Skincare Bootcamp: The Hayden Christensen Experience

Pairing: Hayden Christensen x Younger Wife!Reader
Genre: Comedy, Domestic Fluff, Love and Glow-ups
Word Count: ~3,100
Summary: he’s throwing you a weekend spa retreat in your own house. There are printed schedules. There are robes. There is a rogue duck slipper. You never knew you needed this but you are LIVING.
Ps. His nuts are on fully display again
You woke up to the smell of eucalyptus and a sticky note stuck to your forehead.
That was the first sign.
You peeled it off groggily and blinked at the handwritten all-caps message:
“BOOTCAMP BEGINS AT 9AM. STRETCH. HYDRATE. NO CHEATING.”
Signed: Your Glow-Up General
You rolled over in bed and found that Hayden was… not there. Suspicious. Rare. Usually, he was the one still snoring into your shoulder.
Then, another post-it fell from your nightstand drawer as you opened it:
“We begin with warm lemon water. You’re behind already.”
PS: No coffee until after lymphatic drainage.
You burst out laughing.
There was only one explanation for this:
Skincare Hayden was back and he had taken over your weekend.
You shuffled out of bed and down the hallway, wrapped in your robe and yawning and that’s when you saw it.
The living room spa.
He had transformed your cozy den into a luxury bootcamp paradise.
There were:
• Folded towels arranged into swans. SWANS.
• A wooden tray with cut-up cucumbers floating in ice water.
• A schedule printed and laminated with full itinerary blocks titled “Glow Goals,” “Pore War II,” and “Mask Meditation Hour.”
• An exfoliation station labeled with a SHARPIE-DRAWN SIGN that said “SCRUB 4 YOUR LIFE.”
And then—
There he was.
Hayden Christensen, 44 years old, heartthrob, former Sith Lord and current DIY spa daddy wearing a plush white robe, your quacking duck slippers, and a fuzzy gray headband with little bear ears on it.
He held a clipboard.
There was sheet music playing softly in the background.
He looked deadly serious.
You blinked. “…Hi?”
He turned slowly. “You’re late for Bootcamp.”
You squinted at him. “Is that spa pan flute music playing?”
“Spa Pan Flute Volume 3,” he corrected. “The Deluxe Edition.”
You snorted. “What is this?”
Hayden strode toward you like a man on a mission, clipboard in hand. “This is a full skincare weekend. You’ve been working nonstop, we both needed a break, and frankly—” he tapped the itinerary— “we’re overdue for some exfoliation. I saw your T-zone, baby. It’s crying out.”
You laughed so hard you nearly spilled your cucumber water. “You made a schedule?”
“You better believe it,” he said proudly. “There’s a 2PM ‘serum layering challenge’ and a couples’ face yoga seminar I’ve been researching all week.”
“You researched this?”
“I watched a ten-part YouTube series called The Glow Within. I’ve taken notes.”
You were speechless. Mostly because he looked so earnest.
He handed you your own robe—a fresh, fluffy one with a nametag stuck to the chest that read Private Glowy—and gently guided you toward the “refreshment station.”
As you sipped cucumber water (which he insisted was “infused with intention”), Hayden walked you through the plan like he was briefing you for battle.
“We’ll start with warm compresses, then double-cleanse with the La Roche-Po-Say—” He paused, squinting. “La… Roach… Pussay?”
You doubled over, laughing.
“No! La Roche-Posay!” you corrected through your wheezing.
He nodded gravely. “Right. French for ‘fancy, expensive water goo.’”
He picked up the bottle and studied it again.
“I still don’t think I want roach pussy on my face.”
You choked.
“ROCHE, HAYDEN! ROCHE!”
He made a face. “Too close. I don’t like it. I’m calling it the French Goo.”
You gave up. “Fine. French Goo it is.”
The rest of the day was absolute chaos—and you loved every second.
He guided you through:
• A synchronized serum slapping contest.
• Matching green clay masks.
• A DIY foot soak station made with Epsom salts and “spiritual clarity” (aka, peppermint oil and Hayden whispering affirmations over the tub).
• Sheet masks that made you both look like creepy ghosts but he still kissed your nose through his like it was nothing.
At one point, you found him standing in the bathroom mirror, adjusting his bear headband and murmuring, “If I don’t moisturize within 12 seconds of washing, what am I even doing?”
Later, during your scheduled “Relaxation Hour,” you came back from changing clothes and found him mid-face massage… completely spread-eagled on the couch, cucumber slices over his eyes, a gentle flute solo playing from his phone speaker—and one duck slipper falling off his foot.
You tilted your head. “You know I can see your nuts and all, right?”
He froze.
Then peeked one eye open. “What?”
You nodded solemnly. “They are out. Fully out.”
He shifted under the robe. “Oh. That’s… unfortunate.”
“You’re just—on display.”
“I’m exfoliating.”
“You’re exfoliating and flashing the neighborhood.”
“I’m vulnerable right now.”
You crawled into the couch beside him and kissed his cheek. “And very, very soft.”
He wrapped an arm around you, tucking you under the robe with him. “I just want you to feel good. About yourself. About us. About your skin. And your feet. And everything else.”
You smiled into his neck. “I already do. But this? This is top-tier husband material.”
“You say that now, but wait until ‘Glowlympics’ tomorrow. I made a trivia game about your pores.”
“You made a what—”
DAY TWO involved:
• A “blindfolded cleanser identification” game.
• A “serum relay” where Hayden slipped and nearly took out your DIY exfoliation bar.
• A round of spa trivia that he cheated on and still lost.
But the best part?
It was just being with him. Laughing with him. Watching him take something as small as your skincare routine and turning it into an act of pure love.
Because that’s who he was.
Hayden Christensen, 43, your glow-up general, the man who wore duck slippers and bear headbands and planned full weekends of pampering—not for himself, but for you.
So that you’d always remember: you were loved. Completely. Loudly. Softly.
And maybe just a little exfoliated.

