I don't go here (with om!) but I redrew the symbols for the cast, it kept bothering me that the originals aren't symmetrical.
Free to use without credit.
Edit: Replaced with neutral colors for light tumblr themes, white ones under cut

Still here, still drawing, although I'm trying out something different with lineart thanks to some advice from @fearsomejibblet so I'm progressing very slowly with this rather than messily blitzing through a drawing in 4 hours like I usually do

one of my dnd groups got into a discussion about which muppet everyone's character was, so i legally had to draw the noble aasimar paladin, Lady Elody, if she were portrayed by Miss Piggy.

messin around with inkscape and it's alright so far. got it to trace my logo easily because it's only two colors, but I tried to do it for a logo I did for someone else (five colors) and it totally flubbed it

Disney Dreamlight Valley: Dreamsnaps! (Updated)
I have previously made a post about Dreamsnaps, I will post that link early in the body, but have since made more progress on trying to figure out the system!
Tumblr media
Here is my first post, and if you don't know much about dreamsnaps, it is a good place to start: https://www.tumblr.com/orphancookie69/743784638706778112/disney-dreamlight-valley-dreamsnaps
I will recap some of the basics, as it is relevant to the updated knowledge:
Week 1: Challenge 1
Week 2: Challenge 2 | Voting on Challenge 1
Week 3: Challenge 3 | Voting on Challenge 2 | Results of Challenge 1
And so forth. There are two types of challenges:
Outfit: Tags based on clothes
Decor: Tags based on items
There are two types of points:
Mandatory: Your photo can not be submitted without hitting the minimum of these
Bonus: you will get extra points for these (these used to be called suggested)
Once you have your results back you get the following data:
Score
Rank
Moonstones
Pixel Dust
There are 10 levels of Dreamsnaps that you move through with the Pixel Dust. You get items as you progress through levels 1-10, ending with a big trophy.
Tumblr media
(Just a note-I am not sure how credible the information I got is, but so far it seems to be playing out like they said it does. ) So the next question is, how does scoring work? Scoring is supposed to go as follows:
20 points for mandatory tags
20 points for bonus tags
Remaining points for ranking (plotted on a bezier curve)
Pixels: your score + 100 (rounded up)
Your moonstones is rewarded based on your voting ranking:
Tumblr media
For Example: this is my submission for Dance Party
Tumblr media
I had the following results from it:
46.93 score: 20 points (mandatory)+20 points (bonus)+6.93 (ranking)
104,163 ranking: 6.93 points when I ranked this low makes sense
600 moonstones: I was in the top 70%
147 Pixel Dust: 46.93+100=146.93 (rounded up)=147
Some people say the higher the tags, the better. I have not found anything to support that. I think this leads to the question of, how to do well in voting? I recently joined a site called www.starlightdreamers.com and my profile is below:
It took a minute upload all the information and images, but it also helped me to start keeping track of my tags (to see how that plays into things). They took my data and here is my (as of writing this post) data:
Best Results: Winters Here (2500 moonstones-Rank: 11,114)
Lowest Results: Timeless Magical Style (300 moonstones - Rank: 112,610)
Total Moonstones Earned: 39,400
Average Challenge: 656 moonstones
Decor Average Challenge: 580 moonstones
Outfit Average Challenge: 733 moonstones
There is an interesting feature on the site that people can like or leave reactions to your submissions. So I started posting it before submissions were due to gauge future voting reaction, also to see what other people were posting.
Back to New Orleans: 53 likes/1 reaction - 900 moonstones / Ranking 54,506
Dance Party: 44 likes/2 reactions - 600 moonstones / Ranking 104, 164
Autumn's Magic: 47 likes/3 reactions - Currently in voting
Based on this, I would make the hypothesis that Autumn's Magic does better than Dance Party but not better than Back To New Orleans in ranking. We'll see what happens.
It is true, I don't "sell my soul" for moonstones and will sometimes not do the popular thing just for "free moonstones". Especially after seeing all my photos together in like a portfolio thing-I don't mind playing the unique or true game. But here are some Tips I have read from other players:
Have a path down the middle
One big building or object behind you
2 identical objects around the one big thing in background
Hide fireworks behind the background items
Add sparkle
Keep colors in theme
trap characters in the photo
There's no such thing as "too cluttered"
Play with camera angles or filters
There are items (like the stage and bonfire) that will gather villagers (without breaking your game)
Have good lighting
Avoid empty foreground
Use special effects
People vote quickly for eye catching photos
Respect the theme
Keep it simple
I might try "selling my soul" one time to see if it gets bought, if I do-I will make a follow up post to let you know how it goes. Who is already joining the starlightdreamers.com? Hope this helps, and don't forget to have fun!
