Okay, wow, uhm-

This is my rant about Eclipse x Solar x Nexus i keep saying ill do. Sooo- yeah. If you don't like it, just scroll. Or block me i don't give a shit- im just ranting about what I like *shrug* (btw this is 95% for/about my tol au, so-)

Cw i do mention abuse a few times, because of Solar's Moon, dark sun, etc.

God i love these three so much. There's just so much potential, both angst and fluff (and a bit of smut but that stays in my head that is NOT going on my blog)

Like Solar and Nexus are both such needs and idiots. They both stay up late working, and insist the other one goes to bed (Eclipse ends up having to drag them both to bed).

They love working on projects together. People arnt usually allowed int he workshop when their working together, because if they have each other they don't need anyone else to help or anything- but they let Eclipse in once, and he got to see how they danced around each other and worked together perfectly.

They're all nerds who love science and mechanics tbh, but they all like it in different ways. Solar likes the hard work, the mindlessly fixing things. He liked the manual labour, the more mechanics of it. Nexus loved the science. He loves asking questions and learning knew things. He loves questioning things and people. He likes building and creating and testing out code. Eclipse likes the results. He doesn't particularly enjoy coding and building, it makes him frustrated, but he loves the results. He likes having a job well done. And getting to enjoy whatever the product is, whether its a computer or a basic machine.

Eclipse and Nexus can also understand each other. They can understand the expectation of who you're supposed to be. To be a remake of someone dead, but not really being them. Yet everyone expects you too. They've spent long nights sharing a smoke and ranting about how unfair it is. About how they weren't v1 Eclipse, or Moon. That they were themselves, and it wasn't fair people pressured them into being their predecessors.

Solar and Eclipse can understand what its like to be an eclipse. To come into this world with Moons hating you. To be called vile, to have a Moon laugh in your face. They may not have always liked each other, but they understand each other, its one of the reasons they became close.

Nexus can also help them both heal from their trauma of Moons. Plus, he isn't really Moon. Sure, he is a moon, coming from he dame basic code. But he isn't an old Moon. He's kinder, he doesn't blow up as easily. Its reassuring to them both, being treated so kindly to someone who pretty much abused them both (Eclipse didn't deserve how Old moon treated him when he came into this world.)

Eclipse and Nexus also know what its like to be left behind. Eclispe knows what its like to be left behind by Moon, to be a piece of code that he doesn't care about. Nexus knows what its like to hurt people and lose them. Yes, its different, but that doesn't mean they can't empathize with each others pain, because it is similar in a way.

solar and Nexus can understand each other's pain of losing someone you care about deeply. Of blaming yourself for their death. Of course. They dealt with it much differently, but still-

Eclipse and Solar both knowing what its like to die, comforting each other, reassuring them that they're still here. That they're alive. That they're them.

Enough about what they have in common tho-

like oh my goddd. I have so many thoughts bro-

Eclipse smells like cigarettes and leather and faintly of the vanilla candles Puppet lights in their apartment. Solar smells like grease and oil and sometimes chemicals when he cleans himself off (and then is forced to take an actual shower by Eclipse because cleaning yourself with harsh chemicals every time cant be good for your casing). Nexus smells like lavender (because thats the scent of the detegerant Sun always washes their clothes with) and faintly of bleach (consequences of living in the same house as Sun) and grease a lot after he's been working. The other twos smells are comforting to all three of them, reminding them that they're safe and content. Nexus eccpecially loves wearing Solar's clothes, and loves being in his arms, reminding him that he's alive. Thats he's right here. That everything is going to be okay.

And oh my god don't get me started on the forbidden love. The fact that Eclipse and Solar can't be in the same dimension till Eclispe gets a new dimensional signal. Solar and Nexus both crushing on Eclipse, but Nexus is the only one that can actually see them both, having to pass messages between the two. Of course they do eventually get to see each other again, but for so long they won't be able to. Its just.. sad

And AUGH im always going to be insane over rmy true loves kiss idea. The idea of Solar kissing Nexus out of desperation, because nothing he says can get through to him and ohmygod he's panicking- and somehow the virus he has just disappearing. The kiss curing Nexus, and bringing him back to his senses. And oh my god, the chaos and angst that follows. Nexus sobbing becuase of what he's done, feeling so guilty. The family not wanting to accept him back, Moon being the worst one-

Solar and Eclipse being the first ones to accept him. Later being Sun, Earth, and then Lunar. Maybe one day Moon, but thats a day far in the future.