# 𝗚𝗥𝟲𝟯 ─── STUPID IN LOVE WITH YOU BON APPETIT FICS . . . MASTERLIST . . . TAGLIST . . . AO3
GEORGE RUSSELL IS HOPELESSLY in love with you. a few headcanons on how he acts when he's with you. this is part as an extra of the bon appetit series but can be read without reading it.
TAGS . . . # female reader, pining george, reader may or may not be oblivious TYPE OF FIC . . . # headcanons, imagine, bon appetit; extra LENGTH . . . # ten headcanons/imagines, 779 words
pining!george where he tries to act casual when he invites you out, saying that he's bored and you're free. he's attempting to be real subtle about the way he texts, 'Yeah no, I don't have anything to do :/ Wanna hang?' but really he's pacing back and forth seeing if you've responded
pining!george saying that he's not needy or clingy. but it's in the small things like brushing up against your shoulder. guiding you by the shoulder when walking somewhere. random pictures or texts in the middle of the day; sometimes it's his wheels and the other times the helmet's marks. he can't stand not talking to you.
pining!george always tries to learn everything you like. 'What's your favourite band? Oh, the Cannons? Oh I'm pretty sure I've listened to their songs a few times before' and lies for a little bit about not remembering the song and is glad when you autofill the information for him. the next day he tells you he listened to them again and you talk about their music. it's these things he always want to impress you.
pining!george invites you out for the race weekends. weekends. multiple. he invites you to practically each one that everyone calls you the newest wag on the paddock. he never denies the rumour, just saying that it's not the media's problems to meddle in your relationship. but he lives for that attention, for people thinking you two look great together. he never brings it up in fear that you would think it's weird.
pining!george isn't the best guy at DIYs. however, friendship bracelets have been all over his feed lately and you've liked them all. he's never seen you with one on despite your interest. he buys an entire kit and with it multiple trinkets of different designs. when he gifts you your first friendship bracelet, it spells out his nickname for you designed with trinkets that resemble racing. he's obsessed with making them when your reaction to that one was absolutely golden.
pining!george is a fashion icon, everyone knows that. but when he's with you he's learned to adopt to your style instead. grunge? he's sporting a beanie and a spiked belt for the first time in his life. dark academia? bring back the long dark brown coats and sweaters. rockstars? you don't believe your eyes when you see george russel wearing a low tank top and patterened pants. he expanded his closet just to match your taste
pining!george is very much interested in your job. it doesn't matter whether or not you really like it, he makes it so that you enjoy it and is in awe of the things you do. oh, you travel around for catering services? he asks you to come over to cater for mercedes instead, saying that your cooking is probbaly the best thing that could come into the paddock.
pining!george of course loves your cooking. it doesn't really matter how good your cooking really is, it's like you make everything taste good. he feels like eating in your presence just makes everything taste like it's a godsent meal. no restaurant compares to you, though. he keeps saying it after he tasted your food, 'They added too much salt into this one. I ordered it because you cooked this for me before but it's a shame they can't really cook it like you do.'
pining!george 's favourite date location is probably yours or his house. he invited you over to his hotel room on a media day because the hotel was swarmed outside and he wasn't really thinking about going to papparazi. so you and he hang out there and honestly, it was fun. the both of you cook together, him miserably failing and you're effortlessly amazing. he watches local tv with you, nevermind if you don't know the language. it's entertaining to see a woman yell and slap a man across the face while everyone else is shocked. drama doesn't need a language barrier, after all. he even invites you to stay in his bed while he goes to the couch. you want to retaliate but he's already making himself comfy on the couch. you feel bad but oh well, you give him a blanket for his effort.
pining!george doesn't know that you are very amused by his behaviour. whether or not you are actually aware of his flirting, it makes you laugh everytime. you watch him change clothes, buy albums, make friendship bracelets, complain about restaurant food all with a smile on your lips. he doesn't really see himself in your eyes, and he looks so good loving you.
🗒 𝗣𝗔𝗣𝗘𝗥 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗜𝗟 . . . did this during classes and i only got to make a few TT. but i plan to do a smau or a fic on the weekend, so look forward to it! and lmk any feedback on the graphic if you have any. i'm always never satisfied but god i just want a template to be able to use when i'm quickly posting ˎˊ˗ ᝰ.

