Sarcean and Anharion: are they gay men? Are they lesbians? And they both nonbinary and queer? Who's to say. Sure in canon they're men, but I genuinely couldn't decide whether I wanted this piece to be genderbent or not, so I will leave that up to interpretation.

Ω PJO MISC. DEMIGOD HEADCANONS:🎭MELPOMENE: MUSE GODDESS OF TRAGEDY🍇
a/n: When you start cooking with Satyrs and Goats and start being sneaky in this. Also we're back with our favourite (only) Camp Director, Mr. D! [PJO MISC + MUSE DEMIGOD H/CS MASTERIST: [AO3] \\ [TUMBLR]
Alright out of the muses, you have the flair for dramatics, particularly for the macabre variety. You’re often described as being dramatic yet very serious in your pose. How, no one knows but you pull it off.
Melpomene is the Muse of Tragedy, and while you know all of William Shakespeares’ tragedies not only Romeo & Juliet and Macbeth, you’re very good at remembering Julius Caesar, Timon of Athens, and Titus Androncius, you’re first and foremost familiar with the Ancient Greek Tragedies of Sophocles, Euripides, and Aeschylus.
In terms of play and theater management, you’re the one leading it most of the time out of the muses and in turn, you’re the one who interacts with Mr. D the most. Not surprising because particularly Greek Tragedy, were also used as ritual rites while both being carried out by and dedicated to Dionysus so if anything he’s going to have a few says. He’s the Theatre director and you’re the producer basically; or the other way around. It gets confusing sometimes.
Despite Mr. D’s casual reference they used to sacrifice goats, you came to a compromise: the goat would be used as a mascot for the plays and theaters, instead as a sacrifice, but in turn you would allow any Satyr to take any part if they chose to.
In terms of weaponry, your preferred weapon is the sword as Melpomene is portrayed holding a sword. Alongside though, you’re also known to wear a mask into battle, another of Melpomene’s symbols.
What no one expects is that you insist on wearing boots. Not just any boots like rainboots or uggs, but Buskin boots or something similar to Cothurnus boots; boots that go to at least your knee or half way up your calves as Melpomene is shown wearing them. You have a large variety of boots that fit any occasion and you can smoothly walk across the stage and fight just as well even in your platform boots. Many Aphrodite children and even Ares children ask for tips how you wear these boots so well.
The Sirens could also be considered your half-siblings which explains somethings as your chanting during your theater productions charms the soul of your listeners, and also explains many of the tragedies the Siren orchestrate in front of them as they tempt sailors to their deaths. On the other hand, your singing/chanting reveal your audience the themes of human nature and the dealings with mortal rights and wrongs, thus giving them enlightenment in each individual.
What is unexpected is that because of your knowledge in tragedy, that deals human nature, moral rights and wrongs, and your in depth knowledge of Sophocles and Euripedes, you’ve also become a person who provides great psychological and philosophical thoughts and discussion. Mr. D has given you some coaching in peoples’ mental healths and dreams, so you’re not alone with that responsibility.
You’re often approached by Apollo children who want a couple of insights in their patients, approached by the Athena children for some deep thought, and in general, you often hold a theater session about these subjects.

motorfang headcannons because i think of them constantly
- they watch jeopardy together and compete with each other to win
- they both HATE when people eat food loudly; when peter b. eats around them they both just stare in disgust (this was based off some fan art i saw, when i find it ill credit them)
- the king and queen of side eyeing (it’s kind of canon already lmao)
- they aren’t super big on pda in the workplace. the most contact between them would just be a hand on the shoulder or when something is being passed between them (the exception is patching each other up)
- jessica is the only person miguel trusts to patch him up when he’s injured
- mutual. massaging.
