I have four other crochet projects I should be working on but I had an idea for a pattern this morning that I want to try and it’s all I can think about, even though I’m pretty sure I don’t have the right yarn on hand.

Gonna get around to posting this other places for a hand but could/does anyone have a clue about this crochet pattern??

Despite being a knitter more than a crocheter mom wants me to attempt a repair. The blanket was made in the 80s (I think) by her grandma so I don't have the og pattern used for the stitches. BUT if I could figure out the pattern, or a close enough clue I'd be better equipped to attempt a fix.

I had this idea, because I was doing some crochet.

A reader who had made a lot of crochet stuff for all the X-MEN (most of it was requested from them to the reader) and Logan noticed everyone had something handmade except him. His bratty side kicks in and he wants something from the reader. (though the reader can make him a cardigan cause he is a grandpa or like a glove that has holes for his claws so he doesn't reap them apart) you can go feral with it 👀

Headcanons

Theres too many x-men, so I just,,,added my faves *blush blush* I also decided to write a little thing for everybody, like my CoD posts.

Crochet was your passion, something to do in your free time when mutant-kind wasn’t in danger. And with online shopping, it was so easy to get all the yarn and different hooks, patterns and recipes you might need.

So, of course you also feel the need to make stuff for all the people you care about. After filling your own room and wardrobe with all the stuff you could crochet, your yarn empire started to fill your friends closets and rooms too.

Scott Summers

For Scott you end up crocheting a couple of hats, and multiple pairs of gloves. Some you already had laying around, and just decided to throw into the pile.

What could you say? You were scared he was gonna freeze his ears when he went around in his visor. This meant you crocheted different hats depending on if he wore his visor or his shades, hats that wouldn’t get too in the way.

It was a little hard for Scott to be a leader in the colorful creations you made, but everyone knew it was just your way of showing you cared. So, it made sense for the leader of the team to get the first gifts.

After a while Scott will wear the things, you make even if it isn’t too cold outside, even working it into his everyday outfits if he needs a little bit of accessories. Sometimes a hat really helps with the look, you know?

Kurt Wagner

For Kurt you make a scarf. It was a crochet of the moment. You two were on a stakeout, which took way longer than planned, in a pretty cold place. So, you pulled out your crochet stuff and started going at it.

Before you knew it, there was a comfortable scarf in your hands. You had been smart enough to dress correctly for the mission, but Kurt hadn’t, so of course the scarf when around his neck. You may also have scolded him a bit for not dressing right for the mission.

Kurt absolutely loves the scarf, and will wear it whenever its even just a little chilly outside. It makes you want to make him even more, especially when he starts getting sad about the first one fraying apart.

In the end he has as many scarfs as Scott has hats. One for every weather, in different colors, so he can match them with whatever he’s wearing.

Remy LeBeau(and Anna Marie)

For Remy you end up making him a hoodie, in his usual colors. It had mainly been a spur of the moment creation on your end, since you just had a lot of yarn in that color laying around.

It hadn’t even really been made with Remy in mind, but our beloved Cajun was quick to swoop in and take it off your hands when you weren’t sure what to do with it. and you, just wanting to make stuff for others, are more than happy to let him.

He wouldn’t wear it every day, but you do see him snuggle up in the warm yarn hoodie whenever it starts to get chilly. Hes also more than happy to use it as an excuse to snuggle with Anna Marie, using it as some kind of silly flirt.

In the end you make Anna Marie a matching hoodie, making it a little too big for her, as well as making it the same colors as Remy, so they can switch hoodies whenever they want. Its kinda like getting to hug Remy, in a way, so Anna Marie enjoys it.

Robert “Bobby” Drake

You make Bobby a blanket, it’s as easy as that. You actually end up making him multiple blankets. You didn’t really have an understanding if his mutation made him even able to feel cold, or if it made him feel extra cold?

So, the first blanket was placed by the door to his room, since you didn’t wanna invade his privacy. Bobby may not feel cold, but he loves the blanket anyways, especially since you try your best to make it in his favorite colors, or featuring different stuff he likes.

Its actually Bobby that asks if you can make him a second blanket, since he needs to wash the first one and has gotten so used to having the heavy yarn blanket on top of his other blankets at night. And you, being the great person you are, immediately get to work.

He ends up with a bit of a collection of blankets over the years, though most of them stay in his closet since he can’t really use all of them at once. He does pull them out when the x-men are doing movie nights and stuff like that though.