Achieving the iconic 2015 look as a 2025 girl!
Have you ever told yourself you were born into the wrong generation? Maybe it’s the nostalgia of listening to One Direction on your iPhone 5, or maybe you’re older and can enjoy it more now. Whatever the case may be, if you’re reading this you also miss the good energy of the 2013-2016s. And if that is the case, this is the post for you! Achieving a real and authentic 2015 inspired year is nowhere near as unobtainable as it might seem. From youtube, to fashion inspo let this post be your guide to unleashing your inner icon!
Fashion Inspiration!

King kylie, Bella Hadid, Ariana Grande and Sky Ferreria! All iconic and well known fashion icons. Whether you're a Pinterest 2014 girl or a Tumblr 2015 one, you at least are familiar with one. Luckily a huge part of the era's fashion is it's simplicity. Depending on the sub-style you're going for, your inspiration can range anywhere from shabby chic to grunge!
Regardless of color, most of the essentials remain the same. Skater girl skirts? Make it pink or black, and it works no matter the aesthetic! Though for some things, such as the coquette shabby chic, try things like floral wedges and flowy dresses! And for grunge, try flannels, black skinny jeans and converse! Fashion is all about what works for you, which is why it's important to find your style before anything else. Fashion inspo is just as unique as you are!
Movies and Books!

Of course, to really embrace the energy of a 2015 icon, you have to surround yourself with it! Staple movies like, The Fault in our stars and Paper towns are a way one ticket to nostalgia. Other movies such as Divergent, The Hunger Games, The Great Gatsby and If I Stay are perfect additions to your 2015 movie nights! My personal favorite movies of the time are All the bright places, Naomi and Ely's No Kiss List and LOL. The early 2010's were the best movie era in my opinion and this filmography list proves it!
The books however, are an entirely more diverse subject. While most 2010's movies are either mostly dystopian or romance, the books are a whole different ballpark. From horror to romcom to sci-fi, there's a fit for everyone! The most popular choices are of course John Green and your typical dystopian series; however, I raise a much larger choice of selections. In terms of sci-fi with a mix of romance the Caster Chronicles series (Beautiful Creatures) is a phenomenal series and an even better movie. If horror is more your speed, Natasha Preston's The Cellar and Welcome to the Dark House by Parker Bradley are definitely CoCo approved! Finally for the love nuts, aka me, To All the Boys I've Loved Before is a classic and obvious choice, but I would be a fraud to not include it!
Music Music Music!

One beautiful thing about the 2010's is it's consistency in music that makes you feel! For most people, that feeling is sadness LOL. However, there is poetry in that writing which makes the inner ache of somber all worth it for the bliss of melody. Artists like The 1975, Marina, Lana Del Rey and Lorde are all versatile and perfect artists to get you right back in that nostalgic state!
Whether you're looking for a more girlish vibe or a darker energy, the 2010's are a great time for whatever musical desires you have! I will leave my link to my 2014 playlist right here! Whether you use it for yourself or inspiration is up to you! Please let me know in the comments if you end up liking it, or link your own playlists!!!
Room Decor!

The quickest way to achieve a realistic 2015 inspired room is to go onto Pinterest and find your niche! For some super personal ideas on how to make your room aesthetically you, check out some old DIY YouTube videos. They range from various aesthetics, and you can personalize them anyway you please! My favorite youtubers to watch are MyLifeAsEva, LaurDIY, Alisha Marie and of course my queen of DIY Bethany Mota.
For the overall aesthetic, if you’re one of the grungier girls, opt for posters like The 1975 or The Neighborhood. Things like black throw pillows or printed out photos of you and your friends are perfect for achieving your look. Cutting out clippings from magazines and making collages is also a fun and free way to personalize your room!
Now if you’re like me and you’re more of a pink girl, try floral sheets like tulips or daisies! Fur throw pillows and double sided sequin pillows are a good touch for your bed too. Posters like Lana Del Rey and Ariana Grande are more 2015-esque touches, along with string lights and polaroids!
No matter the aesthetic, what’s really important is personalization! You don’t want your room to be the same as everyone else’s, it should be unique and showcase who you are!
In Conclusion..

Whether you’re a Tumblr grunge or a Pinterest shabby chic, I hope this guide helps you in any way it can! The most important thing about truly making this year your dream aesthetic is all in your experience. 2025 is what you make it! Whether it’s staying at home all day reading TFIOS, or if it’s going out and taking polaroids on the beach. Any year can be any aesthetic you want, as long as you hope it so. Even small things like hanging out with friends or watching nostalgic YouTube videos can make your year what you want it to be!
Thank you so much for reading, and for all of the support I have gotten! I truly haven’t been posting for long, but I have already made friends and gotten so much love and I want to thank you all so very much for it! If there’s anything you’re interesting in me reading, or want a more in depth explanation for, please let me know in the comments! I love you divas, stay cutesy!