- they are both stubborn and ridiculously petty, arguments (usually about the canon or miles) melt down into standoffs that last for hours
- jessica has miguel take down her protective styles
- saturday morning cleaning is something serious in their space cs they’re both lowkey neat freaks; music blasting, every surface wiped down, candles lit in every clean room
- when jessica first met miguel, she had a problem taking miguel seriously and would giggle during his monologues (it’s not her fault he looked like he was mewing every time he’d pause) miguel let it slide because he found her laugh cute anyway
- miguel was so afraid of putting jess in danger when he first recruited her once he learned she was pregnant; she had to convince him to give her harder missions
- they both know the rumors that circulate around the spider society about miguel being the father of jessica’s child, both choose not to address it
- glasses wearing power couple (sometimes, miguel prefers contacts)
- they temporarily took gwen in until hobie offered
- miguel liked the 2099 burgers up until they changed something in the recipe only he was able to detect. after basically throwing a fit and going back up to his screens without any food, jess bought him empanadas for him instead; only eats those now (i want to draw this lowk)
- love languages:
- miguel loves words of affirmation the most, being told by jessica that he and his work are valued means the world to him
- jessica loves physical touch; pregnancy is hard, even harder being a spider. and miguel is always willing to massage every ache and kiss every change in her body
- pet names were very gradually called amongst them. for a long time it was just “jess” and “migs”
- it never really evolved much besides “baby” and “amor”
- jessica isn’t fluent in spanish, she knows a lot of words just from context when miguel speaks (cursing and compliments towards her); she tries, and her spanish is decent
- 90s anime binging; jess loves sailor moon and miguel loves dragon ball z
- cat and child magnets
- miguel organized a part of the society to be a daycare after gerry was born so jessica could have easier access to her baby (and so peter would stop bringing mayday to nearly every mission)
ughhh i love them both they’re probably gonna argue in the next movie but idc ! 😍

Tagged by @thisisevenharderthannamingablog , thank you my friend!
1. How many works do you have on AO3? 21
2. What’s your total AO3 word count? 358,747 1/3 is that is Light of All Lights
3. What fandoms do you write for? It depends on what my hyperfixation is but right now just Stolitz. I have dreams of finishing my CS fics but realistically I don’t think that’s coming back.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
1. Light of All Lights (by a mile, I will never see success like that again đŸ€Ł)
2. Sleep Shifts (a dark horse I wrote on my phone so fast but people really dug it)
3. Whether We Wake or Sleep (my greatest shame)
4. Dear Anonymous (my first on AO3!)
5. How to Become a Witch in Ten Easy Lessons (I love this one, it was so fucking fun)
5. Do you respond to comments? I try to! Especially if they’ve given me something to respond to. I feel silly being like “Thanks” to things like “loved it” “great story”. I appeciate them so much don’t get me wrong, but it’s like replying Thanks to emails for me, a waste of a notification for someone.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I usually do happy endings but His Brightest Star Was You was kind of a bummer.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Probably Light of All Lights, it was the most earned but I didn’t finish several that could have been contenders.
8. Do you get hate on fics? No, I don’t think I ever have? I’ve had people question my writing choices but never hate.
9. Do you write smut? Sure, if it serves the story and characters, I don’t usually write PWP though.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? Not really, I don’t enjoy reading them so I don’t write them either.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I am aware of, if you did cut that shit out.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Yes, it was very sweet.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? No, never had the opportunity and I’m not sure if I could. I get too excited over my own shit and I’d probably be a nightmare for them.
14. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I remain hopeful Whether We Wake or Sleep will come back to me so I can finish it. I really love that fic but the show just burnt me out so bad. I reread it all the time and try again every few months so one day maybe. I don’t even know if there is anyone around who’d even wanna read it tbh.
15. What are your writing strengths? I’ve been told I am good at dialogue and like immersive environments/ world building, I work really hard on those aspects so I like being validated about it.
16. What are your writing weaknesses? I’m wordy as fuck, and comma splices. I am queen of the comma splice. Not a weakness per say but I think some people have trouble with my “drop them in and let them figure it out based on how the characters are interacting with the world” style versus like big lore or magic system exposition drops.
17. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I’m doing this in Sheltered and He’s Just Not That Into You for Vassago, I worry I’m messing it up but people haven’t said anything so far.
18. First fandom you wrote for? I used to do Rugrats fanfic for my brother and sister, like tell them stories about it at bedtime. The first fandom I wrote for was either Sailor Moon or DBZ when I was like 10. Those have been lost to time. The first fandom I was heavily involved in as a writer was Roswell.