Logan Howlett

It took a while for Logan to realize he was the only one who hadn’t been given anything you crocheted. And… He’s not mad obviously, why would he be, it’s just crochet. He’s maybe a little jealous though, somewhere under all that gruffness.

He wouldn’t say anything, Logans way too proud for that, but he does start hovering around a bit whenever you crochet, just to look… nothing else.

There are also of course some jokes from the others about how he hasn’t been given anything, so you must not like him, or it’s because he’s always coming and going as he pleases so he’s never there at the right time to swoop in for the kill (whatever you made).

Of course, he denies hating you, or wanting anything you make. But the jokes just reach you, and it horrifies you somewhat. What if Logan really thinks you hate him? That would be the worst, because of course you don’t. the only reason you hadn’t made anything for him was because he wasn’t in front of your face, and you were a little scatterbrained when you made stuff.

You didn’t want to be too obvious about your plans, so you try to subtly get his measurements, and just kinda go off of that. Luckily the x-men system has some stuff you can use noted down. In the end you make him a nice grey cardigan, with those big pockets on the sides. It does not go above your head that it’s the kinda stuff you’d see a grandpa wear. But you think he would like it anyway.

Logan finds the cardigan by his door, like you leave all your gifts. And no, he doesn’t jump up and down or cheer, but he does give a more positive sounding gruff noise than usual.

He may also have been preening just a little the next day when he wore it, just because it felt nice to be thought about, okay? Nothing else.

It also just makes you happy to see him enjoy it so much, so you end up making him some other stuff too. Who’d have thought he would love blankets and throwpillows so much. It ends up in his “not a nest” bed pile. He also enjoys the gloves with holes for his claws too, so they were worth all the hard work.

“You know, we both have driver’s rooms for this sort of thing,” you breathed, giggling when Charles’ facial hair tickled your neck. 

His mouth sucked gently on the pulse point thrumming beneath his tongue, tracing kisses from your ear down to your collarbone. The stack of worn tyres cushioned your back as he pressed your harder against them when you reached around to pinch his backside. 

“Oi, I’m talking to you.” 

“I’m sorry, mon ange, but you looked so good when you were giving that interview. And you kept laughing-”

“Oh, so it’s not that I’m so irresistible that you couldn't wait until we were safely in the garage. It’s that you were jealous.” You raised an eyebrow at him, unable to fight the smile at his rougish grin. 

“You are irresistible,” he murmured, hands snaking around your waist to pull you flush against him. “Why else would I be making out with you in an alley behind the motorhome?”

“Because you’re a horndog.” 

You and Charles had been dating for the past year, having met after he caught you winding up his younger brother one race weekend. Ferrari had been eyeing you up all year, asking the Monagesque what he thought of you, prompting him to pay closer attention. Prior to you signing your contract, you’d had to disclose your relationship to Fred Vasseur. Whilst the senior members of the team were aware of your more-than-teammates status, the majority of the paddock were in the dark. Both of you wished to keep the relationship under wraps until your rookie year in F1 had passed, reducing speculation that Charles was the only reason you got your seat. Sneaking around the motorhome was a lot safer than making out behind tyre stacks, but Charles didn’t care at this moment in time. 

“You going to be nice and let me win today?” He teased, nibbling at your lower lip. 

“I think you mean, am I going to let you massage my feet after I win? I won here last year.”

“Yes, yes, bow down to you.”

“Well, I do like you on your knees.” 

Grinning, Charles captured your lips with his once more. Tongue swiping against your bottom lip, he groaned against you when your tongue met his. Hands snaking into his hair, you tugged gently on the soft strands, enjoying the whimper you pulled from his lips. He tilted his hips, pressing himself against you. 

“The things you do to me.”

A loud cough - more of a throat clearing - tore the two of you apart. Wide eyed and panting, you both turned in horror to look at the misfortune person who stumbled across you. Fred Vasseur stood at the end of the alleyway, shaking his head at his two drivers. It was bad enough watching them make heart eyes at each other during data reviews but this. Behind him stood a cameraman and a mic guy, mouths agape at their luck. Drive to Survive would be flooded with viewers once they teased this. Breaking News: Ferrari drivers caught locking lips in secret tryst. 

“I’ve got Netflix following me around today.” Fred said bluntly, staring you both down. 

“Oh crap.”

“Yeah.”

Heart's field of flowers

Islette yawned, rubbing her eyes as she waddled out in the early mornings, look for her parent, you. But at this point she knew where to find you, so she even ignored her maids at times.

As she waddles the halls, gently climbing down the stair, her small feet pattering before she paused to rub her eyes, pushing the door to the back courtyard.

