There is a pair of crows that visits my house every day for peanuts and I haven't fully gained their trust but their companionship has been so so so so nice. I have something I actually look forward to, I'm forced to go in front of my home every day (used to be terrifying, now just kinda stressful), and I have really cool friends that I didn't meet through my sisters!!

Befriending the crows at my school.

This will be a journal/log and will hopefully be updated frequently.

Day 1:

The crows are still very terrified of me and anybody else but I will go up to some packaged foods/sealed packages and open it for them. Hopefully this catches on. They seem to be interested in what I'm doing and like the opened food.

The Crows on my School campus are adorable. I love crows. Corvids in general. I want a crow to be my friend. I want to befriend a crow. I will be a woman who just has a bunch of crows following me.

Any tips of befriending crows? Other than giving them shiny things? Im trying to befriend with shiny shit. But I also like my shiny shit. Im probably part Corvid with how much I collect shiny things.

Is your crow headband handmade?

The headband itself isn't anything special... When I'm getting ready in the morning, I slip the feather underneath. Not handmade. But I've never seen anyone else do it.

If you want to do the same, I recommend you google "crow feather". You'll find shops if you know where to look.

Side note: crows are extremely intelligent birds. They can even understand the concept of "zero"... It's impressive.

Perhaps someday, they may even supplant us.

The Crow

I sit in silence staring out the window hoping for guidance my head remains in limbo

the clouds hang low dark as ash the fog creeps in so slow in the sky there is a flash

I hear a crow far away, with a grating cry  that chills my bones without delay. The sight makes me shiver as I wonder why. Why do you circle my house that way?

The fog creeps closer, closer, closer My thoughts race. Will I be caught by it? No sir. I run quickly, quickly, quickly away from the place

The clouds darken the sky the fog hurries towards me I’m surrounded so I start to say goodbye. My mind is full, thoughts swarming within me.

The lightning strikes, the thunder claps The crow cries This is it, perhaps The little songbird appears, bringing the clear skies.

I relish the sun,  the blue skies,  the warmth. I hope the songbird is here to stay.

Sadly there is no food around today, and it's pretty empty. The seagulls are taking a lot of the food smashed onto the ground and the crows are pretty skittish around them. I hope next time there will be more bonding opportunities 😔