19. Favorite fic you’ve written? Light of All Lights, hands down. It was a beautiful experience, just inspiration and words flowing so fast and feeling like I was really creating something lovely. People really resonated with it and it was so much fun. I feel that same spark with my original web series Myrth so it’s nice to feel that again, but the fandom interaction with LOAL was something else and I’ll take that experience with me forever.
I’m not sure who to tag so if you do this please let me know!

Fandom Woes: Self-Righteousness of Modern Tragedy
Tumblr media
I think I want to explain my case better about my beef with modern tragic/more-bitter-than-sweet fantasy/sci-fi, such as RWBY, Code Geass, and D.Gray-Man and it’s not necessarily the stories in of themselves
It’s the Self-Righteous Martyr/God-Complex of toxic contingent within these fandoms, to me they seem to ultimately not care the message the tragedy and suffering of these stories are trying to convey, but rather enjoy them and flaunt them for their own self-righteous megalomania
And I know that sounds hyperbolic, but it’s the tone, attitude and behavior of these people that give me that impression
For example with Code Geass and RWBY and the tragic deaths of Euphemia Li Britannia, Shirley Fenette, Lelouch, Pyrrha, and Penny respectively
Tumblr media
As soon as that happened, many among the fandom would come out and theatrically proclaim the necessity of these tragic deaths, how it is so realistic an shows “thats life”, and brag how ultimately hopeful the stories still are and how it taught them how to be oh-so hopeful despite the odds, and I can see them act that way towards the burden of Allen Walker if the fandom was still active today as it was back then.
In any these cases, these people act as if they themselves were righteous martyrs, prophets of God,Life,Reality, usually the latter two because they claim "that's life" or "that's reality" all in a tone that reeks of holier-than-thou arrogance and vanity...
Tumblr media
"Of my virtue, I am justly proud..."
Or worse, they speak with ghoulish glee and bragging about it gives them a feeling of power over these fictional characters as if they themselves are God almighty and it bleeds into how they treat real people who didn't like it by passive aggressively or belligerently belittling, judging, shaming, gaslighting, and sneering at them, implying the worse reasons of their distaste, and tell them to go watch a sitcom or slice-of-life anime or something
Tumblr media
Then they are quick to condemn other fictional characters like Suzaku from Code Geass for being such a SOB and cheer on Watts putting Cinder on Full Blast, all while implying themselves to be such better people than both
Tumblr media
Then they brag about what story was told with these ideas and concepts to be the end-all-be-all of these concepts in any fantasy/sci-fi epics that have even the slightest tinge of darkness and conflict and, lock them down into little theories, formulas, dogmas, and rule out everything else as a corruption, heresy, or a worthless little parasite, because they themselves are the infallible, all-knowing, and all-seeing “literary experts” who got everything all figured out and everyone else, wether the majority or minority, as peon reprobates.
Tumblr media
Which then they pressure onto creatives with less power than them, especially when they disagree. All while they themselves can do whatever they want and do whatever they want with things they are unhappy with because “we know better than you”
I have experienced this expressing my ideas of what RWBY could have been instead, AU and Original work and been told it could only work as a slice of life anymore or a sitcom, or otherwise what I do with this stuff is ultimately meaningless and heresy and spiteful
Tumblr media
All while they supported things like His Dark Materials Trilogy which is the Anti-Narnia written by a Atheist who hates CS Lewis and Christianity with a passion because he made the concepts more “interesting”
Tumblr media
Or how making a sexy magical Captain Marvel with her own sailor scouts like Kamen America and her Kamen Corps because the creators were unhappy with what was done with the concept of Captain Marvel is nothing but a "Porno Captain Marvel Rip-Off"
Tumblr media
while making an evil superman like Homelander and other nasty rendition of superheroes in "The Boys" by a guy who despises superheroes is totally fine because he knows what's the "interesting" end-all-be-all of these concepts.
Tumblr media
All these things I describe can be summed up to figures in the Bible, The Pharisees
youtube
“They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.”-Matthew 23:4
They brag about the virtues and necessity of tragedy at the expense of fictional characters and real people, and boss around other creatives on what they do with this stuff, especially when they are unhappy, all whilst they themselves do whatever they want because they are supposedly so “objective”, they don’t need to follow the rules like everyone else
These prigs will tell others to “broaden their horizons” and give them the benefit of the doubt, but will refuse to give others the exact same courtesy because once again, “We know better than you.”