Dice Hoarders (Chance x Jerry) Headcanons
(I caved. Here's my non-conprehensive list. Use this as a beginner's guide to Dice Hoarders. Mandatory reading is still The Map to Your Heart and Your Turn To Roll)
They weren't super aware of each other before meeting you. Jerry playing apothecary in your oneshot was the first time they were in each other's presence for more than a minute
(As per my fic) They fall for each other when Jerry realizes Chance can't draw maps, and Chance realizes Jerry can. Cartography is sexy
Chance actually can't draw anything, he's a storyteller through and through. If he needs a visual on a character, he'll describe them to Jerry so he can draw them
When playing G&G, Chance will always do his best to allow Jerry's homebrew items and make them make sense. He's infatuated with his ingenuity
Don't forget that Jerry is a storyteller too! He makes elaborate character backstories that always have Chance on the edge of his seat
Jerry, through your help, has fallen in love with junk DIY. Many pieces of his collection have been repurposed into props for campaigns. This is the most surefire way to get Chance a blushing mess
Besides that, it's always Jerry who's blushing. Whenever Chance twists something he said into an innuendo or praises him for something he did in game, he's a puddle on the floor
(As most Jerry fics have agreed) The lightbulb in Jerry's hair glows depending on how much affection/arousal he's feeling
Y'know how Jerry says "Cheese and crackers" and "Bedknobs and broomsticks"? He's now started saying "Grottos and gargoyles" when the exclamation is due to something Chance did
They are both such autistic nerds. Jerry's been cooped up his whole life, so Chance shows him all of his favorite movies. They're gonna watch Lord of the Rings and Jerry's gonna start calling Chance "my precious" just you wait
Oh, petnames! Well, my wonderful first mate @thecatchat has Chance call Jerry "treasure chest" and Jerry call Chance "my treasure". They for sure use basic ones like "Darling" and "My love" but besides those, Chance gets called "Ruby" (for his eyes) and "Doll" (because he has broken dolls and doll furniture in his museum). And Jerry gets called "Jerr", "Doctor" (cause of Doctor Who), and "Puppy/Pup"
Physical touch to Chance is second-nature. (These also go for selfship) When he's excited he may pick Jerry up and spin him around. And he love love loves holding hands. He always has to be doing something with his hands, so if they aren't holding Jerry's, he's fidgeting with a die
Jerry basically never initiates anything, but he loves the physical affection all the same. He loves to have his hair played with (if the embedded objects can be avoided), and he loves to hold Chance safe in his arms like a piece of his collection. This is the position they find themselves in a lot when Chance is working on G&G stuff
And more intimate/suggestive stuff below~~~
Jerry has a bad habit of forgetting to care for himself, so Chance sweetens the pot by offering to shower with him. Unfortunately for Jerry, Chance really does just want to make sure that boy gets clean. Maybe if he's good he'll get some action
Jerry is the king of praise kinks btw. Like that's just true
He's also a dogboy (as hinted earlier). Combined with the praise kink and he's on the floor begging in hopes to be called a good dog
AND he has an oral fixation (the rusty nail, anyone?) He loves kissing or licking any part of Chance
Chance is a biter (comes with the cat territory). He may not be able to draw a map, but Jerry's gonna be covered in trails of bite marks when he's done
This series of images from my Research Lead, @thepinkestpug

Chance is experienced and Jerry isn't. I mean, Jerry gets flustered by the smallest things and he never leaves that drawer. And Chance actually knows how to flirt (He and Parker are ex hate-fuckers/ex enemies with benefits and that's the only reality I'll accept)
Jerry has a spring bed... Think of the noise...
Chance wears baggy pants for a reason. Jerry is not so lucky (especially with that lightbulb too)
There are so many good innuendos. Of course there's the in-game ones (Dice and Knob). I've seen people use Dice Tower for Chance too. But guys, Jerry has junk in his drawers! It's right there!
Oh, and let's just combine that oral fixation with the popular "Chance can feel anything done to the d20 and the numbers are different parts of his body" headcanon. Jerry finds that out on accident
#your faithful captain is here with headcanons#i do have a few more but those are poly party selfship ones#i think about these boys a lot#y'all have to see my vision with Jerry being the doctor#he looks and acts like 11 (my favorite)#the museum has Tardis properties#like come on#also i wouldn't consider Chance to be a catboy#just catlike#hopefully you all have the fuel you need to make content now#go forth my crew#sail those high seas#date everything#chance date everything#jerry date everything#dice hoarders

