It had taken a moment to process what he had said, exactly. But when she realized the truth of it, she could feel that slight fluster of embarrassment. "Ah, well..." A silent huff came from her nose before she rubbed the back of her head with a chuckle. "Yeah, I think I get what you mean. Being able to see the people you care about smiling is one of the best feelings."

"Huh... That seems pretty cool!" She'll admit. While the idea of aliens was moreso questionable than anything else, she knew she didn't have the right to disbelieve something like that, either. She's seen... Plenty of odd and strange things being a Cardcaptor-

"I hope they're doing well now, then. It seems like they've done their share of saving the world and everything. Hopefully, they don't need to be pulled back into anything else."

"That would be pretty cool to do, honestly!" She chimed in at the thought. "I don't think the situation would be good if I had to do that, but meeting other heroes and people that work to help others is always nice. Maybe we can even become friends afterward!"

"Well... It would depend, I think." She let out a quiet chuckle at the thought of it. "If I'd seen the sign, I'd take the cat and look for it again to get into contact. If I happened to come across it, though... I'd look for tags before anything else. If they don't have tags but look well-kept, I'd take it home and try to look for their owner, so that they don't get hurt. I'm sure Dad and Touya wouldn't mind me keeping them for a couple days just to look for their owner."

She'd do anything she could for a lost cat. Or even strays, honestly. To try and find someone to take one in that needed help just felt... Right. "Everything deserves a good life, even animals like kitties and puppies."

"G-gh-ghosts?" She didn't think she'd be asked a question like that, especially right now. She was wondering if one of her friends was planning to try and play a prank on her... "I mean, ghosts are the unknown, right?... W-who knows what they're capable of, then! It's better to leave them be unless something reallllllly needs to be done, I think."

"I am, yeah!" She instinctively felt a smile forming on her face. "I can continue my club more often once school starts. And while everyone definitely has more free time, it gives us more chances to see one another and do things together. Another school year is sure to be another set of great memories to go with it!"

"Well... it depends, usually." She found herself gazing over at the other, "Most of the time, I'm able to have normal dreams like anyone else." Though, it seemed that she had to take a moment to think about how to further explain everything.

"I only have those odd, super aware dreams when big things are happening, either in my life or with magic in general... Though my dreams do get weird when I don't use magic at some point in the day sometimes. But I'm kinda used to that by now..."

"Kero would be all over me if he found out I was doing this..." She silently muttered to herself, using Sleep on her passed-out friend to keep her so. Normally, she'd just get help from someone else to get her to a doctor, given that she didn't exactly have anything to really help with first aid, even with her cards. But she could clean out the wound with watery and then bandage it up with something, instead of leaving it to fester.

But just to be on the safe side, Sleep should keep it so that the poor girl doesn't have to endure the pain of the cleaning.

Besides, the last thing she needed to do was to end up letting anyone else find out about her powers. As long as no one saw anything, it should be perfectly fine. And she couldn't find out about it if she was asleep.

"Well, yeah." She was a newer student, though Sakura knew better after what had happened previously. Not everyone was good, but not everyone was bad, either. Perhaps it wasn't as important during something like a trust fall compared to the magic business.

"It's just something that's a bit hard, is all. Your mind instinctively tried to make you catch yourself, even if you know someone is behind you, ready to catch." It was what made it interesting. A whole activity based on trusting the other person, while trying to put human instinct aside. A fairly difficult task...

"It really is, isn't it?" She couldn't stop the small smile from forming on her face. She had always found some things to be really interesting, even if she wasn't the best at science. "There are so many things that we can only guess, and some things where guessing isn't possible yet. It means anything is possible, perhaps even things more magical than magic."

She didn't know what was out there, but she hoped she could experience more as time went on.

"We'll be making cakes next week during school." Sakura pointed out, "If you don't manage to make one by then, that should sate the desire to." She wished that she had the baking supplies at home at the moment, but they were running a bit low on extra materials and had to focus on being able to feed everyone over inviting someone to make a cake.

"If I had some extra money, I'd go and get the materials and invite you over, but I already spent the last of it..."

"Yeah... I know." She forced up a small smile of reassurance. "You always do your best to take care of me. I just wish there was something I could do to repay it sometimes." She made him some food on occasion, but with her limited allowance and inability to work, it was difficult to come up with more meaningful ways to help him. He was living on his own, after all...

"We'll figure it out, I'm sure of it. Then we can resolve the issue and go back to the way everything was before."

the smile he aims at her is equal parts gentle and sorrowful . it's understandable , of course , that she can't guarantee her own safety -- but that alone eats at him . she's only a child . ( yue agrees with this , he knows intrinsically . )

without an answer -- because truly , he has none -- yukito disappears momentarily to grab an icepack . he places it against her injury with considerable care , worry pinching his brows ever so slightly .

" i know , " yukito says gently , lowering himself to look sakura in the eye . " i wish i had the answers . but ... no matter what , i promise to stay by your side . yue and i both . okay ? "

"That would be nice, wouldn't it?" They could all go on a trip once everything was back to normal. Usually, trips were related to school, so they couldn't quite make it like she's always wanted.

Although, she couldn't help but blink in confusion regarding his other statement. Tilting her head to the side, she asked, "When I smile? Why's that?"

" that sounds good to me , " yukito answers with a gentle -- somewhat somber -- chuckle . " i think we could both do with a little peace and relaxation , huh ? " he looks up at her then , smiling .

" -- oh , and don't worry . i get all the repayment i need when i see you smile , sakura - chan ! "

And that was where the issue came in. When it came to everything she was dealing with, she knew she could rely on others, and she usually did. But things are bound to go wrong, and people are going to get hurt. She sat down, of course, but she felt the difficulty of the request settle in.

"You know I can't promise that..." She responded, rather quiet compared to her usual self. "I always do my best to be careful, but sometimes it can't be helped. This is the first time I've gotten hurt this badly... I'd rather not get hurt like this ever again if I could help it." But her gaze moved back up towards him with a forced smile. "But with everything going on, I never know what's going to happen next. Everything's been so strange lately..."

it's a tough ask . yukito would feel terrible if touya were to find out they were keeping secrets -- especially when it comes to sakura's health . at the same time , he understands the girl's trepidation . touya is a little too keen , sometimes . it's tough to get anything past him ( again , especially when it comes to sakura ) .

" go have a seat , then , and i'll get you some ice . i'll keep this between us ... if you promise not to get any more hurt , okay ? "

Gaze moving back up toward him, Sakura found herself nodding. "It does... But it's gone down a lot since the time I had gotten it." She was grateful that she was able to keep it quiet until this point. "But ice would be nice." The more she could use to keep it down, the better. She didn't need her family to find out about this, otherwise, Touya would end up making assumptions, and her father would get worried sick.

"Could... Could you please not tell Touya? He'd start asking questions and I'm not sure I could get him to believe me if I made something up."

" it's alright , " yukito says gently as he leans down to examine sakura's injury . it looks awfully painful , already blooming several colors against the girl's skin , and yukito can't help a little empathetic wince as he gets a good look at it .

" thank you for showing me . i wish i could do more to help , but ... we can put some ice on it , at least ! does it hurt ? "