These self righteous people seem to only enjoy these stories not because of the message the tragedy and suffering is trying to convey, thats just a shield for them, but rather for their moral superiority and the thrill of power over others and being the measure of all things, for they know how life exactly works for specific individuals in specific genres and they know how to carry it out exactly.
They know with a "G"(gnosis) what's the end-all-be-all of specific concepts in ideas in specific genres and how to carry them out and they alone are the alchemists who can turn lead in to gold and everyone else is subjective and suffer from false consciousness.
In fact, I compare them to Digory’s Uncle Andrew in The Magician’s Nephew who though he could control other people by using their values against them to get them to do what he wants, while he himself doesn’t need to follow the rules, and basked in self congratulation of being a “great magician”
Tumblr media
“Men like me, who possess hidden wisdom, are freed from common rules just as we are cut off from common pleasures. Ours, my boy, is a high and lonely destiny.”
And while we’re at it and Code Geass is on the table, let me point to one of the antagonists of Akito The Exiled, Gene Smilas
Tumblr media
He was the mentor and surrogate parent of Lelia Macal who sought to bring Europe to a brighter future, often invoking the tale of the venerable St.Joan of Arc.
But when the time came to supposedly save EU, did he bet on his own life like the Saint did?
No.
He decided to position himself as God and Lelia as Joan of Arc, planning for her to die as a martyr for his own gain and become Emperor of Europe, because she happened to be a young lady with good morals who wasn't afraid to fight alongside her troops.
Like Uncle Andrew, Gene was nothing more than a peddling magician, but worse, he saw himself as God who controlled Lelila's destiny all while basking in delusions of righteousness in his quest for power. While Uncle Andrew was at least scared straight by Narnia.
To use a description of the Pharisees from the TV Series Jesus of Nazareth(1977) but slightly tweaked,
He bowed before the Story of Joan of Arc, but violated the heart of it.
And that's why I am so irritable about Tragedy in these kinds of stories, it feels like they are no longer enjoyed out of humility, compassion, truth, goodness, and beauty.
But rather out of pride, vanity, power, cruelty, and moral superiority
and sometimes it tempts me want to write my inspired stories in a way that gives them all the finger rather than for what I saw these ideas and concepts could have been, just so I can give them a taste of their own medicine
I know that's wrong, but these people test my patience, especially when they keep invading other people's spaces, bypass other people's "curations" because "there's nothing subjective about this, I need to correct and educate you", and getting away with this kind of nasty behavior
Because they are perfectly “objective” and everyone else is “subjective” therefore “subjected” to their “objective” will.

Hello, me again back with another question about the US Navy that I can't find an answer to online so I'm turning to the only source I can think of that may help. And yet again I know you say your knowledge of the US military isn't as deep as it seems but it's better than mine considering I'm not from the US, I just wanted to know how officers get off aircraft carriers? It seems like a very basic question but I'm just wondering about if in Top Gun Maverick the carrier they were on was in port and they took it to wherever the Dagger mission takes place, or they got taken to the ship if it was already at sea? If so, how would they get there? If there was an emergency, say a family member was dying, they were in the middle of the ocean and got emergency leave approved, how would they get to land? Would the ship have to port at the nearest US Naval Base? Or would you have to land on the carrier somehow? This has been on my mind for a while so any help would be greatly appreciated, your blog really adds a realistic layer to Top Gun that is refreshing
navy logistics is some of the most interesting stuff in the world. especially World War II navy logistics (the infamous ice cream barge!!!). But even today how equipment & rations & personnel (and MAIL!!!) make it on/off boats is SO fascinating & takes ungodly amounts of coordination. take a look at this video posted by the uss gerald ford (CVN 78) a couple days ago.
those are sh-60s (Sea hawks—navy black hawk variant) dropping palletized goods from a cargo ship onto the flight deck of the carrier. Including sailors’ mail, overseas goods, food etc. just awesome stuff.
in terms of officers getting on/off ships, yeah you could do it a few ways. Number one would be when the boat makes a port call. Fun fact, It used to be a huge time-honored tradition for crews to make “cruise jackets” with the names of every place your ship/carrier had stopped. not too sure if it’s still done but it was a big thing after wwii. both mav and ice would probably have them.