You were sitting in the grass on a gingham patterned mat with flowers and leaves crocheted at the edges of the mat, as she yawned stretching her shoulders. Seeing you, as she rubbed the eye boogers out, she smiled, skipping down the stairs and running across the grass to you,

"Nini!!"

She smiled brightly, climbing onto your back as you let out a little 'oof!-' at the impact of her, but smiled,

"Oh, good morning to the little lady!~"

You smiled and cooed to her, turning from your position where you laid on your tummy to your back, holding her close as she gently swung her legs back and forth, laying on your tummy, her silver hair in a tight, oiled braid.

Her red eyes bright at seeing you, as you smiled, pulling a stray flower and putting it in her braid as she giggled, "Ooo, pretty!" she smiled brightly, tracing the petals of the flower in her hair. She was healing pretty well, though she often asked to send letters to Celphius.

You smiled, humming as you both laid in the early morning, a bit cold so you fit her into your shawl robes, peppering kisses on her cheeks and tickling her as she giggled as you smiled.

"Nini, what are you doing?" she asked softly after she stopped laughing but a bright smil still fixd on heer lips, sitting beside you as you smiled,

"Braiding a flower-crown."

You smiled, showing twines and large bunch of wild flowers with their bendy stems. As she gasped in mesmerization, you let her play with flowers carefully while she tried to copy your technique after you did first few braids for her.

She got bored of it quickly, but still continued to talk to you about her dreams she had last night while attempting to braid some sort of flower crown, while you helped her occasionally while making a larger one yourself.

A large gingham patterned mat laid under you and Islette for you to rest on, so it was soft on her. Smiling you continued to twisted the soft bendy, green stems of the flowers, pulling off the thorns or branches you didn't need and hummed. Leaning back as Islette watched you closely,

"Nini, yours is pretty!" she said brightly making you smile, "Thank you, sweetheart." you hummed, letting your shawl's end laying on her shoulder in case it got cold.

Islette hummed, abandoning hers in your safety so you could help her with it. Humming, as the sounds of footsteps, calls, laughs and whatnot around the manor put your mind at ease.

It was far nicer now, though you weren't sure if those were sounds of people going about their business or rapidly looking for something.

As the sun began rising high, the sky was clearing and th wind was warmer, Islette had you help her fix the flower crown and draw the flowers into the crown.

While working, you abandoned yours half-way to help Islette with her own, incase she began to get frustrated and cry and you didn't really want that. As you fixed it for her and turned around to pull another flower, you felt Islette place her own onto your head.

"There! Now you look pretty, Nini!" Islette smiled as you grinned, placing it back on her own head, "You look prettier in it, Isle!" you smiled, kissing her cheek as she giggled.

She stood up, and posing like a little diva as you grinned. Almost entertaining, you figured you were rubbing off on her hair..Phineas would be so exasperated with this, but you couldn't help but laugh.

You and her sat there, picking flowers and grass when your head maid put down some plates of treats for her as Islette pulled a treat, eating as you brushed her little nightgown of the crumbs.

You hummed, the few birds pecking at the the crumbs which spilled on the grass after you brushed them off. Of-course a pesky bird or two pecked, taking the last treat from your the plate.

Islette almost giggled, but grumbled too, "Awwhhh, I wanted the last one!" she pouted as you shrugged,

"And that's why you don't at things while walking" You hummed as Islette waved off the birds from the mat and you leaned clos, kissing her cheek again.

You would have enjoyed the tranquility, when—

"Don't you think you should inform someone Iselette is with you so maids aren't running rampant?"

Phineas looked like he had been through hell and back with how panicked he looked.

His usual long hair now slightly messed up and dust collected on his head and white overcoat. If you didn't know any better, you figured he had been living in the forest multiple days.

Isleett flinched back when she met Phineas's tired scarlet-red eyes, but calmed down when she realized it was Phineas.

She had been slowly calming herself around thee Lapileon eyes, the scarlet-red still scared her, sometimes even her own reflection. Though she was getting used to it to the point Phineas could walk around without a mask or those weird glasses.

But really, he seemed far more relaxed now that Islette and you were under his eyes, you had been rubbing off on her. You both were far too delicate and far too important in his eyes to be left alone.

You gave a sheepish smile and sat up, pulling Islette onto your lap and into your shawl again as you pushed off you flower-crown off your lap and fixed the one Islette was wearing, making Islette giggle.