Mori Kei Style Series - Links for Learning
Mori Kei means "Forest Style", you may also hear Mori Girl or Mori Boy, meaning "Forest Girl/Boy". This style originated around 2005 from the idea of looking like you live or belong in the forest. okay y'all seemed to like the last one so here's a few more Horizon 3 thoughts:
Aloy won’t die. It would completely upend the series’ themes and just be really nihilistic.
Since Nemesis is a gestalt entity I think it’s a safe bet that we’ll see Sam Witwer, Carrie-Anne Moss, etc again. I’m curious how they’re going to do it because at least structurally, it’s basically a reaper. Maybe it’ll use different Avatars when communicating like the Leviathan in ME3.
It's gonna take some work to make a flashback/dream/vision not contrived but I would love to see Varl and Rost again. I think we deserve that.
Minerva is gonna have its work cut out for it blocking access to both the dormant Faro Swarm and the ZD terraforming system.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Nemesis has some sort of corruption function that becomes the equivalent of the corruption in HZD. It would be a really fun tech showcase if GG uses Zenith nanotech for machine corruption and leans into mechanical body horror.
If we’re going to Ban-Ur I really really hope they do the work to make the Banuk less problematic and more fleshed out as a culture. A quasi-Spartan society absolutely would not survive in an extreme environment, *especially* without megafauna to hunt. The Banuk characters are lovely and well-written; they deserve a society as well thought out as the Utaru or Carja. I’m honestly fine if there’s retcons or revamps to the cultural lore because the whole “outsider barges in and becomes chief” is rooted in racist, colonial tropes and we just don’t really need that imo.
The most recent footage of Death Stranding 2 (also running on Decima) has me SO excited for the visuals. GG’s gonna knock it out. The facial rendering and animation that Kojima Productions are doing looks industry-peak and I’m sure GG’s gonna match that. Aloy’s Gay Panic™️ scene on the beach in HBS is already top-tier nonverbal storytelling through animation. Digital Foundry actually just posted a really cool tech breakdown of the current Decima engine. I’m especially excited about the environmental stuff. The ocean simulations in HFW are already incredible and I hope they increase verticality in the world. I can’t wait to see the Sacred Lands in current gen graphics.
I really love Kotallo’s DIY arm and it’s so so important to his development but Beta and Gaia now have access to Zenith nanotech, maybe give your buddy a sick upgrade hmm?
Speaking of, I can’t wait to see Beta come into her own. She’s one of the best parts of HFW and Aloy’s character absolutely shines in a sibling dynamic.
I wouldn’t get your hopes up for a romance mechanic. Everyone’s feelings on that aside, it would be really odd from a game development perspective to just overhaul part of how the narrative develops Aloy’s character in the last act of the story. Yeah, there are flashpoints but I would argue that the presence of choice in Horizon is smoke and mirrors- cosmetic at best. Kentucky Route Zero (which you should play) does something similar where the player is given a certain amount of control over the substance of individual conversations and scenarios and it does absolutely nothing to alter the plot, by design. I think it’s the same here - this isn’t really a choice-based RPG, the flashpoints don’t really affect anything plot-wise or for Aloy’s character development. Olin is still out of the story, Nil lives, Regalla still dies one way or another. Aloy’s character development is pretty firmly on rails (think Jin Sakai, not Shepard - you get to guide some momentary character reactions but that’s it). I don’t think HBS is a testing ground either - If they were gonna introduce a romance mechanic I think they’d just do it, and not spend two years making a direct continuation of HFW’s main quest and establishing a specific romance hard-baked into the plot, complete with multiple leitmotifs for the character relationship (which is something they haven’t done before afaik) just to introduce a side quest mechanic coming in 5 years. I genuinely can’t think of any game or dev that has beta tested a major alteration to upcoming game mechanics that way - it doesn’t really make any sense in terms of developer resources, and these games are extremely time-consuming to make. I know this is a thing a bunch of people want and I can totally empathize with that! I just think it’s probably not on the table.
I would bet money the series will bookend itself and the epilogue will involve a) the naming of Zo and Varl’s kid and b) Lis’ pendant.
Mostly I'm just looking forward to being surprised. One of my favorite things that Horizon does is use carefully established elements in the world to pull the plot in unexpected directions and keeping the world grounded while they lean into speculative science fiction. I can't wait to see what Guerrilla is cooking up

Eternal TTRPG Jam - June
The June jam has been decided! We are an ongoing game jam with rotating themes. The focus is on starting a game, planning your scope, and finishing it in a month. If you’ve been looking for a reason to make a game and you want a tight community with some really amazing designers, come join us for the June jam.
Theme: ____-Punk
Genre-Punk is a huge field of potential. Trying to boil it down into one core idea, I end up paraphrasing Austin Walker talking about Gibsonian cyberpunk: it is about people that want some concrete change in the world and are sincere about their efforts to make it happen. That seems like a decent starting point for thinking through these ideas. Consider youth, consider power, consider motivation.
Challenge: Teaching Principles: DIY
Include systems for teaching your players how to make their own content for your game. This could include adventure planning guides, class design primers, monster stat templates, etc.
Starting with the June jam, we're embarking on a series of challenges that focus on how we communicate with our players. These will run through the end of summer and will mostly be framed around teaching players principles of TTRPGs as well ad exploring what those really mean.
Even if you’re not participating this month, come join the Discord and get involved with the community.