And auggh, Solar and Moon's friendship. Moon hating his boyfriends but midly tolerating them for Solar's sake. Solar aclimating him to Eclipses, and he starts tolerating him a bit more. Hearing him say so many good things about Nexus makes him hate him more, though, insecure about Nexus being back in the family. Afraid of being replace.

Sleaking of being replaced, Nexus feeling like he's replaceable. That he's disposable. That one wrong move and he'll be thrown out again. Solar reassuring him that even if he is hell go with him. That he refuses to let Nexus be completley abandoned and manipulated again.

And god, all three of them have such communication, trust, and attachment issues-

Solar feels like he has to be useful to be loved. That he has to prove himself. That he could also be thrown out of the family because he's not from this dimension. He's afraid of being a burden. He's afraid that if he complains he'll be seen as a nuisance. That he doesn't deserve help or to get anything, that he barely deserves the celestial family as it is even if he does so much for them.

Nexus also feels like he has to be useful. That if he isn't, what is he for? What was his purpose if he can't help? He compares himself to Moon a lot, feeling like he has to match up to his standards, even if they're impossible. Moon has years and years of experience on him- he also struggles to talk about his own feelings. He bottled them up so much because he felt like they were stupid that he just doesn't know how to talk about them. The only time he can is in the middle of the night, and is usually with Eclipse. Solar will try to comfort him and almost baby him when he tries to rant to him, Eclipse will just complain and rant right back though, and he prefers it.

Eclipse didn't really ever have any healthy relationships. He's used to pushing people away and bottling all his feelings up. To lashing out at people. Yes, this version is much calmer, but he still has the memories of the ones before him. Hes still used to that being what Eclipses in this dimension did. He doesn't know how to talk to people. Earth helped him open up though, and Solar and Nexus helped him more. He's a lot calmer now, and it helps that they both enjoy listening to him rant. Solar will listen to him and gives advice, while Nexus will just complain with him in the middle of the night. He loves both, though it depends on the situation for what he wants to do.

Their relationship isn't perfect, though. Nexus will still sometimes yell and freak Solar out, and he has to frantically apologize while Eclipse calms him down. Eclispe sometimes will push them away, and will sometimes use their insecurities and trauma against them when hes frustrated eith them. Solar refuses to talk about his own issues, and it worried the other two to no end. Nexus sometimes will hit himself or bite himself to the point of denting his casing when he's frustrated or having a breakdown, not wanting to lash out at anyone, and this worries the other two so much but there's nothing they can really do to stop it, just comforting Nexus the best they can and restraining him when they see him doing it. Eclipse will be rude to Nexus, treating him like Moon, and they'll get into fights about it that they both always regret later.

The hallucinations Nexus suffers from also doesn't end. He still sees Solar telling him he isn't proud of him. He sometimes gets vivid hallucinations that Solar is still dead.

They also all suffer from horrific nightmares

Solar dreaming that he's still in his original dimension. That he's still being abused by his Moon. That he still has no one to love him. He has nightmares that he's still dead, that Nexus never got better. He has nightmares that he ends up like Eclipse, that he hurts people. He has nightmares that the family shuns him and kicks him out. He has nightmares that old moon shows up at his dimension again and he can't stop him this time, and he hurts him and everyone he loves.

Nexus dreaming of Solar still dead. Nexus having nightmares that he actually killed his family. He has nightmares that he's still under Dark Sun's control. He has nightmares that he never was saved from space. He has nightmares of Eclipse betraying and killing him, never having truly gone good. He has nightmares that the family kicks him out for not living up to their expectation, for not being good as moon.

Eclipse dreaming of Moon. Nightmares of Bloodmoon torturing him, of Moon hurting him, of Lunar killing him again. Nightmares of him betraying everyone, even though that's the last thing he wants to do. Nightmare of Earth hating him, of Solar an Nexus hating him.

They often have to comfort each other from these night terrors, holding them close as cooing to the and rocking them.

Solar panics and sobs when he wakes up from one, but refuses to talk about it. He shuts down once when calms down, and often gets up in the middle of the night after to mindlessly do work to get his mind off of it.

Nexus wakes up screaming and crying and often hallucinating. He ususally has to be restrained so he doesn't accidentally hurthimself. He always feels bad about it after, and just wants to cuddle and feel loved, reminding himself that his partners are here and they're real.

