There are two statements I've seen made unironically in online spaces toward some fairly benign audiences during the past few years that have stayed with me in the worst possible obsessive way--
"Reading and writing negative criticism is fun."
and
"Why am I saying this about you? Well, social media was made for poking the bear. Why are you bothered? Just enjoy your win."
...I mean, JFC people, just come right out and say what you truly mean: "I enjoy hurting other people and watching them squirm."
Fucking sadism, normalized. "Troll" or "trolling" are not adequate terms. It's casual emotional and psychological abuse, and people fail to see it for what it is because of that casual attitude. I hate it, and I hate the brand of human being that has normalized it. The concept of being generally decent toward others has escaped them, or they feel it's beneath them somehow, and yet they retain a following.
No exaggeration. I *hate* them.
#One occured in a fandom.#The other occured in a debate about severe weather research methods.#The tone and intent were the same in both--not constrctive.#Highly implicit of a strong desire to drag and degrade those who dared to enjoy a thing or take pride in a hard-won accomplishment.#I hate them. People who engage in or enjoy witnessing casual emotional abuse are fucking assholes.#They make me want and hope for Karma to be real.#vent post#garbage humanity

So why would you even post something that you know people will retaliate against? Just because someone says “no hate, just truth” it doesn’t mean that’s true. There’s a difference between a constrctive opinion and straight up bullshit and this blog sometimes smells of the latter. I’d say no hate just truth but there’s a bit of hate. Like come on, that post was foul and you know it.
So you want me to delete posts because you feel like it was mean to Lauren? Anon said Lauren wasn’t living up to the hype and her fans were mad. I said I think they’re happy. Tell me anon what is appropriate to publish. Can I post…I didn’t like what Lauren wore or is that too hateful. If someone says I’m not feeling her music. Is that too hateful? Where should the censorship begin and end? Should we only post things that are glowing about all 4 girls and delete everything else? -j

Hi there, just wanted to tell you your characters are great as is, if calling them one trick ponies and joke characters is meant to be constructive criticism then that must mean hitler wasn't all that bad of a guy. Those comments are in no way constrctive and can hardly be considered criticism. Just wanted to tell you that, keep up the great work.
((Oh thanks! I appreciate the comments-
((From what I recall hearing before on videos the type of criticism given then was destructive? I feel the characters were in a inbetween state, they were alright- maybe just a few tweaks.
((Though looking at it in present time I can see what you mean. One of my friends looking at the blogs assumes maybe the anon assumed that these characters had only one single trait since maybe I haven’t shown much of arcs of their personalities