Tumblr media
port calls would be when crewmen and officers especially could leave the boat & party it up on dry land. so you get the stereotype of navy officers cheating on their wives with foreign women in “foreign ports of call.”
number two, if it’s a high ranking officer like the carrier strike/battle group commander (typically a RDML) who needs for some reason to leave the carrier at the center of the CS/BG formation & go to another ship, yeah you just send over a chopper like an SH-60 to go pick them up and ferry them to wherever they need to go. when I wrote ice (RADM) as deputy Cdr of third fleet (four carriers) that might be one way he’d get around the fleet. (But also not 100% sure he’d even be at sea. That was kind of just for plot/emotional reasons to separate him from mav.) but so like.. if the fleet commander/deputy cdr had a family emergency (say: found out that Carole is gonna die soon) and he got cleared to leave, he could hop on a helicopter in range (SH-60 has a range of about 400 mi for instance—the similar USCG HH-60 jayhawk, which was canonically what picked up mav & brought him back to base after he blew up the darkstar, has a range of 800 mi; if not in range he’d have to move his carrier closer [wouldn’t happen, he would be SOL]) which would take him to the nearest allied airfield with a plane to fly home. Which is what happened in my fic. lots of hurdles to clear. it’s very inconvenient & obviously not encouraged.
here is a relevant section from my wips.
Tumblr media
for the mission in Top gun: maverick, obviously we don’t know for sure where the mission takes place, but it’s clearly somewhere in the northern INDOPAC region close to the ocean in specifically third fleet’s AOR (area of responsibility). (the list of reasons I chose southeast Russia to be the enemy location in my fic is soooo unbelievably long.) the navy would have a carrier strike group in the region for some time before. then it would make the most expeditious sense for the aircrews (mav, rooster et al) to be flown in from SoCal to somewhere closer, like a navy/air force base in Japan or South Korea, before they get transferred either by land (walk onto the carrier) or by air (chopper pick-up). given the time constraints of the mission I’m going with chopper. Carriers are fast
like really fast by boat standards
but not “travel across the Pacific Ocean in a day” fast. and not “waste time for a port call pick-up” fast.
also (random piece of nautical knowledge I know for some reason) there are some (possibly non-military) reasons why you’d do a personnel transfer by sea. take cruise ships for instance. When they pull into a port, there’s a whole guy whose job it is to take over for the captain to steer the boat into the port they presumably know very well. so this is actually how local cruise ship pilots get onto cruise ships. disney cruises included.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
sketchy as fuck. I’m not sure if there’s a similar concept for aircraft carriers when they pull into unfamiliar ports
but I wouldn’t be surprised. however that’s for the captain of the boat. I would be shocked if high-ranking managerial officers ever needed to embark & disembark like this. but i just think it’s kind of funny.

At the Dawn There is Rejoicing--a birthday gift for @kmomof4 (Prologue)
Tumblr media
Summary:  Birthday gift for Krystal, @kmomof4. Based on the story of Leslie Moore and Owen Ford in the book Anne’s House of Dreams–the 5th book in the Anne of Green Gables series.  Emma Gold has led a difficult life.  Her brother and her father died when she was a child, and she was then coerced into marrying the odious Neal Gold.  She thought she’d been granted a reprieve when he was believed to be lost at sea–only for him to return disabled and in need of a caregiver.  Killian is a newspaper reporter who is tired of his routine life.  When he falls ill, his editor forces him to take a sabbatical.  What will happen when Emma takes Killian in as a border for the summer? Big thank you to @snowbellewells for making the cover pic set!
Word Count: 406
Tagging a few people who may be interested (Let me know if you want to be added or taken off the list):
Other chapters: (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) (6) (7) (Epilogue)
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Prologue
Havana, Cuba, 1879
He wiped the sweat from his brow as he stepped out of the dockside tavern the night he was scheduled to set sail for home.  He hated the infernal heat and humidity of this godforsaken place.