Eclipse wakes up in a cold sweat, quiet. Hell just sit there for awhile, before getting up to take a cold shower to clear his mind.

they all overwork themselves, Solar and Nexus eccpecially-

solar because he needs to feel useful. Also because working helps him not think, it helps him "relax", even if it stresses him out more.

Nexus because he'll get so caught up in what he's doing. He'll start working at like noon and he'll zone out and suddenly its midnight and Eclipse and Solar are coming down to drag him away from his lab. Or Sun, sometimes sun has to come after him.

They're just so sad and gay and such a polycule i love them <3

Astro wasn't really interested in you at first.

So what if they could hear a player now? What's that going to change?

Then he learned of your DAMN sleep schedule.

And he was horrified.

What do you mean you don't get at least eight hours a night? What do you mean you've stayed up several times for an hour or two to play things like Dandy's World? What do you mean you've done it when you had to wake up at practically six or earlier the next day?!

And what made it so much worse was your remarks about 'not needing the sleep' or 'being able to handle it'.

That was made Astro start to care. Not about you, per say.

But definitely about your trashy sleep schedule that he desperately needs to fix.

He didn't have many passion projects, but you were going to be a welcome first.

He would make sure you actually would sleep at night.

Astro soon learned you never remembered your dreams. And the few you could remember were never the types of dreams you wanted to have.

Maybe if he could fix this, you'd be more willing to sleep?

Oh, you also take forever to fall asleep?

Okay, he could work on fixing that too.

The only problem is getting his powers to affect you in your world...

That would be an issue he would work on later, he decided. First, we would figure out how to get you to stop playing to late and sleep...

It started off quite simple. Twisted Astro would just spawn a ton more when you stayed up later playing.

However, much to his annoyance, you'd just be happy to have more Astro research and would happily not be bothered as he spawned.

So he began spawning on every single floor until he killed you, and made you give up and go to bed.

Of course, though, his constant spawns made you start to get stunningly good at dealing with him.

So he began upping his aggression the later you stayed up until he would inevitably kill you. Or at least the Toon you played as.

He could ignore the complaints the others voiced at him forcing you to log off and go to sleep, them getting attached to you.

Astro didn't care. He just wanted to make sure you slept.

He didn't even notice he was getting attached.

Astro was the one who heard all of Dandy's rambles about you.

He was a little scared by his friend's obsession with you, worrying for the flower who seemed to crave you.

Craving wholly and entirely you.

Astro tried not to bring up his concerns, especially when Dandy was so gleeful that Astro was putting in so much effort to ensure you had a healthy sleep schedule.

Dandy was just gleeful, his closest friend also liked you.

Astro tried to pretend that he didn't like you, that he didn't understand why his friends and the Toons around him were growing obsessed, that images of you didn't haunt him when he slept and made him crave to have the real you with him.

He was lying to himself.

But Astro didn't pretend to dislike you.

Yes, there were things about you he didn't adore, such as your rashness, stubbornness, and self-hatred.

But your positives far outweighed your negatives.

You were flawed, but these flaws only made the beautiful parts of you more amazing.

Never has Astro been more happy for Vee's soft spot for him.

Why? Because she told him a surprising amount of little tidbits of information she learned.

And he would share some of these tidbits with the other Toons.

He told Sprout and Cosmo about your favorite foods? He caught them later practicing how to make all these treats until they were perfect for you.

He mentioned to Goob and Scraps art projects you wanted to try? He found them working on figuring out how to do it themselves so they could teach you.

He told Shelly your favorite dinosaur- huh? She already knew..?

...

Weird. She doesn't seem willing to explain why she knows anyway. He decides not to ask more if she refuses to tell.

But he does worry a bit now...

Especially since everyone is getting as clingy and obsessive over you as Dandy is...

Including him.

He could control himself, he swore upon it.

Astro was more than willing to help in Dandy's plan.

Why wouldn't he be? It's a chance to finally see the real you.

What surprised him the most was how willing everyone else was to join in on this plan.

Somehow, even Shrimpo and Vee were convinced to help the plan.

It make him fully realize just how much everyone craved your presence. How they were so much more willing to act upon their dark desires.

He realized he needed to protect you from these dark desires. To shield you from the dark things the others seeked to do to you.

He wanted to protect you. To keep you healthy. To keep you happy.

But most of all, fix your damn sleep schedule.

This is why your stubbornness pisses him off. Even now, you stay up late playing the game until he kills you and makes you sleep.

So, for the sake of their Creators and Gods... For the sake of him keeping his love as pure as he could... To resist the dark urges and obsession he had with you...

