We made Christmas Cards

An increasingly elaborate Christmas card operation. It was lots of fun to be more creative and learning different paper crafts!

We've been playing a lot of Mario Party Jamboree lately. So I thought 'Hmmmm, how can I make a playable Mario Party birthday card for Doom Them?'

Took a bit of engineering to figure out the layout that would be easy for printing (this is entirely made up of one A4 piece of card stock!). Then I created my template and design, printed some drafts to work out proper spooling directions on the printer and finally put put it together.

Definitely some things I'd tweak if I use this template again. But overall I'm really happy with it, considering I went from absurd concept to finished card in five hours.

The plan is they'll use a D10 to move through the board. Gameplay is as follows:

- Passing a space with a gift on it earns them one of their presents.

- Landing on a regular blue space earns 3 kisses

- Landing on a Lucky Space starts a randomizer. They can earn candy or kisses or even chore vouchers, where I'll do a chore in their stead this week.

- Landing on Boo will let them 'steal' a gift from my Christmas horde early. So they get a bonus gift now vs waiting a month.

A tutorial for making an origami heart, something that I do not remember ever learning how to make and simply believe I was born knowing how to do.

The pocket on the back of the heart can be hooked onto the corner of a page in a book, so you can use it as a bookmark.

Birthday Card

It's my friend's birthday today! To celebrate we made her a card.

I didn't even know card sewing was a thing until looking for new ideas. I was actually able to do a lot myself (with J,L,B) which made it extra special.