Point of fact, there was very little about Havana that he didn’t absolutely despise.  They’d sailed out of Prince Edward Island months ago, looking for high adventure, for wealth, perhaps even for the treasures one could find in the tropics, if the tales of other sailors could be believed.
What they’d found instead was heat, humidity, the constant buzzing and biting of mosquitos, and in the end–yellow fever.
He’d never seen a disease like this.  One by one, his men had fallen ill with fever, chills, headache, nausea, vomiting.  At first he’d chalked it up to a few too many nights imbibing a few too many libations and carousing a bit too rowdily.
But then the jaundice had started, the uncontrollable bleeding, the red eyes, delirium, seizures.
He wouldn’t wish this disease on his worst enemy.  His men, whom the doctors merely shook their heads over, wishing for the best, had died horrible deaths, while he stood by helplessly.
Why Providence had seen fit to spare him the misery and humiliation of this affliction, he didn’t know, but he was certainly grateful.  His cousin, however, had not been so fortunate.  Just this morning, the man had succumbed, cursing his rotten lot in life to the bitter end.
He felt in his pocket to be sure he still had what his cousin had given him, and he turned his thoughts to Emma as he slowly made his way to the docks.  Emma needed to know; he must return to her, and the sooner, the better.
Perhaps his thoughts of the beautiful blonde distracted him, for he didn’t notice the danger increasing by the moment.  As he walked toward his ship, a crowd of rough, dangerous-looking men surrounded him, and it wasn’t until the first one spoke in a deep, deadly voice that he realized what an incredibly precarious position he found himself in.
“Well, what do we have here?” the man jeered.
He’d barely had the chance to meet the speaker’s cold, calculating eyes before he felt a crushing blow to the back of his skull.  For a moment, he felt a sharp, explosive pain, and then he felt nothing at all, as he descended into utter darkness.
Notes: Happy birthday, Krystal!  I hope you have a wonderful year ahead!  This story is rather different from any I’ve written.  It is based on a side plot from the Anne of Green Gables novels that fairly screamed CS to me when I reread it again as an adult.  I’m sure Krystal will recognize the source of the title–from the last half of Pslams 30:6–At dusk weeping comes for the night; but at the dawn there is rejoicing.  That being the title, I’m sure you can imagine the trajectory of this story.  The first part is going to hurt–but then there will be a payoff at the end.  The current plan is for this story to run 7 chapters plus prologue and epilogue, and I plan to post every Tuesday and Friday.  To this point, I have the prologue and the first 3 chapters written, so you can expect me to keep to the posting schedule for at least the first two weeks!
Up next: We meet Emma as well as the more important people she’ll interact with in the story.  We’ll get Emma’s (rather tragic) backstory.  Prepare to thoroughly despise Neal! No Killian yet, but never fear.  He’ll show up soon enough.

We gotta market games to girls. Games NEED what sailor moon did for manga - and I mean that with my whole heart. Stardew valley? Alright at best. Candy crush? Mobile games? Absolute travesty to do that to women. Games being male marketed is why every girl on CSGO uses a voice changer, why discord servers are such fucked places for women. Because there are women that play league, that play CS, that are absolute losers, and they re staved for content. Girls need a call of duty, the world needs 15 year old girls who dont leave their rooms to have something to scream at. We need a Call of Duty sailor moon thing and every guy gamer will hate it like they hate twilight and it will be glorious.

for the wip ask game: 28. mr name (cs)
If Satine has a birth name, it’s been long forgotten in time.
Her father called her girl, a dismissive sneer of a name until he found a use for her. And then her name suited to whatever patron he was selling her to.
Belle to the university student with a gambling problem that rivaled her fathers and she was his debt to pay. Nathalie for the man old enough to be her father’s father who couldn’t do much more than fondle her while he made her sit in his lap, but somehow made her feel more disgusting than any other man would. Seraphine to the sailor who smuggled in goods her father wanted but couldn’t pay for with anything but her flesh.
She likes to think her mother had given her a name of her own, but her mother was gone long before Satine had been old enough to absorb the name at all.
