As a sound person for concerts. You're god damn right I'm wearing earplugs. That's my job, and it would be a lot harder to do if I couldn't hear. Going without them ONCE is a bad idea, going without them multiple times is the ear's equivalent to smoking a pack a day. If you forget earplugs, sometimes the venue will have cheap foam ones that you can buy! Or, if you have the time, stop by a music store and see what they have. Guitar Center has a pair I've been using for a while that was like $6. It's a worthwhile investment.

As we speak, as a matter of fact. This is literally my job. If it's not 500+ now, it will be eventually.

Include nonprofessional productions, like community theater or school plays. This is asking only about seeing them live– do not include times you've watched recordings of plays/musicals. DO include shows you've seen multiple times. For any productions you were involved in (as cast/crew/etc), use your own judgement to decide if that counts.
If you don't know the exact number, just make your best estimate.

Hey you! Aspiring (or even established) youtuber! Here's how to fix this issue. These instructions should be applicable in any video editing software with an effect called something like "compressor" or "dynamics"
Step 1: Load your compressor onto your vocal track. If you do not have separate vocal track, this can work on your master track too, just make sure your voice is loud enough compared to your background music/gameplay/whatever.
Step 2: Set the "ratio" to something like 4:1. The ratio determines how much volume equalizing happens. If you don't set it high enough, then it won't bring your loud parts and quiet parts close enough together, but you still want some dynamic range or things can become a bit fatiguing to listen to. You can always adjust this later on, just make sure it's doing SOMETHING before you move onto the next step.
Step 3: Find a part where you're being loud, preferably at your loudest. Lower the "threshold" setting until you start noticing things getting quieter. What this is doing is lowering only the loud parts of your audio, to bring them closer to the quiet parts. Compare your loudest part to a quiet part to see if they're close enough. Your goal is to make the quiet part easily understandable without the loud part hurting your ears. This is where you may need to adjust your compressor's ratio to bring things closer together or farther apart. If your threshold is starting to impact the quiet part of your audio, you've set it a little too low and need a higher ratio instead.
Step 4: Obviously, this process results in a quieter overall volume, so to bring it back up, raise the "gain" on the compressor. This may be called "wet gain" or "output gain" or "post gain", just make sure it takes effect AFTER the rest of your compressor does its thing. Raise the volume until you think it is loud enough, and if it's on a separate channel from the rest of your sound, make sure you aren't drowning things out that you want to hear. For my own youtube videos, I find around -6db to -12db is a good spot for a vocal track to be.
Step 5: if possible, save your compressor settings as a preset so you don't have to do that for every video! Unless your recording setup changes or you end up unhappy with your result, there shouldn't be any reason to change too much about these settings. Just load up the preset and enjoy sounding better. :)

"yes [user:checkOutMyCans420] your setups response curve is very level i can definitely hear those high frequencies you are too old to hear that are outside of human hearing. of course the base boost you set isnt horrible, its quite tasteful if you ask me. yeah that $200 patch cable really reduced the noise from you thought you heard. no you were definitely just sleepy when you thought you were listening to the flac and not the youtube rip mp3 last night and can tell the difference 48.73% of the time. yes i love you and im not programmed to say that when you ask silly"
fuck i should be a hostess
what are your robot superpowers?
i can hear the difference between 16, 24, 32 and 48 bit audio encoding but besides that im basically a tamagotchi
