key wicket of Ankit. The centurion, who had survived a DRS call the previous delivery, edged an attempted drive to slip. Until then, he had looked solid, apart from a brief phase when Shardul bowled short at him with a packed leg-side field. Brief scores: Mumbai 315 (Tanush Kotian 97, Shams Mulani 91, Anshul Kamboj 3/71, Sumit Kumar 3/81) vs Haryana 263/5 (Ankit Kumar 136). Mumbai Indians Pacer Rasikh Salam banned for two years for submitting faulty birth certificate

NEW DELHI: A faulty birth certificate has paved way for the banishment of cricketer Rasikh Salam from the India Under-19 squad as BCCI handed a two-year ban to the promising young talent on Wednesday. The BCCI has penalised Salam by withdrawing the Jammu and Kashmir fast bowler's selection from the India U-19 squad for the upcoming tour to England. The Indian U-19 team is scheduled to play an ODI series kickstarting from July 21. In a press release, the BCCI also announced the replacement of Salam for the England tour. "Rasikh Salam has been banned by the BCCI for two years following a discrepancy, submission of faulty birth certificate to BCCI," the board said in a release. An exciting young prospect, Salam debuted in first-class cricket when he represented Jammu Kashmir against Guwahati last year. Salam had seven scalps and scored 45 runs in his first two first-class cricket matches. Salam's stocks spiked when he played for the Mumbai Indians in the recently concluded edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Salam was only the second cricketer from Jammu and Kashmir to feature in India's cash-rich league. Salam had played for Rohit Sharma-led side against Delhi Capitals in the IPL. The teenage sensation also went on to become the youngest cricketer (aged 17) to represent the Mumbai Indians. He is second after Parvez Rasool to feature in the IPL. Rasool played for Pune Warriors and Sunrisers Hyderabad during his prime. "We have two administrators now and if such an episode happens despite their presence, it is indeed sad. They should be keeping a tab to ensure that players don't fudge their age as it is a sin and also deprives other youngsters of the opportunity to shine," a former Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) member was quoted as saying. The revised U19 squad is as follows: Priyam Garg (C), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Thakur Tilak Verma, Divyansh Saxena, Shaswat Rawat, Dhruv Chand Jurel (WK), Shubhang Hegde, Ravi Bishnoi, Vidyadhar Patil, Sushant Mishra, Prabhat Maurya, Sameer Rizvi, Pragnesh Kanpillewar, Kamran Iqbal, Priyesh Patel (WK), Karan Lal, Purnank Tyagi, Anshul Khamboj. The Health Purse (Sehat Ka Batua) - A unique CSR initiative for self-diagnosis of breast cancer

An Indian multinational car manufacturing company Mahindra Rise has taken an initiative to create awareness amongst women in rural India against the Breast Cancer disease through campaign 'The Health Purse (Sehat Ka Batua)'. #RiseForGood Problem The incidence of breast cancer is on the rise in rural India but women are unaware of simple self-examination steps that can detect breast cancer early. These women live in media-dark areas, so conventional media doesn’t reach them. Moreover, culturally these women are not open about such issues. Could we remind them in a way that is discreet and personal, so that checking themselves becomes a habit? Idea These women have a unique practice – they keep their purses in their blouses to protect their money. Can this habit also protect them from breast cancer? We designed purses with illustrative visuals of women checking themselves – which served as a reminder medium to perform the simple breast self-examination steps given inside. Implementation The purses were distributed during health awareness drives in Madkepada, Belwadi, Kinipada, Katkariwadi, Sutarpada, Warkhanda among other villages in Maharashtra. Women were taught how to perform a breast self-examination at home, before giving them the purses that serve as a reminder. The initiative will be scaled up to reach even more women in media-dark parts of the country.

[ad_1] Mumbai vs Haryana at the Eden Gardens “We were not disheartened. We knew we could fight back,” said Shams Mulani at the end of the first day of play in the Ranji Trophy quarter-final between Mumbai and Haryana at Eden Gardens. The all-rounder had a point. For the umpteenth time in the recent past, Mumbai recovered from a collapse thanks to their all-rounders. From 25/4 and 113/7, they ended the day at 278/8. Mulani fell towards the end after making 91, but not before sharing an eighth-wicket stand worth 165 with Tanush Kotian, who remained unbeaten on 85. It’s a five-day game and a lot of cricket remains to be played on a surface offering seam movement in the first hour or so, given the 9am start. However, it can be said that this partnership can turn out to be the defining one of this match. The ball jagged around in the initial stages on a surface decent for batting otherwise. Haryana’s pace sensation Anshul Kamboj uprooted the middle-stump of Mumbai’s Ayush Mhatre with the first ball the match. Three more batters —Akash Anand, Siddhesh Lad and Suryakumar Yadav — had their stumps shattered soon after. By the eighth over, Mumbai were four down. Kamboj and his new-ball partner Sumit Kumar bowled the ideal lengths to keep the batters guessing. It was relentless accuracy from both ends. There was hardly any loose ball and the bowlers forced the batters into mistakes. Kamboj was the bowler of the day, for making the new ball move both ways and showing a big heart by bowling long spells. A fifth-wicket stand of 40 between skipper Ajinkya Rahane and Shivam Dube seemed to have revived Mumbai. Dube was prepared to take the attack to the opposition, but fell when he chased a wide one to be caught at a wide second slip. Rahane was the more assured of the two and played some fluent drives. Kamboj made him play one just outside off and moving away late. At lunch, it was 101/6 and this became 113/7 when Shardul Thakur left soon into the second session. “This was not the first time that we were six or seven down without too many runs on the board,” said Mulani, the left-handed all-rounder. “We didn’t lose composure. Our captain told us that the situation wasn’t good, but we could still stage a recovery. We also had this belief, having done it on many occasions in the past. We knew we could be back in this and that’s what we did.” Brief scores: Mumbai 278/8 (Shams Mulani 91, Taniush Kotian 85 bating, Anshul Kamboj 3/58) vs Haryana. Nair at it again for Vidarbha In Nagpur, Vidarbha and Tamil Nadu were Even Stevens. Karun Nair made an unbeaten 100 and lifted Vidarbha from a shaky 167/5 to 264/6 at stumps. Nair, who was in scintillating form in the Vijay Hazare Trophy one-dayers, shared a fourth-wicket stand of 98 with Danish Malewar, who made 75. In a spin-heavy Tamil Nadu attack, Vijay Shankar’s medium-pace fetched 2/50. Brief scores: Vidarbha 264/6 (Karun Nair 100 batting, Danish Malewar 75) vs Tamil Nadu. Nidheesh hands Kerala the edge In Pune, Kerala medium-pacer MD Nidheesh took 5/56 to hand his team the advantage against Jammu & Kashmir. None of the batters crossed fifty as J&K ended the day at a shaky 228/8. Kanhaiya Wadhwan made 48 and Lone Nasir 44. Brief scores: J&K 228/8 (Kanhaiya Wadhwan 48, Lone Nasir 44, MD Nidheesh 5/56) vs Kerala. Pujara fails as Gujarat take Day 1 honours In Rajkot, Gujarat reached a strong position by dismissing Saurashtra for 216 and finishing the day at 21 without loss. Saurashtra lost the plot after a decent start and slipped from 127/2. Chirag Jani, who made 69, was lone man to cross fifty. Cheteshwar Pujara was out for 26. Brief scores: Saurashtra 216 (Chirag Jani 69, Chintan Gaja 4/48). Gujarat 21/0.
