for those of you writing fics or drabbles about "sob stories" plz consider dissecting why eddie says if it's between buck and christopher he'll choose his son every time. like even buck says he knows he'll pick christopher and that he's not asking him to choose. but WHY does eddie think he is? does eddie feel like he has to choose? (i mean obviously he does BUT...) does buck personify home? when eddie thinks of LA, he sees the ties he's made with his found family, but why did he specifically say between his son and BUCK? and why can't he have both? does he know that's an option?

I looove LOVE that Xiaobao is the sweet innocent one but he's the one actively pursuing cold and mysterious Huaien. Because of this, the use of "wife" by xiaobao in ep 1 felt like a role reversal to me and I adore it

I still can't belive they gave us an aphrodisiac plot in ep 2 the way Huaien rolled them to be on top though

okay so if you some how managed to not see the title let it be known SPOILERS BELOW

holy fuck

first just wow okay so I was not expecting Cheng Xiaoshi's death to be within in the first 5 minutes of this fucking episode, tho thats kinda on me because when has this show ever been anything other than heart breaking and continues to be by showing everyones dying

also Lu Guang not even waiting 10 minutes before going into the past in order to save Cheng Xiaoshi's like fair but dude your gay is showing a bit

though it is a bit crazy that Cheng kinda did ask for him to do so rather than Lu just straight up ignoring his own rules as I think we thought he did initially. and seeing him initially planing on jut going back for a little bit before returning only to then choose to stay was heart breaking

I also do and don't think hes done this multiply times tho those thoughts are for another post

I would also like to say I was right abt the power transference thingy where someone needs to die in order to do it, tho I don't think link click was inherently being subtle so it was something I was supposed to see anyway but eh nice to be right regardless

the post 12 hour explanation was also good as it confirms the consequence of Cheng's powers but it also makes me curious as to what happens to the original soul of the older body ya know. tho I am excited to see more time rules for the show and how Cheng gets his powers since some one has to die in order for him to get them...

that being said im calling it now Xia Fe is fuckin dead by the end of this

A Fizzipop Take: Let’s talk about our first few episodes of Hazbin Hotel

We finally got what we’ve been craving: Hazbin Hotel the series!! I’ve watched and rewatched the the first four episodes that we were blessed with on Prime Video, and I definitely have some thoughts so as always, let’s get into it!!!

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!

Ok, so within these first few episodes, we find ourselves thrown into the aftermath of the most recent extermination and quickly learn that the angel army plans to move up the next extermination. Now, as the extermination is moved up, we learn that Hazbin Hotel, Charlie’s redemption project is struggling to get off the ground and the new impending extermination now cuts the time she has to find more redeemable demons and get them into heaven in half. On top of that, it seems that there may be a war coming following the death of an angel during the slaughter of the inhabitants of hell. 

First off, I’m not gonna bullshit you, pretty much every song in this show so far has been an absolute fucking hit. Like, an “I need this playing on repeat on my speaker” type vibe.

Moving on to the other stuff,  plot-wise, I love where it seems like things are going so far. Do I want a full-blown war between heaven and hell? I’m not sure yet since in the words of Carmilla, “Who’s to say who’d survive the fray…”, meaning in the midst of a war where sinners are slaughtered by holy weapons that take away their ability to regenerate, there’s no telling who would die. Would Vivzie kill off a main character? I’m not sure yet since we don’t have enough plot  to say how it could affect the storyline and at this moment, a lot of characters could very well be expendable to the plot. Although a war would be interesting, I fear that Hazbin could turn out the same way Helluva Boss did with certain characters being “main cast” but their storylines and backgrounds being completely overlooked, and I feel like in the event of a war, that would result in some fan favorites dying needlessly since they have no real storyline within the show. So far, it seems like each character has a uniquely complex personality and story, so as of now, I’m hopeful for the characters and their development in the Hazbin series.

Moving on to the characters! We have to give props to the voice actors for their amazing vocals and performances as these characters. I was a little skeptical when I found out that they were changing Husk’s voice actor from the pilot since he’s kinda my favorite, but I actually really like the essence his new actor gives the character. Overall, I think everyone’s voice fits them nearly perfectly, although I think Vaggie and Vox’s voices could fit them a little better (no shade to the actors, it’s just my opinion and it may change as I continue to watch the series). Aside from the voices, I love the personality of each character and how they all seem to mesh the way that they do and I’m excited to see how the relationships between different characters will blossom or break. The feud between Alastor and Vox, Husk and Angel’s friendship, and Carmilla’s angel ordeal are just a few of the relationships and plot points I’m the most excited for within the series. Part of me also hopes that we’ll see how each character ended up in hell from their own point of view.

Overall, I am in love with what we’ve been given so far and I’ve been left craving more like an addict (hehe, get it?). I cannot wait to see what the 5th episode will bring because if I’m honest, while I break things down and criticize the characters and such from time to time, Vivzie has rarely disappointed me with Helluva Boss and I don’t think Hazbin Hotel will be any different.

The Gaslight District by Glitch has so far become my favorite. The chaos, the animation, and all the murder stuff in it are pretty awesome to admit, and I hope to see more of it