Islette's attention fell up as she grinned and waddled up to Phineas who scooped her up, holding her close as he sat down, heavy and tired from looking for you two, "Are you alright?" he asked Islette, cupping her cheeks as she smiled brightly

"We're making flower crowns!" she said brightly as you held up your own, half-made and somewhat falling apart if you weren't quick enough and hurriedly began to work on it and braid it tighter.

After somehow finishing it quickly and making it look presentable, you fixed a few more flowers with fuller petals to hide any haphazard mistakes. You put down the crown and you crawled closer as Phineas pulled you into a hug as well,

"Atleast inform me before leaving.." he huffed as you grinned sheepish, fixing your lacy clothes, adorned with real pressed flowers, covered in resin to last infinitely longer. Phineas had them done for you.

"Papa, flower crowns!!" Islette repeated to get his attentions back onto them since she felt proud of making them. She began showing off her own flower crown you put on earlier that Islette had made when you stood on your knees and fixed the one you made onto Phineas' head as he glanced up at your head.

His hand softly stroking your hip as you fixed the flower crown while making sure his hair wouldn't get tangled in it, as you finally sat down, admiring the yellow and white flowers adorn Phineas's head..

He looked like an angel..

You almost felt bad, scaring him so much, leaving him before he woke up, leaving him to be scared somthing happened to you and Islett since you both were gone.

"I will..sorry, did I scare you?"

"Well, what do you think, sweetheart?"

You smiled, pecking Phineas' lips as Islette tilted her head curiously, thankfully she wasn't like Celphius who made gagging noises or yelled 'eww' when couples kissed.

Though you're sure Phineas would've preferred that more for his 'little girl' to hate love. But for now, he was content with her looking away.

Based on the following ask: I have a request that may be a little difficult for you to write, if you're up for it. I would like to request Hotch with a non-bau reader that likes to crochet in their spare time, particularly stuffed animals, and gift them to others. Jack and Hotch would obviously receive the majority of the amigurumi projects, but one day, the reader makes too many little crochet animals and persuades Hotch to take them to work and hand them out to other agents. You wouldn't have to go too into depth about the crocheting techniques if you don't think you could properly write about it; you could honestly just mention the creation period in passing and the present the finished crochet piece in the plot.

You had picked up crocheting back when you were in college. Then, and even now it served as an outlet to release stress and anxiety. When you had started out your projects were fairly simple, wash cloths, granny squares, simple blankets.

The beauty of this hobby was that it allowed for some beautiful handmade gifts. As time went on, you began making stuffed animals. Your sister had gifted you a book with patterns for amigurumi projects, and from then on you’d been making all sorts of little creatures.

The primary recipients of your creations had been your nieces and nephews. First it was their baby blankets, then elephants, and turtles, which turned into cows and opossums, and most recently Pokémon.

When you and Aaron started dating you’d mentioned your hobby in passing, but as things progressed in your relationship, crocheting seemed to come out a little more in you. You’d casually pull out a project while watching a movie with Aaron and Jack, you’d brought over a throw blanket for the back of the couch. You’d even gifted Aaron a scarf and some socks before he left for a case in Colorado in the dead of winter.

One night after finishing a plushie of Charmander for your nephew, Jack spoke up…soft and unsure.

“That’s really cool.” He whisper.

“Thanks bud, do you like Charmander?” You replied.

“Kinda…I don’t really play Pokémon that much.” He shrugged.

“Oh yeah, what do you like then?” You smiled.

“I like spiderman!” Jack exclaimed.

A few days later you’d showed up with a stuffed spiderman for Jack. He was over the moon and from then on, he wasn’t afraid to ask you directly for something.

He was an incredible kid, he’d patiently wait for you to complete the project, even asking you questions throughout the process.

“And what kind of stitch is that?” He’d ask.

“This one here is a half double crochet.” You answered.

“And that’s different than a single crochet?”

“Yes, for a half double, you put the yarn over and then pull it through all three loops. You see that?” You asked, holding the project up as you showed him how to do it.

That night you hopped online and ordered Jack a Woobles crochet kit so he could learn alongside you.

For as long as you’d been crocheting, people have suggested you open an Etsy shop, and you always met them with the same response; it’ll lose the serenity it currently brings me. And this is why you only make small batches for two local boutiques.

Once a month you make a few things for each shop, and you go in and drop them off. As they sell, the profits are split 60/40 between you and the shops, which gives you the money for yarn and a little extra.

In the last week, you’d made a wide variety of stuffed animals, ranging anywhere from dinosaurs and bunnies all the way to peas in a pod and cherries. You had been packing everything up to get ready to deliver them.