Hi! First of all, I want to say that I enjoy reading your pieces of meta, a lot of them made my day and I find myself thinking back to them a lot. Great work 💓
Second, I want to ask you a question: What do you think are important actions made my Draco that created butterfly effects for the hp story? like for example there was a post that talked about how Draco fixing the cabinet can be connected to him taking Neville's remember ball and egging Harry about it in the first book.
I think it's a lil bit iffy that Draco is considered just a random side character by a lot of readers when a lot of his actions affect Harry and the story in a lot of ways.
Thank you very much friend 💗, I mostly write to exorcise the demon within me that won't rest until all Facts are documented so I'm endlessly delighted by other people's appreciation for my craft.
As for your question, I'm not exactly the best person to ask because Draco is my favorite character and I feel like I can't ever be objective when it comes to all things Malfoy; that said, I believe Draco is extremely significant to the plot in both intended and unintended ways.
jkr likely came up with the concept of Draco because she needed a school-aged foil for Harry but Draco also acts as conduit to introduce deeper, more adult themes in the story via his father, one of the first big bads of the series.
Intentional or not, Draco ends up being very vital to the structure of the books, a sort of middleman between the school world and the adult world who helps in making a lot of the conflicts in the books feel more real and immediate to Harry. Like, what makes Harry care about wizard racism? It's seeing his rival and one of his friends directly involved in the issue that makes him gain awareness of the situation. Draco is a constant in the books and his presence and beliefs make the situation in the wizarding world feel more personal to Harry. The kerfuffle at the the Quidditch World cup is more dangerous and immediate because we know it's Draco's dad who is out there doing it.
On a deeper level, Draco's presence and actions guide the course of the story from the very beginning. if Harry isn't immediately turned off by Draco and his elitist ways, he's less likely to care about a whole host of things, starting from where the sorting hat wants to put him. Would Harry and Ron's friendship be as strong as it is without a common enemy to unite them? in the first books especially, the two are equally invested in the whole rivalry thing, with Ron even taking the reins at times. Would Harry, Ron and Hermione even be friends without Draco? the troll incident that cemented the trio's friendship was caused by Draco's midnight duel challenge (and its aftermath) and the last conversation the three have before Hermione steals off to the troll bathroom is about how Hermione is displeased that Harry's rule-breaking got him a broom (which Draco is also responsible for).
Every major conflict in the book has shades of Draco, from the most lighthearted and comedic of scenes to the most charged and grave ones. From indadvertedly helping Harry gain confidence in his patronus with his DIY dementor all the way to pretending not to recognise him at the Manor, Draco's actions are key to the plot.
TL;DR: Draco is a linchpin in the whole series and I won't hear any arguments to the contrary.
xoxo

