how to create something without hating it
a 5-step survival guide for artists, writers, thinkers, and over-editors.
(aka: how to make stuff when your perfectionism is louder than your ideas.)
→ save this for when you feel stuck.
→ share with the friend who “used to draw.”
→ step one is the hardest.

Dust, Wires, and Hope: Help Us Finish Vagabond Home
We’re making a weird little sci-fi western, and it’s nearly there.
Vagabond Home is a short film about survival, memory, busted electronics, and reluctant connection. It’s quiet, dusty, strange—and full of heart. Think crumbling tech, half-melted rations, and two lost souls wired into a fading system.
We’ve got the script. We’ve shot the first scenes. We’ve built the world. Now we just need a little help to finish the job.

What we need:
Gear rentals & basic production costs
Editing & sound design
Festival submissions & outreach
A little wind in our sails
We’re using Ko-fi to raise micro-funds. Every bit goes directly into the project—and supporters get updates, credits, and our eternal gratitude. If you want to help bring a dusty dream to life, or just support some low-budget sci-fi with soul:

More results from yesterdays watercolor practice session focusing on creating boke results. This time I played around with using drafting dots, frisket and lifting with a stencil and sponge.

This oil painting captures a tender moment of calm joy — a man smiling softly next to a classic wooden nutcracker toy. There’s nostalgia, winter warmth, and a touch of surreal stillness in this piece. Inspired by childhood memories, seasonal rituals, and quiet love.
Medium: oil on canva
Year: 2025
(Available soon on Etsy!)

"What a funny thing painting is. The abstract painters always insist on their connection with the visible reality, while the so called figurative artists insist that what they really care about, is the abstract qualities of life." Alanis on writing Ironic (Howard Stern, 2004)
“We were just trying to make each other laugh—never even thought about irony. That’s probably the most ironic thing about the song.” She nearly cut it from the album. Her producer said, “This is the best one.”
Alanis: “Okay… I’ve been wrong before.”