“Hey sweetheart.” Aaron called as you entered the apartment.

“Hi honey.” You set your tote bin down and made your way to the kitchen.

“How were the deliveries?” He asked, wrapping his arms around your waist.

“They were good! I actually came home with a few things. With the Holidays just ending, one of the shops still had a few items and so they didn’t need their usual stock.” You explained.

“Oh, well now you’ll have some for next time?” He offered.

“You know, next time it’ll be Easter themed stuff…chicks and bunnies. What if you took some of these in for the BAU?” You suggested. “I can wrap one up for each of them and you can leave them on their desks for me.”

“I’m not sure…”

“Oh, please Aaron! Think of it as a late Christmas gift from me! I’ll even write them notes so they know it’s from me!”

“Sweethe-”

“Please!” You begged.

“Okay sweetheart. Whatever you want.” Aaron pressed a kiss to your forehead.

The next morning Aaron arrived at work even earlier than usual, that way he could place the brightly colored bags on everyone’s desks prior to their arrival. You had selected a specific plush for each person, even pulling from some other projects you had stored for an event you’d be participating in.

One by one, each member of the BAU arrived, quickly taking note of the giftbags on each desk. They shared confused glances and shrugged before Aaron stepped out of his office.

“There should be a note in each bag. Feel free to open them and enjoy.” He said, returning to his office.

Aaron smiled gently, toying with the crocheted whale shark you snuck into his bag. You always said he, like whale sharks frightened people, due to preconceived notions derived from fear, but in all actuality, they were gentle creatures.

Aaron’s smile only grew as he heard Garcia squeal with joy over the soft unicorn you’d gifted her.

Hello 🤗 If you're interested, may I please request headcanons for the Strawhats with a crewmate that likes to crochet, and their "comfort crochet" pattern is a manatee? So the ship slowly fills up with amigurumi manatees of various colors and sizes. Thank you, friend!

Luffy is the worst to crochet around cuz he is a person that makes it impossible to relax with and focus on a task in silence. Luffy of course catches onto your habit of comfort crochet, and when he’s really, REALLY bored, that’s about the only time he’ll sit still and watch you. Which is how you know he’s truly suffering from boredom. Beyond this, Luffy likes your little hobby and thinks your little manatees are cute!

Zoro doesn’t care too much for the hobby itself and probably pokes fun at you and calls you a granny regardless of your age or gender, (though if you really are uncomfy with the term because of gender identity he’s just gonna use gramps instead) he doesn’t actually mind your hobby or anything he’s just really terrible at bonding and connecting with people. Zoro probably yells at you as to why there’s a million manatees in his room but it’s not serious.

Sanji thinks it’s cute! He likes watching you crochet and might ask to do it with you. He doesn’t know anything about it but is more than happy to learn. In return he’ll teach you how to cook. If you’re making an excessive amount of manatees he will probably ask if you need a hug.

Usopp finds this really cute but probably teases you about it sometimes. He’s just poking fun at you though nothing serious. He’ll actually tell you he thinks your manatees are adorable and asks you to make him one, and then he keeps it by his sleeping quarters FOREVER. He takes the time to learn how to crochet on his own to impress you and give you one!

Nami thinks it’s cute, and over time watching you do it she slowly learns how to do it herself! She assumes you just really love manatees or something, so one day she just buys you a bracelet with manatees on it.

Vivi will talk to you while you crochet. She also finds this really cute and you’ve made her a lot of blue manatees. Even after separating from the crew she still has all your manatees with her, in her room.

Robin watches you crochet. You tend to spend time together by you crocheting and her reading. One day she asks you casually, “will you ever make me one?” And then just laughs affectionately to herself when she finds a purple one in her bag the next morning.

Franky wishes he could do it with you, but, he just can’t get a handle on it at all. Perhaps his hands are too big for it, but that leaves you with a lot of other questions on your mind. That being said, while Franky can be considered an “obnoxious” fellow, he is perfectly capable of being quiet and tinkering away while you crochet. He asks you to make him some all the time.

Brook asks you to make him a pink one. That being said he finds it cute. Manatees and whales are different creatures, but the dark blue manatee you made for him reminds him of Laboon, and it means a lot to him.

Jinbe loves it. It’s only natural, he is a fishman so he likes the manatees a lot, reminds him of childhood. He thinks your hobby is sweet, and often sits with you in a comfortable silence as you crochet. He didn’t know how to at first, but over time he learns with you, and he’ll crochet for you as well!