𝓜𝓸𝓿𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓞𝓷 5
Pairing: Wanda Maximoff x Fem!Reader
Summary: Y/n knows that Natasha is dead. And once her friendship with Wanda really kicks off, from smiling at each other during therapy to going to each other’s houses for tea, she thinks she’s finally ready to move on. But the question is: how far will she be able to go?
Warnings (Entire Series): This series deals with mature topics, including, but not limited to: death, mental health issues, physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, grief, trauma, general unwellness, illness (both mental and physical), and a most likely inaccurate portrayal of group therapy (though it’s much better than whatever was going on in TFATWS.) Please mind the warnings below.
Warnings: cursing, dead romantic partners, death, Halloween. Let me know to tag anything else.
🌻Series Masterlist 🌻
————————————————————————
𝐈 𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐜𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞 You and Wanda had started to take turns going to each other’s places for tea or coffee or even dinner every so often. The first time you’d brought her to your apartment, after two days of cry-cleaning, she’d smiled warmly as she sat with you at your kitchen table.
You’d learned her husband’s name was Jarvis, but everyone called him Vision, because his eyesight was really good and his eyes were different shades of blue.
You’d told her about Natasha, about some of your funny memories together. You told her of deep red hair, icy blue eyes that held nothing but warmth and love and a sharp sense of humor. You told her of sarcastic jokes, of loving roasts and bad puns every so often. Of nerdy movies and DIY furniture.
And you knew you were developing a little bit of a crush on her, but you knew it wasn’t going to go anywhere. She was straight, wasn’t she? She had a whole ass husband, and she’d never mentioned anything about liking women.
Either way, you didn’t say no when she invited you on a mysterious outing one day.
You drove over to her house, which was in a pretty big suburban neighborhood. You were positive that you were the last one to arrive, noticing all the cars parked in the drive way and against the street.
You rang the doorbell, and it was Clint who opened the door for you.
“Hey, c’mon—Wanda’s elbow-deep in old Halloween decorations in the living room.” He explains, leading you through the house. It was a nice house, warm and comforting.
Clint led you into the living room, where Wanda, Sam, and Bucky were all sorting through decorations. On a first glance, you could see who was responsible for what—Bucky was surrounded by Halloween decor, and Sam had all the basic fall decorations, including pillow covers and painted canvases, and Wanda was separating the two things.
“Hey, you’re here!” Wanda grinned as Clint walked off to help Steve hang a banner on the wall of the dining room.
You smile, nodding. “How can I help?”
“C’mere, I need help carrying these bins back down to the basement.” Wanda directed you, having you help her stack the plastic tubs, and then the lids.
“I can carry the bins,” you offer, and before she can reply, you lift them off the ground.
“Thanks.” She picks up the lids, before guiding you through her pretty house and to a door. She opens it, revealing a set of stairs.
“The basement’s a bit rough-looking, and there’s a light with a string you have to pull down there. It’s a bit dark, sorry.” She apologized, beginning to walk down the stairs. They creaked as she stepped on them, and you bit your lip. It was a stereotypical scary basement.
“S’okay.” You replied, though for some reason, you were a bit scared. It felt scary, though you knew that rationally, it was just a basement.
You followed her down the creaking steps, taking slow, cautious steps. As you rounded the corner of the wall that kept the stairs out of view from the rest of the basement, you bit your lip.
“Here, I’ll find the light somewhere..” She mumbled quietly, tucking the bin lids under her left arm as she reached her right hand up at the ceiling, seemingly searching for the light string.
It was completely dark in the basement. It smelled like a basement, which somehow managed to mean it smelled like a dark and creepy enclosed space with no windows that was very much underground. You took slow, small steps, unable to see your feet from the way you were carrying the bins. You didn’t separate your knees when you walked, wanting to keep your chance of falling as close to zero as it could be.
As she searched for the pull chain of the light, you tried to glance around in the darkness. The only light was the mostly concealed light spilling out from the door at the top of the staircase, making the basement ten times creepier.
“Where is it..” She muttered, taking a few steps around in a circle, hand still in the air.
A figure stepped into your vision, and the first thing you noticed was its face. A true monster, with green skin and black details on its face, with horns protruding from its forehead. You couldn’t see anything but its face, but that was enough. It jumped out at you and Wanda, as it croaked out some broken strand of speech.
It let out a horrific shriek, and you screamed, dropping the bins as Wanda let the lids fall out of her hands, and they skittered across the hard and rough floor of the basement. She screeched too, racing behind you as you raced to her, hoping that you’d get taken out first and she could get away.
You both stood there, joints locked tight and frozen in pure terror, screaming. This will be the day that you die. You’re going to die right here, in some basement, being murdered by some monster that you didn’t even know existed.
Your thoughts screamed these words, as you screamed incoherently. At least, until you heard the sound of laughing.
A flesh hand pulled at the chin of the monsters face, pulling it back. It was a mask. It had just been a mask.
Tony cackled as he took the mask off his face entirely, and it took you a second to process everything.
You heard stomping from upstairs, and before you knew it, Steve was racing down the staircase, Bucky in tow, a panicked look on his face.
“What is it?” Steve wheezed as Bucky said something similar.
“Tony, you ass!” You hissed, heat rushing to your face as you realized you’d been screaming over a stereotypical Halloween mask.
“Seriously?” Bucky’s brow was raised as he pat Steve’s back, the blonde leaning on his knees, attempting to catch his breath.
You were about to yell at Tony when you heard something from behind you. Giggles.
Wanda Maximoff was giggling, snorting every so often. She found this funny. You found yourself laughing too, albeit unintentionally.
You realized she was still clinging to your arms, her hands wrapped tightly on your biceps. She seemed to realize this too, quickly letting go.
“Sorry,” she blushed.
“It’s alright.” You smiled shyly, completely missing the knowing look Steve and Bucky were giving each other.
Eventually, you all dragged yourselves back upstairs, continuing to change out the summer-slash-regular decor for the fall-slash-Halloween-and-kinda-Thanksgiving decor.
When everything was up and finished, everyone left. Everyone except you, who was still talking to Wanda. You eventually made it to the doorframe before she stopped you again.
“Hey—er, do you..do you want to go out with me tomorrow? Like a girls day?” She stared up at you, biting her lip anxiously.
“Sure. Where do you wanna go?” You asked after a moment, hoping that your face wasn’t as red as you thought it would be.
“It’s a surprise. Just..meet me here at..12:00 tomorrow, alright?”
You nodded, quite eagerly, and you cringed at yourself as you walked to your car. Biting your lip as you drove home, you wondered what you were meant to wear. Wanda hadn’t really said anything about dress codes, so you assumed you could just wear something not stained, and that would be fine.
Even though it technically wasn’t a date, you couldn’t help but feel excited for tomorrow. But if it had been a date, would you have been able to say yes? You weren’t entirely sure. Yes, you wanted to say. But what about Natasha?
You didn’t have an answer to that.