Just go to sleep...

Ok - and I think I've heard people theorize this before - but what if the reason Dandy wants tapes so bad is because watching his cartoon is the only thing keeping him from turning lethal?

He's heavily implied to be obsessed with the past, such as when Connie says that all Dandy talks about with Astro is just old episodes;

So what if it's the reminiscing about old times that keeps him a toon?

And when he doesn't get any tapes the first couple of times, he starts to show visible distress/impatience as well as showing signs of turning lethal [i.e; the red dots in his eyes]

Which, yes, could mean that he's becoming lethal because he's getting desperate, but there's a chance that it could mean he's getting desperate because he's becoming lethal. If that makes any sense.

Ahhh yes, the "I Can Fix Them" au

Genuinely just a comfort au where I play with relationships and things. The actually story/plot of the au isn't too important. There is one tho!! Thats what this post is for, and for exploring some of the relationships in the au!

The au mostly follows Canon up until around Solar being brought back (though there is already kind of an established qpr between solar and Nexus that was disrupted by solar's death and Nexus becoming a villain, but yknow-)

After Solar is brought back, immediately is worried about Nexus. He ends up getting closer with Moon, but he is working on a way to help Nexus. 

He does end up finding him. But he can tell something is wrong as he talks to him, and nothing he says helps. So, he starts panicking, and does the one thing he can think of: kisses him.

AND IT WORKS?? (True loves kiss lmao)

no one knows how to this day, but for some reason the virus in Nexus just breaks when he kisses him and Nexus is free. Of course he feels so so bad for everything he did, and cries for awhile in Solar's arms till he passes out. Solar takes him home, and the family is very apprehensive of Nexus being back in the family, but they eventually warm back up to him (starting with Sun). Moon hates him still, though him and Solar are friends. Soemthing Nexus HATES, but it's mutual because Moon hate state Solar and Nexus are now dating (how yeah and they started dating)

On top of this, but Eclipse has to move out of the dimension because of Solar. So he goes to another dimension and moves into an apartment with Puppet and works as security for a small fazbear's pizza (yeah were saying fuck you to eaps i don't have the energy to watch it 😔)

Nexus and Solar are grateful for bringing Solar back. Nexus visits him quite a bit, ectopically cause he was the one who talked Earth into forgiving Nexus, so he's even more grateful. The two end up getting close, and Solar and Eclipse exchange letters a lot. But they can't actually see each other.

Solar and Nexus realizing they're both falling for Eclipse.

Yada yada it all ends up fine and Eclipse gets a new signature and they all can kiss now 👍

They are all healing and things, cause oh my god they're all SO FUCKED UPPPP

There's also probably stuff going on with Dark Sun, I havnt gotten that far yet. Idk what happens to him after Nexus is save.d he probably just disappears for awhile and Nexus jumps every time he sees Sun, because he was abused a lot by Dark Sun.

Nexus honestly isn't that close with Sun, less than before. Moon doesn't want him around Sun, and Nexus doesn't like looking at him because it makes him think of Dark Sun.

Monty dies idgaf. Bitch dies, Moon realizes how much of a bitch he is and hat he isn't good for Earth and confronts him and Monty tries to fight him and Moon kills him. No more Monty <3 (second au I've killed off Monty now)

Lunar isn't the biggest fan of Nexus but he gives him a second chance. He hates that he's dating Eclipse tho.

Moon eventually starts warming up to Eclipse. And Nexus, though that takes longer.

Uh- Sun and Bloodmoon are in a qpr- yeah-

Qpr blood/sun:

They met after [insert dead brothers name here] died. The remaining bloodmoon brother was incredibly vulnerable and terrified without counterpart. Sun, against his better judgment, reached out with help to them. They were suspicious at first, but eventually accepted.

They grew closer and the twin practically became like a cat to Sunny. They slept in his bed with him, and was by his side often. The family repeatedly asked if they were dating, but they denied it each time, sometimes even seeming kind of grossed out by it. Cause they weren't dating, it was a lot more complicated than that

Eventually Eclipse helps and they figure out how to bring back the dead twin. They Are… unsure, at first. So much as changed since they're death, and him and their twin were still separated… and the person who killed their original virus was so close with their brother? It was an uncomfortable situation, but they ended up becoming comfortable with it too, though wasn't as docile as their counterpart, much more talkative, talking for their twin usually

Solar and Moon:

God they're beasties. Bffs. It makes Nexus really insecure, but they're still friends. They talk about their Suns and their inventions and things. Sometimes they'll just quietly work together cause they're both bad at talking

They mostly avoid the topic of Nexus and Eclipse cause Moon can't stand them, but once Moon accidentally slipped an insult/a bit of shit talking and Solar just snapped. And yelled at Moon about how he should empathize with Nexus. He stormed off after. 

