poster series: hamlet
this one was more inspired by the swiss style — though elements of the polish poster school are still there.

January 17th, 1972; Hayden Hornet.
I am very normal about my characters.. Very! I’ll most likely drop his reference sheet a bit later, but for context I decided to experiment with my first welcome home character and give him a redesign! He’s actually an aviator, but I felt like being silly and dressing him up like he was a model <3
He deserves it! Anywhoo, I made an alternative version which you can see below, but I prefer the first.

From the Vault - School Project
Visual Perception — Book Cover Design Exploring Gestalt Principles Through Visual Storytelling
This is a book cover design project I was given, while at San Jose State University. It explores the concept of Visual Perception through the lens of Gestalt Psychology. The goal was to create a cover that not only reflects, but actively demonstrates, how the human brain organizes visual information—inviting viewers to engage with the design on a perceptual level.
Using principles like figure-to-ground, closure, similarity, and proximity, the design plays with ambiguity and illusion. A minimalist, high-contrast palette keeps the focus on form and structure, while fragmented typography and implied shapes encourage the viewer to “fill in the blanks.”
The result was a sleek, intellectual cover using typography that sparks curiosity and rewards closer inspection. The idea was to call out the title of the book while offering a visual experience that mirrors the very ideas the book would explore.
Deliverables: – Front cover design – Spine (Side cover) – Print mockup

poster series: king lear
gray and cold day. not much else to say. another poster — king lear. didn’t turn out as sharp as the previous ones. next time I’ll try to make it rougher.
thanks for the activity on the last post.

Embargo Elegance
Tumblr media
A heavy velvet cloak adorned with broken chains and lock motifs, representing embargoes and restricted goods. The dramatic silhouette exudes both defiance and resignation.

"A bold commentary on what it means to be locked out of the global economy. Nothing says ‘sanctions’ like a cloak of broken promises!"