YOU, YES YOU, CAN MAKE A ZINE! Part 2

Part 1 is here: https://www.tumblr.com/getintheholezine/771675540692336640/you-yes-you-can-make-a-zine-part-1
What should my zine be about?
A fanzine is typically focused on one fandom – one show, one movie, one book, one comic series, that kind of thing. Often, zines are even more specialized, publishing works on…
A character or ship
A genre, like fluff or angst or smut
A prompt or theme
A trope or kink
Choose something you find interesting and valuable!
The term “zine” can also broadly refer to other group fan projects like calendars and card decks, because those are run very similarly to anthology-type zines.
Zines may have content restrictions based on the comfort level of the person/people running it. For example, they might specify no explicit sexual content or no violence. Please be as specific as possible when outlining your zine’s boundaries.
How big should my zine be?
Big enough to get people excited for the variety of works within, but small enough to manage the work of putting it together and distributing it. For a small, simple zine run by one person, I recommend 10-15 works, for a total of 30-40 pages.
What kinds of works should my zine contain?
Entirely up to you! Fanzines typically contain fanfiction and fanart. You could expand that to include poetry, comics, scripts, and essays of analysis/critique (“meta”).
For art, decide if you want full-color or black-and-white only (more on this later when we discuss printing). For written work, you'll want to set length guidelines. In a booklet, a 2,000-word fic will likely take up about 8 pages, so consider setting a 1,000-word, 1,500-word, or 2,000-word limit.
Digital or physical?
Unless you have access to free printing (for example, if you work in an office and your boss doesn't pay too much attention to the copier), a digital zine is the only zine you can produce completely cost-free. Distribution of a digital zine is dead easy – just post the download link! And if people want a printed copy, you can always produce a printer-friendly version of the zine, and encourage folks to DIY it at home.
Producing physical copies yourself will cost you money. It might be as little as a ream of paper, if your home printer is up to the task. It’ll cost a bit more if you need it printed and copied at a copy shop. Will you bind it yourself, which takes time, or pay extra for the copy shop to do that? If you plan to distribute it by mail, there's envelopes and postage, too, and the time involved in sending the damn things.
Should it be free?
Fandom has long been understood as a labor of love, where people produce and publish fanworks in the spirit of generosity. Add in those pesky copyright issues, and (unless the fanworks are based on something in the public domain, like Shakespeare) trying to turn a profit on fanzines is risky. Some zines do risk it, but that is beyond the scope of this guide. Fan projects like zines have often collected funds to cover their material costs and/or to donate to charity, and that's what I'll be discussing.
Here's a rundown of some options:
A zine that is digital-only and free doesn't cost you a dime, and can be distributed simply by posting a download link on social media. Easy-peasy.
A zine that is digital-only and for charity doesn't cost you a dime, but must be distributed to individuals via email after they've donated the suggested amount. They can pay you, trusting that you'll direct the money to charity; or they can donate directly to the charity and show you a screenshot as proof (my recommendation).
A zine that is physical and free will cost money to make, and unless you hand it out to people in person, will also cost money to distribute. Not to mention the time and effort of collecting addresses, addressing envelopes, getting postage, and so on. You’ll be asking people to trust you with their mailing address and probably their real name. (You should plan to delete all that after distribution is complete.)
A zine that is physical and cost-covering may require you to accept payment from people who want the zine. Not only will you be asking people to trust you with their mailing address and probably their real name, you'll be asking them to trust you with their money – that you are taking only what you need to cover costs, and not pocketing any profit for yourself. You can promise to donate any leftover money to charity, which again requires trust. On the other hand, you can avoid collecting money by using a print-on-demand service like Mixam’s PrintLink. People can pay the printer directly, and the printer will mail the zine out! Just make sure you don't mark up the zine’s price over the cost of production.
A zine that is physical and for charity will cost you money to make and distribute. As with the digital charity zine, you can avoid handling people's money by asking them to send you a screenshot of their charitable donation. The money you spend to make the zine becomes a sort of donation by proxy. Perhaps each printed zine costs you $5 to make, and you require a $10 donation to get a copy, so you spent $5 for the charity to get $10. Unless you have a sizable philanthropy budget, this approach really only works for a small-audience zine.
Note: You need to decide if the zine is digital or physical, and if it's free, cost-covering, or for charity before soliciting fanworks. Potential contributors deserve to know up front exactly what they're getting involved in. Also, if the zine is not entirely free, you need to decide what contributors will get at no cost to them. Plan to give them at least a free digital copy, if not a free physical copy, as well. Some cost-covering zines charge buyers enough to pay for the contributors’ physical copies. Which is just another example of how adding money into the mix also adds complexity!
Part 3 coming soon!