Later he tried to anxiously apologize to Moon but he just reassure him that he was right, and tried his best to give Nexus a bit more of a 2nd chance

Solar once, as a prank, painted an aroace flag on the entirety of one of the walls of Moon's room with washable paint. It took forever to get off and Moon made Solar do it. Eclipse was laughing the entire time both at the prank and his bf lmao.

Anyway yeah they're stupid antisocial nerd beasties

When you were introduced to the other Toons, the first thing you did was yawn, nod, and walk away.

You didn't even say your name. Just ignored them all talking to and being curious about you and waltzed off. When they found you later, you were asleep on a bench.

So, was it surprising when it was revealed you were meant to be a counterpart to Astro?

Astro was a little apprehensive to you, especially at first.

He didn't know what to really do with you. Even if you were like him- calm and easily able to go to sleep- you were also so... different.

You were ditzy, daydreaming the day away. And you were almost constantly exhausted. To the point you often just outright refused to do many things because you were too tired.

And if you weren't daydreaming, you were usually just sleeping the day away or was outright gone.

Most Toons barely noticed you because of this. You usually were just gone, sleeping somewhere off to the side or sitting somewhere with bleary eyes.

You barely spoke to anyone. Especially Astro. Sure, you were now often made to stand next to him due to the marketing, but you two never had much of an in-depth conversation.

You always seemed like you were in your own world. Even when awake, and even when asleep. But your dreams...

Astro could only describe your dreams as completely unexpected for you.

Your personality was quiet, sleepy, ignoring reality.

But your dreams?

They were beautiful.

Serene, breath-taking... like someone brought a painting to life.

Sometimes it was a garden of flowers. Other times it was a galaxy.

And every time in your dreams?

You knew you were dreaming. And you were simply painting.

And you knew Astro was there.

And in your dreams, it was the first time you spoke to him.

"Hi Astro. You needed a break too?"

Astro then decided he liked you.

He liked that he never had to make your dreams either.

While Astro was meant to be of dreams when asleep, you were of daydreams.

But you also listened. To everyone.

When Astro just thought you were sitting off to the side, you were listening to Toons woes. Helping them daydream and find peace when awake. To pursue their dreams in reality.

He liked that about you. You were kind.

You were just constantly exhausted, and not even Astro knew why. Your dreams gave no hints, like a perfect facade. A way for you to escape.

Astro worried for you and your tendency to just ignore reality. Especially when the ichor operation started.

He barely noticed when he started to love you. He just thought he worried and trusted you.

Astro became a Twisted to save you.

You often went off to distract due to being quick. However, your constant exhaustion made your stamina close to none.

So Astro stayed close, regenerating your stamina as much as he could to keep you safe.

One day, your exhaustion was worse than any other. Because you weren't sleeping. You were forcing yourself to stay awake to help the other Toons. The ones who remained.

Astro felt guilty he didn't join you in helping the Toons. You even taught him how to make daydreams, but he didn't go and help you calm down Toons.

He was too busy trying to keep them peaceful in their sleep. But even when he was unable to find time to help you, you managed to find time to help him.

Then panic mode occurred on one of the later floors, and you fell asleep in the middle of running.

When Astro watched you collapse unconsious, he panicked. You were being chased by several Twisteds, and he knew that you may not make it through this.

He panicked and immediately ran into the fray, as Goob noticed you were unconsious and dragged you into the elevator.

But the elevator closed before he could make it in.

Astro blamed himself for the fact you nearly became a Twisted.

If he helped you, maybe you'd be less tired.

If he did something else, maybe he wouldn't be a Twisted.

If he didn't become a Twisted, maybe you wouldn't have been left behind on a floor.

He found you asleep in a corner, barely noticeable.

And despite the ichor in his body, he didn't attack you.

He just found his old blanket (now too small for him) and wrapped you in it, protecting you.

He still was able to go into your dreams. Even if he was still a Twisted, even if him being in your dreams corrupted it.

You still just looked up at him from your painting, and smiled. As tears dripped from your eyes at the sight of his Twisted form, you kept smiling.

"Hi Astro."

That was when Astro realized he loved you.

And that you loved him too.
